One of the souls. Abiisan sees you floating in the back of a dark cavern one night, and you give him a vital piece of information--the areas on that world where important/mass deaths took place.
Helpful for a person who collects souls, isn't it?

The spunky girl you befriend and end up doing a sidequest for. She's posessed by an falcon demon, and if you beat it she gives you a rare item. W00t rare itemz!

One of a gajillion statues in a mazelike room that you have to avoid to get to the other side. If you touch one, it comes to life and totally owns all your hitpoints in the ensuing battle.

The gajillionth statue that's hiding...so after you painstakingly made your way through all the other statues, you bump into her (if you're not astoundingly observant, that is) and she demolishes your character.
Would you like to start from the beginning of the level?

The guard at the entranbce/exit of the prison you are thrown in if you commi a crime. If you try to escape, her falcon will posess you, bringing you back inside the prison. You do the crime; you do the time! whee

(Heh, I need to get new avatar art, I think I'm gonna keep this outfit for a while. :3 )
The backrow thief with a GIGANTIC boomerang-class weapon that does massive damage. Unfortunately he doesn't join your party until you're 3/4 of the way through the game. Isn't that how it always is?

^ a silent but deadly assassin who tags along your party but is a "guest" so you can't control him. The whole time he's in your party, you wonder how he's so strong but you'll never find out... because he will NEVER be a controllable character. sad Sadness..

The futurustic geisha who conceals and masks weapons in multiple locations on her body. When you travel to Neo-Japan, you can visit the theater and ask for her help. Defeating her in combat AND giving her a large sum of money is the only way she'll agree to travel with you.

^Could also be one of those powerful, dark and angsty characters that first starts off as an enemy then slowly and surely sees the goodness in your motive (plus something that could benefit them) and decides to join you, only to leave right away because he got tired of you and thinks that you are not high enough level for him xd heart

The only character in the game that uses fan weapons, and wouldn't you know it, she's totally kickass with them, too. The problem is that you have to do a really obscure side-quest to find her, and only when you've already beaten the game and are playing it on hard mode will she actually join your party. But she's worth it, because those fans do major damage. :3
