Hiei gave the psychic a rather humorous stare, then turned to look at Kurama as if trying to find that significance. And he couldn't. A few things crossed his mind, such as the fact that he and the fox were partners, but that didn't seem important at all. What in all the seven hells was it, then?
"And you know this: keep us here for a day more and you're sure to find a worried and powerful detective knocking at your door."
Letting go the grip of his sword, the Jaganshi adopted a very bored expression.

A flicker of fear appeared in her eyes at the mention of Yusuke, but she quickly composed herself. While bedtime horror stories of his power had sprung up recently, she did not believe the detective was such a threat. And even if he was, the demoness did not intend to keep them that long.
"Not that soon, Koorime. For all he knows, it could've taken this long just to get here." At this, she changed the subject entirely. "Now, would you like to have lunch? I can make it, if you wish, but if you don't trust me..."

Hiei merely narrowed his eyes. His threat hadn't really worked. Though at the mention of food, his stomach curled painfully. He was still hungry, the earlier snack only having dulled the edges of his hunger. He still didn't trust her, but he was sure now she wouldn't do anything to the food. So his decline only came from pride. He would not allow himself to be taken care of by her. If Kurama could make lunch, however...
"I'll only eat if you let us make our own food," he said sharply, punctuating his firmness with just his voice.

"I'm completely fine with that," the woman said simply. Not making the food was better for her, anyway. If she wanted a 'meal', all she had to do was snatch some cookies out of a cabinet.
It was obvious to her that the wiser fox would be the better cook of the two, and that he'd be willing to make food, so she assumed, "And if that's the way you want it, I'll show Kurama to the kitchen, and let him know where everything is. I'd rather you not leave a mess—not that I'll be the one cleaning." In her own way, Kasai was trying to be more pleasant. Eventually, they would return home, but in the meantime, she would prefer peace.
The psychic turned to leave, expected them to follow, and walked through a few rooms to reach the kitchen. At that point, she waved Kurama to her.

With a daring look in his lovely green eyes, the fox took Hiei's hand in his own, and made an attempt to lead him into the kitchen. Kurama's plan was to observe what the woman thought of this, and possibly figure what that significance of bringing them both to her home was. His first feelings usually were fairly correct, and... the impression he got was of himself and the Koorime together.
Wishful thinking on his part, no doubt.
But, on the off chance that it wasn't, the red-head would not mention his suspicions for a good while. He had to be completely sure. More than that, actually, if he didn't want to lose any vital organs. Perhaps he could trick the fire apparition into feigning... after all, escaping was the main thing on his mind.

And of course, the Jaganshi was all but receptive. He withdrew his hand sharply, staring first at Kurama in confusion and then with a glare as he came to the conclusion that the other was trying to play with him. Though a part of him thought the fox had some kind of plan behind that strange action.
"I'm not one of your school girls; I won't hold your hand," Hiei snapped, just to keep his pride afloat.

Kurama was not discouraged by this, the main reason being that he had expected much worse, even being struck. But for that instant, he felt the psychic watching more intently. Maybe he hadn't been incorrect, after all? But still, that was an entirely ridiculous reason to drag them here and turn their closest family into children. She really did like playing games, though, if that was the case. One thing it would also mean is that she meant them no harm.
And so the fox was able to reply light-heartedly, "Well, your dress and lovely eyes could have fooled me."
Maybe he should state his death wish now?

To say Hiei looked annoyed (or possibly disgusted; those two can be awfully alike) would be an unforgivable understatement. For a moment he just stopped at the kitchen door and stared Kurama down with that look, but regained slightly and managed to get himself into the room.
"Kurama," he said straightly. "I know how much you'd like to have me on a plate, but now is hardly the time."
He moved his hand, pointing to the shelves and other things kitchenly.
"Cook."

Kurama had at least the decency to hide the instantly appearing smirk caused by that comment, but he supressed the thoughts it spawned, simply replying with, "On a plate, Hiei? Can't say it'd be comfortable, but... I must give points for creativity." Being nice enough, he left out any mention of the 'now' in his pleasant response.
Briefly, his attention was turned to Kasai, as she pointed out where everything was, before limping off towards her room.
Deciding to apologize for the teasing in his own way, Kurama asked, "Is there anything in particular you would like?"

The Koorime shrugged. Though he knew exactly what he wanted. Looking to where Kasai had pointed, he fixed his eyes on something that sat on a shelf he couldn't quite reach. Of course, he didn't have to worry about that. In a flash, he was gone and reappeared, holding a small box that read: cocoa.
He didn't need to say anything else.

Night walked into the kitchen and stared at the two. After watching them warily, she promptly ignored them and began preparing her own and Carlos's meals. She growled and froze whenever Kurama came too close, a habit she picked up from Carlos (He seemed to think she was going to take away his precious rawhide). She glared and mumbled something under her breath.
"You're lucky you did not kill her, Jaganshi. Worse things than vampires and werewolves exist in this world," Shadow stated and took lunch. She paused at the door and was about to say something, but changed her mind and left.

Having been around the Koorime so long, his recognition of such a threat was delayed. Still, the kitsune acted as if Night weren't there, and promptly prepared the cocoa, sweetening it up an extra bit, fairly sure Hiei had a hidden sweet tooth. At the same time, he made an identical mug for himself... though, not being a fire apparition, he would prefer the heat it gave off to the taste.
Not much in the mood to cook—or rather, not wanting to keep Hiei in the kitchen too long,—Kurama made himself a simple dish, based with rice. He made just enough to share, should the other want some. After the chocolate, of course, because it was practically sacred and always came first.
With a soft smile, the fox held out the finished cup of cocoa, expecting to have it snatched immediately.

Hiei merely shifted his gaze to Night at her statement. Then he said, "There are far worse things than vampires and werewolves, and you happen to be talking to one of them."
Though when the cocoa was ready... snatch he did. Hiei stared down into the mug with large eyes, as if expected it to be less than perfect. Though that wasn't so when he finally brought it to his lips. He was quite pleased, but didn't indulge in an expression to show that, being such a private little Koorime. Not even a thanks was given, though that was expected.
He made his way out and into the dining room, glancing at Kurama briefly and ignoring Night once more. Though the glance at Kurama was more at his plate.

Carlos was splayed out lazily on the floor, watching Night pace. She was not happy. Not that he cared, really, but she was really, really starting to make him nervous. She was planning another game... he just knew it.
"We shall play another game!" Night cried, coming to a sudden stop. Her eyes lit up. Carlos did a werewolf sigh. "Not you, silly! The Fox and the Mu-" she dragged the silable out in an attempt to stop it. "The Fox and the Fire demon will play, and maybe Jacque and I will join in. It's perfect!" She ran off to find Kasai.
"*Other way,*" Carlos called. Shadow passed the door to the other direction. Carlos finally settled down for a nap.

Kurama followed soon after, standing while he drank the cocoa, and later sitting to eat the food on his plate. An effort was made to eat quickly, so the Koorime wouldn't die of boredom, but hoping Hiei would eat something, himself. If he didn't, his health might decline, causing sickness. Maybe that was his human side speaking, though, because demons weren't so fragile, especially the one beside him. But he couldn't help worrying.
The red-head was by no means a psychic, but somehow he got the feeling that Night was up to something... again. They couldn't escape the castle, so maybe hiding was an option? Considering her sense of humor, it wasn't a good idea to wait and see.... Did they honestly want to ride unicycles around the perimeter of Kasai's grounds, searching for a rainbow-colored chicken, just so they could... well, was there anything, aside from freedom, that they could be given?
