The Tau strength is not in its vehicles in my opinion, its in its Battlesuits.
4 seeker missiles=40points and i know you have more than 1 markerlight in case so 2-4 markerlights thats 20-40 points... so....
60-80 points thats one crisis suit of Shas ui rank and equiptment as well, i'd rather have the crisis suit.

you really dont want more than one seeker missle per tank, i mean theyre heavy 1, no blast, max 1 kill. its nice for tanks, but most armies dont have an entire tank army...

That a wager? It sounds like the Tau have exceptional strength in their missiles xd

I agree with Seraphine... most of my army is infantry, and a single non-blast radius missile wont to much.

mostly i use about 3 to 4 markerlights in my 1000 pts army, i have 2 seeker missles (devilfish and hammerhead) but end up using my marker lights for submunition shots from my hammerhead (e.g. radius) or for deploying drone sentries. but when i face another smurf army, that whirlwind really gets it... (turn one destroyed, aaah the memories, and he thought he was so clever putting it behind terain blaugh )

I'm not a Tau player myself so I don't follow the thread, by I wonder if you've seen this:
http://uk.games-workshop.com/chapterapproved/tau-auxiliaries/

I think it's pretty cool, even though it seems unplayable to me, idea. Especially the traitors special rule makes it funny.

Those floaty tanks are nothing compared to a good old tracked beast that spit's shells, not those puny scatter lasers or shoots pieces of metal with magnets!

A Tau army really is dependant on three things: The versitile battle suits, the fire power of the Fire Warrior squads and the counter-attacks of their Kroot allies.

thats somewhat ignorent... you could easily win a game against most players using only one of the above.... its strategy, i have olmost no firewarriors, and no kroot at the moment. still i manage to win quite often...

I agree with Seraphine, the Tau aren't really dependent on those three things, i hate the Kroot and I never use them, they die too easily.
I mostly have infantry army.

you can shape your army to what you want pretty much, i once had an army (proxied, but it was just for fun) with 5 units of 20 infiltrating kroot, with kroot hounds and shapers... turn 2 charge....
100 kroot and 30 hounds....

As a general rule, anything that can lay down a pie plate is good.
If it can put that pie plate on the other end of the board on turn one, it's even better. 3nodding

I'm very sorely tempted to VDR a tau-ified bassie and some Russ' for my Auxiliary Infantry.

As for the Gue'vesa, access to flamers would be beneficial, as would access to Pulse carbines and autoguns.
