*Luke frowns as he finds no "non-fiction" or a "fiction" section for that matter. It's just books upon books upon books. He sees French Art and History next to "Wind in the Willows" next to a biography of Ella Fitzgerald.*
*Luke makes a face. Who the ******** organizes this library?*
*He went through the stacks, thinking "I will find a book on retributive and restorative justice"... He wouldn't let this opportunity pass him by. Determined, he stopped at the nearest book and yanked it out.*
*"How to Work Hard to Get Your Grade (Without Having to Cheat!)*
*Luke makes a face, muttering* haha, very ******** funny...

*Maggie steps around the shelves to see Luke sifting through them for something, unsuccessfully judging by his expression*
Oh, good day te ye, Luke *she greets him softly, not wanting to startle him by sneaking up on him unexpectedly*

*Luke looks up.* Hey. *He reaches for another book and yanks it out.*
*"Flower Arrangements and Embroidery"*
*Luke grumbles and sets it back down. He picks up another book.*
*"Plagerism, Truancy, and other School-related Crimes"*
*Luke rolls his eyes. The Brink could be a ******** when it wanted to be. Luke pressed out a sigh. Apparently, it wasn't going to help him with this particular test.*
*He looks around the library. He could go through the entire library, and NOT find the book he was looking for. He glanced back at Maggie. Or, he could talk to Maggie. Which might be a good idea, seeing as how he blew her off last time.*
I was looking for a book. *He explained.* But I don't think that it's gonna give me it today. *picks up the next book, just in case.*
*"The Peace of Acceptance"*
*Luke smirks and rolls his eyes. Yeah it wasn't happening. a*****e.*
So...how've you been?

*Maggie tilts her head to look at the books he's pulling out* They do seem te be arranged rather strangely . . .
*She looks back to him at his question, debating for a moment how to answer.* I am . . . *she makes a helpless sort of gesture with her hands, and finishes lamely* .. a bit tired. 'Tis been busy at the inn. *and she does look a little run down, but more sad than anything else*
*She shifts the subject off herself* How are things for ye in yer time, Luke?

They're okay. *Luke sets down the book.* It's finals time. *masks his intentions by clearing his throat* I was just trying to study up.

Yeah, I mean, I get into it. I like studying law, that you can change the ones that don't work any more. *smiles a little* And I think it's cool that I can get paid to argue for a living.

*Maggie smiles in return at that* I daresay it must be rather exciting, te be able te pursue what ye enjoy in such a manner. Was it very hard te choose what te study?

*Luke thinks about that.* Not really. I mean, for awhile, I thought I wanted to be a high school basketball coach, or a construction worker, or Batman, but then I dunno, guess I grew up or something. I thought I wanted to be a politician for awhile, but *shakes his head* it's not really my scene.

*Maggie looks a little puzzled by some of what he's saying, but she's at least able to follow the idea of it* Ye canna be so very far in age from me, I dinna think . . . *she muses* And yet . . . I daresay ye must know so much more. *she says this without jealousy, sounding more impressed than anything else* Truly, so much must has changed between our times.

*Luke watches her... 1550 milkmaid before his very eyes. For a moment, it hits him. The bizarreness of it all. He blinks.* Yeah... Yeah. *acknowledges softly* It must be pretty weird for you, huh? You come in here one day - all of a sudden, you're seeing everyone from the stone age to the 35th century.

*Maggie clasps her hands behind her back, tilting her head to gaze around the library* Aye . . . 'tis been overwhelming at times. Though I daresay I've become somewhat used te it all now . . . as much as one can be, I suppose.

*Luke smirks a little, shrugs.* Hey, may as well, right? Not like this place gives you much of a choice anyway.
