Welcome! There's quite a few of us here. It's how Luna and I got to be such good friends; we found each other in a military thread in the discussion forums.
Looks like Chris wants to teach and forget the WO thing...so we'll be moving to Goodfellow in May.

Goodfellow is only about an hour away from us...we used to have friends stationed there. We've been trying to get orders to Alaska, but orders have been coming few and far between...

Welcome Sarissa! We're in Texas as well, in San Antonio. My hubby is in the Army. We'll end up being here for 4 years (but he was deployed for a year of it).
I'm so excited, Tommy signed his contract for the AECP program and we'll be getting orders soon.

I think they're going to be there for three more years since they extended instructor duty to a five year tour. What's the AECP? ninja My hubby lived there for a few years when his dad was stationed there and he loved it, and I've always wanted to visit there. Don't know if I would love being in the cold for more than a couple years, though.... domokun

He's going to get to go to school paid by the army for 2 years to get his BSN in nursing to become an officer. It'll just be nice because he'll get paid still but not have to work as a solider, just school full time.
Hubby always talks about Alaska, I know a lot of people love it. I wouldn't last in the cold. xd

Wow that must be nice. xd
Yeah, I don't know how long I'd be able to stand the cold. Plus there's the whole six months of looooong daylight that would get weird. But I really would like to go there sometime. Hawaii, too. I wish orders to Hawaii weren't so dang hard to get.

It's expensive to live in Hawaii and from what I've heard, everywhere is GORGEOUS minus the bases. XP Despite that, I wouldn't mind orders there either...would have liked to do the Germany tour as well. But oh well.

Germany would be awsome. Alex almost went active with the promise of a tour in germany. But, then we found out he could still be sent to Irqa from there, and I wasn't to keen on the tought of being overseas alone. sweatdrop
In other news Alex left for PLDC (which is actually called WLC now), this morning. So it's two weeks for no hubby for me cry . It's about time he went too. He got his promotion be for he depolyed 2 years ago! xp Anyway it will be good to have this over with. I'm just praying the girls will be good to me. They haven't been sleeping well for the past week. It's killing me. gonk

I'd never want to go to Hawaii, too expensive and my sister is there. xd Although the officer housing is VERY nice over there. Since we have 15 1/2 years left to go, I'm so hoping for a Germany assignment. More than likely, we'll hit it sometime since the big hospital there.
I hope the two weeks go smoothly. Tommy is supposed to go sometime soon, they rescheduled him because he was set to go right after Liam was born. I could use the bed to myself!

*sigh* Alex is gone for another two weeks of school. But in good news he turned in his E6 packet just before he left so, fingers crossed. xd

Eeek how wonderful! I hope the next two weeks go smoothly.
Man, with this Walter Reed thing, it's trickling down here. It's disappointing that they can't get their crap together like they do here at BAMC. I know the CFI is a new building and all, but there's no excuse for conditions like that. They've pulled a TON of people from here to go up there. Got orders Friday, had to PCS to DC by the following Friday. eek
