I've only been stung by bees a few times in my life, and the only time I remember it really hurting was when I was a little kid. I was walking carrying a popsicle outside to my brother, barefoot, and suddenly he shouted, but it was too late and I stepped on a bee and was stuck in the bottom of the arch of my foot. I fell over in pain, but saved the popsicle.

We used to catch bees as kids. You'd go up with a jar or something, and plop it down over top of a bumblebee on a flower, then slide the lid underneath so that he couldn't get out. Never did the thing where you freeze them then tie strings around their bellies so you can take them for walks though. Other kids used to loosen the lid then toss the container to let them go, since they were afraid of getting stung by an embittered captive upon his release, but I was allways too afraid that he might get hurt. I would set it down and lift the lid carefully, then back away slowly. I allways figured that I'd allready been a jerk for trapping him, so there was no way to justify throwing his jar around and maybe hurting him. I figured that if he really wanted to sting me, then obviously I deserved it, but I never got stung once doing that. They all forgave me, since I wasn't trying to hurt them, just interested in checkin' 'em out.

One time an older kid showed me a jar with a bee in it, and a bunch of honeysuckle and bell fowers, with liquid honey in the bottom. She told me that she'd had him for over a week, and that he'd made that honey for her from the flowers that she'd given him. I was awestruck and could barely believe that it was possible. To this day I'm unsure wether she was bullshitting me, since I still do not know much about beekeeping yet.

Bees are really interesting creatures. Their hive social structure is so efficient, and there is no dissent or discontent among any of it's members. Everybobee works for the common good. And they communicate by dancing! that is so neat! The Waggle Dance of the honeybee consists of moving in circles and figures in certain directions, at certain angles, and at certain elevations to convey different meanings. By combining particular moves in particular ways, they can convey messages to their brothers about where and what kind of flowers there are available nearby. I would like to learn more about bees, their social organization, and their Waggle Dancing.

When I keep bees, I want to train them to sit on my face like a beard. But I want to be a pioneer and take beebeards to a whole new level. I will endeavour to teach my hives to make all sorts of different kinds of beards. I want them to be able to do mutton chops and fu-man-chu's, to form curly tipped evil mustaches or a bushy unibrow upon command. I'll teach them different famous historical figures' famous historical facial hair. They'll Abe Lincoln, they'll Vladimir Lenin, they'll Jesus and they'll Marx. And Adolf I will teach to land on my upper lip to Hitler.

In Fight Club, the main character reads a haiku he wrote:
Worker bees can leave
even drones can fly away
the queen is their slave.

Back in the day, I was way in to www.ilovebees.com I got in to it about a month before it ended, but quickly caught up to everyone else who had been trying to figure it out from the begining. To be fair though, information was released slowly, so I had an advantage to catch up on everything that had allready come out. I've totally made Bee-licious Chocolate Chip Cookies from that site too, with Naito. She bugs me that I burned them, but they were just a little overdone, and I took them out at the right time. It's just that things baked with honey cook very fast, and I'd forgotten that we had left nuts out of the recepie and failed to compensate.

So anyways, what this thing was, was a program. It's called Democracy, which imo is an incredibly over ambitious and unwarrented name. But anyway, what it does it let you subscribe to content channels, and then automatically downloads videos to your computer. And it deletes them after 5 days, so it doesn't take up all your disk space.

I saw it advertized in an episode of Threadheads, a show that I saw featured on Youtube, that captured my attention immediately. In the show, they teach neat things to do with clothing, and push a DIY lifestyle. Their philosophy is right up my alley, since I totally agree with their ideas on buying second hand, personal expression over mass manufactured image, reusing and recycling, and not supporting sweatshop labour. I'm totally going to continue buying clothing from thrift stores, and now not only to save money! And I'm going to learn to sew better, so that I can try out more of their suggestions and try to imagine up my own ideas. I spraypainted up a shirt earlier last year, and it was not the best result, but I tried something else with another shirt using tips from the show and it turned out awesome. Specifically, I tried their spraypaint tie dye idea, and it freaking rocks. Turned a crappy dull yellow t-shirt into a crazy-striped black and orange tiger-style vestment! Wu-tang! xd
