OtterlyErin Oh... man... as a rule, I always suggest reading books over movies, but with Dumas.... Well, Man in the Iron Mask was an easier read than Three Musketeers, but that's not saying much, and that may have just been because I'd forced my way through Musketeers. I keep meaning to pick up Count of Monte Cristo, but can't bring myself to do it. The stories are all great. That's why they've been made as movies a hundred and one times. But his way of writing... To paraphrase a completely different author (Alan Dean Foster) and only in the most obscure way related books (Spellsinger series)... He rarely uses one word where twelve can be shoehorned in.  I see. So he wrote those books? I'm surprised i haven't heard of him. whee
