Wood cutting. Mal tried to think of it like that, hacking at the bird with what strength he had left, and trying not to lose the hilt of the sword in his grip. He ached, but it was more tiredness and breathlessness.

Tara took another shot, gritting her teeth and trying to focus on the fight. It was hard. She wanted to go over to Rob to make sure he was ok. She wanted to find Mathilda. She wanted to go check on Sid and make sure she was getting treated for her injuries.
Instead, she aimed another arrow at the bird that had injured them all. Potentially, was the one that caused all the problem to begin with. It hit, dead on, and for that, she was immensely happy. If she could do nothing else, she needed to make sure she helped take this beast down.

Brian cursed as he missed. How had he missed from so near the bird?! It almost felt like some horrible twist of random fate outside of his control. Not to be deterred, he fired again.

Damnit. Ernst had to do better than this if he was going to prevent it from hurting, well, everyone else.
The bird did look like it was faltering, though. He took a breath and bashed his shield up against its stomach very repeatedly, just so that he could be sure he was hitting it. He definitely heard - and felt - the hits himself, though. Maybe...maybe it would be a good idea to try to run the hell out of the way, in case this thing was gonna fall directly on top of him. He was already not doing too great.

Just as quickly, it seemed she was back to terrible. She didn't understand why it seemed that practice--she'd done well and she'd done terrible, yes--didn't guarantee any improvement. It just felt so random. At least she was hitting the damn target. Although it appeared the bird was dead now. So how good that did... Marisol's Health: 43 HP

Regardless of how well the bird was doing now, Brian was a little miffed at having missed. He grabbed an arrow in his hand and jabbed the bird as if it were a melee weapon. The arrow broke in half, but at least it met metal!

Briiva saw the bird start to falter and fired away. It would seem that her focus was waning though; the arrow went off target, glancing a wing harmlessly. Still, it looked like they might have finally killed that damn thing. Just in case, Briiva knelt over Beth.

The damn thing was on its last leg, if even that, its great metal form creaking and bent in so many places. In its death throes, it still didn't make a sound itself, but Davor had to admit he very much enjoyed the great clang and clash he could make, fear and rage colliding like his war-hammer crashing against it over and over and over.
