Opening him up to one side really helped her get a good shot in, and the trident sank deep into the bull's face, hurting it enough to send it rearing up on it's hind legs. She didn't let go, flailing uselessly in the air until it came crashing back down. The trident dislodged with a clatter, and she fell with it, right on her a**.

He let Maebe have her fill and wondered if that was really a good idea. Distracting the bull was all well and good, but there were little signs that said her leg wasn't completely healed yet. He snorted and growled at the bull, did everything he could to keep it from rampaging too much while she was seated on it, but the moment she was thrown off, he decided enough was enough.

With one clean hit, the bull went down. Then Dawson set upon Maebe like a vulture at a carcass, though rather than peck at her innards, he insisted they looked at her leg. He didn't have runic bandages, which only now seemed to be a major mistake on his part. As soon as he could, he needed to do that training course. Heroic band aids could only do so much. "Yer gonna take a break t'let this heal," he told Maebe. "Alrigh'?" hp: 30 damage: 8 BOSS: dead Stamina: 13

The vulture received no retaliation, as she stretched out and let him see it. But it was still wrapped up tightly in bandages, and any problems lay deep within, under the skin and cloth. "It is healed." She muttered out through a pout, waving her hands up in exasperation. "Didn't you see me? Up there? I mean, really, I'd have to be out of my mind to do any of that with a really injured leg." Thaw scoffed. Loudly. She rubbed one ear with a finger and then tried to stand up. "We rest when we've gotten as far as we can go, remember? That's how we do this thing." She leaned on him heavily, and waved in the direction of the lake. "For me, that's usually right around there, when I take naps while you adventure like Indiana Jones. It's a match made in heaven."

He might have taken her word for it of she hadn't leaned on him so much on the way over. Dawson levelled her pointed looks ( we go as far as we can on non-injured legs), but the vines were already eager to get at them as they approached, so there was little he could do other than hope Maebe would stay okay. "Just makin' sure is all." Maybe he was a little vindictive when he tore the vines out on the way to the other side. Stamina: 10

The vines deserved his vicious roughness. A sharp grunt left her when she was dragged back to shore, each time using the legs that she'd been trying to lay off of. When she snuck by the third time, she took extra care; which meant she'd spent so long tiptoeing through, that it began to look a little comical. But she made it, eventually. Now, her leg was sore. It was always those damn vines that did it. As if they knew. "Long rest after this time." She put her hand up in the air. "I promise." Stamina: 7

"M'not the one who needs restin'," he protested, like the constant battling didn't batter him. But a nice long nap did sound nice...
Grumbling as scarabs coated him, he started to try and brush them off while staring down the judging metal bird.

That sure was a tempting idea. "But the thing you want inside will probably be blown to s**t, too. After all this work.. that would be too much of a shame." At least their path into the temple was clear this time around.

The vines grabbed her, and tugged her back to the start.
"If I didn't want to be here," She started again, once she caught up to him in the lake, but the vines had other plans.
"If I didn't oh forget it." The black sludge was enough to really ruin her point.
