"My pokemon is not cute," Ray grumbled under his breath, glaring at Cole who was giggling and rubbing his head into Rose's cheek. His tail wriggled, its owner no longer paying attention. After a moment Ray reached forward and pulled the tail away from Rose, just enough to make sure she didn't get burned. "Yeah, adorable." They were both looking at him, cheeks smooshed together. It did look pretty funny... he cracked a smile. She'd probably never act this way if she knew who he really was.
Still, after a while of walking with Rose still holding his charmander, Ray was eyeing her more and more. Given his background he noted it was almost like Rose had subtly stolen his own pokemon. He even checked his pocket for the pokeball, for a split second thinking this girl was some mastermind who had swindled him out of his charmander. Nope. The ball was still there. She was just... an overenthusiastic trainer. Ray didn't really think someone like her would have a bad bone in her body. She said she was twenty, which he nodded too. A little older than he'd thought, but close to his guess if he- "What! I'm not ten! I'm thirteen," he said. Damn, she was actually "seven" years older than him. No wonder she treated him like a kid. Rose was completely unaware that Cole's tail was even in danger of burning her, nor did she catch her companion's grumble. With her face smooshed against Cole's she looked at Ray, and giggled as he cracked a smile. After another gentle squeeze, Rose set Cole down, giving him a pat on the head. "Cole is really neat~ I should probably get a charmander of my own..." she commented, seriously considering it. Despite the large amount of pokemon she already had that needed to be trained.
The red head cracked up laughing at Ray's response to her guess. "Heehee~ I'm sorry! I just figured... you look so young, and most trainers start at age ten, right?" she explained herself, apologizing. It seemed they were about to finally enter the city. "Should we go to the pokemon center first or-" Rose started to ask, but was cut off by Fynx. "HEY! Get back here! ROSE LOOK OUT!" Fynx shouted, running towards them. Also running towards Rose was a fluffy black and rainbow colored canine. And it plowed right into Rose, knocking her over just as she turned her head in curiosity.
"Oof!" Rose grunted as she hit the ground with a solid thud, the odd pokemon sprawled on top of her, seeming to be having a hard time getting its bearings. Fynx came running in, grabbing the wolf by the scruff of its neck and lifting it off of her trainer. "Rose, are you okay?" the Delphox asked. Rose sat up, rubbing the back of her head and getting to her feet. It was certainly a surprise, and she was a bit sore, but upon getting a better look at the mysterious pokemon, she was... well, bedazzled. "WHOA! OH MY GOD! WHAT IS IT? IT'S SO CUUUUTE!!!" Rose exclaimed, quick to get close, but Fynx held the pokemon just out of reach. "She's been following us for a while and won't tell me why or anything." Fynx huffed, obviously frustrated. The dog like pokemon made an odd sound, tail wagging a bit. "I'mma catch her!" Rose declared, pulling out a pokeball and capturing the mystery pokemon with ease, as if it had maybe wanted to be captured.
After the successful capture, she let the pokemon back out before her. The pokemon was about a foot shorter than her. Rose pulled out her pokedex to find out what the pokemon was. "A Mareve? hmm... I think I'll name her... Iris." Rose muttered, then declared the chosen nickname. Iris had no objections, sniffing around. The red head then returned her attention to Ray. Putting the selection of items away, Sylva then dusted herself off, turning to Luca with a nod. "I'm fine. With tall grass around here, it's hard to tell where the wild Pokemon are." Sylva mentioned, looking back towards Scarselli. "Thanks for the catch." The Anchor seemingly bobbed, floating forward, along with Wixon who then passed right by Sylva and into the tall grass. There was a moment of odd sounds and rustling grass before Wixon finally emerged once more, looking fairly beat up, but no worse for the wear. Knelling down beside the Cubone, She allowed Sylva to spritz her a bit with some potions, but Sylva noted something off about Wixon... she looked.. "Did whatever you just fight poison you?" Luca decided to stick close to her companion for the time being, just in case she had another little slip like that. She looked away to watch another quick battle between her Dragonite and another Spearow, not noticing Sylva's Cubone reemerging from the brush until the redhead addressed her again. Her head tilted back to see the poisoned Winxton.
The swordswoman grimaced a little, before taking a seat on the earth and digging through her bag. She mumbled something to herself as she shifted around the items she had, like she was listing off each one as she moved them out of the way. "Hold on just a sec, I think there might be something in here..." Eventually, Luca found the little box she had all her berries put into, keeping them from getting squished in her bag. "Here we go!" Drawing out the bag, she opens up the small, transparent box, digging out a green berry with an odd, ovoid shape to it. "Here, these things should be able to cure status ailments."

Sylva furrowed her brow slight, after seeing Luca pull out a berry from her bag. "You sure? A berry like that seems like it.." Looking down again she noticed Wixon's gaze as the Cubone looked up at her. Despite the Cubone not expressing much, it couldn't hide the pain it was feeling from the poison. Sylva signed... she couldn't refuse could she? "Thanks, Luca..." Grabbing the berry, she offered it down to Wixon, who quickly chomped up the berry, each crunch releasing the stored juices that soaked up the poison in Wixon's system. With a few potions, Wixon was back in fighting order. Just in time too, as a Rattata emerged from the grass snatching up a crumb of the Lum berry Wixon had just eaten. The Cubone took no time to hesitate, bonking the Rattata on the head with her bone club. From there, the Cubone easily took care of the rat, leaving Sylva to stand back up, offering a hand to Luca. "I owe you... another one." The red-head grinned. First clothes, now a super rare berry? What else was Sylva going to take?

"I'm very sure," Luca insisted, pushing the berry into Sylva's hand as she hesitated to take it. She smiled a bit when she relented, taking the Lum Berry from her and giving it to the little, poisoned dino. The swordswoman chuckled happily as she closed her bag and slung it back over her shoulder, standing with her companion and taking the hand offered to her. "Don't mention it, I've got plenty more. It probably wouldn't be that difficult to get more, just gotta get a tree planted." She didn't think too much of it, especially considering the berry wasn't particularly rare. She got it in a store, so it couldn't be that rare, right? Either way, Luca didn't mind it. As long as they were traveling together, she needed to help out where she could.

Plant a tree? Sylva offered a chuckle at that. More so on the idea of seeing Luca standing over some pots of soil with a tiny sprout popping up out of it, holding a watering can and whistling a little tune. "I never had much patience for gardening." Sylva mentioned. "But I do like taking pictures of plants." She quickly added, holding up her camera to one of her eyes. "I wouldn't mind catching a gardener in the act." She grinned. There was a bit of rustling in the grass nearby, which caught Sylva's attention. Another Pokemon that Wixon had found? This one was large enough however to bend the grass down, showing a large purple body slithering towards them. "Woah!" Holding up her camera once more, the red-head scoped out the giant serpent. When it lifted it's head, she was... confused. "That's an Ekans right?" She questioned, noting it's size... it looked almost bigger than an Arbok, it's evolved form. Now that was one unique snake. She had to have it! Letting Wixon do her thing, Sylva primed a Pokeball, ready to capture the serpent.
Seeing it faint, Sylva tossed a Pokeball. Even though it was knocked out, the snake still managed to break free from the ball. Unable to move, Sylva tossed another ball, determined to capture it. This time the ball shook three times, and sealed. The Ekans was hers.

She couldn't help but chuckle back at her companion's admissions about gardening, her camera up over her face and grinning widely. "Heh, maybe I'll have to take up the hobby then. If we ever happen to be in Unova, there might be a few places where you can get a good shot of that." Luca was only partially joking, before both of their attentions were drawn towards the grass parting near them. The woman blinked a few times, at least... Reasonably certain that Ekans aren't supposed to get that large. "I... Think it's supposed to be." She noted before a sharp sound from behind caught her attention.
She hadn't realized it, but Luca's Gardevoir had been standing behind them, leaning on her scythe as she tried to get a look at the Pokemon approaching as well. When the purple snake emerged, Priscilla let out a startled squeak, shivering with a bit of fear as she tried to hide behind her trainer. It was one thing for it to be a serpent, it was something else entirely for to be that big of a serpent. Her trainer simply laughed quietly and patted the psychic's head, while the redhead went about catching it at all costs. "Well, seems you caught something interesting," She said, speaking over the low groan of the fluffy dragon.

Go ahead and get your own Charmander, Ray thought to himself. He had this childish desire to take Cole back and hug the thing to his chest possessively. He shook his head, instead letting Rose set him back on the ground. Cole of course waddled up to Ray and raised his arms, as if to say, 'up, Papa'. Dammit Rose. Teaching bad habits. "Yeah, sure kids start then, but you can't seriously think I look ten. I guess you don't look as old as twenty though." Girls were always self-conscious about looking young around Rose's age, so that oughta teach her to call him a kid. Though she hadn't actually called him a kid just now...
Ray spun at the first sign of danger. He saw the blur headed for them and instinctively he jumped back, away from Rose. He watched the thing barrel into her, black and a gaudy rainbow. How does a thing like that...survive in the wild? It had wings that screamed "stick me on a plaque and stuff me full of fluff" or whatever it was poachers did with their catches. That thing would probably fetch a pretty penny for someone's private zoo. Of course, before he could do anything Rose had sucked it up into a pokeball of her own. Ray ran a hand through his hair, blowing air out his mouth. You gotta be kidding. I know people who'd kill for a rare thing like that and it just walks up to her and hops inside the pokeball.
To be fair, wasn't his klow rare? That ranger had practically shoved it down Ray's shirt to get him to keep it. He much preferred the sensible blue glow to this thing's 5-year-old-girl with a set of markers look. Well, the thing would be nearby and Rose would be easy to- well, yeah. If he wanted to. "Mm, I'm hungry. Lunch?"

Rose pondered about what Ray said about looking a certain age. She merely shrugged with a smile as he had pointed out she didn't look her age. It didn't bother her at all. She wouldn't even understand why it should bother her. After all, she wasn't an average twenty year old girl.
Then Rose got plowed over by a Mareve, eventually capturing it and naming her Iris. The Mareve sniffed around, stumbling over any irregularities in the path. The wolf could sense the living things with aura, but ultimately was still blind. Rose ruffled the fur on Iris' head with a smile, then returned her to the safety of her pokeball before returning her attention to Ray. Fynx was giving Ray a suspicious look from the other side of Rose, ears perked. The Delphox didn't have a stalker-pokemon to distract her anymore so she was back on guard about the apparent child. "Oh~ Lunch does sound pretty good right now. Let's go!" Rose smiled, then continued walking into the city, making her way to the pokemon center. Sparx trailed along behind, still trying to figure out how or why a pokemon like that Mareve would have just run in and willingly get captured by Rose. He wasn't sure, but he chalked it up to some kind of aura about her. Fynx, meanwhile, stayed close to Rose, watching for any trouble from Ray. Tucking the newly caught snake's ball into her bag, the red-head turned to Luca with a grin. "Yea. I've never seen an Ekans that big." She replied. "Then again, I grew up in a city. An Ekans that big wouldn't last long there." She added, shrugging a bit. "Anyway... I think we can head into town now, I'm kinda hungry. All this trainin' and catchin' has given me the munchies something fierce." What Sylva spoke was true. An Ekans that big, either it'd of gotten stuck in a sewer pipe, or spotted long before it got to it's natural length. Though, if no one killed the poor things, they were usually relocated someplace else. Part of the reason why Sylva favored Poison-types wasn't because she wanted to poison the world... that was a reason, but not the reason. She just hated how misunderstood Poison-types were. What most saw as vermin and a nuisance, she saw as beautiful and a means to solve problems, like the rising population of more invasive species. Ekans specifically, weren't really one to attack humans on a whim, they'd retreat before engaging into combat... which was odd, given the Ekans that Sylva had just caught approached them so openly. Perhaps wild Ekans were just different compared to city snakes.
Meanwhile, Wixon was met with a Sandshrew not to far off from where they were standing. The two locked themselves into battle, which Wixon easily won. Tottering back over to Sylva to do her typical stare-until-she-notices routine.

Wonder what made it get that huge, Luca thought, as Sylva seemed almost proud to've caught the giant thing. Well, as long as she was happy with it, and it was nice and tame, she could ignore it. "Yeah, I know what you mean. Hopefully if we're quick enough we might miss any sort of rush going on." While the older woman wasn't quite as hungry as her companion, she knew the redhead didn't exactly have the kind of stamina that she had. It'd probably be best to go somewhere they can sit down and order some good food quick, without being caught up in the usual dinner rush of the day. At the very least, the swordswoman just didn't want to settle for fast food, so when they finally entered town, she took the lead, and went off in search of that food.
After traveling a few minutes down some of the thinner roads, and past the small, dispersed crowd that populated it, Luca felt like she might've found a good spot. She came to a stop in front of a building made of black wood, with red accents highlighting its frame. It was squished between two separate stores, and the interior was visible through a large, glass pane beside the door. Looking in, it seemed like a full restaurant, disguised as a 1980's diner. Smooth, finished wood all around, red cushions on the seats and similar fabrics sitting behind various decorations to make them stand out. She could almost make out a display case with a long row of old, tacky hood ornaments from the same era, each with a different pokemon in a different pose.
The food didn't seem too limited either; she spotted one person chowing down on a full course meal made up almost entirely of exotic food colorings on vanilla ice cream, another eating a fairly standard burger and fries, while one more a little closer to the window ate an almost uncomfortably large steak, with a small bowl of rice next to it for... Variety, she guessed? Either way, it didn't seem like they would have much trouble finding food here. "What do you think of this place," Luca finally asked, pulling her head away from the glass. "You wanna eat here?"

Following after Luca, Sylva's stomach eventually began to gurgle in anticipation of getting yet another meal in it. It was rare to have to meals in a day, especially ones that consisted more than just scraps. Though, Sylva was half expecting Luca to lead them to a Pokemon Center, for free food. When they came to a stop though, they were in some back alley, looking at what appeared to be an attempt at a Unovian restaurant. "Uhh..." Sylva muttered. How she wanted to refuse, since she had no money to pay for the meal.... but the smell... Oh, it was heavenly. "A-alright. But this is the last time I'm going to ask you to pay for me, honest!" Sylva then took the lead, heading into the Resturant.
"Howdy, darlin'~" Voiced an older lady, dressed like a waitress from the same era the diner was trying to mimic. "Pick a seat, I'll be with ya in just a moment." She added, motioning towards a few booths that were still open. Sylva picked one and slid inside, Looking back to see Scarselli staring through the window. "Oh, uhh.... yea, Scar you're a bit to big for this place." Calling back the anchor, Sylva looked down to find Wixon at her side. The Cubone was more size appropriate for the diner. Leaning down she scooped the Cubone up onto the seat beside her, pulling out a few potions to heal her up while they waited.

She chuckled a bit when Sylva's hesitation melted away with a waft of scented air coming from the diner. She gave her companion a small pat, hoping to reassure her again. "Sure, sure, don't worry so much about it," Luca told her, before turning to return Priscilla to her pokeball. She could probably fit in the building well enough, but with that tail, she might attract more attention than they wanted right now... Not to mention, the last thing she wanted was for something to spill onto the snowy, clear fluff.
When they entered the resturant, her eyes fell upon their waitress, an older girl who was probably only a little older than Luca. Probably on the other half of her twenties or perhaps her early thirties, if she had to guess. Either way, it didn't detract much from her looks, bringing a sly grin to the swordswoman's face. She didn't say anything yet though, only following Sylva into the booth and sitting opposite of her.
"Seems like a nice place, huh?" She eventually mentioned once they were all settled, her gaze tracing the waitress' slight sway in her step. Luca didn't exactly come in expecting something for her eyes, but she certainly couldn't complain.

Watching the waiter approach, all that was on Sylva's mind was food. She was unaware of the impure thoughts swirling around Luca's head. When the waitress stopped just before their table, she set down a couple waters before either of the girls, then offered down a menu. "Good to see something young in this joint for a change." The waitress smiled. "Todays specials are the Tamato Berry Soup, and Clampearl Chowder. No actual Clampearls are in the chowder, mind yea." She chuckled. "For now, can I get'cha anything to drink?" Tucking her tray under her arm, the woman then pulled out a notepad from her pouch, grabbing a pen that had previously rested behind her ear. Leaning into one leg, she let her hip hang out some. This woman's acting was superb, she seemed like she'd literally come from an ol'timey diner.
Sylva scanned the back of the menu for the drinks, pointing to the soda seciton. "A Root Beer, please." She stated, then quickly went back to looking over the food choices. "One Sarsaparilla..., And for you, miss?" She glanced over towards Luca, switching her weight to her other hip.
