The shrine was dry. It was dry and it kept her safe from the rain outside that hurt. She didn't like it, did not like the feelings of pain she could now feel. She much preferred the warms that was from before, yet that was in a way called into question. It had faded, and now she had to go gather things for the goddesses to become one. The steps towards being a goddess. Still, floating orbs of grey light called, and she was lured like so many others. They hung in the air, in the rain, Nala scowled at that fact, yet still, she would try to get them.
As she reached out into the rain the warm orb came into her grasp along with a word. 'Trinket'. It made her flinch, and she didn't know why.
It was probably just the rain.

Nala had one fragment that the Goddess asked for, yet she needed others. She needed to become more. Again, reaching into rain, it's sing didn't compare to the word in her mind. 'Mule.'
Then the word was gun, down the drain, just like water, leaving on the warm fragment behind.

Like Ryjer, Marati lunged for the pair of fragments; sadly, her attempt came up fruitless.

The next fragment she saw floating was in a small alley, covered by old broken boards. Yet it was dark and debris blocked the path. That little bit of warmth would be denied to her.

A heavy sigh, she saw another only to watch it be sent flying away when a crumbling building decided it would be of no aid to her. Better to be denied than to be crushed she supposed.

Again and again, she kept missing the orbs of grey, denied warmth, denied a chance to become a goddess. A glance up, the orb hanging by another light, a lamp, and Nala took the opportunity. A small climb, she managed to snatch it from the air before tumbling back down.

Vae was a kind soul, stopping by to say hello. That or bored, Maiden was not too sure, but he waved back regardless. "Hi i'm Maiden -Ack!" there problems to be had, waving rambunctiously near a self dug pit as he made a scream and went in with a crash. "I'm ok!..... whatever that means!"
The digging was that you can dig yourself into trouble, this much Maiden was learning the hard way. Going further and further into the spare part pile for gems didn't much of an option for climbing back out. Frankly he was breathing a sigh of relief that nothing was falling on top of him but a gem decided it wanted to commit gemicide on his head.
The feeling that this happened before washed over, the deja vu was palpable. but with piles and piles of packaged pink stuff and not of potentially dangerous metal.

A small flight of stairs, they turned from stone to wood and got weaker with each step. Caution, she moved slowly, eyes looking forward, not down or up. Thats when she saw it, the corner of her eye, a grey orb in the air. Snatching it, warmth and a word. 'Young'. It was spoken kindly yet it stung and she didn't quite know why.
Rain was not like words.

Across the creaking floor, looking out the window, the fragment sat on a flower bed just across from her. She reached in the rain, winced at it's pain, even as warmth filled her hand.
'Cute'. A male's voice, warm just like the fragment. For the first time, Nala smiled, her task completed.

Amati hovered, uncertainly, at the edge of the street where it started to get a little darker. A spark floated just out of reach, no matter how far she stretched to try and get it without taking that last step out of the light.
Well, one step wouldn't be so bad. She wanted to know what the spark said. She took that step and her fingers easily closed around the fragment.

She didn't want to linger too long in the darkness, not when there was so much else to see and explore in the light. She let the lights overhead dictate her path, following them nowhere in particular. They eventually lead her to a junkyard, sparkling on spare and discarded parts, making them look a little less like trash; they seemed to glitter with potential.
There were so many questions to be asked here: whose stuff was this? What had it all once been? And, the always present why was it here?
She saw a fragment and plucked it out of the air. "Hey, you, big guy." She smiled at the warmth the words held, even if she didn't retain the memory of them. It wasn't long before she realized that she wasn't the only one here, the sound of another person moving around almost too loud in the otherwise quiet space. "Hello?" Amati called out. "Is someone there?"
