Balthazar merely raised an eyebrow at the slave's small show of defiance. So she still had some fight in her after all. Good, he preferred it that way. Rising from his seat, Balthazar stepped closer towards the slave. Using his left hand, he grabbed a hold of the slave's chin and forced her to look back at him instead of the floor. In a calm but firm voice he told her, "Watch your tone little girl. I'm in a forgiving mood so I'll let that one slide. Next time do not speak unless spoken to."

Releasing her chin, Balthazar stepped back. With a calculative gaze, he casually circled around Rowena to evaluate her further. Short. Petite. She was a good size for a pet. Her subdued demeanor was to his liking. The last thing he needed was a rambunctious puppy making a mess of his home. But despite her submissive nature, he sensed she has some backbone. That would aid her well if she had the unfortunate opportunity of meeting his brother. Still he needed to make sure she was comfortable with his touch. It would not due to have a pet who shies away from their master's attention.

Raising a hand, he caressed the side of her face. Her skin was soft and supple. His hand and his gaze continued down further to her neck. Unconsciously he couldn't help but lick his lips. "Beautiful..." he murmured softly. Her neck was unmarred from any marks and scars and that pleased him greatly. Perhaps he would partake in feeding from his pet, but not yet. Not until he had her fully under his command. Balthazar was a patient man, he could wait.

Breaking contact with her, Balthazar returned to his earlier position of lounging in the love seat. Her file said she was well behaved, if not a little withdrawn, but he wanted to see how she took to his commands with his own eyes. So far she had been compliant, if not a little reluctant but he wanted to see more. "Come here and kneel at my feet."

When he rose from the chair and stepped towards her, Rowena instinctively took a step back away from him, eyes going a bit wide. He was much taller than her and at that moment, she really wanted him to go away and get out of the room. Instead he grabbed her chin, making her flinch at the touch. She unwilling stared up at him, partly from fright and partly from defiance, when he told her not to speak unless spoken to. She hated hearing that, it made her sound like a child, and the young woman would have bite his hand - if she were a braver sort. Rowena wasn't, however much she hated herself for being meek, and simply swallowed down the lump that was forming in her throat. It was simply an echo of the knot growing in her stomach. The longer the man was there, the worse it was getting.

Having him move his hand from her face should have been a relief, but instead it was only worse when he began to circle her like a vulture. The young woman slouched a bit, looking back down at the floor as soon as she was able to, and bit her lip while she tried to ignore the feeling of his eyes on her. At least it wasn't a sexual sort of look, even she could tell that. It was more like he was appraising her, like she was a thing to be bought. Well, that was exactly what she was here, she reminded herself sourly, so she guessed that was the perfect interpretation of his attitude. The last thing she had expected was for him to caress her face, however, and her head shot up a little bit out of surprise to look at him. Faint color rose in her cheeks, from embarrassment and nothing more, and she shied away as his hand moved to her neck. She didn't like people touching that, it was too vulnerable and her worry so preoccupied her mind that Rowena didn't overhear his muttered comment about her neck.

She remained still when he sat back down, wanting to move away again, but having a feeling if she did he'd drag her over or something like that. When she heard the derogatory order, however, she bit her lip for a moment before shaking her head. Inside she was petrified and outside she was stiff, showing how nervous she was, but she wouldn't do it. That was just too much - kneel at his feet? If he wanted someone to kneel at his feet, he could go find someone else. The young woman clearly had some pride left, a stubborn streak a mile long if something annoyed her. "I won't do that," she murmured to the floor, looking back down so her gaze was filled with the plush carpet she walked on every day for what seemed like years.

Truthfully he didn't care whether she knelt or not, he merely wanted to see what was her limits. Instead of being annoyed at the girl's refusal, Balthazar was amused. It was cute in a way, like a little kitten attempting to take a swipe at its master before retreating into a safe corner. The thought made the side if his lip twitch, a smirk close to forming on his face. "Interesting..." he murmured.

This is why he preferred a human companion over another immortal. They were unpredictable and fascinating. Others of his kind would disagree with him though. She would be classified as weak and easily breakable by his peers. If she could hold her own against him, then clearly that wouldn't be an issue, at least to some extent. If he really wanted to, Balthazar could easily overpower the girl and make her kneel. But he wouldn't. He was known for having a firm hand, but she was not his slave yet. And more importantly, he believed in having the punishment fit the crime. She had yet to do anything drastic enough that called for him to physically reprimand her. At least not yet.

I think I like this one, he mused. Although he had made his decision about purchasing her, Balthazar now needed this girl to come to him willingly. Despite his forceful nature, he refuse to take on a pet who does not want him.

With an inaudible sigh, Balthazar briefly closed his eyes before leveling Rowena with a calculative gaze. "And why won't you kneel Rowena?" he asked. Clearly she didn't like to be reminded of her position as a slave. He guessed that perhaps she was recently brought into her current position. By who, Balthazar could not say but that was another mystery for another day. He doubted Rowena would be so willing to share her past with him so soon.

Rowena. He liked the sound of her name when he spoken it outloud for the first time. He had intentionally called her by her given name instead of 'slave' or 'girl' to see if that would change her demeanor in anyway. He wanted to see if he could get an reaction from her other than nervousness and quiet indignation. He made her nervous, she knew by lawful standards he could do whatever he wished with her. But yet she denied him, he wanted to know why.

Staring down at her feet, the young woman waited anxiously for some sort of retaliation. She didn't know what the rules were in this place and for all she knew, he could do anything he wanted to her and no one would care. While he sat in silence, absorbed in his thoughts, her mind was racing too fast to form a coherent idea in her brain. He was dangerous and she'd had to go and make a stand, she thought, almost dismayed at herself. She was a fool, she knew, and Rowena hated the silence, the waiting. All it did was make her worry about what he was thinking, what he was planning on doing to her for not doing as he said.

Hearing him say her name, she flinched a bit. His tone was so cold and she hated hearing her name spoken like that - like it didn't really belong to her at the end of the day, but was something she had borrowed. They all sounded like that, like her name wasn't her own, like nothing was her own anymore, and it made her feel stripped of everything that had made up her identity. It was awful and only made the quiet girl more reticent, more reluctant to speak or look at anyone. Biting her lip at the question, Rowena took in a breath and held it, wondering what to say. In the end, she doubted it would matter and that he'd simply laugh at any explanation. Once she had realized that, it seemed to make it easier to speak - like she was talking to herself rather than the man sitting in front of her.

"I'm already a 'thing'," she mumbled, keeping her gaze on the carpet. "You don't have to rub it in. It's humiliating." It was all the truth and she didn't know a better way to explain herself. But it made sense to her and that was what mattered - who cared what he thought, he certainly didn't care what she thought, she was sure of that. She didn't have the faintest clue he was already considering buying her and thought he was just there to toy with her. The last few people that had come in to see her hadn't actually been interested in her at all, just wanted to examine the 'human' and see why she was there.

Not knowing what else to say, the young woman simply fell silent. She glanced up for a brief moment at the man, just a heartbeat's quickness, before her eyes returned to the dull scene at her feet. He looked...almost amused and she guessed he thought it was funny, getting to toy with someone who couldn't fight back. Biting her lip again, she waited for him to be done with her so she could go back to...doing whatever it was she could find to do. Maybe read more.

"Fair enough." he conceded she had a point. Granted the chance of him talking down to her in the future was a still high, but he would strive to make some effort in giving her some say.

"So then tell me Rowena, is there anything I need to be aware of before purchasing you? Hobbies or dislikes and such?" He had already made up his mind, this girl would be his. If he was going to purchase her, it would be best if she had some type of comfort he could give her. Supplies of any kind could be easily purchased. If he recalled correctly, her file said she used to paint. Perhaps he could have his staff clear out one of the unused guest rooms and convert it into an art studio. But he was getting ahead of himself. He didn't know if she still could paint. As to how she would take to his decision was unclear. She still seemed uncomfortable in his presence, but he doubted she would want to spend the rest of her days in a slave shop. Humans had such a short lifespan, it was no wonder why many immortals did not take them on as slaves. They would be gone in a flash and they'd have to purchase a new slave within a few decades.

Receiving no immediate answer from Rowena, Balthazar surmised she was either in shock or didn't believe he was serious about taking her on. Maybe he needed to be a little more clearer. "If you have any personal belongings that you hold dear, be sure to take them alone with you. If there's anything you need, I need to know now so we may purchase them before heading out." As an afterthought, he remembered his brother Gregory had returned home from his trip.

"I'm giving you a forewarning now, my brother is expecting me to come home with a 'pet' of some sort." Balthazar figured she would find the term pet insulting so he shrugged and added on before she could respond, "His words, not mine. If he offends you in anyway you have my permission to drop kick him at your earliest convenience." He meant it as a joke, but if she did take his words to heart, Balthazar wouldn't mind seeing her giving his dear brother a dressing down. That is, if Gregory doesn't overwhelm her first. His brother wasn't the mean spirited kind, but he had an uncanny ability of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.

Wait...he was asking her? Staring at him, she couldn't quite comprehend the fact that he was buying her, let alone asking her if there was 'anything he had to be aware of'. He spoke oddly, in a formal sort of way she noticed, but that took second-place to the fact that someone wanted to buy her. And it had to be someone like...well, whatever he was. He couldn't be human, Rowena was sure of that, but as to what he was, she had no idea. Why he wanted her, she couldn't take a guess at either. But she finally started to pay attention to his words and at hearing him say "drop kick" like that, the faintest sort of giggle escaped her before her face fell still again.

"Umm....I don't have any personal belongings here," Rowena told him quietly, after a moment's thought. She had been brought here with nothing but the clothing on her back and nothing in the room was hers to take with her, save the collar on her neck. "So, I need...clothes and stuff...and paint supplies," she added, her voice going even softer at the mention of her hobby. She had wanted to go to college for it, make it a career, but that had fallen flat without any support or encouragement. Now it was just the only thing that made her happy to do, to feel productive, and not being able to use her hands made the place even worse than it already was. And it was embarrassing to have to admit she was dependent completely on him - then again, if he was buying her, that should be par for the course, she mused.

Thinking it over, Rowena glanced up at him again. "What am I supposed to be doing?" she asked, suspicion clear in her voice. She had no reason to trust him or even like him, after all, and she had been told stories about why people bought human slaves. None of the stories ever had a happy ending and she wasn't keen to be another story told. Not that she had a choice, she reminded herself firmly. It wasn't like she was in the position to pick and choose, even if she had the ability to. No, a slave went where they were told and nothing more, she thought dismally. It was depressing to realize that was what her entire life was going to be from now on, someone's 'pet'.

A smile briefly flickered across his face when she giggled. Good, at least they were making some progress. However when she mentioned she had no personal items, Balthazar frowned. That would not do. Her request for paint supplies did please him though. Ah so she does still indeed paint. Balthazar made sure to make a mental note to follow through with his plans of creating an art studio.

Taking out his cell phone, he sent out a quick text to various staff members to prepare for Rowena's arrival. Her room needed to be prepared and aired out, the chef needed to be notified that he had another mouth to cook for, and his security detail needed to be informed she was cleared wander his estate. Also he needed to send a text to his brother about behaving around his new pet. "Considering your lack of personal items, we will stop by the shopping center to purchase your needed necessities." It would be negligent on his part if he did not make sure she had everything she needed. "I will also have to stop by my family's bank to create your personal bank account. Naturally it will be linked to mine and will have certain restrictions, but the funds given to you should suffice."

When she asked about his intentions of purchasing her, he decided being honest with her would be his best course of action. "I keep late hours due to my work schedule. The daytime is for you to do with as you wish, as long as you don't try to escape or try leave the grounds without my expressed permission. You will take your evening meals with me and spend a couple hours of your nights keeping me company in my study."

To him it sounded reasonable enough. He was usually never awake when the sun was out, with today being an obvious exception, so it made sense to give her some freedom while he was asleep. Humans he recalled weren't normally night-owls so it seemed only fair to assume Rowena preferred to be active in the day and sleep at night. But he had already assumed so much. Glancing down at the girl, he asked "Will that be a problem?"

It was sort of a surprise, to see him have a cell phone. He was so formal and old-fashioned - at least he acted like it - that seeing him use the phone and send out texts was a bit jarring. Listening to him, Rowena wasn't sure whether to be grateful or resentful at being bought things. She had been plenty independent all her life, thanks to her parents, and now that it was all taken away she wasn't sure how to feel. Part of her knew it would be easy to be lazy, to just be cute and sweet and let someone buy her things. But then she really would be nothing more than a pet and the idea made her shudder every time it crossed her mind.

Bank? What now? She blinked a few times, hearing something about a personal account, and that made no sense to her. Why would a slave - a pet - have a personal bank account, or any money at all?

            He was...very strange.

Rowena was silent as he explained what he wanted her for. Company. Well, he didn't seem to imply he wanted 'that' sort of company, if it was in his study, and the matter-of-fact way he worded everything made her relax just a touch. She shook her head at the question, reaching up to brush some hair out of her green eyes. "No, that won't be a problem at all. It sounds...nice," she admitted, hesitant about telling him that. But it was the truth, it was much better than everything she had heard and imagined herself while she was sitting here doing nothing at all save for waiting. She liked nighttime anyway - she never stayed up all night, but she'd be up late, painting or reading or just watching television. It was more peaceful when the sun went down and she always found she could relax more.

Shifting from foot to foot before her legs went to sleep from standing, the young woman clasped her hands behind her back. "...I'm not very interesting," she warned him quietly, glancing up at him. If he wanted someone to keep him company, he'd be better off getting someone else. All she was going to do was disappoint him and then she'd be right back here for someone else to look over like she was a piece at an auction and decide she was 'lacking' in whatever they wanted.

"Good." It had appeared he might have overwhelmed her with too much information. She appeared to be stunned by what he was offering to her. Although he had a lot, money never really meant much to Balthazar. He rarely used it so he might as well let her have some access to his massive fortune. She was going to be his now and he always took care of what's his.

He noticed she still seemed hesitant though. As to why he did not know. He had thought he had made his intentions very clear, However when she mentioned how he would possibly find her company uninspiring, he had to disagree with her. "If I wanted a chatterbox, I would have been content with my brother's attempts to invade my home whenever it suited him." Balthazar commented dryly.

He was so use to having his whirlwind of a brother come breezing in whenever he felt like it. If not his brother, Balthazar was forced to entertain other vampire nobles and keep up appearances. It was all tedious and honestly a quiet night in sounded divine. "Your company will suit me just fine. There is more of a chance of you getting bored with me than vice versa. I have been told I am a bit of a 'stick in the mud' by some people's standards." Again, his brother's wording, not his. He couldn't help being the way he was. It was how he was raised and what was expected of him as leader of his clan.

"Now if that is your only concern, I believe we should take our leave of this place." There was a small hint of distaste in his tone. Although he was happy to have found interesting company, he wouldn't want to dally too long in the slave market. "Shall we get going?" Like the gentleman he was, he extended a hand for her to take to lead her out of her room.

Rowena realized that she probably should have asked him what he was. Not that he would tell her, probably, but still. It would have been wise. No one had ever accused her of being that, though, so she decided she'd have to figure it out on her own. Hopefully not through some awful mistake that would lead to her untimely demise, she thought with a mental sigh at the idea. Really, she was just amazed at his attitude and behavior, and how he was apparently going to treat her. He could be lying, but it seemed like a waste of effort when she had no choice anyway, after all. And the way he kept mentioning his brother...it seemed that the other man was a handful, at least according to the one here.

As he held his hand out to her, the young woman looked at him blankly for a moment, and then back to his hand. "Um - you can take this off once we leave, right?" she asked, putting one of her hands in his carefully while the other went up to touch the collar around her throat. "It's sort of itchy...and I don't like it," Rowena added flatly, her expression souring for a moment before relaxing once more. It wasn't a major deal, at least not to him, but it was just as demeaning as when he tried to make her kneel at his feet like she was some worshiper or dog.

He wasn't hurting her, she realized - Rowena was sure he could easily hurt her hand by squeezing it, or tug her along, or plenty of other things, but he wasn't at all. Who treated a slave like this? She was just property, she'd been reminded of that plenty of times while she was here, but he wasn't really treating her like one. Not like a piece of furniture, anyway, and she frowned a bit while she thought, not realizing her expression was visible to the man. It disappeared after a heartbeat anyway and she looked at the hallway skeptically, having been forbidden to leave her room. "Am I allowed to go with you?" she asked him doubtfully, glancing up at him briefly before moving her gaze along.

Dark Doe Alysse

In the end,as you fade into the night,
Who will tell the story of your life?

User Image
Zephyr...grew tired of debating with this woman. It wasn't her, or him, it was....well it wasn't exactly hard to tell that they were not seeing eye to eye. And hell, part of him wondered if they could even see each other in the first place. Two people, from different background, different lives, likely different worlds....agreement was not something that was in surplus right now. Whatever this woman thought, she certainly had a will, and he wondered...did she have enough will to break him?

The collar clicked around his neck, and while he saw it coming and allowed it to happen, something about the...finality of that lock on the back of his neck, the way the collar tightened around his neck just enough so that it was slightly restricting him, but not being uncomfortable or cutting off airflow, which made it almost impossible to get used to....it made something click in Zephyr's mind as well. The PLEA was not coming for him. He spoke of their intelligence, their duty....their practicality. An agent who was enslaved was of no use to them. He realized this, and understood it as the collar clicked shut. Suddenly, protecting the world didn't seem as....important to him. He looked at the woman, but found that he could not look her in the eyes. Was it something in the collar? A part of his own epiphany that she may be right? Or maybe something from deeper inside him that was brought to light by the leather binding on his neck? Regardless, he did not need to be told to follow her when she went to pay for him, though...he hoped she didn't look back and see he light blush on his face.

He wondered what awaited him. She didn't seem to be one who wanted to make him some sex toy or bed pet, though he had learned long ago not to judge books by their covers. He noted that she seemed to...enjoy the little verbal spar that had. Maybe a companion? Perhaps, even if she didn't admit or even know it. Someone to talk to, or in this case argue with was an odd reason to buy a slave, but eh, he supposed if she was rich enough to buy someone without a second thought, it probably didn't bother her much. He wondered if she even knew what she had landed. He was technically a mutt of an elf, but he possessed the fabled powers of the Death Elves, able to dip his hand into the potent spring that was the Realm of the Dead and use its waters to shape the world around him, and even himself, to suit his needs. Though he admitted his powers were somewhat restricted by whatever the owners of this place had put in place, and he had a tingling notion that this collar likely was blocking his abilities out too. Oh well, he thought. If this woman wanted to see those powers in action, likely she would allow him to demonstrate. In the meantime, his options were...limited. He looked up, watching the woman as they waited, and, after hoping he concealed his blush, he spoke with a slight grin. "So, what shall I call you? Mistress? Miss? Your Majesty? Just your name? Or would you rather I not speak at all and simply fall into your bed when you give the order?" His tone said he was joking about the bed thing, but he did hope that he wasn't blushing like some fool.

And who will remember your last goodbye?

Cause it's the end and I'm not afraid,
I'm not afraid to die.

Quite truthfully, Linnea had no idea what the woman was going on about, saying that she would do and all of that. But Ms. Massri was, she certainly did what she wanted. Before the young woman could even ask anything, she was saying how she would do nicely and then threatening her brother. Admittedly, she giggled a little at that, a bit surprised. No one threatened Thomas, because no one actually saw him. Her brother looked just as surprised, then gave his sister a mock glare for laughing at his being told off. But it was clear the woman was taking them with her and for that, the young man kept his mouth shut. He was simply happy his sister would be with someone who was going to pamper her and treat her as a human - that was fine with him. Linnea deserved the best, he was sure of that, and the woman grated on his nerves - but she was bad. Not like other people who had been in here to see her. So this was satisfactory to him.

He could behave when he wanted to.

While Ms. Massri continued to speak, Linnea blinked and then skipped to catch up with her and keep pace, surprised that it was settled so easily like that. Brushing some hair from her eyes, the young woman brightened a bit at the idea of going shopping. It had been a long time since she'd been able to get new things and it would admittedly be nice to have some nice things - she was feminine enough to admit that to herself. Even if it seemed shallow. The woman seemed pleased enough simply to talk at her, so she remained quiet while they headed down the elevator and to the lobby. "It'll be nice to go shopping," she offered quietly, while the woman paid for her at the large desk.

She fully expected them to leave. So when the exotic woman suddenly stopped at the doors, Linnea blinked in surprise and looked over at her, then over to the rain, then back to her new mistress. "Do you...not like the rain?" she asked hesitantly. Admittedly, she didn't care too much for getting sopping wet, but that wasn't the concern here. Right now, she honestly did want to just leave. Biting her lip, she ran a hand through her hair and looked around. "Oh! I'll go ask for an umbrella for you, ma'am!" she offered brightly, trotting off to go ask one of the attendants at the desk for exactly that. After a few minutes of searching, the young woman was able to return with a very large umbrella, enough for Bastet to walk under and remain completely dry.

"Here you are, ma'am," she said, offering it to the woman. "It's nice and big, it should keep you dry," Linnea added hopefully.

The moment he had stepped inside the room and taken into account the stature of the little female before him, Akan had been greatly amused. This female was not one so easily fawned or persuaded. She was a fighter through and through, and it would take much more than words to coax her down. As it was, she was baring blunt little teeth at him, as if they would frighten him off. However, he wondered if she didn’t have fangs that were unable to show themselves given the oppressive weight of magic in the air. Oh, he could smell and feel it against his skin. The magic that kept this whole place on lockdown. It amused him greatly. Made him wonder if the mistress of this establishment had merchandise that even she did not want unleashed on her. Was it out of precaution for her guests, or for herself? After all, the mistress of this estate was also living under the same roof as her merchandise, or so he’d been told. Her could care less where the woman lived. It was doubtlessly a pampered lifestyle. He wondered if this petite female in front of him was used to a pampered lifestyle, as if she had been some little princess far away where porcelain skin was coveted. He didn’t much care. In fact, given by her scent, the petite female was a vampire. That was a bit disconcerting, given that he womb would be dead. There would be no conquest of having pups, but he could always find a hound to carry on his legacy later. After all, eh didn’t want pups at the moment, and a womb that would bear no children would be grand for his current needs. He would be free to do as he pleased with this little female without worrying about the consequences. That was, once she was trained not to bite the hand that fed.

’You need to hold your tongue boy’. Boy. Something he had not been called in quite some time. It was rather amusing. He was certain that he was much older than this petite female, even given her race, and their gift of entombed longevity. At least she would never sag or grow old. She would be perfectly preserved for the rest of her days. Akan could manage that. Besides, wouldn’t it be a nice change to have a vampire princess groveling at his feet like a dog? How the tables would turn when Masters looked at him and his new pet. The idea made him smirk as he watched the little tantrum continue. Threats were spilled, but the female didn’t look as though she had any true intent of making the first move. He would have expected much more form someone of her kind, and the level of anger that she seemed to possess. Instead, he leaned against the doorframe, his eyes flicking in color, taking in the sight before him; watching the little princess spit like fire. He had need for something with a tongue. Something that needed breaking. Not all thewya of course, but just enough to aly with and bait. He would never want her to be some little lap dog, contented with her place at his feet. Oh no, he wanted ambition. This little princess would learn to bend, but always know that she wanted more, and he would allow it only when he felt suited to gift her with such. Yes, this venture would be a good one, or so he hoped. He watched her angry tirade a moment or two more before she seemed to be flagging. He wondered if she were hungry, or if she was always this spittingly angry.

When she stopped talking he looked over her once more and moved to her quickly, taking her chin in his hands. Teeth were the most important on a vampire. He could deal with claws. Surely, she might draw blood, but he could take it. It wouldn’t be as painful as other injuries inflicted on him. But the teeth? They were potentially dangerous, considering what kind of venom blossomed from them. He didn’t want to be bitten by his little princess. Not even when her fangs seemed to be stuck inside of those rounded little cheeks. ”Calm yourself little princess. Surely, you’re only hungry. That fire within you must be burning you out, mustn’t it? Perhaps if you’re a good little girl, I’ll feed you a nice youthful human. But only if you behave. Surely, a little girl like you can behave for her master, right? Especially if I am offering you a chance to leave this fine… little cage you have here? I promise your next cage will be much bigger. You might even like it, once you’re trained up to behave like a good little girl.” He had not held her very strongly, allowing her to break away if she wished, but he had backed away, prepared to strike her down if she thought to attack him. His expression held the seriousness of the threat he brought with him. Surely, he would take this little vampire, just to see if she was worth his time. He would break her in two and build her up again once she was home. And only then, would he allow her to feed on a meal he would bring her. No sooner than that would she be treated to fresh blood.

The dance of flames and shadows in the street
Make poetry nobody's ever heard
The weight of loneliness stands on your feet
The cage already there around the bird

Aceline expected the male to get angry as she continued to verbally attack him but he kept that smug look on his face, even smirking a few times while he watched her pace and throw threats, batting them away like they were nothing. She felt her cheeks flush red, embarrassed that she had misjudged him for a hot headed character and getting no results, making her look like an idiot...which made her even more angry. She continued to pace back and forth, wanting to attack him but hesitant to do so, partly because of the guards that stood just outside the room's door and partly because she didn't know just how strong he was. Her instincts were screaming at her to attack without a thought and it took everything she had to hold back. She wasn't like other vampires that acted on their instincts alone. She had fought to keep a little of her humanity and not act like an animal. Every day was a fresh struggle to keep from diving over the edge and giving in. It didn't help that her stomach was just barely away from growling either. She could hold out a little longer. Acline hated that she had to drink the life out of someone, shunning blood like it was a plague until she was so desperate nothing else was on her mind. Yes, the liquid tasted sweet and like heaven, but the revulsion of what she was doing every time nullified it.

The girl turned her head, looking over at him. She unconsciously licked her lips, staring at the male's pulse on his neck as her thoughts had wandered. She could almost hear his heart beating, strong with the life force that called to her so strongly and Aceline took a step forward before she realized what she was doing. Hissing angrily, the sound almost like a cat, she backed up again and tore her gaze away from him. She wanted out of this cage but she didn't want to be taken out by someone who would expect her to call them Master...she had to admit though that diving right into the lion's mouth and leaving this place with someone might be the best chance she'd have at escaping and living out on her own again...that is if she could stand humbling herself enough to leave in the first place and living for a time with them before acting out and running. Also, Aceline didn't know anything about where she would go or if it would just be her and the supposed Master or if there would be possibly other slaves in the household. Her tense position grew slightly still as she became thoughtful, trying to weigh the odds. Aceline had taught herself patience early on, figuring out that the rewards reaped were so much better if she waited just a little and acted at the perfect time rather than being aggressive and making someone more wary, bringing their guard up and making her decisions so much more difficult. She chose to meet things from behind instead of taking them head on and meeting resistance.

She was so lost in thought, a sudden movement from the male surprised her and she found him taking her chin and turning her head towards his. How he moved so quickly towards her without her realizing and backing up was a mystery. She found herself almost recoiling instantly and lashing out at him with her long nails as he began to speak. Hearing him calling her little princess, the girl bared her teeth, wishing that she could have shown him just how sharp they fangs were and hating the mansion security for not allowing her to. Once he began to speak about feeding her, Aceline wondered if her stomach had growled, but judging on his expression, he was just guessing as to the source of her aggression.

"..Master?" She suddenly said, her anger flaring at the word. "You just made three mistakes. One, no one is my Master, you are just a client looking me over like a piece of merchandise. I will never have a Master. Two, you do not EVER call me little princess or little girl, I am neither of those; and three, you made the mistake of assuming I'll behave and sit in your cage like a dog! The only reason I am in this place still is because I haven't found a way to get out yet. Every. Single. Day I am thinking of escape so don't think I like being caged!" She spat. This time, Aceline did recoil, but instead of using her nails, she opened her mouth and moved to clamp it down on the hand that held her chin. Her teeth may have been blunt but they could still do a lot of damage with the enhanced strength she'd been given once she had changed into a creature of the night. She wondered if her venom was still active or if it was dormant from the barriers in the mansion. She hoped they weren't. Aceline would have found perfect satisfaction in knowing this male's confidence would be shattered just from her biting down on him..and not even with her full abilities. Maybe then he'd be afraid of her and back off, leaving to try and find a cure...she didn't think there was one.

He wasn’t surprised to have nails rake across his arm as he brought it up to guard his face. He could have taken the face hit, but he wanted to make it quite clear that he wouldn’t let her get that close. He was no mind reader, but he was certainly a hunter. He knew predictable patterns, and he was very much goading his little princess towards reaction. He was curious to see what they would be. That was the whole point. How dangerous would this petite female truly be? From the short inspection he’d been given, he could tell that this female was fiery, and would not be extinguished easily. She would fight him tooth and nail, which is exactly what he wanted. He was tired of getting the last pick of the litter at the compound. All the females had been trained to expected the domination that would come, and most of them simply bowed to it. Some did not, of course, but those were the ones who found themselves so easily impregnated by the Masters themselves, which Akan thought would be a fate worse than mating a hound. The Masters were not generally family men, and simply wanted to conquest. Hound pups fetched quite a price on market. They were also good gifts for the master’s own heirs to powers. To give a son their own pup to rear was a gift. Akan had watched it. The pup raised by a Masters child was always mindlessly obedient by the time it reached adolescence, and adulthood. That was what Akan would do with this female. He would take her and rear her to be his mate. And if he truly did wish to mate her down the road, he would. And she would love it.

When the silver haired female stopped in his hands for a moment, he looked at her, knowing that she certainly was not finished. When the word “Master” came from her lips, Akan gave her his full attention, intrigued. He wasn’t surprised when she came at him with mistakes he seemed to have made. Instead, he smirked. Ah, so she didn’t like being called little princess. He would keep that then. And the rest was predictable. No cages. Not like a dog. He internally twitched at that, his mouth spreading into a grin. Ah, how close to what she would become. What she would spawn he if deemed her worthy. But of course, they would not be mere dogs. He wasn’t a mere dog. But she was nothing better than a simple female. He smirked, watching her recoil, but when she came back, mouth open, his brows lowered, eyes glinting, and his hand moved lower, moving to collide with her throat. His grip would find the two glands on either side of her head, right beneath her ears and behind the jaw and he would squeeze. His gaze, now more stern with his irritation was full. He moved them back towards the bed, moving to pin her against the bed and look into her eyes. ”Lesson number one. You will not bite me. I will sooner tear every single tooth from your mouth than to allow you to bite me. I will tell you this lesson only once. If you fail to remember it, I can promise you that I will Remove. Every. Tooth.” Each word was punctuated exactly, his face getting closer and closer to her own, colors whirling behind his eyes, turning form their normal vibrant red hued to a cyclone of gold, red, and crimson.

He glared at her, jaw set as he sank his point home. He would not feed her. Not until she begged him, and her throat burned, and her stomach clawed at her, needing what he couldn’t have. Maybe he’d even dump her at the main compound for a few days and let her hang there in humiliation while others looked upon her. He would not let them touch her of course, but it would be entertaining to see how she would react to so many males with hungry jaws, waiting. Maybe he could speak to his Master to have him remove her immortality. Surely, his master would be pleased with such a gift. Or even just her strength. His punishments would be swift and cruel. That was what this little princess deserved and needed. He would fix this problem of hers. He released her carefully, allowing her to make her move. He was more than ready to leave this place and enact the first punishment for her disobedience. He needed to check in with his own Master. Surely, there was work to be done. He eyed his little princess. ”Are you ready to behave yet, Princess? Or will I have to punish you more severely? I can promise you, that you will not like what you have coming to you already. I suggest you be a good girl.” He made sure to elongate the words “princess” and “girl” to rub in his position over h. Then he moved back towards the door, his hand on the knob ready to leave. If he needed to have his little princes restrained he would do so, but they were going to leave, and he would take her to the main compound for punishment. Maybe after a day or two there without food, she would learn her lesson.
