C.J. smirked casually. "A place? Wow, they must still be back in the Dark Ages or something. No worries though . . . I think Arell time-traveled ONCE . . . right?" he asked, looking at Arell, who shrugged, his tray on the ground next to C.J.'s.
"Yeah . . . Vampires. Dey still fun t' shoot at. Kinda makes de job fun. Den 'gain, since whatevah happened, our lives're more or LESS a movie." the Cajun said as C.J. nodded.
"Oh yeah . . . especially that first time I rescued Mist'. THAT was fun! Say, I wonder if the Bats ever found my Evan Johns cd, thinking of that." the Marylander mused as the big Cajun looked at him.
"IT HAS A CD PLAYER?!?" Arell asked as C.J. nodded.

Anna smiled lightly. ”You've time traveled?” she asked. Interest very clear in her voice. ”Honest time traveling or “this would make for a good story” time traveling?” she asked.

Donna listened quietly as Dr Villa spoke. And as she thought about it... she never had heard of anyone around here speaking about the Bataman as anything other than a hero. She had never really thought about why before. Never gave it much thought really. Never gave HIM much thought. Suppose it was because she preferred to focus her attention on the “lesser” cases that came into Arkham. Ones that were only brought in by Batman, or only complained that they would have gotten away if Batman hadn't been there. Nothing more serious than that.
”And as long as there are villains for him to pull out of the city, the papers are always going to make him out to be the hero.”

Hector smiled a small, wan smile. "And there will always be villains for him to pull out of the city. Gotham is far too diseased for there to ever really be an end. And even if the so-called 'super-villains' ever do manage to stop escaping from either here, and finally get the treatment they need, the Bat will then just refocus on the lesser criminals. The regular bank robbers, kidnappers, thieves, and such. And still, he will be a hero."

Arell nodded. "Yeah . . . went int' de Wil' West once. THAT was fun . . . actually met Jonah Hex while I was dere, too . . . learned a thang'r two 'bout slingin' lead around. Nice guy if'n you can understand him." he said in his warm, backwater kinda drawl.
C.J. looked up with a smirk. "And THAT's the pot callin' the kettle black." he added. Arell, fully aware of the barb on his expense, shot C.J. a glare.

Dr. Gray Location: Dr. Villa's office. Status: Thinking out loud.
”So it will be some grand twist of fate that anyone ever really gets the chance to have a sit down with Batman.” Donna said, then took a thoughtful sip of her drink. ”Speaking of sit downs... where do we begin with our last sit down? There are at least three different patients that we know for sure that we will need to speak with if we want to make any real progress. Or... try to anyway.” she said. Then she sighed a bit and leaned back in her seat. ”You know the Joker far better than I do. But if he's usually anything like how he was with me today, I'm not holding my breath that he'll get us very far.” she said. Then took a sip and continued with Vice. ”The other man who tried to escape. Vice. He's rather difficult to talk to as well. For very different reasons though. His powers are ongoing, and pretty much force him to be in isolation from anyone else. Partially because of what it causes other people to do or act... and mostly because he's tried using that to his advantage. Having a friendly or deviant conversation that throws the doctors completely off topic... at best. Fighting his way out or having a guard practically open the door for him at worst. We've tried video conversations, and they work the best for communicating with him with a clear head. But... he tends to act how he wants or ignores the session completely since there's no one there to make him do otherwise.”
Then she paused a moment in thought. ”He has... mentioned before that there is a reason he needs to be out. That he's not trying to break out just to do it. That there was someone waiting on him or someone that he needed to take care of. The way he had acted before, I don't think anyone had given it much thought. Probably thought he was just trying to make an excuse to let him go. I'm not sure... now that he knows that Gossamer is here... how that will change his behavior. I'm not sure how he'll act if we try to talk to him. If he'll be more determined now to get loose, or if he'll relax more. If he really was trying to get out for someone, and it was Gossamer... I would think that he would be calmer knowing she's here and safe.” Then she took another sip, a bit of a larger one than before, and sighed again.
”I don't know... It was clear that he and Gossamer knew each other. She recognized him. Which was a lot more than could be said when Joker passed by her cell. He recognized her, but she didn't recognize him at all. He... his initial reaction was as if he was shocked to see her there at all. Then he seemed rather... I'm not sure... threatening with that great smile of his would be the best way to describe it I guess. I was under the impression that he'd tried to kill her or something and was surprised to see her standing there. But when we came back though, and I let him talk to her, his behavior was completely different. I'm pretty sure he even flirted with her as we took him back to his cell. That may have just been the mood he was in though.” Donna said, then frowned and looked away. She had no idea what Quinzell had seen in that man. His type of “flirting” with doctors was borderline sexual harassment.
She sighed again and went back to her drink. ”And of course there's Janet Loveless. Or Gossamer, if she still prefers to go by that. From... what I have read about her, and what I've read about her capture and brief stay at the Gotham Jail... this was a surprisingly cooperative night for her. She's difficult with police, if she doesn't outright try to fight them. The only time she was cooperative with her therapist was when she had been with one prior to taking the Gossamer persona on completely. The woman she had after she had been captured and jailed the first time around, it took her weeks to even begin having a calm conversation with her.” Donna said, then paused a moment in thought. ”She had gotten through to her after some time. But... she had her full memory then. Now she, barely seems to remember anything that's happened to her recently. Even the events that had caused her to become captured by the police. There were no reports of her getting injured or hit in the head during her capture. Or anything afterwards to suggest she had lost her memory during or after capture. And she had been.... caught in the middle of one of her kills. I thought perhaps she was faking the claim of memory loss, as well as most of the police. But... the look on her face today. She honestly doesn't remember. This is the first time I've come across memory loss like this. Perhaps... her crimes are more of a compulsion? Then her mind just burries it away? Or... Perhaps Joker HAD done something to her. A cranial injury of some kind that's now causing her to loose her recent memory over and over...” Then she paused in thought a moment again. ”Then again... it may be trauma related. She had only took up the Gossamer persona completely, as well as her life of crime afterwards, directly after the events of her death and the death of her younger sister. Her crimes recently have been the alledged homicides of female children. One of which she was caught in the act of doing when the police finally caught up to her. She had fought tooth and nail with the police when they took her in, then an hour or so afterwards, claimed she had no idea why they had her locked up so tightly. She was calmer then, cooperated as much as she reportedly normally did, then had a night terror that caused her to lash out with her magic. Destroyed half the jail. When they subdued her, she claimed she didn't remember the dream, and had no idea where she was or why she was there. That was the last report anyway. She was fighting with the guards when she was brought here, and they had to drug her to get her to calm down. I'm not sure if she was only calm for us because the sedative was still in her system, or if she was genuinely in that state of mind. If she isn't feighning the loss of memory, then it is possible that the mood swings are genuine and she was simply calmed down enough to actually listen and understand that we wanted to try and help her. She seemed genuine enough with her voice and body language that she was in a calmer state... and the void of memory wasn't being faked. She didn't know who Rosie was until Joker tried to explain it to her. Then the look on her face, like it did finally begin to hit her that she had a little girl. It looked real.”
Then Donna sighed and took another sip of her drink. ”Or she's a very good actor. In which case if she is I'm going to be rather upset.” she said. Then she blinked and finally looked back up at Dr Villa. ”Oh.... sorry....” she said with a light blush. ”I prattle when I think out loud. I'd like to say it doesn't happen very much but... I either don't talk at all, or I don't shut up unless someone chimes in. Which... usually doesn't happen since I have very few people to prattle to other than myself.”

”Can't say I've ever been to the... “wild west”. Not that I recall. I'm fairly certain the time you're thinking of... let's see... I was...” Ally began, then promptly stopped as footsteps began trodding towards their cell. She looked up and watched as a guard passed by them, then frowned as he vanished from her sight. A heavier frown than she meant it to be... but the man was an unwanted reminder of just where she was. ”Actually... If I want to get out of this rusted stone pit... I probably shouldn't say at all...” she grumbled.

Dr. Villa Location: His office Status: Impressed Hector chuckled a moment before asking, "What are you apologizing for? What you call 'prattle' only proved to me that you're an incredibly capable psychiatrist. More so than most your age, because you're skeptical enough to realize that it could all be a hoax. You're going to go far in this profession. Never apologize for that. Never apologize, period, unless something goes completely awry, and one is demanded of you in order to keep your job. Any other time, it's weakness, and you are not weak." Although he had stopped laughing, he was still smiling, his eyes shining intensely as they looked at Donna. Then, he shrugged a little as he added, "Oh, and yes, the Joker will ALWAYS be how you saw him, unless you come with the proverbial guns loaded. He will be seen soon, because I would hate to make you a liar. However, I need to speak to Vice soon, because to load the guns, we need ammunition. The ammunition is information, and Miss Loveless is presently unable to provide it. Asking the Joker to provide information without playing his little games is like asking to check a live alligator's tonsils without getting bitten: without the right gear, it is at once suicidal, and outright asinine. Therefore, we need to know what we can learn from Vice, and fast. Vice is our next play." He took a deep inhale and added, "Right after we start Gossamer on Prazosin, once a day, immediately after dinner. It's shown promise in suppressing the nightmares of PTSD sufferers already, with minimal possible side effects, so it's as safe a bet as we could hope for."

Donna blinked once when Dr. Villa spoke the first time. It was the first time she had ever received a compliment like that. Most of the people she knew were interested in what she had to say when she "prattled", but didn't quite understand her. The others seemed to humor her or tried not to roll their eyes when she rambled on. Or took it as a chance to practice their debate skills and challenged everything that she said. Those were always the fun colleagues to wait in the lunch room with.
At the moment she didn't know weather to be humbled, or let the pride that was starting to bubble up inside her chest put a smile across her face for the next few hours.
When he began to speak again, she sobered up a bit. "Agreed." she replied with a small nod. "The Prison they had Gossamer locked up in will be in the process of rebuilding for the next few weeks. The sooner we can try to prevent that from happening here, the better. I'll make sure that the doctors notify us the moment Vice wakes up if he doesn't do so before the night is through."

Gossamer Location: In her cell. Status: Trying to pass the time, might as well try to sleep.
Meanwhile, in her own isolated cell, Gossamer sat at her bed. Picking at the food on her plate absently with her fork. She should eat; she couldn't remember the last time she had eaten. But... she just wasn't hungry. At all really. She lumped that up to simply having far too much on her mind at the moment. Vice being here, whom she didn't remember seeing for years. But with her memory being what it was right now, she could have seen him only last week for all she knew. And then this... Joker. And Rosie. Neither of whom she remembered at all really. She remembered Rosie now.... but only flashes and bits and pieces.
Bleh.
With a frown, the woman scooted her tray of food over to a relatively clean corner of the floor. Then she curled her legs up onto the bed and laid herself down on her side. Back towards the large glass wall, and her face staring at the dull metal one against her bed.
She wasn't hungry, she was starting to give herself a head ache.... might as well just try and get some sleep.

Arell smirked. "It wasn't too excitin'. Kinda foun' it borin' after the showdowns, drinkin', gunfights, vampires . . . yeah, dat's like TUESDAY." he said with a chuckle . . . he was used to the Time Travel and the wild life of a gunslinger.
C.J. on the other hand, shrugged. "You think that's bad. I met the writers and chainsawed a guy. If there's any way I'm gettin' outta here, five-to-one it's by escape." he quipped.

Ally smiled a bit and picked at her food again. She waited until the guard walked out of range then looked back up at the two men. "I'm not sure where I was at during that era. I may have passed through the West at some point... but if I recall I was more interested in what comforts and luxury the larger cities provided. I'd spent many, many years fending for myself... I didn't have much interest in finding a town that was learning how to do that." she said. Then she paused a moment in though. "Or was it because of the Indians? The wars? Something like that. I forget what the reason is now, but I never had a desire to pass through a gun fight or any sort of fight that went on during that time." she said. Then after a long moment's pause, snapped her fingers. "Indians. That's why I don't remember much about it. I was more interested in learning from the various tribes when I came to America. I was too deep in the woodlands and mountains to really stay long in a new town to remember much. Afterwards I went to one of the larger cities where everything was provided for me."
Then she took a bite or two of what was left of her food. She wanted to think about her time spent with the Native tribes and talk about them while guards weren't passing by. But... the subject of Vandal Savage kept nagging at her. "Well, you certainly won't be getting out of here within the next few days. That I'll agree on. If they can manage to find you sane enough to be out and about now, I'm sure you'll get out of here soon though. If you try to escape, you'll have to be on the run or in hiding... along with your new family." she said. Then took another bite of food. "Though... escaping might be necessary. I don't doubt that you "chainsawed" Vandal up and killed him. But... I don't know. I just can't see someone with the history that Vandal has, the man that was part of the Demon Knights, the man who's been stabbed and shot and fallen off cliffs and drowned and sent to hell just to come back... I just don't see this being the last you'll be bothered by him. It doesn't feel final to me... but it could be. Attila the Hun survived his entire war, only to die by choking on his food. So anti-climactic deaths are not unheard of for large figures of history." Then she paused a moment and pursed her lips. "Though... that may very well have been Vandal setting up his own death so that he could start a new identity." she muttered. Then she shook her head and poked at her food. "I guess what I'm trying to say is he might have some back up plan or someone under his employ to take care of "problems" when he's unable to do it himself. He always tends to have the upper hand some how. I haven't seen or heard anything about him within this last century, but I'm sure he has built up something by now. Some new organization or someone who's overly loyal to him that would sneak in here to try and finish you off. Something like that."

"Sweet! Ever meet with the Powhatans?" C.J. asked, a little curious. However, that faded when she warned about Savage coming back.
"Oy . . . I saw ONE 'immortal' jackass in half and that seems to be the ONLY thing people wanna talk about these days." he mentioned, Arell raising an eyebrow.
"Dude, you CHAINSAWED a guy. Dat USUALLY makes the six o'clock news no matter WHO it was." Arell said as C.J. shrugged.

Ally smiled and opened her mouth to give her input to the topic, but immediately closed it and looked towards the hall as two men could be heard talking as they came into view.
"So do you think perhaps she was drugged or something?" One man in an Arkham psychiatrists jacket asked. The man next to him wore a similar jacket, and gently shook his head.
"I don't know. The whole building, along with the buildings surrounding the warehouse, was filled with bodies. No blood, no injuries, no reports came back of them being poisoned. Just... dead. She was standing in the middle of the warehouse, clearly ticked off, shouting something about this is what happens when you try to take advantage of a goddess." the other man replied.
Ally frowned and slipped back as far as she could towards the back wall of her cell.
"He also said that she claimed to have come from a time when-" the first man continued, then stopped when he realized who's cell they were passing. "Er... we'll discuss it in Donmann's office." he muttered to the other man, then continued walking.

Ally sighed defeatedly and leaned back against the wall. "So long as you give me no reason or desire to kill you, there is no reason to keep your distance from me. If I did, the space this building allows would not be enough to spare you anyway." she said, muttering the last bit. She paused for a moment, then moved to make herself comfortable on her cot. "The "wild west" wasn't the latest time period that I have lived in. My powers gave me both a feared and reverend status among the clan that I found. As time went on I became a ruler of sorts. With the passing years the title of "goddess" was spoken less and less as people became more tied to Christian beliefs. I didn't want any hostility towards the secluded area the kingdom was located, so I made sure I was referred to as a Queen so we didn't have crusades blazing through our gates. Eventually that title stuck, the younger ones moved to bigger places, the older ones died out, and I was left with a small village of workers and servants. I decided to travel about." she began to explain. "I was very good about not needing to use my powers for a long time. A week ago was a... a bit of an unexpected laps." she continued, glancing to the side. "I hadn't used the powers in so long, and the men in the building had made me angry enough that I just... lost my temper. It took me a while to come back to my senses, and I had apparently said some things that came off as babble." she said, then looked back at the two men. "And, if I want to get out of here any time soon, I need to play it off as some sort of momentary.... something I suppose. If I talk about being thousands of years old, I may be here for quite some time."

Arell was still freaked out, but both listened to her story before getting an idea. "Could bluff 'em, che'!" he mentioned. There was a few times that they had to do that in order to get out of trouble . . . the only thing is, neither of these two idiots didn't bother to THINK THAT THROUGH!!

Ally's smile returned to her. ”That's what I'm hoping to do. Get out of here a lot quicker if I play the part of a victim that had a momentary emotional breakdown from the sudden.... whatever I'll say happened. Hard to explain why everyone within a certain radius was dead except for me.” she said. Then she grinned a bit. ”Actually, it's VERY easy to explain, but I'll get put on the top of this country's watch list if I do.”
At least she figured that she would. People in this country tended to be a bit paranoid when they found something that posed as a “huge threat”. And someone who could absorb someone's life by simply willing it so was... quite a threat. It was the main reason she had kept such a strong low-profile until now. She was hoping that she would be able to continue to maintain it. Explaining her past was a bit of a pain. Explaining how she obtained her powers was tedious. She'd rather not get into all of that with “white coats”.
