Julian stopped at the door, frowning at the words. Sacrifice all that he heard? He didn't really like that. He'd always had amazing hearing, it came with the whole being an owl thing. Not having it reminded him of being underwater and that was something he did not enjoy in the slightest. It was why he only took showers.
But if he was going to save his friends, he needed to go onward. So he pushed through the door and continued on, the silence around him deafening.

Somewhere along the way she'd lost hold of Nkosazana. Davyne wasn't quite sure how it'd happened; she'd clutched so tightly at the other woman's hand that at times she was sure it'd had to be a bit painful. And yet... they'd lost each other in this Tower. And now she was alone. All alone, with no sound, feeling like the walls were closing in on her. But still, ever onwards. Wowwwwww. Stairs were shaking, AJ the fragment quickly grabbed the handle. There was only one way in front of him, up. When the shake is over, he bounced and jumped stairs again. " You dare take the powers of the others....." He knew that voice, he knew that Voice! Hey you! Don't talk in my mind! Ignoring how disappointed the tone was, the young Tiefling just wanted to punch it hard. He grabbed and released his fists several times. Yep, thank you for creating me. It was slow going, considering his feet weren't really made for large amount of walking, much less climbing up stairs. But that wasn't going to stop him. He would reach the top.

Bouncing happily up the stairs she didn't even notice the bird there. This was a breeze as far as she was concerned. At least in this form rushing up the stairs was a little quicker then it would have been other wise. She kept an eye on everything around her. Even thought she couldn't hear she felt the vibrations when she mumbled. At least that was still working. She'd looked and looked, but no matter how much she searched she still could not find her former companion. How was it even possible to get separated on a set of stairs? Surely, surely she'd bump into Nkosazana soon and she wouldn't be left alone with her thoughts, frayed and weary and breaking at the edges. Any time now. Still no sign of any his friends. Climbing stairs wasn't really fun, when AJ realized he already climbed more than 50 of them, yet, there were more to go. He wished he could have wings and fly towards the top at once. Unable to hear anything besides the annoying Voice made him so sick. He didn't want the Voice was the last thing he could hear. Damn it!He really hope his sister was here, and they can punch the Voice together. It will be a better punchbag than he was. He counted how many steps he was, 97, 98, 99, 100! He believed he finished the first part of the tower when he encountered the door. " All I ever wanted was to find the True King......" Shut up! Yep, from the story told by Mr. Pillar White, I know you were alone. However, that doesn't mean that you can treat us as nothing! In the silence around him, it was difficult not to dwell on what had just happened. Lumi had pushed him away. It was hard not to feel hurt by that. He needed to concentrate, to remind himself that she wasn't his Lumi. He had to be fair, when he had woken up here, he had a completely different life, devoid of things like dances and long talks in incense-filled rooms, late-night tea drinking when times were hard and weeks worth of correspondence.
It was okay that she didn't remember him. It was all a bad dream, after all...

A bad dream with far too many steps... His feet were getting tired, a part of him wanted to take a break, but he knew he couldn't. He just had to get past the sore feeling and keep going.

Lumikki found herself wondering as she made her way up the stairs. Why had that bird hugged her, why had he said he missed her. Did she just not remember him? They were after all figments right? Maybe he thought he knew her. But then why couldn't she remember him. Growling slightly she caught his scent, but at the same time she caught another scent she knew even more. Roch and the Commander both had been through here at least she was in the right direction. It was good, at least, that there was something to focus on besides her thoughts. Although climbing stairs did not really take much brainpower at all, and so she had been forced to count the steps as she went. It was better than thinking on the fact that she didn't actually exist and that her non-life was about to end rather soon. 45, 46, 47.... Figuring that if she could just make it to the top all of this figment nonsense would make sense.
