Rep nodded. "Fair enough man. I'll be right back."
It didn't take him long to come back with a fancy blue (of course) blanket which he handed over. It was folded neatly, so probably not by Rep.
"Here you go then, you know where the lift is if you want to head back down. Knowing our luck today, they probably will."

Melvin took the blanket, unfolded it and checked it. It was soft and clean. Perfect. Looking up at Rep, he then moved over and, thanks to the buffer of a blanket, hugged the man. "Thank you." Rep was the only person who cared that he had been dirty and gave him the gift of a shower and clean clothes.
Hug done, Melvin walked away.
--
Back downstairs, Melvin was wrapped up in a blanket as he entered the room and looked around for some place to sleep.

Rep just watched Melvin go with a slight frown, clenching his hands by his sides. He wasn't sure why he kept upping the stakes like this.

When Andrew returned, looking considerably more relaxed, Jordan caught his eye and nodded a greeting. "Feeling better?" he inquired politely. In the time that it had taken the Silver to shower and dress, Ferros had returned with a fresh shirt, and Jordan had vanished briefly to dress; he now looked immaculately clean and groomed again.
Ferros remained nearby, as unobtrusive as such a large person could be.

A grimace settled over the man's face, and Gargantuan seemed to be thinking for a moment. "If I gotta do somethin' I don't wanna--well. I'll do what I gotta to keep the family safe." He'd never like it, though. Being so much bigger than everyone else, he'd taught himself how to be gentle from a young age. Felt kinda wrong, going against that. "Might be more impressive if I just stand there and uh. Watch you work."

“Yes a lot better.” He frowned and Jordan wondering if he really was the one he should talk to or not. He seemed like it. “It seems we are all in a tough spot, I don’t like this, not at all. But I now know a few things from silver tower your boss might be interested in.” He wondered if he should mention he part about collapsing the tower in the process. Well it seemed everyone was still here, so it wasn’t like their guys were hurt by it. “Something about a crown, and a legacy, plus a few other details. In return I want to know what you" he waved his hand about the casino, indicating that he meant everyone, "know.”

A pair of amber eyes flicked upward from the shadows as the nearly-silent 'whoosh' of the elevator sounded, doors sprawling lazily open to reveal a damp, blanketed Melvin. Nuk had long since slipped silently away from the group, vanishing like smoke, unnoticed as the air rippled, and the small coyote replaced the man. It was second nature for him to tuck himself away into a shadow, blending in to remain unnoticed, inconspicuous to wait, and to watch. Normally, it would be groups such as these he would watch -- no matter where you lived, information was invaluable, and might just save your life should you find yourself in a sticky situation. This time, however, Nuk kept his eyes lowered, hiding the gold color as he re-transformed, leaning against a support-shaft and folding his arms loosely. From this angle, the blue light of the now-quieter soiree didn't touch him, the shaft itself between him and the rest of the group.
The shapeshifter followed Melvin with his eyes as he moved deeper into the room, completely still for a few breaths, observing. His guarded tone wavered minutely, conflicted momentarily as to whether or not he should go ask if the chemist was alright. A good part of him said yes -- the man had been thoroughly distressed before, and although he looked better now, that didn't necessarily mean anything -- but there was a small part, the street-smart part of him he used almost instinctively, told him that perhaps it was best if no one knew where he was going. Melvin had heard Rep's invitation, so his where-abouts were likely to be reasoned eventually, but it was wise for him not to put a time stamp as to when he left.
Exhaling silently, Nuk pushed off the iron beam with a gentle nudge, moving with a sly confidence towards the elevator. He caught it just as the doors were about to close, slipping inside before they could cut him off and pressing the buzzer for the penthouse.

Jordan nodded, his eyes sharpening as he listened to what Andrew had to say. "Would you prefer to wait until Harrison returns, or would you be amenable to talking to me about it?" he asked. "Information for information is a fair trade." He said nothing about how much information he meant, nor specific details, leaving the offer vague.
"Of course, there are some things that I cannot divulge to anyone not pledged to the Blue King," he added. "I'm sure you understand. Your loyalty to Silver, even though it is fallen, is commendable. We understand and value loyalty in the Family."

Rep had been waiting on that buzzer to go, and had been wondering if Nuk would have the balls to do it. He was well aware it was one thing to go with instincts, it was another when the risks were laid bare in the cold light of day. But when it actually went he was up like a shot to answer.
"Well hello~" he purred. He didn't even wait to see who it was, just pressed the admission button that lit up the penthouse button on the list.

[Entering]
As soon as Matt got back he headed straight to the bar, sat down and stared.
He really wanted coffee.
Kasi on the other kept fiddling with her dress.

That grimace seemed so out of place on G, who had only moments ago been smiling and open. It was fascinating to see, and she waved off his comments of work, resting her chin in her hand as she turned her full attention to him, instead. "The King's Second has our visitor occupied for the moment," she said--the mirrored glass behind the bar did more than just look pretty. "I want to know about you." She turned on the stool to face G, her smile softening as she fluidly shifted from potentially dangerous to new BFF in the space of a heartbeat. He had seemed to be more receptive to her that way, and she wasn't going to get answers from him as tense as he had become when work got involved.
Her eyes shone with a practiced lack of guile as she asked, not unkindly, "How have you managed to survive this long in so unforgiving a city, hmm? What does blind loyalty pay?"

It was amazing, how fast this elevator was. Living where he did, Nuk could count on one hand how many times he'd ridden in an elevator, and each time had been in this very tower, for an event similar to this, where the tower Harrison had constructed had been open to him for a brief period of time. Each of those times, it had been about Royal Blue. Twice to report on the effects of a new variation. Once, to deliver a seed of information, although what it had been he knew even then he'd never find out. And once, when Enapay had been killed, and Otaktay had reported to take his place.
And never had he been to the tower alone. In fact, he'd never even been in the same room as Harrison.
Not until tonight.
The doors slid open, revealing the expansive penthouse suite, and Nuk stepped passed the threshold and onto the soft carpet. If he had seemed out of place at the beautiful, glitzy soiree, there was something almost obscene about him being up in the lush penthouse, like his very presence violated the luxury it oozed. His ripped jeans seemed violent, his grimy black boots, a sin. Even as the doors slid shut again, the elevator whirring off to its next destination, the shape-shifter didn't move from that first step onto the pristine white carpet, his eyes trained on Rep.
Rep looked like he belonged now, but the tattoos and piercings painted such a different picture in his mind, a picture that conjured familiarity. With the tiger skin and his suit jacket abandoned, never was that more obvious.

Loyalty? He glanced around at the group wondering how much loyalty was really there. He was an outsider, and they would treat him as such until he pledged, but he had no idea if they even had what he wanted. Well the one who would have what he really needed would probably be this Harrison. “I understand. I am an outsider after all.” With no place left. “Of course you know my situation. I don’t know exactly how much time I have left without switching loyalties.” He said mauling that over. It was true. “If you have what I want, I’ll consider staying here. You have already treated me well despite the circumstances.” He eyed Ferros, remembering him as the one who stopped his little panic attack earlier. It seems that perhaps he had misjudged them. His earlier experience with Roar was the exception, and not the rule. And that was only due to loyalty.
Still, he didn’t know what they had, or if they could be the winning team. And he would be playing against two opponents, the voice. Trust did not come easy to him at all. “Still, some of my information might be time sensitive and the more brains working at it, the faster this will go. We are playing against time as well as the other kings. So I’m going to show a little trust here and give you a good deal, in return, I’d like this to be remembered in the future, no matter what happens.”

How could she have known that, he wondered? A quick glance over his shoulder informed him that she spoke the truth, and some of the tension visibly drained out of his thick frame. If Jordan was handling things, then he wouldn't have to, if he was lucky. Taima's smile... he wasn't sure if it was reassuring, or led to more cause for concern. Still, it was a nice enough smile, and he was decided that talking a little couldn't hurt no one. "Uh. Almost didn't a few times. Not real good at doin' what needs to be doin' to get real high up in this city." Murder, drugs, brains. Without any real education, G was s**t out of luck as far as advancing in positions went.
"Got me a family." He said simply, big shoulders shifting up and down in a shrug. "Got me a decent job, a roof over my head, food to eat. Can't ask for much more than that."

[[ Entering from Silver Tower ]]
Serafina came back a bit wet and more than a little dusty, but overall, she really didn't look like she was any worse for wear. Perhaps she needed a change of clothes ... okay, she did really need a change of clothes. Perhaps she should make a run back to her home first before coming back to the casino. It wasn't that far, was it? Then again, this was a casino. They were bound to have some clothing here.
And really, the last thing she needed to do was wander outside like this and catch attention. Senator Arai, wandering out of casino dirty and disgusting. Senator Arai, really rough and tumble? Senator Arai, what is happening in that casino? The world would never know, she had decided, brushing off her shoulders as she entered in the casino, hitting the door open with her back.
Once she was inside, she wandered over to the bar, first of all.
After that tower of suffering she could use a drink.
Really whose wise idea was it to make towers? If she was going to climb up something that high, she needed an elevator. She had never in her life taken that many stairs! She knew why they said stairs were exercise, now, but why in the kingdom would she really want to take that many stairs? She was almost glad the tower had fallen in before she had to climb up another twenty sets. She was pretty sure she would have given up and fled anyway.
Serafina shook her head. Fleeing meant running down those same twenty sets of stairs she had made her way up. This was awful. Really, this fighting each other needed to be over soon. When it was over, she could stop running up stairs and maybe work on banning them from existence. Or at least towers. She had a feeling people would rebel against the whole banning stairs idea. Probably the same health nuts that were so insistent that cups of soda pop should have only been sixteen ounces or lower. That was a rather dumb law proposal.
She made her way over to the bar, sitting down and requesting a long island iced tea.
She had some information she would like to theorize about, admittedly. That whole thing with the Silver Kingdom being oddly missing, and those relics ... it was all probably important and relevant knowledge and she needed to either figure out if anyone else knew about this--and if they did, why didn't she--or maybe get in on someone's good side by showing that she had dug out information just like she had said she would, without even needing to find some of her own pawns who wandered the streets, feeding her the buzz in turn for her own cooperation.
Mm.
"Thanks, bartender." She passed him the appropriate change and took a sip.
