Evan let out a sigh as he finally emerged from his room, scratching his arm a bit. The Personification of Alaska looked around slowly the fiddled with the crystal heart pendant that hung around his neck; snorting a bit before making his way to the small kitchen. The brunette rummaged through the freezer before pulling out some bacon, grabbing a pan and setting it on the stove. "Better to eat small than nothing at all..." Evan rolled his shoulder a bit as he set the bacon in the pan, wtaching it sizzle and shrivel a bit. "Hm..." After finidhing his small brakfast the male went back to his room and changed, leaving the dorm silently.

Evan sighed softly as he stepped into the dorm and glanced around, shivering slightly as he made his way to his room, closing the door and locking it. Today was a bit warm he supposed but...he felt cold...so much colder than usual... "Maybe....it was a mistake..." He held the pendant that hung around his neck tightly, he considered it his heart; nothing more than something that was but stone.

"...Guess no one is going to be around for a while..." He let out a sigh and got up slowly, moving to the door and unlocking it, walking out slowly. Things didn't seem good for him, but then again one couldn't tell the future... A shudder ran down the brunette's spine as he walked to the dorm room, opening the door and leaving. He needed to get out, even if he wasn't realy noticed.

Leilani stopped in front of the dorm she was now sharing with Andrew before she let out a light sigh. The entire day just felt like a complete blur and it didn't help that she was still in pain from the night before. Even after having the worst of her injuries healed, the soreness and tenderness of her injuries still plagued her. Her thoughts were clouded with everything that had happened in the past few days as she opened the door and walked inside. A sudden shiver ran up her spine from the coolness that rushed from inside, which also caused a soft gasp to escape her throat. As she looked around, she saw the room empty and sighed after a moment. Closing the door with the back of her foot, she then took off her shoes and placed them by the door before she lowered her backpack against the back of the couch. Taking a seat, she then turned on the television and just sat there, watching.

The State of Tennessee
Andrew S. Hickory

Andrew had been late getting back to the dorm the night before and almost immediately headed straight to his room where he could pass out. The boy barely even noticed Violet other than grunting a small greeting to her as he all but fell into bed for a few hours. When he was woken by his alarm the boy moaned softly into his pillow, but rolled right out of bed again regretting staying out so late on a school night. That had been a huge mistake...

The state was so groggy he took no notice of anyone else in the dorm as he zombied his way to the kitchen just long enough to stuff a piece of toast in his mouth then wobbled out the front door. Tennessee ambled along for a little while before slowly recalling how his sister had gone to get her neck wound checked out then he didn't see her the rest of the day. Maybe he should go check on her...

Christian made sure Iris was alright getting uP the stairs to his and his family's floor before leading her (and Rutilio, whom he was pretending wasn't following him) to the dorm. He pulled out his keys, which had several key chains related to different animes or the state of Georgia danglin off of a ring with quite a few keys attached, none of which were labeled, and unlocked the door to let the animals in. Brat, of course, jumped off of the horse's back and immediately ran into the kitchen.

Christian smiled and rolled his eyes and smirked before walking into the room and started taking bags off of Iris's back.
"Thanks girl. I really appreciate you carrying all of this for me."

The blond state lifted all of his things and carefully carried it into his room, leaving the door open as he sat a few things on his bed as he put things away. The duffle bag got thrown into his closet to unpack later. He then carefully placed the old guitar, in it's case, in the corner by his window. On e everything was set up, he sat on the edge of his bed and slipped his. On at boots off before looking down at his army uniform... He probably should change, but.... Into what?

Iris raised her head with pride at being helpful and useful to the state as she happily flipped her long tail once. She remained perfectly still as he unpacked and, once they were removed, turned her head to look back at Dog to see if the elder animal wanted to get off here or somewhere else in the dorm. Though she barely fit, the mare was used to squeezing into small places and invading Tennessee's home whenever she wanted. Iris had absolutely no problem with acting as Dog's chauffeur around the dorm.

Florida had naturally wondered in and made himself right at home by first invading the refrigerator to steal one of the Peach State's precious cokes. He shamelessly wandered back into the blonde's room sipping on his booty as he stood in the doorway. He smirked when he saw the way Georgia was looking down at himself.

"You could just wear nothing?" he suggested as if reading the younger state's mind.

Georgia blushed bright red and his strange bluish-green eyes shot over to Florida in a glare. Of course, he took note of the stolen Coke, but he always felt pride seeing the other states drinking his soda since it felt like having some claim to them. N- Not that he cared if he claimed Florida! He felt pride knowing someone chose Coke over Pepsi is all! After all, it kinda sucked knowing South Carolina was a Pepsi drinker so having at least a couple of his neighbors choose Coke was a nice change of pace is all!

"I don't know-- or want to know-- what you do in your own home, but I personally don't walk around in my birthday suit, thank you very much. And I certainly wouldn't do it with a pervert like you on the loose. Always assulting Atlanta. Hmph! Like you aren't tempted enough under normal circumstances."

He stood up to his full height and marched over to his closet, rummaging through some of his clothes before he found a black tank top and some shorts and started to get changed. He had undid his belt before peaking around the door of his closet and shoot a dirty look to Rutilio.

"And don't you even think about peaking! Call me the dirty south when your head's always in the gutter and plotting..."

He finished undoing his belt and unbuttoning the ACU pants and slipped them off before quickly yanking his shorts on. He then removed his ACU jacket and tossed it over towards the hamper before yanking his tan t-shirt off. He looked down to his undershirt and hesitated a moment, as he always did, before that was quickly yanked and sent sailing as well before the tank top was quickly snatched up and fitted over his torso as to cover the scar that stretched over most of his chest and stomach. He walked over to his mirror, still wearing his green knee-high socks from his uniform, and looked in the mirror to make sure none of his chest was visible through any way that the shirt was cut or any worn spots that may exist.

Yes, it was silly to be so paranoid, but... He just didn't like anyone seeing that scar, especially if there were any siblings that had yet to see it since he knew some didn't even know much about what happened to him during the Civil War.

"Savannah likes it when I mess with Atlanta," Florida declared proudly as he usually did when the subject was brought up. In fact, he seemed to puff his chest out a little as if there was some secret Atlanta touching competition he had won. However, he kept his distance and respected the scar enough not to approach Christian when he had his shirt off. Or at least he usually did. Rutilio would be lying if he said he hadn't touched it when there wasn't a shirt between him and Georgia's skin but that had only been when there were still bandages to replace...

"You know... it is only me here and I know what it looks like," Rutilio said when he saw how quickly the Peach State had pulled the shirt down over himself. Not that he was honestly willing to argue over something so small or try to convince Christian to change his habits, but it was at least worth mentioning. "Even if Tennessee walked in I would be surprised if he hasn't seen it before, too."

Christian did his best to ignore the mention of his.... Vital region. Honestly, he did wish Rutilio would stop teasing him for that sort of thing. It was embarrassing enough if and when it did happen. Having it dangled in front of him was unnecessary and mean.

Georgia hugged himself lightly and looked down. He knew Andrew had seen it before, and the guy was normally pretty chilled out about most things, but... He always felt like he made his younger brother feel just as self conscious seeing it as he did, even if what happened had been out of both of their hands. He stood there, lightly nibbling on his lower lip, before looking over to his southern neighbor.

"Why.... Why do you always make me feel so vulnerable? I never feel really all that self conscious or worried around the other states-- including those more related to you than me-- but... It's just... The stupid stuff that makes me worry when you come around... Not to mention..." He sighed and dropped one arm from around himself as he shook his head and ran his fingers through his bangs, clearly trying to figure out a way to word something while occasionally starting something and stopping to take it back and rethink.

"...There's something wrong with me, but only you make it clear. It's just... I don't know! Frustrating!"

Rutilio blinked at the change in his neighbor's demeanor as he hugged himself. Slowly his mouth curved into a light frown as he wondered if Georgia was being self conscious about his scar or something else. It wasn't ever a good sign when the blond didn't shout at him or try to throw something at his head for bringing up Savannah. Had something bad happened to him on his mission...?

Christian's question momentarily took the older state off guard. He hadn't been expecting to hear it but he supposed he wasn't too surprised that the Georgian felt vulnerable or worried around him. It had been like that since the day they stopped being friends, right? Florida was the scary monster next door according to most Southerners for centuries until he was subdued and forced to join their ranks. Not that it had changed much of anything between them. Even so, it aggravated him in many ways to hear Christian still found him to be so unbearable.

The Floridian took a thoughtful sip of his coke and leaned back against the wall as he thought over the Georgian's predicament. After a few painful moments he pushed away again and approached the taller boy.

"Hm..." he hummed as he peered up into Christian's eyes then looked him over as if scrutinizing every little detail. Eventually he smiled and lightly poked the worried state's nose. "I do not see anything wrong with you, chico! You are still the same as you have always been and I thought you didn't care what a whore like me thought of you? I am honored you hold my opinion in such high esteem, though! Maybe now you will admit your secret love and admiration for me~?" he added playfully.

The blond boy got a look of confusion, or judgement, on his face to Rutilio's comment. He then rolled his eyes and threw his arms into the air before going over to his bed and plopping down on the edge. How was he supposed to respond to that? After a minute though, he finally did.

"...I don't admire you..."

Christian blushed gently, but did not make eye contact with the older boy, waiting to hear how the other resond.

Florida was quiet for a moment as he processed his rival's response. He had expected to be called an idiot, kicked out or even hear a series of denials, but the only thing that the Georgian was denying was admiring him. Did he not hear the full taunt or was he being made fun of in some way? No, Christian could be sneaky sometimes, but his posture and expression was that of a nervous yet honest and vulnerable person. He never truly believed something similar to this could actually happen. Rutilio felt his chest tighten and swell painfully with something akin to a cautious hope he hadn't been faced with in years. Instinctively he squelched the feeling as experience cautioned him against it. That sort of thing had led him down the wrong road before... Eventually he smiled faintly and decided to be at least somewhat honest. He couldn't be too careful, but if Georgia was trying to say what he thought he was then it might be best to at least give him some of the truth.

"... I have someone I love," Rutilio admitted as his voice became softer and melancholy. "I have never told you before, but... there is someone I have loved for a very long, long time. I secretly gave my heart to them to hold until they could return or reject that love. Then my most precious person disappeared one day and took my heart with them." He chuckled humorlessly. "I shouldn't have given that person something I couldn't get back. Every now and then I think I see their ghost, but... even if I die I doubt I will ever meet them again in the afterlife."

Florida was quiet a moment as he allowed that to sink in and his expression brightened back to his usual sunniness but there was some lingering bitterness in his eyes. "I... do not think I am able to feel that way about anyone except that person," he said.

The second Florida mentioned he already loved someone, Georgia felt his own chest tighten and a slight sting at the back of his eyes. He had to fight the urge to keep from allowing his face to change at all from what it had been before Florida began talking about this... This person he seemed to feel so strongly for. However, despite his best efforts, towards the end, Georgia just ended up looking slightly bitter as well. He tried to snort or huff or something, but it just came off as a dry chuckle. He smirked bitterly and pulled one of his legs to his chest, hugging it against himself before looking to Florida.

"Well, thanks for confirming that there is something wrong with me, then. Glad to have that covered and out of the way. It's so stupid... I'm ******** stupid! I should have known better than to think for a moment that-- Ugh, whatever. At least it's out there, now. Maybe now I can just... Start being normal and thinking things'll ever change, I guess."

He yanked off his green socks and tossed them over to the rest of his uniform before slipping his dog tags off and putting them in his nightstand drawer before he stood up and walked over to Florida. He glared down at him, half-heartedly, before rolling his eyes and shoving the Floridian just hard enough to get him out of his door way. "You're in my way..." he mumbled before he made his way to the kitchen and pulled a beer and some peaches from the fridge and cracked the beer open before he went in search for his recipe book so that he could start getting ready for tomorrow's cultural festival.

Florida was silent as he watched Georgia's expression and mannerisms change. There was something about that chuckle which made his stomach churn uncomfortably. It was so... odd. That bitterness was so very, very odd and foreign to him. Not because he didn't think Christian was capable of it (of course he knew that better than anyone) but the fact that it was coming out because of Georgia's feelings towards him was a little hard to process. He always suspected that the younger boy cared more about him than he let on. However... did he really care that much?

It was strange to think of anyone, especially George Christian, caring that much about him.

Rutilio grunted softly when he was shoved and half-stepped, half-stumbled to the side then watched quietly as Georgia moved passed him almost as if he was a strange, foreign creature he had never seen before. The Floridian frowned almost suspiciously as he tried very hard to determine whether this was some kind of trick or not. "I suppose I should leave then...?" he asked uncertainly although he didn't really want to.
