Kouchi didn't answer her. Truth was, he wasn't sure that they would in fact see her again. Once the survivors got to the mainland, they would go their seperate ways, possibly taking Jade with them.
Maybe thats for the best...
He put the unconscious Parth in one of the boats. "If he wakes up angry, tell him to find me and we'll argue about it then," he told one of the men in the boat. They couldn't afford to drag him along with them and they weren't going to leave him alone in the woods.

Takara stood there watching as one of the boats began to row away, taking Jade with them..she knew within her heart that most likely she wouldnt see the little girl. "How much she had grow fond of this child bringing herself and Kouchi close but yet still far apart." she thought to herself. Looking down at the rocks at the shore, tears were flowing down her cheeks as she wiped them away...."now wasnt the time to cry." she told herself.

Kouchi helped push off the second boat. He watched as the two boats slowly disappeared on the horizon. He glanced back at the handful of survivors that had chose to stay and wait. It was mostly men, but there were a few women and their children remaining.
Kouchi looked over at Takara and saw her tears. He walked over to her. "She'll be safe and thats all that really matters," he said quietly. He hesitated for a minute, then slowly brought his arm up around her shoulders.

Wiping the tears from her face, "I know Kouchi, but..she's all alone out there." she softly said and then before she knew what she was actually doing she placed her head upon his shoulder, as she began to cry again. "I dont know what I would do if I lost someone else again, Kouchi.."

He looked down at her before gently squeezing her. He glanced back up towards the horizon. "Then we'll just have to survive this ordeal and go find her."

Feeling his embrace, Takara slowly pulled away from his arms and tried to smile.."I hope you really mean that Kouchi." she softly said as she stared into his eyes....
But this quiet moment they were having was disrupted by some growling noise not to far from where they were standing.." I do believe we have company."

Kouchi didn't turn around. "Do I even want to know?"
He wasn't in the mood for more fighting, especially since all he had was the lycan blade.
Can't believe I lost Wolfsbane....

"Dont worry Kouchi, I do believe its just echo's Im hearing." she softly said and then moved away completely from his embrace..shaking her head.

Kouchi nodded, hoping she was right. Suddenly, one of the women remaining behind them screamed. Kouchi turned quickly on his heel to see what the problem was. "This isn't good..."
They were surrounded by the mad ones, mouths foaming and eyes blood red. Kouchi drew the lycan blade, though he knew it would do little good against them.

Hearing the screams, Takara took the sword that she had draped over her shoulder and turned with weapon in hand. "This is it Kouchi..til the end." and with that she charged towards the mad ones..

"Takara!!" Kouchi dashed after her as the mad ones prepared to pounce on her. Suddenly, the large lycan burst through the trees, swinging Wolfsbane. The mad ones howled as the blade sliced them, leaving nothing but bones and red mist. They turned they attention fully towards the lycan.

Takara was so angry and hurt inside that she didnt care anymore, all she wanted was the fighting to end and that she can once again be in the arms of her lover..with sword drawn back she began to attack the mad one that was about to pounce upon her. Striking it with her sword she realized that her weapon was useless against the likes of these creatures. But she didnt give up she continued to strike against this one until she finally was able to slice its head off.

The large lycan finished off the last of the mad ones, then turned his glance to Takara. "These people were our food source!!" he roared. He started to walk towards her as Kouchi came up beside her.

Glaring at the lycan.."Food source, well then you'll have to find a different source." she yelled at him..for she just pictured this creature eating Jade..with that she was about to attack, she drew back her sword and was about to charge at him when the huge one grabbed hold of her sword and held it up into the air with her along with it.

Blood began to trickle down the blade from the cut that had formed where the lycan was holding it. He snarled at her before squeezing his fist and snapping the blade in two. "You are weak and pathetic...humans always have been." Suddenly, he cried out in pain as he dropped Takara.
"I got you."
Kouchi caught her and started to run the other way. He had jammed his sword into the lycan's leg, causing him to drop Takara.
