__"Wooow... Lady, you are reaaaaaaaally tall. Like, just... wow." Zhi could be seen standing at the base of the tree the strange woman was on. The little speedster had seemingly came out of nowhere and was now just admiring the woman's height from behind. The context of the conversation was omitted from Zhi's attention for the time being. It seemed like quite the ruckus was going on around the whole village while she had been staying busy playing games with the head maid. Wait. Wait wait wait. It was really cold, wasn't it? Zhi's focused abruptly shifted toward the ground and she let loose an excited, yet scared shriek. "GWAAAAH!?!? WHAT IS ALL THIS STUFF ON THE GROUND!? WHERE DID THE SAND GO?" She started bouncing around in place from one foot to the other as she studied the foreign substance. "It's.... so crunchy and cold, but wet. Ice? But... it's so sparkly and soft too." She completely forgot about the others for a moment to squat down and scoop some of the snow up into her hands. "Oh? Oooooooh!?" Her big blue eyes became fixed on it as she excitedly kneaded it into a ball. Zhi's confusion was quickly overridden with glee and she felt this strange instinctive urge to throw it. Fwoosh! The snowball would fly super duper fast thanks to a little jinton kick to peg the tall tree-walking lady in the back of the neck. Hit or miss, Zhi broke out into an adorable fit of laughter at the activity she had just discovered. "Bwahahaahahah! Neeeeeeeat!" She immediately squatted down to repeat the process in the meantime.

... At Bleum's reply, Yugen leaned back and cocked his head, hands on his hips. "Are you certain, Bleum?" he inquired amatively. One of his eyes nearly closed as his expression changed to one of mild blithe. In his coy gaze he was certain she was merely jesting, but Bleum was much too proud and independent a lady to admit it. After all, she was a kunoichi! Her kind were few and far between. That matter alone made her grow ever captivating in his inflamed heart. Albeit, I too, would never admit to this euphoria she arises within me. Yugen was not through reveling in her appeal when Karuto distracted his attention with words of valiance and self sacrifice. Does he not believe that we can handle ourselves? Yugen almost audibly scoffed. He shook his head to himself in dismay. We took out those snowmen earlier with relative ease, no thanks to them. his rose quartz eyes danced twixt Masato and Karuto, the two whom had gone back to back earlier, just in time to witness the destruction of the remaining snowmen. While their assistance was appreciated, Yugen did not wish to be hand held throughout the entire course of his shinobi career.
Karuto would stay behind with them. Yugen noted the larger male's crack at Masato. Undoubtedly these two were friends, if not at least acquaintances; perhaps even rivals. Hamstrings did not hesitate to approach the group Yugen was included in: Bleum, Loki, Shin, and himself. He elected to give Karuto an ear as they spoke. A team... just like that, huh? This will be interesting. he speculated as his eyes examined his other teammates. Bleum and Loki were assuredly reliable companions, however Yugen was uncertain of their final member, this Shin. He had yet to prove himself to him; Yugen was in no rush to discover his talents. In fact he was convinced that this situation might reveal what Shin was capable of. Before Yugen could further analyze Karuto's words and their lineup, the apparent group leader began flexing out of nowhere. Well now Yugen wasn't the shy one, hence he would likely be the first to speak his mind on the matter. "Was that.. really necessary." he nearly whispered the utterance. He stated it as a declaration rather than an inquiry merely for the fact that he didn't believe it to be so. Nevertheless, this was to be their sensei, was it not? He figured he'd at least attempt to respect the man even if the seen could not be unseen; and it'd be easier for Yugen to do so if Karuto might be able to prove himself to them.
Yugen turned to Bleum. He was certain that by this moment, his lass would be in literal tears. But heavens no! Some god or goddess must've bestowed upon her the blessing of restraint for she was as dignified as a queen! For the most part.. however that stifled laughter had no way of getting past Yugen. Nice try. he minded with a subtle smirk of his own to share. Shortly after her amusement, Bleum lit up with a glorious declaration. Yugen had to agree. That....doesn't sound like the best name for a team, but- he's free to have at it. he supposed to himself with a shrug. Even though he was the creative sort, Yugen could not think of a proper name, at least not in this situation. The event stirred his emotions very much so. There were many feelings fleeting through his head and he had the wild thought that this image might simply make a wonderful masterpiece at a later time. Bleum soon stated her talents and had Yugen emitting a slight simper.I suppose we could dabble in some genjutsu later, together..he had the idea of training her, at least so that she could become more experienced with the art itself.
Shortly after Bleum voiced her answer, it was Yugen's turn. The young man turned his gaze onto Karuto's own blazing embers and began, "I've a moderate knowledge regarding fuuton and suiton, and as you can see..." he began before gesturing toward Shin, "Some experience in medical techniques." explained Yugen. He thought to keep his greater talents to himself, for he did not truly trust these acquaintances yet. Karuto was allegedly familiar with Shin's talents, causing Yugen's hues to peruse the boy. "What of you," he inquired of Shin, before turning to Karuto, "And you, chief?" It'd be helpful to know how all of them might perform before the inevitable battle.
Alright! The fiery throngs of battle passion were running wild through these kids! Well, maybe not as much as he would have liked, but they were reciprocating his feelings of enthusiasm without him having to order them to aid him. He noticed Bleum's bouts of barely suppressed laughter, Shin's indifference and Yugen's aloofness. The latter struck him as a many to attempt to be too "cool for school." He hoped that he would lighten up, have some fun, more like Bleum. All in all, he still related to shin more than the other two, but that was neither here nor there. Karuto listened to all their strengths. Bleum was versitile while Yugen was more specialized. He was a good support Shinobi, that much he knew for certain. Shin couldn't fight without popping the gates, and once he did that he was on a timer. It would be hard for him to engage in any prolonged battle. All in all, he decided Bleum and Loki were likely the most adaptable pair.
Nodding with his trademark grin, he gave the kids a quick thumbs up "Alright! That's what I am talking about! Here's the plan- We'll move to the area of heaviest snowman infestation and engage the creatures in order to draw more of the Fairy's power and, thus help Masato in his own battle" He continued his battle planning, displaying a level of analysis and critical thinking skills the new genin likely did not think he was capable of displaying after his introduction moments ago "Shin and myself will be on the front line with Bleum and Loki at Mid-Range. Yugen, you will fill in any gaps and provided long range support. Should anything happen to me..." At this, he quickly extended his arm and pointed a finger at the girl of the squad "Bleum shall take command and lead the squad heroically!!"
Looking over to Yugen, he tilted his head slightly "Oh, what can I do? Well, I guess that's fair" At this, Karuto knelt down and picked up a rock the size of his fist. Without the slightest bit of visible effort or exertion, he crushed it in his palm "I just hit things very hard until they stop hitting back" Turning on his heel, he wheeled his arm over his shoulder in a motion for the squad to join him "C'mon, we're heading for the Fountain Square. It's a large, open area so odds are the Fairy will have a sizeable force there" With his orders dispersed, he would lead his squad there, itching for a good fight

As things progressed Shin started to err get a grip on things so to speak. Sorta of. Nearly. Mainly he had a desination now laid out and the game plan was being written for him which was beyond fine in Shin's own opinion. Maybe that would be Karuto's true super power in his life that would make up for him also being Shin's leader, organization. Not to say he was terrible with organization but rather he just realllllly couldn't be bothered when most of his plans boiled down to hit stuff really hard. Which, of course, was exactly how Karuto described himself.
When the question was flipped on Shin the young man finally made full eye contact with Yugen, giving a bit of a laugh before he answered. "Much the same as boss man over there. Difference is he uses many styles of hand to hand. Meanwhile I just have gates, which means I hit stuff very hard but like, VERY hard, before I'm just floored for the rest of the fight.
Oh and if you ever need a wing man picking up chicks, don't hesitate to ask" Shin added as an after thought, passing a side glance to the groups one female member. He was rather good at picking up chemistry between people but still wasn't quite sure if those two were a thing. He always liked to help people get together though, when he wasn't busy making a fool of himself trying to get some else where.
Shin blinked a few times as Karuto announced they'd be leaving but he didn't dispute it. In fact he was quick to raise his fist and give a hollering shout "Let's get to it! ROLL OUT BOYS", before dashing off after the massive man of meat. If there's anything his new squad members could tell about him it was that he had an almost unnatural amount of confidence in himself and those around him, flowing amounts of positivity that infected every inch of his being. For Shin a bad day was just the beginning of a good one that hadn't quite started yet.
Bleum noted quite quickly that Yugen was not up to revealing all of his cards, so she wondered if she had said too much. It wasn't as though the girl was worried, though. She listened instead intently on Karuto's plans. However, at some point her brows interlaced with questioning at his wording. Why is it that he was so vested in helping this "Masato" person with his own fight against the fairy? Were they not to help defeat her for the entirety of Sunagakure? Why was this Masato so worth protecting when Bleum had heard nothing about him and didn't remember him as being an integral part of Sunagakure. There were so many questions on her mind regarding this ninja, and she would be sure to ask for clarity once this was over. Especially from Karuto, seeing as she seemed to have a close relationship to the ninja.
She dropped the topic for now as Karuto called out rolls. While she knew that she would be capable in the front lines, she didn't have half as much training done as both of the males before her. She liked the idea of providing mid-range defense and offense along with Loki. It was Karuto's next words that had her eyes widening in surprise. She didn't expect anything to happen to the male in a battle such as this, but did he really think that she was capable of taking command? She quickly spoke up with a quick wave of the hand, " There is no I in team. If anything were to happen to Karuto we will all work together as a unit to surge forward and protect Sunagakure with our collective efforts. " She offered a kind smile towards all of the new members. Bleum was far too humble to elevate herself above the others. They were all an integral and strong part of the team in their own way.
As he had proven before and she had heard from his prior fight against the Skeleton King, Karuto was a strong individual. Now she also knew that Shin offered much the same capability. Bleum was proud to be able to bring some versatility to the team, and she knew more than anyone that Yugen was needed in this team. His strengths would prove a great asset to them all, and she was sure the team would notice that soon enough. With Karuto signaling their next destination Bleum nodded her head and took action along with Loki to move forward with the newly formed squad. Her heart was beating a mile a minute as the team yelled out their enthusiasm and encouragements. " Let's show them what we're made of! " she added in a cheer of her own.
... Sounds like a plan. Yugen thought, stretching his arms and interlocking his hands behind his head as he assumed a more relaxed stance. It was interesting that he was being assigned as the long range fighter of their group, considering he had not mentioned anything of using genjutsu, or his bloodline. However this was fine with him since he considered the role to fit him rather perfectly: a square peg in a square hole. With Karuto and Shin taking the front, whatever opponents they faced would have to contend with the tremendous amount of pressure those two fighters had to offer. Bleum and Loki could easily care for the gap twixt them and Yugen, keeping the enemy at a safe distance. In the meantime, he'd be able to distract the opponents with appropriate genjutsu to fit whatever situation his team may face. Not bad, not a bad setup at all... he thought as his eyes perused their surroundings. The creatures were growing restless, meaning that the shinobi were overstaying their welcome here, given the critical scenario they faced.
Suddenly their squad leader crushed a rock in his grips, causing Yugen's attention to bounce back to Karuto. "I can see that." he uttered, seemingly calm in spite of the male's show of strength. Yugen figured that those muscles weren't merely for show. Question is, are you all brawn? he wondered to himself, hoping that his thoughts would not prove true come what may. Shin soon spoke up too, adding on that he was also a taijutsu specialist in his own element. Shin stated that his power came from his gates.Does he mean the eight inner gates?The idea crossed his mind. Yugen recollected some mention of it in his lessons while training under his father, among other tutors. He could however use a refresher on that course. Nevertheless it was no wonder Shin would get floored if he dared to utilize that sort of jutsu. "That explains why your muscles were so torn up when I treated you. Careful out there," Yugen quietly explained as a smirk graced his lips, "I could not entirely repair the moderate damage dealt to your skeletal structure. Those stress fractures could grow aggravated should you continue fighting, like that..." he stated in somewhat of a nonchalant manner as his hand found his hip.
Yugen cocked his head to the side and eyed the boy's body from head to toe, wondering how much more Shin could take.. and how much more Yugen would have to heal him before the end of this fight. He'd have to make sure to save a good amount of chakra for healing once all was said and done. ...so, we're off to help this Masato character and deal with more snowmen. Those two seem to have an intriguing relationship. Wonder why I haven't seen him around here before. Thoughts traversed his mind but not for long as Shin mentioned that he'd be his wing-man if Yugen might ever need one. Yugen breathed a chuckle and continued to smile lightly. "Sure. I'll keep that in mind..." he said in a tone sprinkled with sarcasm. His hues hovered from Shin's and onto Bleum, who seemed just as ready to roll out. "Very well." a final song slivered from his lungs before they departed the area. First they would exit the shack, then the forest. Yugen took note of a familiar form on their way out. Was that the same Nariomi he had seen on the big screen? And he seemed to be faced with someone brimming with energy. Yugen's rose quartz eyes widened momentarily. His glowing eyes moved from the two off in the distance and back to their group's fleeting path, ahead.
As the woman made her appearance known, Nari held his fire to examine the woman. She was, uncannily beautiful. Yet despite her beauty he knew the strength this woman held first hand. When she admitted to kidnapping Sonyo he twitched in anger a bit,"That woman is stronger then you or I will ever be. But you threaten every single thing I hold dear in this life. If you had simply went after the skeleton king directly I may have let you kill him. My ancestor given gifts are a small price to pay for the safety of a village and the people I love. But you didnt, we both know how this has to end...." His voice, towards the end was almost sad. Taking a deep breath he allowed his chakra to begin to build and circulate. Small black and emerald streams leaking from every pore of his body,"Prepare yourself. I will not strike till you are ready."

The Snow Queen was about to respond poetically to Nariomi's words when something hit her on the side of the head. It didn't hurt her, and since she was already colder than ice she didn't feel the snow as the absence of heat. Her eyes glared down at the blue haired girl who was giggling to herself. She sighed as the snow crystal on the end of her staff glowed. A gust of wind lifted from the massive snow around Zhi, which caused about eight pounds of snow to fly up at the girl's face. It wasn't meant to be an attack so much as one would shoo a fly around. Her focus resumed to Nariomi. She laughed at his words. "I thought a Ninshuu sage was not supposed to hold any official ties to a village? How does one hold everything dear when they're not supposed to get attached?" She asked solemnly. She shrugged her shoulder as her arm extended and the snow staff was pointed at Nariomi.
"Well, enough of hypocrisy. Once I have your blood, the Skeleton King shall die, and then I can move beyond this overtly warm village." She said with vindication. The snowflake glowed as above it a giant sphere of water formed. Tendrils of water shot out and went to attack the man from all angles. As the tendrils approached Nariomi they froze into ice, while still retaining the momentum and movement of water. This gave the tendrils all ice spikes at the end and increased their strength and fortitude, but still gave them to the freedom to be moved and strike. There were eight tendrils on the first wave of attack. Three from over head, two forward, and three from the angles around him.
(Wind Levitation: E-ranked Water Dragon Whip: S-ranked Freezing of water ninjutsu to turn them into ice: Boost the power to S+ rank Reg: Zhi should be able to sense this is a being which bypasses the amount of chakra one usually has. She can probably even sense that there's no way for it to be human. I think you can sense that she would have access to the yuki and snow bloodline, as well as the wind and water element.)
While the young woman, if she could be called that, did bring up a good point, it was one he could not focus on right now. He would have to address it at some other point. For now he had a battle to win. The womans attack was a good one, surround the target from all angles to cut off escape. Though she neglected to attack him from below. So he simply leaned back and plummeted towards the forest floor. Grabbing a length of branch with his left hand he shifted from vertical momentum to horizontal and sent himself flying through the forest. Time to see how good she was at target tracking. As he moved he would dump arrows out of his left and right quiver, scatting them across the forest floor.

__ A counter ambush! Zhi detected the wind chakra building around her, but was so distracted trying to make a snowball that she'd next find herself under quite the pile of snow. She quickly dug herself back out of it, coughing on the powdery cold water upon resurfacing, "Pwegh gehegh!" She shook her body from head to heel, admiring the silvery sparkles that flew off her body. Zhi's gaze shifted up to the sage guy and the snow lady who were starting to fight. Now that she was actually paying attention, it occurred to her that things were pretty serious over here. Although, her sensory also noted that other areas of the village were in quite the disarray too. "Hmmn... what to do?" She pondered aloud while the overly powerful Nariomi evaded the other super ice lady's attack and scattered his arrows all about. Sad as it was, there was only so much support she could offer right now, but she had a feeling this wasn't someone that anyone should fight alone. Zhi grumbled incoherently under her breath, but then locked onto something very peculiar. 'Taylor?' Her hand slipped up to her hair tied back by the gift she received from her very precious friend. The orb disbursed as Nariomi fled to the forest below. It was clear that he intended to put distance between himself and her. That almost worked. Unfortunately, as a spirit The Snow Queen's sensory power was unmatched. His use of nature chakra made him particularly easy to find. "You can run, but you can't hide Ninshuu sage." She chanted. Her snow spear glowed as her whole body glowed as well. A mirror of ice formed to her left as she then leaped through it. A connected mirror formed right by Nariomi as the woman leaped through it and appeared right to his right, although about still six feet away. It was then that he should be aware of the height of the eight foot spirit, as well as the size of her ten foot spear. With one hand she thrusted her spear to the lower portion of Nariomi. It would easily hit his pelvis area if he did not dodge, and if he did dodge then it would cause enough force that when it hit the ground, a crater would form.

While the snow queen gave away that she could sense him, he was was not so kind as to return the favor. Twisting his body he felt the spear drag across his bone armor, shatter the bone armor it impacted, tore the cloth, and then bounced off of the impact armor covering his skin below it. Wrapping his leg around her spear he leveled his bow. Drew the arrow. Watched it glow emerald, and unleashed the dark bolt from his weapon. At the point blank range he doubted she would block it though he hoped she would use the spear to block it. Given that the spear would probably shatter from the force of the arrow.

Dark Shot Rank: A :: Complex (boosted to S+ speed and S STR) Description: The user builds Chakra into the tip of an arrow, causing it to rapidly spin when fired. The spin increases the arrow’s penetrating power to phenomenal levels, allowing it to easily pierce through three armored foes. This arrow is very difficult to follow, leading to the name of the technique. Despite its phenomenal piercing ability, because it does not stick in a target, the wounds caused tend to be cleaner than if the arrow had been fired regularly and are much easier to heal.

The Snow Queen's eyes widened when the spear's attack did not break the impact armor. A sword formed out of water in her left hand as it froze to ice. The sword was used to block the arrow, but the sheer force of the arrow forced The Snow Queen to fly back several feet and away from her staff. However, as the staff fell, it instead to flew over to her grip and straighten itself out. She gently placed her staff on the ground as she gracefully straightened herself back out. "Excellent work Human Sage. I can see why The Skeleton King chose you to be representative for your bloodline." She said with a glorious laugh. She then smiled in a sinister manner. "It's a good thing I have a contingency plan in case you wouldn't fall easily. Another way to end your bloodline." She spoke vaguely for a purpose. She wanted him to know that she had one more card up her sleeve. And with any luck, her alternative plan was ready.

So his arrow did not succeed in his original plan. But it did force the snow queen to show a bit more of her hand. Each time they clashed he learned a bit more about her and soon he would see her full hand. While she seemed content to talk he simply, breathlessly, poured his chakra into his arms and legs forcing them to glow green. However, this woman was a serious threat and he needed to try and make some ground towards putting her down. Looking at his quivers he had two normal arrows and two dead cross arrows. The rest were scattered around the battlefield. Plan C. Crude but it would be effective. Getting to his feet he quickly knocked the last two normal arrows and ducked behind a tree. Firing them directly into the air he kicked off the tree and began counting in his head. While he knew she could sense his location he was about to put her choices to the test. With a fluid motion he primed and drew a single dead cross arrow. Dipping around the tree he knelt and without a seconds delay fired the arrow clean and clear at the ground before the woman. He knew she could sense the immense chakra in the arrow, as well as the fact that the two he had fired upwards were now racing towards her in the form of two normal arrows and forty emerald chakra arrows. Which would she address? the inevitable explosion from the dead cross or the barrage of chakra arrows?

Valkyrie Rank: A :: Complex Description: The user floods their legs and arms with Chakra, causing them to glow brightly in the color of the user’s Chakra. This state drastically increases the user’s jump speed and range, as well as the rate at which he or she can fire arrows. During this time, any technique that involves the firing of an arrow only consumes half an activation and jumps made with the Soft Physical Formless Style are treated as complex and gain a 15 meter increase in length. Lasts for 3 posts.
Targeted Rain x2 Rank: A :: Complex Description: The user fires an arrow over a target. At the top of its arc, the arrow suddenly launches 10-20 Chakra arrows directly downward, each one with a C-Rank amount of force behind it. The additional arrows are made of Chakra, and vanish after two posts.
Dead Cross Rank: S :: Complex Description: The user fires an arrow covered in an explosive seal. When the arrow hits its target, it detonates, causing an explosion large enough to remove sections of forest from the map. Seal must be pre-made and takes ten [10] out-of-battle posts to engrave, subject to post reductions from Wood-smithing. Only one explosion may be activated at a time.

The Snow Queen readied herself to the arrows when all of the sudden, she felt very weak. Her sister, the Sugar Plum fairy, was defeated by mortal ninjutsu. This caused panic to sink into her heart. She couldn't waste anymore time on this fight with Nariomi. So in a defeated sigh, the woman's staff glowed as she body flickered away from the forest. She made herself immune to sensory powers in order to forbid him from knowing where she was heading.
(Body Flicker. Alright to everyone at this moment, I'm going to keep the arc on a slight delay until the VOID story arc finishes. It should move relatively soon since we have one more post from Sonyo and then Zhi can break the group free, and once that happens I'll give everyone a quote to head over there.)
