Beloved Stargazer

This wasn't working out. There was just too much of his element and not enough of him to channel it. But he continued, mixing the chaotic noises of the ballroom together in his little radius. Let it work. Let it actually accomplish something. Let him actually be useful in this sea of super-powered being much more destructive and much more skilled than he was.

He was sweating, he was shaking, he was weakening quickly, too quickly. This was all too much for a starter senshi like him, but he couldn't have said no, just couldn't.

He only saw Zanazziite charging for a dead angle too late. He moved, tried to dodge, but he didn't move quickly enough. Both antlers hit square on target, and Themis crumbled back, sliding below a table and hitting the wall with a perticularely loud thud.

And then nothing. It was all fine, right ? All he needed to do was gather his composture and go charge at the person who attacked him, right ?

Minutes passed, and Themis didn't come back out.

His weapon was good for one thing. Distance. He moved past the group, watching Berly and the others around Castor. He would at least ATTEMPT to get the crystal that Beryl so badly wanted, but he wasn't about to take his eyes and attention off of Castor. He was his personal priority, but he was always duty bound and would never go against orders. If the Earth's welfare rested on this cake-beast and it's crystal, he was going to try his best to get it. Just one thing. He was short, and the crystal was on the tippy-top.

No one could say he didn't at least try.

As he whipped his chain back, hoping it at least sailed close or struck the senshi, he ran up and using his new power as a Captain, jumped up to try and get that crystal. He didn't care about the cake and he wasn't about to spend time eating it. There were plenty of eager mouths gulping up the giant pastries foundation, and he was just doing this one little thing before he landed, turned around, and went right back to fighting.

And so he tried.....

Orion was momentarily distracted by Chibimoon's scream but was totally distracted by another, much closer to him. Whipping around he saw the rose and he saw Devi, and he saw that Devi wasn't moving. He didn't even think he just acted throwing himself in front of her and pulling her to him, the rose that was about to hit the younger girl in the face smashing into his back instead. He winced, those things were painful, but he didn't fall.

Shaking off the pain he looked around, keeping Devi close, he didn't need her to get hurt and have that on his conscious. He had a decision to make, take Devi with him to meet up with his team or momentarily abandon them to get her to safety. He was torn, but ultimately the decision was made when he looked back down at Devi. She didn't have any powers to protect herself, if he left her she'd most likely get seriously hurt, again and he couldn't deal with that.

"You know, you have a knack for getting in trouble." He grinned at her, unable to help some of his flirtatiousness coming through. "It's a good thing I've been around to save you."

Devi winced as Sailor Orion took the pain for her. He was...her hero! She already had a busted chin from her fall, and he saved her from a broken nose - or worse. What made him do such a thing?

"I have a feeling my ex-boyfriend is around," Devi started, in response to Orion's question. "Normally terrible things happen when we're in the same place at once. I'm starting to think its my own bad luck! But I still blame Damian." Realizing that this chaotic event that she thought only existed in video games and movies was - with indoor rain, fiery monsters, icy floors, cake monsters, super heroes, and evil magic queens and the like - she thought that perhaps its not the best time to talk about her love life. "Enough about him, he's a jackass. What the hell is going on here? Who is that woman and why does that cake monster look so delicious?"

Serandite was quite honored-- it wasn't a mere senshi who chose to pick a fight with her. It was Princess Chronos. Even though the other's tiara sliced through her bunny, causing the bunny to sag and fall forth, slumped, it didn't hit the captain behind it. (You could say the bunny was a sacrificed shield for the moment.)

The sacrifice of her weapon was nothing if that meant her Queen didn't retain any damage-- thankfully, the weapon was think enough to take the tiara before it could hit Beryl. At times like these, Serandite wished she had a more useful weapon that could have reflected the tiara like a sword, still capable of use. But she didn't and her bunny was no longer in commission.

Serandite darted forward, determined to, at the very least, distract Chronos to eliminate one massive enemy for her Queen. "It's an honor to finally meet you, Princess Chronos. Unfortunately, tonight's not your night. You're not getting past me-- much less, past my queen." Serandite grinned, aiming a round-house kick to the green haired princess.

She didn't want to fight Chibimoon-- but Chronos, she didn't know and didn't care.

When her antlers hit their target and the senshi hit the ground Zan couldn't help but grin, she did something right! Always a good feeling. Now she just had to get closer to her queen to try and protect her. Turning her back on Themis she headed towards Beryl. She'd protect her Queen with her life, the power of the Negaverse had been changing her for months and she wasn't as meek as she used to be.

Close, but no cigar. He landed on broken glasses and his heels as he turned around on his heels and looked at the mess. Burning chairs, torn curtains, broken windows, snow, fire, cold, hot, a shimmering crystal atop a flailing cake as faces threw great handfuls into their mouths, chewing with a sort of weary sickness. It lacked the sort of raw action and aggression he wanted, and instead of sugary sweets, he turned back, gathering up his chain and moving back to Beryl's side where other Negaversers were aiding their Queen. True, she was the Queen and could handle herself, but that was his fear. He wanted to kill Castor before her. He wanted to ripe his face off and stomp on the repulsive skin with his shoes or fold it up and cut it up to make a gorey snowflake.

He made himself seen, and he wanted to show Castor he was present. His face wasn't cocky, but hard, his teeth gritting. "We meet again." The Eternal might have a moment to gather who he was. New uniform. New weapon. New eyepatch. He hoped the clues would be quick to catch in his mind. Most of all, he wanted him to see he was ALIVE.

He gripped the blades, hoping to keep the senshi from using his ice weapons, and hoping they hadn't landed on their mark. He was a Captain, but even inside, he feared a sort of power he could not match.

Bellatrix had started to turn her attention to Chibimoon when the familiar image of Serandite caught her eye. A scowl formed on the senshi's face - one of recognition. She didn't care if she was or wasn't Serandite's target, Bellatrix began to charge her attack. Though she had greater control over it, her attack still held the same temporarily paralyzing effect...if it hit. Right now Bellatrix's foundation was still a little rocky amidst this chaos, and her control not all there.

"Bellatrix Amazon Chakram!" A golden disc of energy was sent towards Serandite. But would Bellatrix manage to make contact?

Orion didn't have much warning that he was about to get slandered. Well, maybe slandered wasn't the right word since terrible things did tend to happen when they were together, but he wasn't a jack a**!....At least not all the time. "Well, I'm usually pretty lucky. Maybe if we stick together we'll manage to survive this." His grip on her loosened, but his hand slid down her arm to take hers, just to keep her close not because he missed holding her hand or anything, of course not.

"That woman is Queen of the Negaverse and that cake monster looks delicious because it is. I'd offer you some, but I rather not risk you getting pelted with another rose or firey sparks." He looked away from the cake youma and back to Devi. "We should really get you out of here."

Castor hissed in anger as a small body collided with his, his attack cut off. He had been close. So close. The queen was right there, he could have hit her, slowed her, done something! But it was moot. He'd lost momentum, falling to the side.
Landing in a pile of fallen streamers, the hail senshi emerged to find his assailant. "Didn't the b***h queen teach you not to bite off more then you can chew runt?" A second try. This time, it was focused on the small black form of Wolframtite. "HEAVEN'S FURY!"

“Raocoon?” Sinon managed to sputter out while her mouth was filled with sponge cake and frosting. Not-so-secretly, she was immensely enjoying this. Curiously following Azzo’s gaze, she was surprised to find some guy clad . . . not like a senshi.

She chewed on the large bits of cake in her mouth, managing to swallow the bolus despite the difficult size. “Laocoon?” she repeated with clarity this time, staring at the cape-donning lad with interest. Something about him labeled him neither as a Negaverse, but neither as a senshi. His aura was not dark, yet his outfit did not contain the clear elements of a senshi—miraculously she had picked up these common attributes.

“I’d ask you what exactly you are first, but I think it’d be better if I asked why you have a spazzy feline on your head instead.”

Like hell he was going to fall for that trick again. He was NOT going to forget his lesson about how a direct attack would do to him. He had one eye left. One. He made a mistake and he was useless to everyone. He would rather die than let that happen again! Castor's attack might have chilled him to the center, but the idea of letting him go, to not be here, burned blowtorch flames in him that didn't tolerate leaving. He had to be here. He WANTED to be here, and most of all, he wanted to have his chance again and again until Castor was either dead or so mutilated that he wished he was. The later was the most favored option, and he had the weapons to do so.

"Didn't YOUR b***h Queen tell you to make sure someone was dead?" Castor's mistake.

As Heaven's Fury came at him, Wolframite moved aside. Head on was not what he wanted, but a side attack left him open. He threw his weapons, letting the chain slide through his fingers, and then gripping it so that he yanked down, knowing that this would throw them either back or down. Either way, they would return, and he would slice again and again until he got the desired effect.

"You don't need to tell me twice," Devi joked. But, no, seriously, she wanted to get the ******** out of there ASAP. "I don't know how to get out of here without crossing through the chaos. Why don't you lead the way, and I'll follow?"

Captain

The battle for the Crystal -- which at this point had become an all-out warzone between the senshi and Negaverse -- had waned on for quite a long time. Many fighters were getting exhausted, having used reserves of energy they never even knew they had to call out attack after attack. There was plenty of growing stomachache as well, what with people gorging themselves on the strange monster-cake.

One Negaverse captain probably wasn't thinking about all of this as more bloodshed unfolded around him -- he was dutifully focused on his task. But suddenly Zinkenite became very aware of his position, and all the rampant noise began flooding into his ears, when his teeth just about chipped themselves on something hard and pointy.

There was no doubting what it was... the question was what to do now. Whatever that ended up being, it was probably a good idea for him to be quiet and lie as low as possible so no one else would notice what had happened.

It broke Neso's heart to see his princess with tears in her eyes. It was an all too common sight. "It'll be okay, Princess," he said, giving Flora a quick nod and relinquishing his hold on Chibimoon over to the police officer.

All of his nerves were forced aside, and Sailor Neso raised his hand above himself. The girl in front of him looked like a kid. Hell, her weapon was a bunny! But his princess had commanded it, and so it would be done.

When Serandite charged at the Princess, the senshi of summer threw his body between them, taking the full impact of her attack. Next to Serandite, Neso looked like a giant. But the little Negaverser packed a hell of a punch. It didn't stop Neso from gripping her wrist and twisting it backward with all his might, uttering a sharp, "NO."

Sort of like he was talking to a dog who had just tried to bite the neighbor kid.

When Laocoon rushed up beside her, Ares felt her resolve strengthen, giving her the urge to shovel down another mouthful of cake. So. Much. ********. Cake. And she didn't exactly approve of the taste, either. Or, you know, its mobility.

Then, there was a voice -- a voice like it was from a dream. Zirconia. The guardian cat from beyond the mirror. If Zirconia could make it through, then maybe...

The renewed flame of hope in her chest had Ares powering through another armful of cake. And then, another noise. This one vaguely metallic. Or was it gemstone? Her ears weren't keen enough to detect precisely where the sound was coming from.

In a panic, Ares launched her attack once more, coating the cake in a churning cloud of black smoke. "Ares Smothering Blast!" Under a cover of smoke, she fought blindly, unsure of who to attack and therefore settling for punching everything until she saw that goddamn crystal.
