The hard part would be getting enough people to buy tickets. Believe it or not, I saw a thread that is giving out 23 million gold in prizes for the people who draw the best couple art, yet only one person has entered so far, and the contest has been opened for a month. So, even if we have great prizes, it doesn't necessarily mean that we can generate interest. We would have to be very deliberate and strategic in doing a raffle, and we would have to advertise it like crazy. I did have one idea. We could have a special booty grab day where everyone plays booty grab a minimum of ten times that day, and everyone donates their winnings to the ball fund. The person with the highest score (recorded by a screenshot) will win a MC from this month (or something relatively nice, but relatively cheap like that), so that would serve as motivation. It's just an idea. Thats cool, but how are we going to organize that? And maybe we'll have some art contests, but with TONS of posting, because you know how those artists are! >.< lol With the extra posting, we'll have TONS of attention... at least I hope.... And maybe we could even connect it with our thread like the wrath room offical art contest or something... Or in shunatsu's case, the Envy room. And i know how you feel, shunatsu... sometimes our conversations get really interesting... The only problem with having art contests is that we would lose gold instead of making gold. We're not after art, so giving away prizes for art would be wasteful. It was just a random idea, but if we were to have a booty grab day, we would need to create a thread about a month in advance, and have people pledge to play and donate their winnings. If each person can donate 10k, and we give away an 80k item to the winner, that would mean that we would have to have a minimum of 9 participants to make a profit. We would need to do some big time advertising to try to fill up 100 slots. We could even promise each participant sign art since that doesn't take very long to do at all. hmmm... yeah... but it could be part of the contests.... if we needed like a specific type of art.... maybe we could do a tektek contest, for wrath and/or kindness so that it could be sort of like advertising and they'll wear it on the last day of the ball and announce the winner in front of everybody or someting... It'll definatly advertise our room and maybe even the whole ball.... yes, the booty grab thing is an awesome Idea... we could get Epcot to send an announcement to the Wrath Guild and shoot out a few pm's telling people to come and tell their friends, but not forcing them because that'll be against TOS...right?

XD I know, but it never hurts to come up with lots of ways of making gold for the ball. biggrin @Spotted - We would still be wasting gold if we did tektek contests. The idea is for us to make gold instead of giving it away. If we used the prizes I suggested, we could easily start a thread in the aquarium forum that would attract people's attention. We could grow it into almost a hangout type thread where people would pledge to participate. I know several people that would love to participate in it if we had one. Then again, like I said before, this is just an idea. But, it would be a fun one to try. We could suggest it to the fund-raising committee, and maybe we could get a good bit of gold from it. biggrin

It's just an idea. I think the reason people didn't enter that contest (I think I've seen it before) is because the rules were too specific. For you out there, it was that you have to keep the color scheme exactly the same. D: Hard!! Yea, if we do a lotto, it has to be big. What if we do a ton of little lottos with medium value items? Maybe that could work. OMGOMGOMG A BOOTY GRAB DAY???? (I think it's a great idea.) For the art contest, maybe you could have something small, like 200 gold, for every entry, and then a medium to not-so-expensive item for the prize, but they are promised advertising and featuring on the first page of the room. Maybe?

Maybe? That's assuming that they would have anything to advertise in the first place. If we were to do something like that, we would need to give them something that doesn't cost any gold so we could maximize our profits. We could even have avi art for the top three scorers or something like that, and not even have to spend 1g on the entire thing. biggrin And since, we have plenty of great artists, we could even raffle avi art in its own thread. xd

I think maybe the avi-art thing would be best since we won't have to spend anything, but if we're doing that we'll have to give away pretty awesome and unique art(or some sort of art-bundle) Cause I think most people wouldn't spend much money on an avi-art raffle if they couldn't win anything different

Yes. The raffle is also a good idea because the tickets will cost less than a regular art piece, and there's a chance of winning. Maybe we could have a large amount of tickets, and more than one number can win?

But I was wondering 'bout that bundle-thing; anyone think it could work? I was thinking, like, maybe you could get an OC-art plus posting layout or whatever; or you could get both thread layout and some 50 bumps?[very bad examples but I just don't have any ideas right now sweatdrop ] Something like a bundle with services that fit somehow.

-Hold a auction (like how the ball had one 2 years ago)
-Hold an art auction)
-50/50 raffle
With the art contest I see how we could do it. Like let's sayeach person pays 1k to enter. whoever wins gets 50% of whatever is made. so let's say 10 people enter that would equal 10,000 gold total. 5k goes to us and 5k to the winner so we wouldn't really lose any gold we would gain 5k.
