Droplets fell. The small individual drops of water that landed painted his obi, making sure to fall where ever they could on his massive body. The droplets that landed on his skin and hair gathered, then pooled, and finally slunk downwards to flow into his clothing. He felt the rain touch his skin and he felt the increasing weight of his soon to be soaked clothing.
The rain soothed and calmed him. Its wetness soddened his clothing and pressed them against his body, hugging him.
He sighed. Zenmaru shifted from the ground and stood up. His eyes looked on dispassionately at the already soaked corpses of the district. His mouth didn't move to acknowledge the woman's sympathizing words, nor did he try to do anything to show that he had listened to her. He just kept quiet as he looked on at the dead bodies.
After a moment of standing he walked forward. The 7'1 shinigami picked up as many bodies as he could and walked over to the chasms created by Shinrei. He tossed the bodies he had gotten into there and turned back to the multitude of other fallen souls. He continued to do the same thing--picking up the dead and dropping them off into the burial holes--and did not stop to heed anything that was being said/ordered by the other shinigami in the area.

Kaosu again arrived at the district; and this time he got a good look at everything that had happened. He couldn't understand the fact that so many were dead. It was...mind numbing. He looked straight down to the ground. They were right. All this...carnage... He sighed, and tried to pick up a young boy. He noticed, though, he had a hair color he could relate to. It was orange.
Kaosu looked away, leaning against a wall. No...you're stronger than this...just pick him up. He turned, and gulped. He gripped the boy's wrist, and it was horifficly cold. He held back the urge to vomit, and pulled the heavy and limp body off of the ground. He wrapped his hands around his waist, and finally drug him to Kaosu's shoulder. He led him to the small little pit, and dropped him down. He gagged. It was more than he could take.

Aichou, for her part, didn't do much of anything. She watches the sky..her sword hadn't been able to call the rain in a very long time. A low rumble was heard as thunder rolled across the clouded sky. She closes her eyes again, and touches her forehead to the hilt of the huge weapon..staring down at the ground once her eyes open.
"I never thought this would happen. But I guess as long as there's a chance, it will happen. We were lucky to escape..Ijust wish it hadn't been the way it was. Death happens. Not a lot we can do about it..but there is something that can be done afterwards."
And she stands up..and hefts the sword over her shoulder. The rain will stop soon..her sadness is fading..and when it fades the rain will stop.
"You know..I really..don't like thunder..but..I have to deal with it sometimes. Or my sword wouldn't ever forgive me."

One by one, Hiren continued to move bodies alongside Nagi.
"In a pile, in proper graves, all just to be reborn. But death is sadness, regardless," she glanced at Aichou, and then at the other students as they gathered.
Regardless of all of their combat training, this was something they would have to deal with. It was even worse on earth. Especially when it was a soul death in a terrible fashion.
Shaking her head, she resumed moving the bodies, one by one.
---------------------
Ran herself was just entering the district, and much to her dismay, she was met with a sea of bodies, and their movers.
Every time the young woman saw death, it made her stomach twist into knows, there was no question about it. She buckled forward, catching herself on the edge of a building. She'd stared at the bodies of the burnt family members.
And she stares at the bodies now. It was like when the sickness had caught her own family. Only this was far, far worse. Closing her eyes, she pushed back the bile in her throat, and forced herself to stand.
Pulling her stark white haori off her shoulders, she moved through past the bodies, and lay her haori out near a younger girl and the small baby cradled in her arms.
With brows furrowed together, she knelt down, and lifted the body of the child free from the girl's arms. Slowly, she wrapped the baby in the cloth of her haori, the lotus on her back flickering, as a haze of colors spread outward from it, filtering across her back, before going silent again.
Her arms were trembling, and the shudder spread to her entire body as she lifted the baby in her arms, such a small, lifeless corpse, and lay it, totally covered, down into the grave.
Tears, strained and few, fell from her face, as something akin to hate flickered across her face.
"Yuru..." a soft stutter at first, before her eyes narrowed, and she turned her head skyward.
"Yurusenai!" the anguished sound ripped through the mostly quiet district.

Kaosu walked back from the hole, and looked up at Ran. He didn't open his mouth to speak. He was afraid he would hurl. He just nodded her presence, before starting in on a heftier fellow. He grabbed the clammy wrist, and then his corresponding foot in an attempt to lift him upwards. He gave up this attempt quickly and just wrapped his hands around his waist.
He grunted, feeling the cold, dead flesh pressing against his cheek. He dropped the body on accident, and the eyes of the deceased bored holes into Kaosu's skull. He was visibly shaken. He hurriedly knelt and closed his eyelids, picking him up once again.
Finally he approached the hole, and slid the body down into it. I...I don't think I can do this. He felt lightheaded, and leaned against another nearby wall. They...they killed them all...Why them?

It didn't take him long to go to this district. He shifts in and looks quietly at the carnage around him. Megumi didn't know much about Kidou..but he does know one thing. He keeps his face impassive as he moves..he's a noble. He has to. He came in his full garments, of course; it's what he had gone to the Headquarters in. the Aoibara crest is there upon his breast..and he reaches to his pockets and slowly begins to sprinkle something over the graves. The rain still falling..he can't help but smile a bit. Shifting, he sprinkles more of the strange things across all the graves..one by one..and he begins to speak..loudly enough to reach the ears of everyone within earshot..
"There will come a time..when we will think back on this moment..and understand that there was nothing we could do. Rather than allow it to crush us with its weight..we should do what the wind does. Life is carried on the wind, like seeds, to find a new place. Those that died here today, they did not die in vain at all. Because of this loss, we now will gain power. And with that power, we will defend this place. Noble and peasant alike..Shinigami and wandering soul. These flowers..they will grow here. And there will be one flower for everyone that died that day. I am going to ask the Captain-Commander..to section off this part of the city. This mile that was destroyed..to remember what happened here. These flowers..they will be my clan's noble gift."
He removes his brooch pin..and sets it down..
"We are not without hearts. It is our solemn duty as nobles and death gods to take care of those who are under our care. Even though it may seem cruel, it would be unseemly to shed many tears over the dead. Let us instead sharpen our swords, and do what it is that we do. Finish what has been started. Let the flowers and the heavens cry..while we do what we must to ensure this does not occur again. My fellows..those above and beneath me..my sword will shine for the people."
And he draws his blade and strikes it to the ground..as the rain flows down off of his noble garb..

Nagi grabbed other two bodies and piled them up. "After this we should have a meeting with the old man on our next move. Sealing up Seireitei is the only decision we have now," he said as he moved around. "We'll also have to rebuild this district afterwards as well".

Hiren listened to the students as they spoke, the anguish, the resolve, and shook her head slightly at Nagi.
"I think the young Aoibara has the right idea. We should quarter off this area. Maybe given Inuzuri a little beauty. But I do agree that we should seal Seireitei. As sad as it is. The inner workings of Soul Society are more important. These souls will be reborn.. but..." her voice trailed off, as it lowered, speaking so quiet so only Nagi could hear.
"If anything compromises the inner academy," she shook her head, "or worse. Everything we've worked for," a slight scowl. "I think this will be worse.. I don't know if it's possible, but I think this war.. will be worse."

Haro appeared on the location with a grin upon his face, ready to help out, thinking there would only be a couple of mouldy old corpses to pick up and put in a couple of holes, nothing too big, he had seen the dead before. But when he got there...he was completely shocked and he slipped on the rain-soaked roof and tumbled across it'sside, cutting himnself a few times on the way. He landed on the ground and he felt his rib crack and he cried out in pain. But as he layed there, he opened his eyes, and he immediately reeled back in horror, as he was staring into empty sockets. He screamed and he rolled away, only to roll atop another body. He got to his feet and began to shake his head.
He felt vomit slowly surging from his stomach and he knew he was going to vomit. But he managed to push it down, the stomach acids burning his throat. He heaved a deep sigh and he looked at a bleeding corpse. "I appologise." He whispered as he took some of the blood and placed it in his mouth. "Stage one.....blood of foe." He sobbed as the symbols moved upon his back. That's right....bring me out to do the job! Since you can't do it yourself you worthless little child! Screamed the voice in his mind. He then felt his face, blood dripping from his nose from the fall he had taken and he placed that in his mouth too. "Stage two...blood of self." He said, a tear dripping from his face, but it would be the last one as both eyes turned completely crimson.
He walked over to the middle of the gloomy scene and he laughed as he looked at all the sad faces. He quirked a brow at the man talking and spreading flower seeds and he laughed again. "Blah blah blah! They're dead for god sakes." He spat. "It's not like they are going to sit up and say: "Hey, thanks for the pretty flowers." Jesus! Just put them in the holes and lets get out of here!" He growled as he walked and picked up an elderly corpse, slung it over one shoulder and did the same to a little child, and then walked over to a hole and he hurled the corpses into it. He was into the bloodlust enough that the real him was not responding to the horror, the bloodlust version, the direspectful, dispicable, disgusting him was out and about, and it was obvious. "Why the long faces on everyone. They will all be reborn right? Besides, we'll get these bastards back." He said with a smirk.

Hiren lifted her head, and eyes cut sharply to the student with the smart mouth, but she was intersected by the movements of yet another student, Ran, as hands clenched at her sides, and she vaulted forward over bodies, one hand moving to pull her zanpaktou, sheath and all, free from her obi, whipping it upwards and outwards at his head. Tears streaked the young woman's face, and her expression was twisted into a mask of hatred.
"How.. dare.. you.." her voice a hiss as she moved her other hand forward, even if her zanpaktou sheath didn't connect, to push him backward, into the wall. On her back, the lotus rippled, colors fanning outward.
"How dare you make a mockery of this!" she screamed, practically in the other student's face.

Megumi simply turns his head..his expression flat..then he shifts himself, interposing his body between the woman and the other, meeting her weapon with his own, where it rests at his side. Then, probably for the first time since anyone at the academy had ever met him, he turns a cold gaze to the speaker. He turns his back then, looking towards Ran..and muses..before responding..
"Haro. I will not bring myself to dignify such an unsightly set of words with words of my own. I have a higher place to think about when it comes to matters of appearance. You would not understand what that means..so I will forgive your words in this particular case. I am feeling forgiving for the sake of all of these who were lost. Respect is shown in ceremony for those who have never experienced such a thing before. It is my family's way..and if you have a problem with that.."
He tilts his head just slightly..looking over his shoulder at his fellow student..his own eyes flashing a pale violet..instead of their usual dual color..
"Then it is most regrettable. Ran, it will not do to attack allies, despite their views. It is unsightly, and detracts from our purpose at this time."

Kaosu stopped his actions when the noble began speaking. It was...it was touching. He could almost understand what he was saying, most of it. And, what it was, it was beautiful. Kaosu stood, for once he was proud with what he was doing, and had a new inner determination; he was going to do whatever it took to go out there and rip some baddies some new ones.
Nobles...they're so elegant. So...wonderful. At least this one. Tsai..." He just chuckled to himself, shaking his head and grabbing an elderly woman. Tsai must be in his own league. Slowly he lowered her into the hole, bowing his head in respect before going into the sea of bodies in order to pick another one. There is no way we have enough time for ALL this.
Murmuring, he only intended to speak to himself. "But, in such a short amount of time what can I do to be strong enough? Not much...not much at all. Anything to be stronger...anything..."

Haro grinned broadly, spreading his arms wide as the woman hurtled towards him and he laughed out loud, insanely. "Oh alright then! Come on little lady. Hit me!! Het me good!" He yelled, laughing all the while. But as the man's weapoon interfered, and stopped Haro from being able to feel the attacks hit him, or the blood, or the bones cracking, any of it...he was upset. "Oh please Megumi. You think you and your happy-go-lucky comments are really going to move me? I would rather have you and little miss emotional here take your zenpaktous and cut me open a few nice memory scars then to hear your pathetic words. Go on and spread your flowers I don't care. Just save me your speaches." He spat. He then shook his head and grinned brightly as he stood there and looked at Ran, giving her a mock wink and then turning his back on her. But before he made it far he turned sharply upon his heel and looked at Megumi. "Oh, and please...don't dare call me Haro. That little wimp isn't here anymore. You can just call me Damian if you'd like. Sounds more to my liking. Haro is pathetic....just liek the rest of you snivelling sentimental fools." He said, chuckling again as he picked up another corpse and tossed it un-emotionally into a grave.

When Megumi stepped between them, Ran's sword hesitated in pushing forward, before she lowered her arm. Watching, and listening to him speak, her eyes closed for a moment, before that mark on her back rippled, and the color spread, and then remained. The young woman stiffened, and the reiatsu that flared up off her was unintentional, as her braid started dancing along behind her.
"Sniveling.. sentimental.. fools?" her voice was soft, almost eerie, as her hand extended, one finger pointing at Haro, or rather, Damian's chest.
"Sou.." the word spoken softly, 'suffer', as the black of her kimono started to bleed, red creeping down along the cloth, her eyes also shifting in color, from a rich brown, to a deep crimson. She dropped to one knee, and pressed her palm against the ground, as spikes of reiatsu shot upwards, from beneath the drenched ground, aiming toward Haro's body, specifically, meant to spear him.
As the spikes actually penetrated upward, she muttered softly.
"Blossom that blooms in the spring, four gods hateful glare, dancing dragon in winter snow, desolation of the earth, dying lotus wrench the heart, Hadou no Yonjuu Kyuu, Tousaku, Aka Renkon!"

Damian grinned broadly as he stood there, looking at the woman, engulfed in her own anger. She was truely mentally weak if she could not control her anger in such a small situation like this...then again, Damian couldn't control his contempt for the people around him, so it also made him weak. He watched the attack coming towards him and he spread his arms wide open with a grin, he made a slight sidestep, but it was a joke, because he was purposefully letting it hit him. Why? He loved the feeling of pain, and he loved to torment Haro, making the boy feel the pain and hurt excruciatingly. When the kidou hit, he was surprised at it's strength and he felt something he had never felt before...wha tan interesting feeling...he loved it.
