The students in my class that haven't done their homework I'm take 2/3 of the total points they would have received if they did their homework. Is that an ok idea?

The points have been deducted from the teachers.

I posted a lesson, sorry for the lateness. But it was done by the fifth when it was asked by, so give the 25 points that you took on the third and put them back into the Ravenclaw house cup, please and thank you.

I PMed you about this situation. I thought the date was the 3rd not the 5th. Obviously I mixed up the dates. The points are being added back though because well you were right. Only thing is there is a way you can always approach people.

Hogwarts Teaching Application

1. About how long have you been a part of the Guild?

I have been a part of this Guild since 11-12-05

2. How many posts have you made?

I have made 444 posts.

3. Have you ever been enrolled in any other classes with this guild and were you diligent with the homework that was assigned to you?

Yes, in the past I have taken Divination taught by Alutian and I did all of the assignments, homework, and quizzes. In the past I have also taken Charms taught by Voluptuous Jon, Ancient Runes taught by Celestial Archer, Defense Against the Dark Arts taught by Voluptuous Jon, and when I started in this guild I was in Cooking and Cleaning 101, however, I can't remember if Reese_Roper or lizzieangel who taught the class. At the end of a term I also did Lessons in Care of Magical Creatures and Muggle Studies for Extra Credit.

4. Class you are applying for:

I am Re-Applying for the position of Astronomy Class Teacher.

5. Professor's name and user name, so RP and otherwise (RP characters are welcomed, if not wanted but not required):

My username is Avatar34. My RP name is Tina or Professor Tina Aurora.

6. Why you want to teach here at Hogwarts:

I want to teach here at Hogwarts, because it is interesting to give an assignment & homework and have them answer but sometimes also put a note under their answer. Saying things such as: I thought it was the goddess ___, because _____. Or giving their opinion on the Story. Also, it is fun and interesting for me such as making a new lesson and learning something new. Anyway I like this information being told to someone else who is also interested in Astronomy or even people who are just taking the class for points.

7. What will class be like under your instruction? Can you give an example of what one of your lessons will look like? And perhaps how you think you will set up the class? (You can just give a brief description if you'd like)

My class will have the same arrangement as last term. The only difference is that this term there will be an Astronomy III, for those who have taken the class twice before.

8. Can you give us any references? Someone who is part of the guild. (The more active and trusted, the better. And they better know they're your reference before you send in this application.)

In the past Celestial Archer, Eowuclya, and Voluptuous Jon have given me references. However, I wanted to post this first so I haven't had a chance to ask about this term.

9. What do you have that any other of the applying teachers don't have:

I have time to try to keep everything up to date.

10. Anything else you would like to add:

No.

Yes, I remember your classes. They were good--I don't remember there being any problems with clarity or updates.

I'd say Accepted!

Hogwarts Teaching Application

1. About how long have you been a part of the Guild?
Since December of 2005

2. How many posts have you made?
As of now... 1431

3. Have you ever been enrolled in any other classes with this guild and were you diligent with the homework that was assigned to you?
In my first year I was very diligent with the classes I enrolled in. Since then its been a little less like that as I haven't had that much time to enroll in classes and when I do... i seem to have the misfortune of enrolling in a class that dies before it even starts *sniffle* However, I made sure to take part in the Arithmancy final Icee put together last term.

4. Class you are applying for:
Herbology

5. Professor's name and user name, so RP and otherwise (RP characters are welcomed, if not wanted but not required):
Same as last time, Professor Juniper Maia Basore (Junimaia)

6. Why you want to teach here at Hogwarts:
I've done it before. The first term I tried it was a bit of a fiasco as I lacked the time for it, but just this past term I've improved as I've managed at least 5 lessons before the end of term and put up a final. And I will be sure to be as active if not more so as a teacher this term.

7. What will class be like under your instruction? Can you give an example of what one of your lessons will look like? And perhaps how you think you will set up the class? (You can just give a brief description if you'd like)
Lecture based and activity based like last time. Depending on the lecture, I may open up some to discussion and Q&A sessions for students to earn participation points. It won't just be a lesson/homework constant. In fact, I'm thinking of making some lessons just for the fun of it that won't require homework at all. My idea is that I want to make sure my class doesn't turn into some boring systematic machine that students will have to habitually take time and again. I want to try to put as much fun into the learning as possible. Last time it turned out more scientific than I would've liked... this time around I'll be sure to add in more hands on activities, and maybe even some extra credit work.

8. Can you give us any references? Someone who is part of the guild. (The more active and trusted, the better. And they better know they're your reference before you send in this application.)
Hmm... Icee referenced me last time. I suppose she can do so again if necessary. animefreak-01 was also a reference but she's MIA now so... uh... ...hey, y'know I'm a head of house! <.< >.> sweatdrop

9. What do you have that any other of the applying teachers don't have:
Some evidence of consistency? I've actually managed to keep my class updated this time... though none of the students managed to pass the first level, so if anybody re-takes my class, they're gonna go through some repetition. But that, in a way, makes my job easier, as I've got all my lessons saved to be repeated. Just to let you know though, its not like I'm gonna regurgitate everything verbatim, I had originally planned to do more than 5 lessons last time. So everything I teach this time around shall be improved upon.

10. Anything else you would like to add:
OOGILY MOOGILY MOO!!! ...what? Was I supposed to say something relevent? I'm sorry. Cactus juice. ....what? We study cacti in herbology.

Hogwarts Teaching Application

1. About how long have you been a part of the Guild?
-If I remember correctly...since February 2007.

2. How many posts have you made?
-2072

3. Have you ever been enrolled in any other classes with this guild and were you diligent with the homework that was assigned to you?
-I always enrolled in a considerable amount of classes and did my work consistantly enough.

4. Class you are applying for:
-I was going to go for CoMC, but I'll stick with Defense Against the Dark Arts.

5. Professor's name and user name, so RP and otherwise (RP characters are welcomed, if not wanted but not required):
-Professor Ann Clairion (Miss Love Tantei)

6. Why you want to teach here at Hogwarts:
-I feel that in able to enjoy the experience in Hogwarts is to make more classes available to the masses. Plus, I love Defense Against the Dark Arts it's simply a fascinating subject to learn and to teach.

7. What will class be like under your instruction? Can you give an example of what one of your lessons will look like? And perhaps how you think you will set up the class? (You can just give a brief description if you'd like)
-Classes under my instruction will be organized with weekly lessons posted regularly with homework. Sometimes there will be trivia pertaining to D.A.D.A along with the lesson that will give the students more motivation to do their homework for extra points. In short, it will run just like last time, but I hope to add some more exciting activities besides homework and lessons.

8. Can you give us any references? Someone who is part of the guild. (The more active and trusted, the better. And they better know they're your reference before you send in this application.)
-If she were to be so kind, Iceewitch again and Celestial Archer (although I'd have to ask her).

9. What do you have that any other of the applying teachers don't have:
-I give 100 percent in everything that I do and I'm committed to whatever I put my mind to. I also made a website with archives of past lessons and grades for each student. mrgreen

10. Anything else you would like to add:
-i love you? 4laugh lol

Are you sucking up? (tapping foot)

I'm kidding, I'm kidding! You may certainly teach DADA, and if you think you can do it, you could probably hold a position as back-up teacher of CoMC. [A back-up teacher just happens to have emergency lessons planned for that class, in case the regular professor has to go on a sudden, unexpected, month-long hiatus from Gaia. It'd be like a substitute system.]

I'd like to do substituting for CoMC if the regular teacher disappears off the face of the world (God forbid it does happen)

Okay, term is starting in just a few days. If you don't have your classrooms ready to set up right away, please, get them done as soon as you can! We're finding ourselves a little pinched for time all of the sudden...(where did that deadline come from, anyhow? I swear it fell right out of the sky...) so now this has become a hurry-hurry-speed-up sort of thing. Sorry, it just happened. sweatdrop

The sooner you begin setting up your classes the better. Classes for term begins on Jan. 7 which means "Sign ups" can begin prior to that. If you want a good bunch of students the first day, then set up your class!

(Please begin a new thread. All old threads (with the same class) will be deleted. If you are re-teaching a class you may copy and paste anything you'd like, but a new thread will still need to be made)
