The blue set his sights on Amoreth again, but not so fondly this time. On the contrary, he seemed disgusted with her for some reason. At least, that's what it appeared to be.

More girls fled, more people yelled, but the dragon did not stop. He was running wildly around now, narrowly avoiding striking Kestra, but hitting three more girls in the process. The trio would live, but do so in pain for the next few weeks.

At some point during his rampage he locked stares with Janga and the anger was evident in his eyes. Another snarl, another stomping of feet and he charged the girl head on.

In a moment of desperation, Uuni grabbed hold of Makereth's pacing form and buried her face into his shoulder.

Even at this distance, she could see the blood and the mess of screams, shouts, and cries that were starting to boil up and bubble over from the candidates. She wasn't sure she wanted to know what had happened. The nausea was already building up and making her sick, and if Makereth hadn't been blocking her view, she thought she would have passed out or thrown up already.

She heard a shuffle of feet and glanced over to see one of the greens blocking her rider from intervening.

Oh ********, just let it be over before she lost her guts, shard it!

The blue stuffed his head under her arm in turn, thinking that this was the appropriate solution to the situation for now.

Stop! Sellae screamed, but it was a mental cry, not a physical one. She moved as quickly as she could, knowing she was going to die, trying to bring the blue's attention to her. "You are making everyone afraid of you. If yours is here, they will be scared. And you know Yours is here. What if you hurt them? Please, don't do this!"

And then she closed her eyes only a hair, waiting to be mauled.

Watching as the dragonet went on rampage Nadia let her arms drop to her side as she watched the dragon run over people left and right. Taking a deep breathe to steady herself she stayed right where she was, nether moving closer or away from the angry dragonet but she continued to mentally try and convince the dragonet to calm as she wiped tears of her face. Repeating the same lines over and over again hoping to have a better chance to get through to the blue.
'Please calm down, please! Just calm down, take a mintue and look! Yours has to be here somewhere, you just need to calm down...'

Amoreth

PostPosted: Sat Oct 10, 2009 7:02 pm

She pursed her lips as he looked upon her again, the disgust quite evident on his little face. Oh, how it pained her to see one of the magnificent creatures turn such a distasteful eye towards her. Her brows dipped down to inadvertently emphasize her sudden annoyance. Since it seemed he was now ignoring her thoughts, she continued to speak the word "calm" in a soothing tone mentally whilst trying to usher the girls away from the blue. The healers would take care of the fallen three, but of that one..

The blue looked none-too pleased with the one known as Janga. With a mental shout of, "NO!," Amoreth watched his powerful hind legs kick off of the ground to send him into a dead-charge.. right for the girl.
All she could do split-second was tug two in his path away, as she couldn't guarantee she'd make it to Janga in time. Another girl flew into his path, to grab his attention.
Poor, panicked creature.. would the blue even think to turn away from her, and if he did so, did he risk injuring even more of the Candidates? Better injured than dead.

A'ras blinked as he watched the landscape of events and wanted to get down there to help do something even if he wasn't a healer! The hatching was becoming a blood bath and things had gone so well before this! He felt Havocath's tail all across his body keeping him from falling over the perilous ledge but he really was finding it hard not to watch. He couldn't believe that someone wasn't in that crowd or even up in the stands that could fit this small dragon. The little guy seemed so strung out that he probably wasn't thinking straight.

Havocath didn't want to add to the large amount of noise already in the Weyr. But he was beginning to agree with A'ras. Someone needed to calm the creature so he'd find his.

Leicha had managed to get himself back on his feet in time to watch the Blue rampage through the girls, injuring and killing in its wake, and as he kept noticing it look at Amoreth he wondered if that was who it wanted all along, though she may have been saying things it didn't want to hear.

Nonetheless, that wasn't his priority, and he made his way over to Panata's side while the adrenaline kept him from feeling anything other than rage at the blue. Why was everyone so concerned with a beast who kept killing?! Let it go between, save them all trouble.

How funny, life was. One minute, she was watching that brave little green stare at Amoreth. Watched her come closer. Stared back when pretty blue eyes met hers and then...and then...well everything. Rainbows behind her eyes, sunshine blossoming in her mind. Love, respect, intelligence. She had a friend. She had more than a friend. Her mind was opened, expanded, made infinently better. All because of one green's choice.

<> Kyllae wasn't sure how to react. She reached out a tentative hand, to rub the beautiful little green's head. Lofrewth, who was pressed fondly against Kyllae's legs, pushed her head into Kyllae's touch, nuzzling her affectionately.

"Are we...are we an it?" Kyllae asked, trembling a little. What was she supposed to do? She had destroyed the last clutch she'd been to, brought about so many tears and so much sadness...was it possible that Lofrewth wanted her anyway?

<> Lofrewth assured, happily, beaming and radiating fondness. Kyllae heard a screech she identified as Haath's, and hoped it was approval. Whatever it was for though, it didn't matter. She had her Lofrewth now, and that was all that mattered.

What with all of Lofrewth's smiling, Kyllae couldn't help but smile back. "We're gonna have lots of fun, you and I," Kyllae assured, as a flood of emotion overtook her. She and Lofrewth...they were damn perfect for each other! They could do anything!

<> Lofrewth declared, suddenly. Kyllae didn't wait for any other incentive, she turned and ran towards the gather of eating dragonets, laughing as she looked over her shoulder, as Lofrewth jumped to attention and raced after her on little green legs.

Lofrewth beat her there, just barely, but really, she had four legs, and Kyllae only had two. Who cared about how won though, that was fun! And that was what mattered. Kyllae hardly had eyes for the hatching as she fed her new partner in all things exciting. "Does that taste good?" she asked, watching Lofrewth down piece after piece of flesh.

<> Lofrewth said, but seemed distracted. It seemed to Kyllae that even as the brilliantly striped green ate, she was watching her other siblings as they enjoyed their own meals. Was she thinking about talking to them, or were her thoughts someplace else entirely?

Kyllae's attention was pulled back to the sands with the appearance of the blue, shrieking in terror. Oh, OH! Kyllae felt her heart jump in sheer fright, even as she cried out in pain and recognition. This was just like last time! Oh please, oh please don't let him between! She took a step back, as if she could escape all of it, all of his crying, all of the blood, get rid of the sight of all of those candidates injured on the sands, of those that looked a little too injured. One or two people looked dead. How could that be?

<> Lofrewth shrieked, not out of fright, Lofrewth was scared of nothing, no, she cried out of concern. Hers was so frightened, something was wrong. That nasty old blue was scaring her. Lofrewth would not tolerate that. She may be small, but she could do anything! She planted herself firmly in front of Hers, glared at the blue, and pulled back her lip in a ferocious snarrl. There was no way she'd let him over here, not that he seemed interested in that. Killing candidates seemed far more interesting at the moment. <> Lofrewth assured, lovingly. Nothing would get her Kyllae. Ever. Of that Lofrewth was sure. And if that blue didn't stop...why, she would just have to go out there and make him! He needed to learn so manners!

Trista barely had time to realize what was happening before the blue was barreling at the other candidate who happened to be rather close. She shoved the girl hoping to propel her out of the dragon's reach and danced backwards as quickly as she could hot sand not withstanding.

Arolon heard the commotion among the girls. He tried to sit up, to help them by becoming a moving target but his dizzy spell had him right back down. He couldn't stand yet. Could only listen as the dragon attacked out of spite now, instead of fear. He was killing people just to find his, it seemed down right selfish when they were only trying to help. He sighed, trying not to jar the injured arm. Sand clotted the wound, stopping some of the bleeding. He just wanted to leave now. He wasn't chosen, why stay and watch all the carnage when you couldn't help in your own injured condition? He managed to sit up at last, but it made his vision blurry. When it cleared he wished it hadn't. Bodies, injuries, blood everywhere...he finally vomited. With his stomach emptied and no more dizziness to stop him he finally stood.

Oh scorch it straight to the Void.

Janga's eyes narrowed to slits when the dragon turned his gaze on her. So it was going to be like that eh? Bring it. She wasn't about to bail now, not when she'd stood her ground the whole hatching and remained unscathed. Not that she could guarantee a safe future, but if it was one thing that Janga never did it was back down from a direct challenge. Either she or the blue was going down, and if it was her then she was going to at least make sure the blue felt it for days after. Let his bonded comfort him then. Nobody messed with Janga and got away with it.

She felt a shove from her side, and turned to glower at the candidate. "I got it. Just siddown over there until I'm done with him." The bully gave Trista and answering shove, and turned to face her opponent. Bracing herself, she reached out to grab him by his headknobs. It would be hard to throw a dragonet, but she was banking on the fact that if she caught him off balance, she could use the momentum against him. If not, well, it would probably lessen the impact a little. Keep his claws out of her face. "Fardling wherry!" Janga shouted, fixing him with her best glare.

And if he even though about trying anything funny, he'd really get a punch on the nose.

Lifting an eyebrow Trista recovered herself and backed away with a mock bow for Janga. She wasn't sure Janga was making the wisest move but she had to respect that kind of tenacity. Obviously Janga was a scraper. Maybe that was exactly what the little blue needed to face right now.

The last of the young dragons had no time to listen to all the people yelling at him now. Not Sellae, not Amoreth. No one. Anyone who got in his way was run over, and no matter how many people that was he kept going.

He was, obviously, ready to attack Trista, but by time he'd reached them Janga had pushed her away and was ready for a brawl. The dragon managed to claw her leg some, but none the less was grabbed by the horns. Not to be bested, he headbutt the candidate in the stomach. And what did he get in exchange? A punch on the nose! She'd hit him!

Dorath roared in response.

The Weyrleader stared, mouth wide open.

Jilis gasped and brought both hands up to her face. "No way!"

Everyone had a very vivid reaction, including him.

The blue hushed, went silent eventually, and to him it seemed so did the world around them. He had stepped back after the strike and stared at Janga.

After a pause, he snarled for the countless time, but it wasn't at her. No, he was facing the rest of the people, growling at every single girl he considered too close. And when he said the "M" word, it was not in the fond way one would expect, but rather a tone of possession.

BACK AWAY! She is MINE!

That said, he took his place by Janga's side, eyes fading from a mess of other colors into a content green.

He had found his equal. Finally.

Finally, the blue calmed and impressed with Janga and though Nadia was impressed with how Janga fought back with the dragonet she still thought it was kind of a stupid thing to do.
Pushing back the dissapointment for not impressing she looked around her and was just glad that she made it out unharmed, turning she started to help some of the more injured girls off the sands towards the healers.

Okay the stupid thing impressed. Woo hoo, congrats. Even then it didn't shut up. He walked out of there in search of a healer with his pride still intact. He didn't understand why almost the whole clutch favored girls but it was done now. He was a pedigree weyrbred, he would impress someday, with another clutch. He would join after-hatching parties later once his arm was bandaged up. He did have to respect the girl, she fought, she won!
