Annie turned to see Ako looking at the ice path Garret had made and she realized the same thing he did: it was the equivalent of Hansel and Gretel's bread path- it lead them to where they were, but also to where Hansel and Gretel were. Annie quickly rattled off directions, "It's three blocks west, take a left for a block, then a right and continue another five blocks and it should be on the left across the street: it has a sign that says something about "so-and-so and Co. brick building; it is on 17th street... I'm going to try and erase some of this path and I don't know how much it'll take out of me to do it, so I figure if any of us get separated it would be good that everyone knew the way."

Tansy nodded. "Guys, go on ahead and keep Gidget safe. I'll stay here and be Annie eyes. If she gets to weak, I can get to back to the warehouse safely." She nodded somewhat at them as she smiled, trying to comfort her friends. They still weren't out of danger just yet, and it looked like they may never be.

Ako would feel bad for leaving the girls, but he had to get Gidget to safety. He knew how strong Annie and Tansy were, he knew they should be able to handle themselves. Before he could think too much he started running, repeating Annie's directions in his mind.

Watching him take off, Tansy turned to Annie. "Are you ready for this?" She asked softly as she looked around.

Nodding, Annie closed her eyes and sat down on her knees, "Now or never, right?" She placed her hand onto the ice path and began to concentrate. It was vital to find balance, she had to make sure she had enough energy to change whatever acid she transformed from the ice she could transform back to water.
Slowly thin veins of the ice began to heat up, chunks of ice shattering into hundreds of pieces. Sweat beaded on her forehead as she worked. Her brown eyes fluttered open and she bit her lip as she concentrated. Finally after leaving only a scattering of pea sized ice chunks and puddles of water.
Forcing a smile, Annie tried to push herself up: instead, she slumped back onto the street, and began a coughing fit, raising a hand to her mouth. Removing her hand from her mouth she stared horrified, her hand was dripping blood, but not a crimson color you would expect, blood so dark it was black.

Tansy watched her without sound, letting Annie do what she did. It wasn't until she fell back to the ground did she rush over to her. "Are you okay?" She asked softly as she knelt down to Annie and looked up at her. She frowned somewhat as she looked Annie over quickly, her eyes paused on the blood in her hand. She looked back up to her face, her eyes narrowed somewhat in confusion.

"I... I think I'm okay," she said taking a deep breath, shaking as she looked at the blood in her hand. "I guess I found the limit to my abilities, though..." Trying to remain calm, she clenched her bloody fist and raised her clean hand to her forehead, the world seemed to be spinning around her. "I don't think I can be of much help for a while. I'm sorry."

Tansy smiled at her. "Don't worry, we're going to have a nice long rest." She stood. "Can you walk by yourself?" She bit into her bottom lip as she stood by, ready to help if she was needed.

Annie shook her head in response to Tansy's question. She felt so useless and it frustrated her and the black blood bothered her. Was it true that her blood was poisonous now, like in Charles Ray's vision. Shaking her head she tried to focus; Charles was gone... he had to be.
Smiling, she glanced up at Tansy, "I don't think walking in my current state is advisable, as frustrating as it may be."

Tansy nodded. "Alright." She smiled as she turned and let out her wings. "Come on, climb on." She looked back at her. "If you lay yourself between them, I should be able to fly with you on my back." She shrugged somewhat. "The way we don't leave any trace."

"We'll make a scene though," pointed out Annie, "Flying girls tend to stand out. Then again it is the quickest way, and like you said, no trace..."
Sighing, Annie climbed onto Tansy's back, hugging her shoulders like she did as a kid on her father's back. It was odd though, considering that the girl was smaller than Annie was slightly. Luckily for them, though, Tansy seemed to get an increase in strength along with her wings and other abilities.

Tansy nodded. "Don't worry, I doubt to many people will see us. Anyways, the government the will write it off and cover it up." She grunted softly as she pushed off the ground and shot them both into the air. She leveled herself out and looked over her shoulder somewhat. "You doing okay up there?" She with a soft laugh.

Annie nodded, clenching her fists, trying to keep her focus as she spoke, "Yeah, I'm doin' just peachy..." She was doing anything but 'peachy' but Annie sure didn't want to admit that and worry Tansy even further: Tansy had seen the black blood, too.

Tansy frowned somewhat as she landed both of them on the roof of the werehouse. She let Annie get off before she competently landed herself. "Are you sure you are okay? Do you want to talk about it, or to have me look you over." She titled her head to the side. "You know, no matter what you're blood looks like."

Ako had arrived at the building a few minutes before the girls. He had found a suitable place to set Gidget, and placed his jacket over her as a blanket, and put the sleeves under her head to keep it off of the hard floor. It almost looked like his jacket was giving her a hug. He sat near her with his back against a wall and head resting on his crossed arms, which in turn were resting on his knees. He was hoping to get a little rest while he could.
