Kal went back to the inn and sat at the bar. The seal would be with the Orc, so he'd have to wait for the Orc to return. He also hadn't eaten or drank anything, so he needed some food and drink. He ordered some venison and a .... medium soda(?).
((What do they have that's not alcholic? Do they have soda?))

Tjaden found himself almost mesmerized by the fanciful and ornate architechture as he passed through the rows of the dead. He found a nice patch of earth untouched by the grave-digger's spade and knelt. Drawing his sword, he palced it tip down in the earth and rested his head, bowed in prayer, on the hilt of the weapon. Positioned there, he reverently summoned to mind the names of the ancestors he was taught to keep close to his spirit and focused himself in meditation.

The bartender looked with an absolute glance of confusion.
"The bloody hell is a soda? Here, have some damn cidar."
Sliding the apple beverage to the halfling, he shook his head and walked away.

Kal chuckled at the man's brute question. It was quite comical. He sipped the cider and ate away at his venison slowly. He was in no rush.

The large man turned to regard the uniquely dressed individual. A flash of recognition was seen in his eyes when he heard the comment of being a superior fighter.
"Oh? You seem to believe I know the arts of mind and body? I tell you what, return with me to my home temporarily. If you truly seek my expertise in such a field, I'd like to test your resolve."
The large man ran a quick hand through his somewhat lengthy goatee and turned to continue his walk home, ushering Erron to follow.

Selce watched her step as she walked behind Alanna. As the archmage told her to "Show me your worth, mageling." She stepped out in front of her." Anything you wish for me to defeat, or the first thing that attacks fine?" She asked dismissevly as she then lead them outward. She could feel small pulses of energy from the rift around them but otherwise it was an empty wasteland. Nonetheless Selce continued to walk.

Selce didn't have to walk for long. From behind rocky outcropping, a crackling was heard. When out from behind the stones came... this.

The creature almost appeared lovable at first glance, before its flames and soot ridden nostrils flared as it immediately lurched for the young wizard.
1-4 Selce is able to bash away the little thing with her staff, though the weapon is consumed in the flames.
5-9 Selce avoids the lunging magma fiend
10 Selce's shield barrier pulses with an unusual might as it repels the little creature
Results: The pint-sized demon slides harmlessly to the side as Selce manages to maneuver herself away from the little beast.

It was some time before Tjaden pulled the sword from the ground, wiped it clean and sheathed it. He made his way back slowly, reluctantly, wishing to maintain the solitude of the ancestors within his heart for a moment longer. Despite his lingering pace, Tjaden was, all too soon, back on the streets of the city.
With a steady, calm gait, Tjaden made his way between districts, from the grave district towards the Market district. He wasn't looking for anything in particular, he simply wanted to gauge the reaction to his presence. For all the talk they had made about the subject, Tjaden wanted to see if the fears of retribution were well-founded, or if his optimistic trust in the triumph of justice would prevail. In order to keep up the facade, Tjaden stopped at a few store windows, his eye out for anything of exceptional craftsmanship or perhaps, a trinket or two to wear.

Erron followed behind, keeping with the larger mans longer strides while taking in the smell of the sea on such a good day, mental preparation for whatever test lays at hand.

Tjaden made a mental note of where he saw the shield and the cloak. Erron had already parted with some money on his behalf and he did not want to spend more without the party's consensus. Besides, he wasn't the one carrying the money. However, he was certain that Selce would appreciate the cloak, considering he never saw her, or any mage for that matter, in anything heavier than those robes. Tjaden nodded and smiled to the friendly merchant's joke, thanked him, and moved on.
Tjaden's spirits were slowly climbing with every step. It seemed that there was no hostile reaction from the populace, probably thanks to the shiny seal that was affixed to his shoulder. Perhaps he had underestimated the power that Beremond had in the city; a reputation probably garnered by the man's tendency to help all those who came to him. As Tjaden's respect grew for the man, his earlier balk at human religion began to waiver. Any faith that drew such adherents to the tenets of justice, compassion and honour deserved at least a little acknowledgement on Tjaden's part, if only to strengthen the ties between two different followers of the same noble path. He had said to return when Tjaden was a little more experienced...he must have sensed the hesitation in Tjaden's own philosophy and the doubt that had began to clutter his faith.
Despite his reviere, Tjadn was still very much paying attention to his surroundings. After all, justice could never afford to rest.

Selce kept walking away from the beast as it jumped by, she hoped the extra distance would allow her time to incant her spell. As she got far enough , by her reckoning, away to be safe to chant she turned leveled a hand at the demon and cast LIGHTNING BOLT. She hoped it would hurt the creature as she had very few spells to actually harm anything with a fiery desposition.
(I just noticed a nearly fatal flaw in the choice of spells I picked.)

Selce attempts to fry the magma bunny!
1 The mini-demon interrupts her spellcast, damaging her moderately
2-7 The beast is struck by lightning, stunning it temporarily and dealing moderate damage
7-9 The little fiend is stunned and takes heavy damage.
10 The magma bunny is shorted out completely
Results: The magma bunny squeals as it is struck by lightning. It shudders for a moment and remains relatively still, though it is certainly not dead.
