Kyuubi decided to not think about Satori unless he was causing trouble. He walked to his room to do his homework and catch up on the classes he had to miss. He passed Jet's room hearing someone talk to him. "Hey" he greeted as he walked past.

Nikky shrugged, her day had been alright. "Could be worse..." she stated, eyes following the door her friend had exited earlier. Her thoughts wandered for a moment, and she found she had to ask Joseph another question. "Have you ever wondered what our lives would be like if we didn't have powers at all and never had them to begin with?" She asked, imagining how her life would be. "Would we be better off, or would we feel as if something wasn't right with us?" She asked. Powers had messed up a lot of people's lives, and sometimes they were absolutely frustrating, but it was a part of who they were.

Cory
Cory thought over that comment. “Do you know the grandson’s name? That’d be a great friend you could make.” Cory offered. He figured it’d be nice to spare some quick advise. “I got sent here because my ex went here. And her parents told her parents about this school, after I got kicked out of my last one.” Cory said softly. He wanted to injure her parents when they told his mom about this school. But then he thought he might get Mitsukai back. Now he was back to wanting to injure them.

Joseph
Joe looked at Nikky. “That was a totally random question” He said and chuckled. He thought over his past. “I think my life would be better.” Joe said remembering his little sister. “I wouldn’t have drowned my baby sister. I wouldn’t of put my mom in debt” Joe said and frowned why would she ask this? “Some people would have it better. It just depends on if your past was worse or better before you discovered your powers.” Joe ended. He thought of some of his friends. L and Adam, it probably would have been worse. Mitsukai, a lot better. She and Cory would have never broken up and she’d be able to live with her best friends.

Thorne Ramiro

I'm strong on the surface,
Not all the way through.
I've never been perfect,
But neither have you…

[[sorry, was kidnapped by parents for spontaneous vacation, and there wasn’t internet access where we were. Hope the extra long post makes up for it!]]

Thorne watched Mitsukai turn towards where he was reclining against the bleacher seats. Her concession to her own indecisive mind gave him unsettled and soothing feelings. On one hand it was nice to know that he wasn’t the only messed up person at the school. In fact, he was almost certain that almost everyone going to this school had to be at least slightly deranged. But on the other, it was not pleasant to know that the person who knew his whole life, who had such power over him had no idea what it was that she wanted. To say the least, his feelings were oxymoronic.

He had been curious about what Mitsukai had seen in Cory. He had wanted to know how a girl like her could ever love a wimp of a guy like him, but the more she continued the more he wanted her to stop. As she became lost in the past and old memories, Thorne became gradually more pensive with every word that traveled from her lips. He had changed his mind. He didn’t want to understand what Mitsuakai saw in Cory, or what attracted her to him. He didn’t want to see the good aspects of him, and learn that Cory wasn’t the bad guy. He was being a hypocrite, but he didn’t really care. He didn’t want to give, or concede that he had been wrong. He wanted to be able to beat the crap out of Cory with no inhibitions, but as Mitsukai wound down her monologue the less sure Thorne was of any impression he had of Cory.

Taking a deep breath, Thorne exhaled feeling moody. But then again, when wasn’t he moody? He hadn’t been this bad when he dated Lorrie, but then again everything had been better when he dated Lorrie. Her friendly disposition and uncanny knack for adapting to his moods balanced out his dark cloud of gloom and doom. So, Mitsukai was right. He did want to get back together with Lorrie, but that didn’t mean he was going to or that it was something he needed. Want and need were and always would be two different things, and their differences were only more prominent in the light of his situation. He wanted an ice cream sundae, but he needed fruits and vegetables. He wanted to get back together with Lorrie, but he needed to move on away from his past. So, here he was, stuck in this limbo where he could go neither forward nor backward. But before he could do anything, he had to figure out what he wanted to do with his life.

At a loss of what to say, Thorne gave her a twisted smile. “Well then, I guess you must still be looking for the one,” he said lightly a strange gleam in his eyes. Usually at this moment, he would say something charming like ‘But, I’ve already met mine’ or ‘Maybe yours is sitting right next to you’ but he knew that would be overstepping boundaries. His eyes caught the sight of another figure talking to Cory. “Maybe you’re looking in all the wrong places…” He said the same self-mocking smile plastered on his face. “… that includes me.” Thorne mumbled under his breath.

“Hey!” He called to the two guys, waving them over. There was no reason to so blatantly ignore each other, well…maybe except for the fact that Cory was there. “Angel, if you’re gonna find your guy, you have to expose yourself to as many people as possible, and talking to me is considered slacking so get to work.” He said gesturing to the new kid. He was enjoying this, though the feeling had a bitter and sarcastic underside to it like how you loved the fact that you weren’t studying even though you knew you would pay later.

When my time comes,
Forget the wrong that I've done.
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed.

Lily watched Lorrie and was slightly confused. She then stood up and threw her things away in a different trash can. She waved to Alex as she left, heading up to the library. That was one of her favorite placing to go. She could also secretly spy on Alex if she wanted to, but she was sure that his life would be kind of boring. She searched the library for an interesting book. She grabbed the book and sat down in the corner, near the window.

Alex watched Lorrie and was about to answer her before she left. He then saw Lily seemed to be leaving and he sighed, waving to her. He hated to be alone with new people, especially boys. Other boys had always been mean to him. He shook slightly and closed his eyes at the thought. He then opened his eyes again as he waited for Lorrie to return. He had never tasted acid, but had always guessed that it didn't taste good.

Mitsukai.

Mitsukai stared at Thorne in disbelief. He sounded slightly aggravated. She forced herself to ignore his comment about himself. She didn’t think that, but as she stated earlier, she just met him. ‘I’m not looking in the wrong places, you’re just being stubborn.’ She thought to herself. “But, but, but, I don’t want Cory over here.” She mumbled. Well more like whined. She knew plenty of guys, she wasn’t slacking. She would say something cute like ‘Maybe you’re the one. I don’t need them.’ Or well, something cuter than that. But he was slightly confused. He didn’t know who he wanted.

“Then you also need to find you’re someone. You’re slacking just as well.” Mitsukai said and glared at the figured that were moving toward the bleachers. ‘Don’t do it Cory. Go the ******** away!’ She was silently pleading. Come on Cory knew her so well, why was he still approaching. Mitsukai thought of signs to make Cory know he wasn’t welcome. In the flash of the moment she grabbed Thorne’s hand. In lacing their fingers the way she wanted it to be, the way she wanted Cory to see. Oh and didn’t Mitsukai speak against this second period. ‘Did you ever think I don’t want Cory here?’ Mitsukai thought. She forced all the thought away that would lead him on. If he decided for her, she’d tell him her opinion in this matter. But she didn’t want to hurt him.

Mitsukai looked at Cory as he walked this way. Mitsukai shouldn’t have told Thorne about Cory, or he wouldn’t have turned moody. Why didn’t she guess this before she started telling him? Powers are pointless if you don’t get it. Mitsukai was supposed to be able to read people well. Finally she noticed Cory hesitate. He wasn’t going to walk over there? Oh never mind, he still was. “Hey.” Cory said when he got over there. ‘Why, why, why!” Mitsukai thought to herself.

Cory
Cory heard Thorne call them over. “Want to meet the best girl in the world? Let’s go!” Cory said and got up, assuming the other guy was following. He was almost over to them, when Mitsukai grabbed Thorne’s hand? Cory frowned. He almost stopped walking over there all together, but he didn’t want Mitsukai to know he still wanted her. So Cory continued walking over there.

“Hey.” He said when he got there and took a seat next to Mitsukai. He figured Conor would sit next to him. “That’s Conor.” He introduced the new kid to the group. “And Conor, that’s Thorne and that’s Mitsukai.” He said pointing to the two. "Nice to meet you Conor." Mitsukai said forcing herself to smile.

(( i hate Cory, i really do. Is it bad to hate one of your characters? ]]

Nikky bit her lip. She didn't mean to bring up the bad things that happened in Joe's past. "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to bring all that stuff up...." She said, looking down at her hands. She couldn't really see if her life would be bad without them, but she knew Daina felt the same, not knowing what would be better, for she had saved her mom. There were some people that were on the borderline. "You didn't have to answer..." She said, looking back up at him, feeling guilty.

Joseph
Joe smiled at Nikky. “It’s completely okay. Some people didn’t have any issues when they discovered their powers. Some people did.” Joe said softly. His past was the past. It was an accident his sister was dead. He already had months of therapy over that issue. His mother never tried to reach him, so obviously she was doing a lot better without him. And if he never had his powers, he would have never met Mitsukai, who was his best friend. “I having powers have had its pluses. I’d never have met y’all if I didn’t have powers.” Joe said and smiled.

Nikky gave Joe a small smile. "Yes, that is definately true. "I'm glad I met you." She said, remembering the past few years since they had all joined Genius Academy. "We can always find a way to be happy again, after all the bad things we have been through, right?" she asked, turning to face him. Nikky was feeling a bit better, but it still didn't change the fact that she brought up his past. She remembered that her parents had freaked when she found her powers, forcing her to speak instead of using them, til eventually she ended up forgetting all about them. Nikky ended up finding them again when she was reading one of her favorite books in her room at home. She had very good imagery skills, and one of the main characters appeared in her room, giving her a shock. Nikky gave a small laugh at the memory.

Joseph
Joe smiled at Nikky. “My life already is better, I love it here.” Cory said and smiled. He didn’t use his power quite as often as some people, but now that he could mostly control it, things were better for him now. “Plus, making it rain when ever and how ever I wanted rocks!” Joe said and smiled, trying to make Nikky feel better. “Soo, what’s yawls’ next class? And how was school so far?” Joe asked. It seemed like a great conversation starter.

Thorne Ramiro

You think I’m your hero.
But what if I’m not?
What If I’m really your villain?

[yes miss! *salutes Elaine….Oh! and guess what? I just came up with a new twist to Thorne’s dark past, but you won’t figure it out until way…way….way…later muahahahaha!]

Thorne grinned as Mitsukai whined. It was funny the way her brow furrowed and the way her lower lip stuck out just a smidge so you could tell she was pouting; it was cute and made him smile. It was also especially gratifying to see that she obviously didn’t want Cory to invade their little powwow. Something that made him immensely happy, and also slightly confused. Mentally, he shrugged; he would figure it out later. As to her comment, Thorne raised his eyebrows and replied self-mockingly, “Slacking works for me.”

When Mitsukai grabbed his hand, he suppressed the initial reaction of jerking it away. Her thoughts played through his head, and he looked over to where Cory was hesitating. So, that was the game she played. Not because she wanted to hold his hand or anything of the sort. It was because she wanted Cory to stay away. Thorne looked at her coolly as he sent a direct thought over to her, ‘We don’t always get what we want, babe.’ Untangling his hand from hers, Thorne sat up from where he had once lounged. In a whisper while Cory was still hesitating, Thorne muttered to her, “Angel, you already know my whole life, most of my thoughts, and just about everything else. Don’t be greedy. There are some things about me you shouldn’t know.” To soften the slight, Thorne wrapped his arm around her waist loosely so she could shrug it off if she wanted. This way, Thorne figured, they were still connected just not mentally. He was feeling that he should probably stay away from being mentally connected to her for awhile especially since thinking about his past was bringing back inklings of memories that he had forgotten. He would have to wait until they disappeared once again into his murky depths of consciousness before he could safely hold her hand again.

Thorne stiffened slightly when Cory took the seat next to Mitsukai. It was understandable of course, but still it put him slightly on edge. He kept his expression friendly, however, even if it did still contain his sarcastic smile. “So, you’re Connor. Your new here aren’t you?” He asked as he gave him a once over. You could always tell when someone was new. They just had this slight uncomfortable feeling about them as they tried to adjust to the new environment. “What’s your power? I’ve seen some pretty freaky ones like this one here,” he said inclining his head toward Mitsukai, “But, I haven’t seen one that has trumped mine. See…” He explained. “…she absorbs your soul, while I destroy it.” Here he gave him a twisted smile. He enjoyed watching the kid’s reaction and let him flounder for a minute. But, he finally let out a short laugh, “Just joking…of course.” He conceded though the description was in fact pretty accurate. Thorne sometimes had a pretty twisted sense of humor, but that probably came with the territory.

What would you do?
Oh, what would you do?

Conor followed Cory obediently, almost as if he was a dog. Conor couldn't help but feel like he had to follow this kid around just to meet people, but hey there is a girl involved so he figured that she could possibly introduce him to other girls. Conor laughed at himself in pity, what was he thinking he can't get a girl. Conor smiled as he was introduced to the new couple sitting on the bleachers. "Um, yes I am new, nice to meet you." He sighed and then moved his hand over his bag, lifting it off the ground without laying a single finger on it. "I'm a telepathic." Conor replied.

Conor stopped short at the boy's comment on his powers, "Wait, you can do what?" Conor was amazed by the boy's sense of humor, he found the joke rather funny as well, if it in deed was joke. Conor thought about his powers, comparing it to cory's, his was much more unique than Conor's. Conor was disappointed in the fact that he thought of his own power as pathetic, especially in the state he was in now, he could barely lift forty pounds.

Mitsukai.

Mitsukai looked at Thorne and frowned. “Then why can’t I slack?” She whined. When he wrapped his arm around her waist, she couldn’t help but smile. She scooted closer to him and leaned against him softly. They fitted together perfectly. Maybe he was right about the thoughts thing. She had to keep away her thoughts that would lead him on and she didn’t like his thoughts really. “I agree. Thought free for a little while.” Mitsukai smiled and pulled her gloves out of her bag and slipped them on.

Mitsukai looked at Cory and the new kid. “He cant really destroy you’re soul.” Mitsukai said and looked at Thorne. “Right?” She double checked. “He does this.” Mitsukai said and squeezed her eyes shut and made her finger explode slightly and recover. She waited until her nausea was gone before she spoke again. “And my power is I can invade your mind when I touch you with my glove off. I can steal your power, memories, thoughts, and physical strengths. Only reason I have his power currently.” Mitsukai smiled at the new kid. Hopefully he wasn’t too grossed out by her display. The first time she exploded she screamed and almost puked.

Mitsukai observed the new kid. He was slightly handsome, but no where near Thorne. “Soo, what’s yawls’ next class?” Mitsukai asked everyone. She was ready to end the day, but she had her favorite class next, art. She wondered if she had a class with Cory or the new kid, that’d be cool.

((I want to end lunch. Rach, want to take the honors?]]
