He smiled as his friend took off hers and attempted to teach her to dance. Rodell was patient though so it should be fine. His attention focused down to her though with a smile. "For what? I take you to parties all the time. You'd think I'd try harder to be a little more romantic."
"Ah, I should have guessed. Forgive my tongue for losing it's silver." Chuckling and resting a hand on the small of her back to guide her away from the immediate crowd some. "Well, no actually. There's still plenty of people that want me to be official. But I'd rather enjoy your company and not be official, and tend to the rest later."

"For being patient and willing to indulge me about Are. She's such a sweetheart but her parents have kept her so locked up out of fear and such." Shaking her head and resting her head against his shoulder. "Besides, you're romantic enough when a bunch of people aren't around and parties are just one more place to act official."
"A momentary loss, I'm sure." Her skin tingled at the touch and she turned to gaze at him for a moment then allowed him to lead her off to the side not completely out of prying eyes but close. "I'm more important than your official duties? My, I don't know if I should be honored or horrified. The Master is breaking his duties."

"Oh, that's no problem. She's welcome to come to anything social with us." Adjusting his hold on her some to keep her close to him even as they danced. "I don't like to publicize my romantic ways. After all, if I start to set an example then the things I do are no longer special."
"Try another 'h' word. Maybe happy or something along thsoe lines. Takes away both the formality and the fear." Giving her a smile though. "If I didn't break the rules sometimes I would be no fun either. I have to at least be a little fun." Offering her his hand then. "Come on, it has to at least be fetching or something to you?"

"After this, she might choose not to tag along. Although she looks like she's having a good time." Glancing over and giving her a grin as she was dancing with Rodell. "There are some things our people just shouldn't be allowed to see. I'd rather you make me and only me happy than have every woman in your kingdom swooning over a gesture you made." Nuzzling his neck and letting the music soothe her and lull into her a dream world. "Did your conversation with my father go well?"
She laughed, "Well, if I'm completely honest, you look beautiful. But I know sometimes men don't want to hear that phrased that way. You're outshining me." She took his hand and let him lead her out onto the floor as the beat picked up and a lively tune began to play. "I am honored and very happy. How's that?"

A look over to the two as well, Rodell doing his best to compensate for the girls foul steps and reassuring her that all was well. Turning his attenion back to her he chuckled. "I like that idea of the way things should be as well." Nodding, "I have a very good conversation with your father. It's nice to know that you and I may not have to go through what he and your mother did. If everything goes well."
"I'll take beautiful, if that's what yout tongue sees fit to use, then that's what it shall be." Shaking his head as he started to lead her into dance movements. "Outshining you? No, I don't think so. Tonight is your night where you are the one who is shining like the bright Flame that you are." Giving her a lopsided grin then, "Still a hint of formal in there. I'm not more special than any other elf."

So he had been discussing what Lark thought he had. "I told my father this morning that I won't allow a child of ours to go through what my sister did. I refuse to live separate from you and I refuse to allow political presence to destroy my child. It just isn't worth it. I'd much rather give up the throne than allow that kind of damage."
"Now you're just trying to flatter me, Ty, but it is very sweet of you to do so. Age just isn't as kind to women as it is to men." Giving him a joyful smile as she twirled about in the complicated motions of the dance. "Beg pardon, it comes from years of experience and habit. You were always my boss and sometimes I have a hard time pulling myself out of that mindset and knowing what's appropriate and what's not."

"Of course. Mistakes were already made and it's best we all learn from them rather than repeat them and make it all the worse for the furture." Nuzzling her lightly. "You don't need to worry about that. Even if things don't work out in our favor, I'll make them work."
"Age isn't kind to women? Now now, I think you women think too hard on that notion. Women are like fine wine. They only get better with age. Or so that's my opinion. Bitter, sour, with some bite that will turn you completely away from them, only to turn into something sweet to all the senses, but still with some bite to keep you on your toes." Chuckling lightly and whirling her around and out before pulling her back in, "Appropriate. I'd hate to think that even you can't get past what I do."

"I agree totally," she sighed softly and once again spun around on his arm, letting him hold her so she was safe and secure once more. "I'm holding you to that, Nyc. But of course I'll be there to help you inflict change any way that I can." Quieting for a moment. "Have you thought about children?"
"The silver has wandered back to your tongue, I see. So which one am I? Some would probably say the bitter bite and others might say the sweetness. What do you think?" Pressing her body closer to his, she was intimately aware of the fit of the dress and the feel of his warm palms through it. "I can...I just need to know where we stand, Ty..."

And it was time for honesty. "Not really. I mean I know that I'll have children eventually, but I don't expect that to happen anytime soon. Not just having them out of obligation either. I'd like to know that I took good care of someone as I was taken care of."
"It comes and goes like a good wind." Giving her a grin, "I would say you're a perfect balance of such things. That takes talent." Watching her as she seemed to be questioning what had probably been on minds for a while. "Wherever we would like." Brushing his lips over hers lightly as he spun her. The action would go unnoticed by most, which was the intention...if it was only between them to know, it was that easy to forget if that was the way it should be.

"Oh, good. I was worried that you might have gotten the idea that I wanted them immediately or something. Which I really don't. Frankly, the thought of being pregnant and then having a baby scares me more than I could ever begin to admit. I'd much rather just be married to you and stay a young couple for as long as possible."
"And yet it seems to be in perfect residence tonight." Giving him another smile and then blinking in sudden surprise at the feel of his warm lips on her own. Nothing but a slight, tender brush. Just enough to allow her to take it any way that she chose to. He was stating his position and waiting for her own in response. She loosened the wrap that had remained tied about her shoulders, dropping it off on a nearby chair and fitting her body closer to his. Nothing obvious, only he would notice the change in dancing style but it was her answer as sweet and clear as his kiss had been.

"It should scare you, because it scares me I know that much. I wouldn't know the first thing to do when it comes to all of that." Resting his forehead against hers for the moment. "Think of all the fun we'll have." Nah, he'd let her ponder over it for a little while longer. Everytime she mentioned the word, he made her wait longer.
He was quite ready to spend his life alone, as he had been doing so for a while now. However, Lhia had her own points about their people which was hard to look past. No matter where they had originally come from, they were still elves who had the same basic needs. At her own silent response he merely gave her a smile as they continued to dance to the song with others around them, celebrating young elves getting just a bit wiser. After all, someone was going to grab him again for work sooner or later as he had shirked it previously.

"As long as we're agreed on that." She was completely oblivious to the hole she was digging for herself and so agreed with him wholeheartedly and laughed. "Nothing's stopping us from having fun now. We've got all night to dance and laugh and flirt with each other and anything else we want to do." Wiggling her eyebrows suggestively as he often did to her and giggling.
Lhia wasn't totally sure when she'd ever been happier. Ty had been in her life for as long as she could remember, even as a young Brigade rookie. She remembered him standing above her, her knees knocking beneath her uniform as she bit her trembling bottom lip and tried not to cry. She'd been scared to death about having the crest put on her hands. Ty had been the administrator of her pain that time but also the one who offered soothing words of comfort and had pretended not to notice the tears glistening on her cheeks.
As she'd risen through Brigade ranks, she'd often felt his eyes on her and had once heard him instructing one of her many teachers to push her harder and make things more challenging. He'd seen something in her, something that even now she wasn't sure she fully understood. But it was when her mother had died that she'd begun to deeply care about him. At the very least it was when she got to know him as a friend. For now, she was content to be held in the same strong arms that had cradled her in her grief and whirl her about the floor, mindful that he'd probably be stolen away sooner rather than later.

He laughed, "Did you just do the eyebrow thing at me? That's supposed to be my thing. I do it, you blush and giggle then we sneak off together somewhere and...praise some Gods, so to speak." A little nod of his head to another direction though, "However...what about your friend."
What it all meant and concluded, he really didn't aver to argue the logistics of it all with himself, but rather enjoy his free time with her.
"My goodness Master Tyyrael, are you actually taking some time to enjoy yourself? And with lovely company no less."
As if on cue, but that was the way of things. Though Lhia would see the slight cringe flitter across his features at the voice, seeing as much as he was a people person...this one just rubbed him the wrong way. Thusly a look over his shoulder to the woman, whom always wanted soemthing or other and always came to him to get it through Brigade if she couldn't cut her deals on her own. "I'm not on duty, I'm allowed to have some."
"Tsk tsk, off duty when I need you most. I thought the Brigade Master was always avaliable at the drop of a hat."

"Praise some Gods?" She giggled at that and indeed her cheeks turned lavender and heated up. "That's a new way of looking at it, I suppose." Her gaze slid over to Araelin who was busy dancing away with Rodell. "We certainly aren't sneaking away now, Glynnic. Are would go crazy if I left her alone or she'd just clam up and not talk to anybody at all. No, the praising will have to wait until later when we have to sneak around under my father's nose."
She was lost in her own memories when the grating voice of one of her fellow members scraped against her ears. "Syrinne." Lhia knew her quite well and knew she was one of the women who had designs on Ty. She was also prettier than Lhia with long silver hair and mossy green eyes. "It seems rather silly to pull the Brigade Master when there are plenty of others trained to see to problems. What do you need? Perhaps one of those on-duty could help you."

A cheeky grin as her own cheeks flared with lavender. "It happens, you can't deny that." Another look over to the two...Rodell trying to help her with her steps still and her trying to not step on her own dress hem. "She probably shouldn't have anything to drink then either." Turning his attention back to her. "Is that an invitation to stay the night?"
"Silly? Of course not. He's the one who you know will get things done when others can't. Besides, what with all the impressionable new ones around it's important they see efficiency." Giving Lhia a look that women understood.
"Firstly...no one is wearing a hat, so there is no dropping." Tilting his head at her, "Secondly, you have to learn to start solving the hard things on your own.
"Yes Master Tyyrael but this time I think you really should handle it." Sideglancing Lhia and deciding to humor her. "Trade agreement going sour, and my own trying to soothe both parties isn't wanted or appreciated by them. Tyyrael however, everyone respects him."
