Katsuko didn't notice his tears because of the work. she protruded father into the room and the clutter was cut in half again.

Garret finished the song and softly set the violin down. He cried quietly to himself and walked out of the room.

Katsuko paused for a moment. *He's very odd isn't he, mother?* she thought, continuing her work.

Garret sat down on his sofa and continued to cry. *Why?* he thought.

Katsuko found the fairies. she smiled at them and picked the jar up. she placed her fingertips against the glass and they gathered around them. she placed the jar on a shelf and waved at them before continuing.

Garret dried up his tears and slapped himself across the face. *Get a hold of yourself Garret!* he told himself.

Garret sat on his sofa for half an hour, doing nothing. That's when he got up and walked to the storeroom. "Are you done yet?" he asked standing in the doorway.

Katsuko straightened one more box and then replied. "I am now." she said. she placed her hands on her hips and looked around. *I do a better job than my maids.... well... almost.* she thought.

Garret looked around the storeroom. Everything was clean and organized. "What do you think is fair payment?" he asked.

Garret sighed out of impatience and irritation and said "Just take the day off..." he turned his back and walked off.

Garret heard what Katsuko whispered and he walked back. He looked like he was about to stab himself in the throat. "Would you like to go to dinner then?" he asked.
