Unfortunately, Shisei was a bit more mysterious, so it would be much more difficult for Sukotto to think up something that he could use to assist in dispelling negative emotions that would drive him down the path that Sukotto feared he was in danger of traversing someday in the future. It was a weird thing to think about, as Sukotto felt as though Shisei was quite a bit like himself. They both trained like crazy to become stronger for their own reasons. Sukotto really did want to defend Shimagakure, but like Shisei, he took pride in being more powerful than others, and that sort of thing wasn't as selfless as it may have seemed on the surface in Sukotto's case. However, there was definitely something different between the two. Sukotto felt as if he were more willing to adapt to the situation that Shisei was. If he was presented with a team, he would do his best to work with them as well as he could, and try to bring out the best in them as well. In all actuality, that's exactly what he was doing with the squad that he lead. However, in Shisei's case, the boy seemed so focused on antagonizing everyone around him that he wouldn't adapt to situations quite like Sukotto would. That sort of personality would make him a lot of enemies, and if he really did intend on becoming powerful, then he'd have to limit his enemies as much as possible until he was able to defeat them all. If they struck before he was ready, and they would if they were even halfway intelligent, then he'd be easily defeated.

Charisma Training - Understanding the Nature of a Squad
Sukotto is observing an interesting situation between two of his squad mates and is attempting to learn something about each of them, hopefully enabling him to become better at leading the two of them.

Shisei could best compare himself to the fruit of a tree at the moment. He was dangling just waiting to fall from his stem. Like some type of mango or apple. What a revolting thought. Still the girl on top had kept her distance. Perhaps she understood the maverick was going to be able to get up on his own. Or maybe she was taking bets on whether he would fall to his death or not. Either was did not change the Orochi’s temperament. As the wind lightly swung his body the boy brushed a finger to move a bang from the side of his face. As he did that the finger traced to back of his skull where a sharp pang of pain came out on touch. The sudden pain receptor made the boy flinch and almost made him lose his already near nonexistent balance. Fortunately the coral head managed to keep his upturned frame aloft. An ankle in a vice and hurting head. It was the type of situation that would make him stronger though. At least in the snake’s mind. He was not going to done in so easily by a formation of rock. His will to survive was a lot more than this situation he was in now. There were many times before he was in a worst scenario. Not only off the island, but also on it too. “Wait a little to catch my breath and then I can try again. I’ll try like the first time and swing myself back up. I’ll just have to take into account the wind this time.” the boy thought while keeping his cool under pressure. He would need to calculate the wind against his body and time it when the wind was not blowing as strongly against him. If not… then the boy may really be in for a unhappy landing. For now his gold eyes loomed out over the village and rising sun. Watching the world in an inverted view.

Hanging in the wind like a caught kite, the Orochi youth decided to close his eyes to world and just contemplate. To die here and now. Exactly how many warriors have fallen in the same fate? Figuratively. How many were the greatest in the past, but were cheated from life because of a small training accident or a slip on a rock. Nothing somewhat expected like an assassination. Some just bit the dust by bad luck. Or because of how much lady fate liked that person. It was such a cheat and meaningless existence to die in such a way. It almost made Shisei want to believe that they were all at the whims of faith.

Although fate and destiny were always things popping up in humanity. Perhaps even more than life and death. Yet if there was a thing as fate or destiny, then what was the point in doing anything. As it was already determined beforehand who would be on top of the pyramid and who would be the useless bodies making the pyramid. That was also another undesirable fact of life. Shisei would not believe in such a foolish notion. It was exactly that type of thinking which made trash think they can have things both ways in their life. It was ok for the weak to have their tea with friends and family. Living a joyous life inhibited from worries. Yet those type of people did not need to be in line for becoming the strongest. They should know their place as ants that build the pyramid. Thrash like that was not permitted to be in the fierce battle for the best. Shisei would make sure of that.

Instead of focusing on the notion of fate, people should be trying to figure out death. After all Father Grim was the one entity that decided everything. The thread of life belonged to him. If Fortune decided who lived and died, it was up to Izanami to pursue the person and end their life. Then theoretically if one harnessed that being, then one need not to worry about dying in such an unsightly way. It would be the ultimate swindle in life if the serpent youth fell to his death while the rest of the trash down below continued to live for trivial reasons. The boy had to make a small chuckle to himself. Ironic how the weaklings were scattered down below while the strongest ones were on the mountain.

Another question that popped into the Orochi’s mind was of life. It was unfair for the strongest to die in petty ways. So then why also is it that the scum enjoyed their lives in peace and ascending to greater heights? Those were two equations that made no sense. If the serpent youth ever wielded the power of both, getting to choose who lived and died…. life would be fair. The ants could remain in their nests licking each others’ wounds, while the fierce beast can continue rising to be the strongest. Such petty deaths like a training accident or a random heart attack wouldn’t plague the strongest. Let that plague the weak. There were enough of them anyways. If only he had that power…. well it was definitely something to look into.

The more the Orochi hung, the more he pondered that idea. He wanted to find that tension in between life and death. That moment before a living organism dies, but they are not alive. Shisei always thought of his resolve to be the best and examine that place were two different things. Yet that may not be so. After all, no one has shown the ability to command death and life. At least not to Shisei’s mind. And if there was, Shisei would have to kill them in the future… Someone who could do that would definitely need to be strong. In fact they may actually be the strongest. For once Shisei finally saw two of his goals form together in one. Everything that meant anything to him lay at the top of the mountain above everyone else.

“Yes… the strongest…” the child prodigy thought. The flash of that man from years previous pierced his head. That crimson eye… that Sharingan… it was enough to get the serpent youth motivated again. His eyes opened and then closed again. The wind was blowing and Shisei wanted to concentrate on stream of air that was breezing pass. “Judging by the force of wind it will definitely push me over again if I do not time it right…. Seems like there is a couple of seconds in between. Maybe five seconds.” the boy thought. His brain then concentrated on the movements of his body. It slowly shifted and then began to sway. A strong gust of wind pushed his form further away from the branch, but that only gave is upper torso momentum. Like the pendulum in a clock, Shisei’s body continued until on a final swing he arched his upper body forwards with both arms extended. Success! All ten fingers made it into the bark of the barky growth from the cliff. The wind began to blow again which almost made the maverick fall backwards and end up in the same condition as last time, but he managed to keep a firm grip. With a bit of panting and shifting Shisei was finally back on the branch and not a few seconds from becoming the world’s bloodiest pancake. His eyes peered up to see if anything had changed. It appeared Serena was keeping her distance. Well no problem. After all he was a prodigy. The child braced himself for the next part of his climb and that was to go back up the mountain. Coming down was a lot easier than going back up, but the Orochi wanderer could do it. Just one jagged stone at a time. A foot to a slant. A hand to a protruding rock. Move one leg and hand. A few grunts with the wind chilling his back. Towards the top. That’s all Shisei had to keep in mind.

{Oh Gosh, I'm so so so sorry for making you wait, Katz!}

The Raiken breathed in deeply... she didn't have to say 'I told you so'. The look on her face spoke for her. Shisei had put himself in an even worse position to kill himself. Serena wondered if she could find a way to help. Even if she did try to help, would the boy accept it? Ugh. He was too stubborn sometimes and needed to learn how to accept help when offered.

The girl contemplated on this fact for quite a while. Finally..she decided to just ask before doing anything stupid. "Hey. Do you need help getting back up??" He'd probably take it as a taunt. He'll probably reject her offer, the Raiken thought. With her offer, Serena began to slowly make her way closer to the edge, planning out how she might help him up. It's very possible for her to get hurt, too..

[Heh. Don't worry about it Sun. I just didn't want to leave Shisei at the edge of cliff before I leave lol.]

“To the top. Only the top. Nothing less than the top.” Shisei thought to himself. These words meant more to him than just climbing at the moment. Those words were his life’s endeavor. Nothing less than the best. After all it is what mother would expect. It is what all would expect of a prodigy. A palm over a jagged edge and toes on another slant. He was getting close to the reaching back to Sukotto’s squad. During his climb the Orochi youth heard a voice. The gold eyes peered up to see the Serena staring down at him. “Help?” the boy tasted the words in his mouth for a few seconds. It was the taste of vinegar. Her question made him miscalculate his toes gripping on to another piece of stone. This made him slip for second; his entire body making a sudden jerk downwards. The snake student’s chin banged into the hard cliff, but that was the most prominent of injuries. Far from the worst case scenario that could have happened. “I don’t need help from” Shisei began to say, but made a mistake. Keeping his eye on Serena and listening to her words he rubbed his chin with a palm. This made his body drop two feet down. The maverick was able to grapple back on in time, but this time his forehead banged into the precipice and knee scrapped into the wall. “Grrr…” the gold eyes stared at sly smile with a irritated expression. “Yes. Thank you for the help…” the boy said. He decided to say no more. At least for now. Last thing he needed was the girl trying to poke him off the cliff with her staff if she felt the need to take advantage. It was a troubling situation. It probably would have been better that she stayed asleep. Yet at the same time if someone did need to find him over the cliff side she probably was the best person. Unlike the other slackers in his generation she was actually competent. Well to some degree.

[Sun if I'm not around you can just move Shisei along with your exercise. If his Hp drops too low when you make a rest post Shisei will gain back 3 Hp.]

Staring up at the kunoichi, Shisei did wonder how this situation would occur if the situations were reversed. Would Serena be one to cry out for help? Would she try to manage to the top on her own? Could she do it on her own? There were times the Raiken was a mystery in expressions and personality. Other times she was easy and typical to read. Exactly which one was the girl’s personality? Is one just a facade? There were many questions about this girl that needed to be answered. Even this concern over the youth. What was the ulterior motive? For Shisei there always has to be an ulterior motive. The other big question was how strong was person behind those twinkling eyes? The Uchiha sought her out, but why? Was it because of her special affinity or some other reason? Shisei knew that her and two others from a previous generation, perhaps the academy class before his. Yet at least two out of those three only received the title of genin on their own without classmates. This must mean that the three were the dead lasts of their class. So how strong were they? “Although I am no different now… I am the dead last of my class… yet those ‘genin’ couldn’t compare to half my skill.” the Orochi thought. This he felt to be true. The trash of his generation were only genin by name, not by skill or talent. So the question he was asking himself formed into something else. Was the Raiken also similar? Even if she is a dead last, was she in fact the strongest of her class? This would be something that Shisei would have to confirm soon. Out of the academy and genin students…. if he and Serena were indeed the strongest, then the prodigious maverick would need to confirm exactly who was stronger.

For now though his eyes focused to regaining his stride to the top where Sukutto’s team remained. If the mystifying girl did prove to be a inkling stronger, Shisei would have to surpass that. His aim for strength was far greater than his current level. Staring up past Serena and into the sky he could see that level he was going to surpass. That eye of crimson with those swirling tomoes. “Yes… that person…”. The thought of that man seemed to have propelled Shisei much faster towards the plateau where he slept this morning. Fingers and toes worked in conjunction. Eyes affixed to each makeshift crevice and foothold. That driving ambition is what propelled him and within ten minutes that ambition put him back to the top edge of the cliff. The tiring climb left his arms shaking like an unsteady structure. His breath heaved deeply in and out. Still the Orochi kept his emotionless face as if the difficult climb was nothing. A few beads of sweat lay on his forehead, but he did not mind. A few inches away from the Raiken the boy made a gloated expression of his singular victory over the mountain.

“See. I don’t need your help. I am perfectly capable”. The mountain was a sore loser. Shisei claimed his victory in the wrong place. Three fourths of his body still lay over the edge of the mountain and the kid’s attention was drawn to Serena to show just how superior he was over her. This led to the cliff’s border cracking and breaking under the boy’s weight. For another time he fell, but not as far as his previous ones. An arm managed to grab to a small branch while the rest of his limbs clung like a spider on a wall to the cliff. His distance was still arms reach from Serena so if she did indeed want to aid she could. Not the Orochi wanted any. “How… embarrassing…” the boy thought. Just as he was going to explain his capabilities when compared to everyone else. Even though Shisei felt his grip was tight he did not feel secure enough to release any of his limbs to try and move forward. That and dust from the crumbling rock was getting in his eye. He’d need to wait a while before moving again.

Serena looked at the boy as he struggle to get back up on the cliff. He claimed he didn't need help...but he was in a quite a dangerous situation there. The Raiken bit her lip, feeling the need to go against the boy's want. "Okay...I won't help you then." The girl replied as she sat down on the edge of the cliff and felt for a limb below. Something told her that this would put her own self in a bit of trouble, as well. She breathed in and lightly stepped on a large branch underneath her. There really wasn't much time..Shisei was stumbling too much. A few more falls and the boy would be at his demise. And Serena definitely didn't want that to happen.

The Uchiha decided to take a break from analyzing the various personalities of his squad members in order to think strategy for a little while. Making battle plans was one of his most favorite things to do, so Sukotto saw it as a break from training of sorts, but it would still effectively assist him in the future, just like regular training would. While watching his two squad members interact, the Uchiha began to wonder how their personalities could be used to plan tactics. Originally, the chuunin had been considering what sorts of things he’d have to work around in order to put an effective squad together, and had been overlooking the potential advantages that he could utilize by exploring his squad’s emotions, traits, and moods. Indeed, he had read in many strategy books that moral was one of the most, if not then the very most important element in a combat situation.Sukotto would do his best to organize his thinking so that he wasn’t left wandering along the tracks of some wandering train of thought.

Unfortunately, Sukotto had a bit of trouble after having decided to momentarily switch the gears of his training to focus on something that was a bit more battle oriented than personality oriented. He figured that he would have a bit of difficulty figuring things out, since personalites were complex enough on their own, but when combined with a shinobi's battle tactis, that complication was multiplied by quite a bit, making the thought process involved quite complex and difficult to easily understand. Sukotto would do his best to wade his way through his mind so that he'd be able to assist his squad with learning how to put their emotions to good use. He'd try to forget his surroundings and focus on what was at hand, the things he would need to discover in order to help his team, and the ways he would go about understanding these things on his own, since he would need to understand them before he could truly teach anything to his squad. The Uchiha closed his eyes for a few moments, allowing his chakra to settle and his own emotions to slow to a near halt. He'd have to think about this sort of thing with a very clear mind, and to do that, Sukotto would really need to focus on the important things that he had laid before himself.

Since he had decided to make sure that he was organized, Sukotto’s first step in his training would be to plan out the steps that he would take to get from the start to the endof his session. Since the things he’d be covering could be considered in many ways, in varying derees of depth, the Uchiha would focus on five general areas of the subject, figuring that it would divide up his thoughts quite well, and would also prevent him from lingering on one topic for longer or shorter than he thought was necessary. First, Sukotto would consider the various personality strengths that were held by the two squad members that he was considering. This would allow him to set a good base for his thinking, and would most likely inspire him with some good ideas about how he could use each of these strengths to his advantage. Next, the Uchiha would look at how these strengths could be summoned. Even if Sukotto were to completely understand the workings of both Serena and Shisei’s minds, that knowledge would be quite useless to him if he didn’t know how to call upon it and put it go good use when things became tricky in a difficult situation.
