(( Overdue, but... ))
"My appologies," Gavin said; the man's voice hauntingly smooth despite the jagged cuts and scars that showed plain as day across his flesh. He exited one of the side tunnels, stepping into the candlelight of the foyer and approaching the table that Decruda was reading, or studying, or whatever the bloody hell he does with that book at.
"It seems that fate has quite a bitter twist of late, and an unfortunate circumstance has made things rather... difficult."
As he spoke, Hector exited the tunnel from which he had just exited; the massive golem's head scraping lightly along the roof of the tunnel even ducked low, with an exhumed corpse cradled in one arm.
"Something has the city guard up in arms, and to proceed from here must be done cautiously and slowly. Far too slowly, unfortunately. It is an unnecessary risk, though one that will innevitably fade with time. It would be best to concentrate our efforts on other matters, and await a more opportune moment to proceed here."

MerDefsGirl "No problems Colonel, just on my way to search for a bite to eat," she said, secretly admiring his composure and rugged good looks, "Or will I be shot at for that too?" Briggs smiled and chuckled a bit. He knew of the lockdown, and was actually in command of a very large ammount of forces in the field, and thus, he had permission to walk about the city to check up on his guards. However, even he wasn't so high up that he could walk around without giving his identification and password to the question troops. Any suspicious actions made by him would be reported soon enough if he began to act strangely. This went for ALL the higher-ups. Certainly not.He smiled and regained his composure, though she'd notice that while he was orderly and ahd the air of authority, he had a gentle and relaxed manner about him as he spoke. He seemed much less intimidating than the other guards she would have spoken to. It isn't a crime to be getting food, even under a lockdown. Afterall, everyone needs to eat at some point. He admired the young woman, examining her clothing and posture, skin tone and personality. It all added up to one thing. You aren't from Lament, are you?It seems he was sharp, as well as fit and "attractive".

Lilith wasn't undead. Far from it, actually. With her magic, she would be able to conjure up food enough to last her a day, then continually use the spell each day that she prays for renewed spells, if her involuntary imprisonment lasted that long. As for the guards catching her... it was inevitable. Still, she may get lucky, and someone from down below will need the elevator. It's either that, or she waits until the next day, when her spells will be renewed and she can once again use her Wind Walk spell.

((Thats a relief in a way. I might be hating everyone trying to take over my city, but I don't really want anyone dead. Thats more of a threat to keep people away you understand.))
Lillith would deffinately be stuck for quite some time. For now, all she would be able to do was sit and wait for someone to come along and use the elevator, which didn't look too likely for the next few hours.

His eyes flashed open as he sat by the table with an open book in front of him as Gavin gave him the message.
"Very well then." he answered as he closed the tome and put it away into the bag he had brought. It would be time to leave.
He waved his hands over the empty space on the table once, twice, three times, and on the final pass, there appeared a small ornate chest of polished ebony and platinum fittings. He opened the chest and put his bag into it before repeating the process of waving his hands over it. Once, twice, thrice; the chest disappeared.
Secondly, he retrieved a small object from one of the many pouches which lined his belt and slipped it into an empty bag at his left side. The object itself appeared to be a tiny carving of a chest, in fact, it appeared to be a replica of the finely crafted ebony chest that was before him a moment ago.
And so, his items were now gone. However, he was not. His preparations were not made to incorporate a simple teleport spell, so how was he going to get out?
Simple, he was going to walk right out of the city.
"I'll see you later then." he said to Gavin as he marked the ground in the center of the four directional marks he had previously put into the walls; nothing but a simple rune. And then he'd head out the same way he came in.

Ryugi Kazamaru You aren't from Lament, are you? She had been just about everywhere, yet was from nowhere. An irony that hurt every time she thought about it. Even that dump in the middle of Barthovos, couldn't really be called home. Her people never had a homeland, and she inherited that fate, a drifter. "No, I'm not from Lament, but I've been here many times," she said, regaining her composure, "I was sent here to determine who invaded Lament, and that entails getting to the bottom of these strange occurrences behind the lockdown. Frankly, I already know who attacked the city first, and if his death is just a rouse like I think it is, you'll be attacked again on a grander scale. I just wanted to gather evidence in order to identify him beyond the shadow of a doubt, and possibly help you round up a few suspicious characters along the way."She had sent herself, but had left notice of where she was going, so she was telling the truth, even though there was a false implication that she was ordered here. She examined the ground, the volcanic soil seemed darker in patches and her unique condition gave her some insight as to the problem. Plus, she had seen the slugs get slaughtered on television. "You have patches of cursed ground across the road. A low level necro could have a field day over there." she said, "I suggest you get a white mage or at least some respectable clergy to begin purification of every area where the remains of those slugs touched the ground. That should take care of the problem permanently."It might have already been done for all she knew, but with these things it was always possible to miss a spot. Her stomach growled, sweatdrop

A lone figure, clad simply and carrying a bulky bundle over one shoulder, stops to look at the city before him.
???: "So that's Lament..."
He shifts the bundle to make it slightly more comfortable, then continues his hike towards Lament, purpose guiding his striding steps.
???: It's called the Dark City by some...if only they knew...
He shakes his head and smiles to himself as he nears the gates...then his expression drops into one of disbelief as he stops in his tracks. There are armed guards patrolling before the gate, which is shut.
???: Something's up in Lament.
He walks forward, knowing the guards would immediately train their weapons on him. He raises his free hand to show that he doesn't plan on going for a weapon, despite the sword hanging at his side.
???: "What is going on that the city is sealed so?"

Decruda stepped out of the grave and into the graveyard, scimitar in his right hand, glass dagger in his left, as his face melted off, the skin dripping down to splatter against the ground at his feet to leave his face raw. "I wish..." he took a few steps through the graveyard, "To be able to cast my prepared spells with nothing more than a thought." Limited Wish The limited wish is a very potent but difficult spell. It will fulfill literally, but only partially or for a limited duration, the utterance of the spellcaster. Thus, the actuality of the past, present, or future might be altered (but possibly only for the wizard unless the wording of the spell is most carefully stated) in some limited manner. The use of a limited wish will not substantially change major realities, nor will it bring wealth or experience merely by asking. Casting time is based on the time spent preparing the wording for the spell (clever wizardss decide what they want to say before using the spell). Casting this spell ages the caster one year per 100 years of regular life span. It was too bad he did not have a wish spell, for every time he did this, he'd age one year, and it was only temporary. It was time for a walk.

That should take care of the problem permanently." sweatdrop Necros you say? So...It seems we might have a bigger problem on our hands than we thought. The lockdown was mainly for terrorists that had attacked a service elevator, but there had been a rash of undead activity earlier on before the attack... So, if what you're saying is true, we could have a necromantic hive somewhere in this city already. He crossed his arms and his vision seemed to drift as he spoke. He was in strategic mode, and he had to come up with a way to deal with this new information. We've checked the upper portions of the city and there hasn't been much activity other than a couple of forced entrance attempts. That fact alone leads us to believe that we need to retain the lockdown until we are sure we put an end to this. I'll have the squads in the Underground make a special note to report anything strange or out of the ordinary. Many of my troops are already down there and I can have them relay the message to other patrols. He uncrossed his arms and they moved to his side where his radio was kept. He picked it up, tuned it to his troops' frequency, and let loose with the news. Listen up everyone, this is Briggs. I've just recieved word that we may have a necromantic hub somewhere in the city. The topside seems pretty clean other than the attempts to enter the city you've all heard about. I want you all to keep a lookout for ANYTHING strange that could possibly be a sign of undead activity. Keep a clip of light rounds with you at all times, and stay alert. I want you to spread this message to the other teams down there, and if possible, talk to the other teams about anything strange they might have seen while down there. It may help us determine where the hub could be located. Briggs over and out.He replaced his radio and looked back towards the woman. I hope that helps them... Either way, how about you and I get some food, and try to figure out if I can help you or not.

Kuroiten ???: "What is going on that the city is sealed so?" Terrorist problems, and now it seems there might be a necromantic hub inside the city somewhere as well. We're sorry, but we can't offer you entrance. You'll have to go elsewhere. The guards still had thier weapons trained on him, but they didn't sound threatening at the moment.

And so, the spellsword would be walking around right in the middle of the empty streets. He'd head directly for one of the elevators to topside.

Lilith opened her eyes, coming out of reverie. She was still in the elevator. Bringing a hand to the amulet around her neck, she closed her eyes and whispered a prayer for new spells, feeling them fill her mind. She had no need to prepare any new ones, since she was going to use the same set she used the previous day. She hadn't even used all of them yesterday, just ones to help her evade capture, which then landed her here.
Standing up, she recited the spell that would turn her into a gaseous form, floating up through the vents in the ceiling, then going around and floating down the shaft. Once she reached the bottom, she would come out of her gaseous state - the spell was still active, so she could choose to go back into it until it expires - then used the spell to place her body in the Ethereal Plane, walking through the closed elevator doors that led into the Underground.

Kraun And so, the spellsword would be walking around right in the middle of the empty streets. He'd head directly for one of the elevators to topside. You there!! Freeze!! Hands where we can see them! He'd just run into a rather large patrol group of nearly twenty men, each one armed with rifles. One man stood with no weapon in the back of the group... Darshendros the Eternal Standing up, she recited the spell that would turn her into a gaseous form, floating up through the vents in the ceiling, then going around and floating down the shaft. Once she reached the bottom, she would come out of her gaseous state - the spell was still active, so she could choose to go back into it until it expires - then used the spell to place her body in the Ethereal Plane, walking through the closed elevator doors that led into the Underground. *loud screaching alarm goes off* If Lillith were to look down near her feet, she'd see two very tiny devices on either side of the elevator doors. They looked almost like smoke detectors, except this was only in appearance. In reality, they were arcana detectors. Designed to go off at the slightest hint of magic in their area. And as it turned out, the entire Underground was FULL of them in various places. The guards had been awfully busy while she was away... What other traps lay hidden in the Underground, were to remain a secret for now...

Well, the grunts may have been morons, she thought, but this one actually seems to have a brain."I'd love to," she said, cursing the fact that she was still paying off debts she didn't owe because of Yaits and his odd form of identity theft, but smiling politely. "Know any good places where a girl can eat on seventeen credits? Perhaps we can exchange notes?"

Ryugi Kazamaru You there!! Freeze!! Hands where we can see them! And then as soon as the last sylibal was uttered, the entire area lit up in a flash of light. Third Level Lightning Bolt Upon casting this spell, the wizard releases a powerful stroke of electrical energy to each creature within its area of effect. The bolt begins at a range and height decided by the caster and streaks outward in a direct line from the casting wizard. The lightning bolt may set fire to combustibles, sunder wooden doors, splinter up to a half-foot thickness of stone, and melt metals with a low melting point (lead, gold, copper, silver, bronze). If the damage caused to an interposing barrier shatters or breaks through it, the bolt continues. A bolt can breach 1 inch of wood or half an inch of stone per caster level, up to a maximum of 1 foot of wood or half a foot of stone. The lightning bolt's area of effect is chosen by the spellcaster: either a forked bolt 10 feet wide and 40 feet long or a single bolt 5 feet wide and 80 feet long. If a bolt cannot reach its full length, because of an unyielding barrier (such as a stone wall), the lightning bolt rebounds from the barrier toward its caster, ending only when it reaches its full length. The material components of the spell are a bit of fur and an amber, crystal, or glass rod. So the lightning bolt would rip into the crowd without any warning at all; No static charge in the air of an energy build-up, no somatic hand motions, no incantaions, it was instantaneous, and all he did was continue to take his walk. For those who would survive a direct lightning strike, they'd still have to worry about the ammunition going off and all that jazz. Oh, his hands were clearly visible. They were at his sides holding weapons. He never bothered to lift them or anything.
