((POSTIE TIIIMEEEE!!! D:<<< ))
Talen titled his mouth into a sideways smile and ruffled David's hair. He made a face at him, but hugged at his arm, leaning his face against the sleeve of his shirt.
"You hear that, kiddo?"
David nodded, watching Abel, a single eye peeking out around Talen's arm to view him with.
"Well?"
"Thank you." He said in reply to Abel's compliment. "I've had a lot of birthdays." Then he became very quiet. He was watching Abel with a suspicious frown, an adorable scrutinizing expression. It was the look that many children used to turn out lies from adult's faces. He looked up to Talen for assurance, or perhaps the truth on this mysterious man who claimed to have met dinosaurs. His uncle shrugged, eyebrows raised. David looked back to Abel warily.
"Can he come in?"
David quirked his mouth and nodded once.
Talen grinned and let David slide from his arm. The little boy retreated back beneath his blankets and waited, the fabric pulled up just below his chin.
((hahaha, he's NOT SURE ABOUT THIS STRANGER. DINOSAUR STRANGER.))

Abel smiled a bit. "A lot of birthdays is right. But even so...I've had more than you could imagine and I am still not as lucky as you." He smirked playfully and then ventured inside the room as the kid agreed to let him in. He stepped over a plastic car and looked around a moment before moving next to the bed and frowning curiously, looking for somewhere to sit.
Finally he decided upon the floor and slid into a sitting position on the carpet. He rubbed the back of his neck, smoothing out some muscles before leaning back and nodding. "So yeah, I met some dinosaurs. I shouldn't really say met...since you know dinosaurs can't really hold conversations with you. But I saw some live ones. Remember, you have to keep this all under wraps...it's a secret. If you tell anyone, I could get in serious trouble. You folks aren't supposed to know. Humans would go crazy...society would crumble. You get the drift." He frowned seriously at the boy before looking around a couple of times as if to make sure no one was listening.
"You see, I'm not normal. I'm dead. Not a zombie though...nothing scary. I'm an angel. So technically not dead...just passed over. But it's fine really. I feel more alive than ever. But anyways, dinosaurs. So as an angel we're able to go back and forth in time, like a time machine, but much more amazing. This all happened when I was still getting used to all these new powers. I was trying to just go back a few minutes or hours, but instead I went back thousands of years.
"When I got there I was extremely dizzy. I collapsed, my legs were like jello, and the world was spinning. At first all I saw were these MASSIVE trees." He stopped and made a spreading motion with his arms to emphasize the size. "So big. Bigger than any tree you've ever seen. They were bigger than any building you've ever seen. I was so small in this large forest. There were also big insects. The size of my fist, even bigger. One nearly ran into me. I ducked, almost tripping into a pit of muddy grime and goo. The air was thick and moist, like a rain forest.
"I was pretty scared. To tell you the truth, I was terrified. I was alone, and confused. I had no idea how to get back. I was just discovering how to control these new powers, going forward in time thousands of years was too much for me to handle. When I was walking through this forest I kept hearing noises, clicking, sounds like roaring, some even sounded like a cat meowing. It was bizarre. So I continued to wander around, hoping I'd find some hint or clue as to how to get back. As I was looking around I came out to a vast expanse of fields, as far as the eye could see. Just miles of grass. Some trees were scattered here and there, but otherwise, just grass, hills, and these huge...HUGE creatures. I was too worried to realize what they were until I noticed one right next to me. His foot was wider and much taller than me. Now I'm already tall...so imagine a FOOT taller than me...that's crazy. I jumped back, scared out of my wits.
"This creature bent it's long, really long, neck down, its massive head was nearly inches away from me. I could feel and smell its hot breath on my face. It nearly knocked me over it was so overwhelming. I was frozen in place, afraid it might eat me. I didn't know about dinosaurs than...I never got into them as a kid, never interested me. So I didn't know this one didn't eat humans, or angels... But it just stared at me with large brown eyes. They were piercing. It was like looking into the oldest soul and seeing a thousand years right before your own eyes. The creature pushed its face against mine and then pulled back, lifting its large head into the sky again..."
Abel continued his story, describing all the dinosaurs he supposedly had met, and all the strange, interesting scenes. He seemed lost in his story, getting deeply into it and moving closer as he continued, hands moving to help explain himself, eyes sparkling, and lip twitching into a smile every now and then. Somehow it felt like he was telling his life's story without ever really telling it...and it felt wonderful.
((Hahaha he's like a little kid himself...))

((Ooooooh man. Getting homework done feels SO EXCELLENT.... Foo' reaaaaal... I'm ready for winter break :/. ))
When Abel first began to speak, David drew deeper into his sheets and was looking at him watchfully. With one hand he was gripping Talen's shirt sleeve again, and he laid back with him to listen. This somehow brought the little boy comfort, and watching Talen watching Abel so easily made him listen as well.
Slowly through the story David drew out a little further. He came cautiously, carefully creeping. By the end he was sprawled over his uncle, his tiny mouth frowning thoughtfully.
"An angel?" He mused.
Talen nodded to his little nephew. "Yeah. Remember when I told you about them?"
David still had his mouth in that suspicious shape. Reaching out he touched Abel's face with tiny hands. It wasn't apparent what he might have been feeling for, but sitting back he seemed satisfied for whatever he had found there. "I'll keep your secret." He decided. He turned his face towards Talen. "You too."
Talen's face split into a broad smile. "You bet. Not a word." He locked his lips with his fingers and threw away the key.
David then settled back into his blankets and seemed satisfied.

When Abel finished his story, reluctantly so, he yawned. He hadn't spoken so much in quite a while. His mouth felt a bit dry and his jaw was tired. Rubbing his cheek he looked back over to David as he spoke out. Abel laughed a bit and nodded, but when David reached out towards his face, he blinked curiously. When he touched the angel's face, Abel smiled softly and raised his brows.
"Thanks. I knew I could trust you." He said genuinely. He became quiet as David and Talen exchanged words, his blue eyes roaming towards the window where it was getting darker, the sun having disappeared behind the horizon and the remaining bits of light creating a dusky setting.
After a moment he looked back to the two on the bed. He wondered what it was like to be responsible for such an important, fragile thing. Of course he had been responsible for things before, but nothing so important, in his mind, as a kid.
((Weeeeekend.))

((ALRIGHT! POST AGAAAAAIN! YEEEAH CRAZY!))
"I'm going to bed now." David announced and tucked himself in.
"Are you now?" Talen wanted to know.
"Yes." He said. He crossed his arms over his chest, eyes on Abel. "You can tuck me in."
Talen laughed, drawing away from his nephew. "I think we should tuck ABEL in. You wore him out, kid!"
"He's too old!" David declared, but then with a more uncertain expression watched Abel. "I could tuck you in if you wanted."
Talen smiled.

((Awwww hahaha I love David. My brother's middle name is David... Random fact.))
Abel laughed as David said he could tuck him in. He opened his eyes and looked at him with a surprised expression. "Really? It'd be an honor." He said and started to stand up. As Talen said Abel should be tucked in, he smirked down at him and shook his head. "David's right. I'm too old to be given such a privilege. Plus I should take a shower before I sleep. I'm dirty." In fact, he wasn't dirty at all. But to him he was the epitome of dirty. He had been outside, hadn't washed his hands, hadn't washed his hair, he was dirty in his mind.
Abel then bent down over David and pulled the covers up slightly. He tucked the ends down a bit, but not to much and then pulled up, examining his job and deciding whether it was decent or not. "I think I did it right. Is there anything else I should do?" He asked David, fully ready to do whatever he wanted him to. "Just say the word and I'll do it." He smiled gently and nodded.

((POST AGAIN, SUCKA. And lol, my dad's name IS David! WOOOO... and it's also the name of that kid I knew in high school that came to class high once and kept petting my head... hahahahaha.
It's a pretty common name! *laughs* Also... hahahaah, that kid in Sweeney Todd that falls in love with Johanna... HAHAHA, HE'S SUCH A CREEPER.... random. I got his song stuck in my head.))
David seemed a bit confused about his dirty statement, but a look from his uncle made him decide not to pursue that particular topic of conversation. He settled down deeper in his pillow as Abel pulled up the blankets and nodded his head in approval.
"Almost." David informed him. "But it takes practice to get as good as Talen."
Talen put his hands on his hips, posing. "What can I say? I'm good."
David nodded and then raised his eyebrows up at Abel. "... You can go now so I can sleep." He said.
Talen coughed out a laugh.
"I'm tired, sir, and my mom doesn't like me up past my bedtime. We can be friends tomorrow." David nodded once more, ever the serious child, and turned on his side to sleep. "We gotta play SPORTS tomorrow, Talen."
"Okay, kiddo."
"But you gotta go too."
"Alright. You're the boss! Come on, Abel." He knelt briefly to kiss his nephew atop his head and Talen led the way out of his room, shutting the door behind him gently. He grinned at Abel. "He's great, right?" He laughed. "Best kid in the world." He nodded, leading the way back down the stairs. "But you look bushed, Mei'll probbaly give me a hard time if I bother you too long."

Abel nodded understandingly and started to move towards the door. "It would be hard to sleep with people watching you..." he muttered mostly to himself. Once Talen closed the door, Abel looked to him and smiled. "He is a really good kid." He agreed, following Talen down the stairs.
"No!" Abel exclaimed, frowning. "I mean yeah...I'm tired. But you aren't bothering me! I'm sure Mei wouldn't mind you coming along. I haven't seen you in years...she won't mind. Even if she did...I'd make her let you stay." He stepped off the stairs and ran his hands through his hair, yawning. "Anyways...I'm not sure where her place is...you probably know. And if it's any of her normal jobs, she won't be coming back until late tonight or even tomorrow morning." He smiled at Talen, in a way that no one could turn him down.
"You should come over. Saul too. We need to catch up. Or just...hang out a bit. I've only been here for like two hours or so."

((IMMA POST BEFORE I GO TO WORK... And study... aaaaaand read... and study some more... and theeeen write a paper..... yaaaaaaaay.... *dies*))
Talen jumped a little at Abel's exclamation of no. He blinked and then laughed. "Alright, alright!" He said, still laughing. "Don't need to jump all over me!" He joked, but still seemed a little unsure, especially as his friend yawned. He ran his hands through his hair, and sighed.
"If Mei kills me... I'm going to give you SUCH a hard time!" Talen smiled. "But it has been awhile..." He turned his eyebrows up and gripped his friend's shoulder. "I'll come over... and I'll bring Saul."
"You'd better." Saul said emerging from the kitchen. "James and Alice are being all cute again and it's making me sick." He twitched his mouth into that slight smile. "And of course Talen knows where Mei lives."
Talen waggled his eyebrows. "Oh yeah."
"Not that he's been in there as often as he'd like." Saul led the way out.
Talen grinned after his friend and rolled his eyes a little. "Yeah." He followed after, beckoning Abel with a hand.

Abel smiled as Saul came out of the kitchen. He laughed a bit as Saul teased Talen, making Abel raise his brows at his best friend and leaned towards him a bit. "So you DO like her." He said in a soft voice and nodded before leaning back again, head tilted. "I kind of had that feeling. But I figured it was Mei being herself...flirting with every male thing she saw." He smirked a bit more deviously now. "Just so you know. She's had a thing for you for years. Otherwise she'd probably not have stayed so close to you guys. She doesn't really have many friends here."
Before he left he went into the kitchen, raising a hand to Alice and James. "I guess I'm heading out for the night. It was a pleasure seeing you Alice...REALLY a pleasure. I missed you a lot. And it was nice meeting you, James. Good Night!" He then slid out again and followed Talen out of the house.
Closing the door behind him he took a deep breath of fresh night air and flipped some hair from his face. The sky was amazingly clear, the stars so visible, and the moon especially bright. "What a gorgeous night." He proclaimed, a little bounce in his step.
((Haha I can imagine him bursting out into song and dancing down the street...

((hahaha, I like these days when I can post more than once. It's pretty excellent. AND OMG. YES. Abel would sing. HE WOULD SING LIKE A BIIIIRDDD.... hahaha, I love him.))
Talen jerked a bit as Abel leaned in towards him. He laughed uncertainly, rubbing at his hair. "Woah. No one said-"
"Shut up, Talen." Saul said from somewhere outside.
Talen bit his lip. "Alright. Guilty." He laughed. "Oh? A FEELING? Hear that Saul?"
"Well, he might have had a feeling, but everyone else just KNEW."
"I miss when you were that quiet miserable kid." Talen said wrinkling his nose, but he was quite happily distracted at Abel's next words. "What?" He hit his friend's shoulder gently. "For real? You're not messing with me, are you?! I'd be so MAD if you were messing with me!"
Saul chuckled. "You are so oblivious sometimes."
Talen scowled and ran out the door. There was a rumble of running feet and then a shout and a crunch as a pair of bodies tumbled into the grass.
Alice smiled from Jame's embrace, the pair of them leaning against the counter and being "cute" as Saul had put it.
"I missed you too... probably not as much as Talen. He's really..." She shook her head. "Now that you're here, don't be a stranger. I want you here as OFTEN as POSSIBLE!"
James laughed. "A new man in her life. I feel like I should be jealous."
Alice punched him gently under James's chin and then waved. "Glad to have you back, Abel."
When Abel emerged outside Saul and Talen were tussling in the grass. Saul was losing terribly and saying all matter of foul phases into his face, though every once in awhile he'd explode with laughter. Talen wrestled him mercessily and once he was helpless to fight back, hefted him up easily in a fireman's carry on his broad shoulders and looked over at Abel. Saul squirmed, kicking his legs feebly.
"Yeah." He sighed, looking at the night as well. "It is nice." He agreed. He had a large grin on his face he couldn't seem to get rid of.
Saul, meanwhile, said: "All I can see is Talen's fat a**."
Talen laughed and dropped him into the grass again. "Onwards!" He exclaimed.
Saul untangled himself from the heap his body had created and dusted himself off, scowling. However, turning back to Abel he twitched his smile into a small smile. "After him, I guess."
Walking to Mei's hardly took any time at all. She'd always kept close as Abel had said, and for that Alice had been grateful. For last minute baby sitting calls, Mei had always been the one she'd called. Talen waved at the home with gusto, looking at Abel.
"Ta dah." Saul said unenthusiastically.

((HAHA WHAT A PAIR OF BOYS GOSH. WRESTLING. DIRTY DIRTY.))
Abel watched the two on the grass with a confused look. "Don't fight..." He stopped when Talen pulled Saul over his shoulder. Abel smiled weakly, still unsure but saw that Talen began to laugh and drop Saul. "Talen...you should be more careful..." He said quietly, looking at Saul with a worried expression. He was about to ask if he was alright but saw his smile and Abel smiled back.
"Yeah." He said simply and started after Talen, his long legs easily catching him up to his friend. "You're shirt is dirty now...it's going to bother me you know." He sighed heavily and bit his lip, looking down at the man's shirt with an unenthusiastic face. Looking away, he ignored the messiness around him and watched the scenes passing by, smiling with a carefree expression.
As they approached the small house, Abel looked up and raised his brows. There was a pretty impressive garden outside. Flowers were placed in specific areas, creating an overall gorgeous layout. The pathway leading up to the one-story house was made of cobble stone. It was out of place to say the least. The other houses around it were not very well kept, or extremely bland, only grass, wood, and stone. Mei's house was also painted a light green, the shutters and door were made of dark brown wood.
Abel smiled pleasantly at the house, noticing the mailbox had a different name on it. He shrugged, knowing Mei would enjoy going around by a different alias. The name was male however, Patrick. Which of course, Mei would enjoy even more, getting people asking questions and starting rumors about her.
After a moment he look to Saul and Talen before heading up the pathway. "I wonder if she left the door unlocked..." He said out loud and walked up to said door. After trying to open it, he had the answer to his wondering...it was locked. "Why would she lock it if she knew I was going to be coming?" He frowned and knocked. There was loud barking inside and then claws started to clamber behind the door.
Uncertainty crossed Abel's face and he leaned towards the door. "Ummm...could you let us in?" The barks and clawing stopped. One dog growled slightly and Abel leaned against the door, ear against it. "It's okay, we're your master's friends." He said, as if understanding them. There was clawing again, this time at the lock inside. A click sounded and Abel opened up the door.
There were three dogs sitting away from the door, watching them. Two were large pitbulls, one pure white, and the other black. The white one had strange yellow eyes and the black one had pure green. In between the two was a rottweiler, his brown eyes watched the three men before him.
"Hi..." Abel said and walked into the house. He glanced behind him at Talen and Saul. "Thanks for letting us in." He said, looking back at the three dogs who were still. Finally the black pitbull jumped up, startling Abel, who jumped back, hands outstretched defensively. The pitbull walked to him, jaw opened, tongue hanging out, and his tail wagging.

((DOGGIES!... I'm taking a break from studying... I'm nooooot looking forward to this midterm. NOT. AT. ALL.... buuuuh ':/ .. hahaha, also, it's not a fair fight between Saul and Talen... SAUL IS SUCH A WIMP!))
Talen only laughed at Abel's statement. "I'm surprised my hair doesn't drive you crazy." He said instead, but did a menial job of trying to wipe the dirt from his shirt. Saul was trailing behind them, shaking his head.
"You're a pretty gross guy, Talen." He put in not unhelpfully, in fact, he said it in a rather helpful tone of voice which was what perhaps made Talen turn to give him a look.
"You wanna go again?" He wanted to know.
Saul promptly pressed his lips together, smiling benignly.
"Thought so."
Once at Mei's house Talen was watching Abel's expression. "It's something else, isn't it?" He was laughing.
Saul's mouth twitched into a smile as he continued up the walk and to the door. Talen followed after as Abel too made for the front door and stood just beside, arms crossed over his chest. He grinned sightly at Abel's remark.
"Maybe she doesn't want you after all." Talen said, and then laughed at the scratching at the door and then was more amused at Abel's attempts to talk to the creatures behind the door. "Oh man!" He exhaled, still laughing. "You hear this guy?"
Saul merely shook his head and smiled, though both of their smiles dropped when the locked clicked open.
"... Damn." They said in unison, and exchanged an awed expression.
"The DOG whisperer!" Talen exclaimed. He grinned at the three dogs and then put a hand lightly to Abel's back. "Woah! Relax. Ever been around dogs before?" He walked in among the other two, touching them lightly on their heads, scratching them behind their ears. "Big softies, these three."
Saul walked in himself not bothering himself with the animals. "I'm going to look in her fridge." Is all he said, vanishing further into the house.

Abel smiled sheepishly. "I picked it up with the time I spent with Gabriel...I never got to really use it before though." He shrugged a bit and then looked down at the black dog in front of him. "Uhhh...I've had bad experiences. My dad used to raise dogs...German Shepherds. And...well anyways. These seem nice." He put out his hand slowly and pat the dog on the head. He barked happily and pressed his head against Abel's knee. He smiled again and rubbed his head.
"It figures Mei would have them though. She likes animals." He looked over to Saul as he vanished into the house to look through Mei's friend. Abel laughed a bit and then looked back down to the black dog. "What's your name?" He asked softly and the dog looked up at him with his green eyes. Abel blinked and laughed for a moment. "Huh...Hades..." He looked over to the other two. The rottweiler was the most calm, statuesque. "I'm just going to guess...you're Zeus, and you must be...Hercules." He snorted as the dogs opened their mouths. "I remember her talking about this before."
He removed his hand from Hades and wandered further into the house. Zeus got up and followed close by Abel, as if protecting him. "She's got a lot of stuff." And indeed she did. There were antiques lining every inch of the wall, photos and paintings hung everywhere, some looked ancient. Some pictures were black and white, of Mei and other people, some of just other people, some of places, and some of just Mei. All were in different time periods. Abel leaned towards an old Asian vase and put a hand to it. "Wow...everything looks so interesting. Kind of dusty though...but I'd be afraid I'd break something cleaning all of this." Zeus made a noise and Abel looked down at him with a raised brow before finding Saul in the kitchen, which was strangely barren of any artifact. There were wine bottles lining one wall, some bananas on the table, and other than that, nothing else, except for an empty beer bottle. If one didn't know the woman who lived here, they'd thing it was an eclectic bachelor's pad.
"Ummm..." He stretched out his arms and sat down at the old oak table. Slowly he began unraveling the bandages around his arm. Zeus rest his squared brown and black head on Abel's thigh. The angel looked down at the dog as he finished getting rid of the bandage and smiled. "Do you guys know where the bathroom is...I kind of want to shower..." He asked of his friends. Zeus raised his head and looked to the right of the kitchen where there was another short hallway.
"I'll make it quick..." He said to Saul and Talen and walked down the hallway and into the bathroom at the end.

((SHOOOWWEEEERRRRS... *drools to herself*))
Talen wiggled his fingers as Abel said the dog's names. "Ooooh. You're giving me the chills, Abel. THE CHILLS." Laughing he too went deeper into the house. "It'd be cooler if you could talk to fish though... then you'd be like Aqua Man... but probably cooler. Aqua Man is a loser. I won't lie."
"Absolutely." Saul agreed from the kitchen. He seemed rather disappointed from the turn out, but that didn't stop him from eating a banana. "It's a wonder how she's still so-"
A look from Talen made him stop that comment still half formed in his mouth. He coughed, cleared his throat.
"... Uh. Pretty." He said instead.
That made Talen smile. He glanced back over his shoulder to Abel. "Yeah.. she's a bit of a pack rat. I don't even know the story behind half these things. I don't think there's any TIME to know everything." He leaned against the counter, running his hands through his hair. "It's nuts." He decided.
Once Abel arrived in the kitchen Talen bent over to maybe worry over what wounds there were left to worry over, but there were none. He quirked his mouth.
"Neat trick." He said and then nodded. "Yeah. Don't keep me and Saul waiting TOO long. Might get bored... and you know, idle minds... then we'll think of you in the shower and I just WON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MYSELF I'll get so hott."
Saul made a snerking noise into his hand, shoulders shaking with laughter as he rested his head on the counter to stifle the noise.
"Don't keep me waiting, Abel." Talen finished, waggling his eyebrows.
((hahaha, my thoughts exactly D:< THEY SHOULD ALL SHOWER TOGETHER.))
