((Haha, I try. Oh, he won't, or else certain things we discussed won't happen, remember? Lol.))
Xander nodded, he doubted very much that he would become tired, but kept the offer in mind.

((Gahh. Fine. Here's your roll. Edit: Hey hey, nice roll!))
Xander had been watching for nearly an hour. It was quiet, and it was dark, and it was warm. And mostly, he was bored. Even the highly trained Xander couldn't help feeling drowsy as nature conspired to put him to sleep. From behind him, moving silently and slowly, oozed a familiar black substance, glowing internally with a soft golden light. Xander couldn't see it. He was shifting slightly when the substance shot forward like a snake, slamming into his back and carrying him to the ground. He cried out once before blacking out, hitting the floor with a loud thump. His back pulsed soft golden light through his shirt.

On the floor, Kurtis twitched, remaining asleep.

Connor shot awake. "Xander?!" he cried blindly in the dark. "Kurtis?!"

Kurtis was on his feet in seconds. The reason he slept on the floor was that it was the only way to get himself to wake up easily. On a bed, he slept like a rock, but on a floor, he slept like a... feather?

Tiki slept on, so Connor made it to his feet and felt his way out to the "living room." "Xander?" he called softly in the dark, drawing the handgun he had gotten from Tiki. He couldn't see, so it probably wouldn't do much good, but he felt better this way. There was no answer.

Kurtis stalked into the same room on all-fours. "Connor?" he hissed.

Kurtis furiously attempted to will his pupils to expand to adjust for the darkness. His success was minimal.

Connor took a deep breath. His composure in danger and stress was legendary. He wasn't head of one of the most stressful environments for no reason. He strode into the room, using his photographic memory to avoid hitting objects. He went to where he had last seen Xander and began to feel around for him. "Come help me," he said softly.

Kurtis visualized a simple map of the vertices of the room and navigated around the obstacles to the door.

Connor bumped into him. "Xander!" he said. He grabbed the prone body, feeling his way up to his neck. "He's got a pulse," he said with a relieved sigh. Then he saw the golden tinge. "Oh, damn it."

Kurtis saw it as well. It was the only light source.
"Oh, ********," he muttered as the door swung open, letting in the moonlight.

Connor fell back on his haunches, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "This is getting tedious..." He sighed. "Help me move him. We'll put him with Tiki."

"I got him," Kurtis replied. His back and shoulders whined as he picked up Xander and carried him to Tiki, using a mental map to avoid tripping or bumping into anything.
