Well, everything was being used towards union soldiers. Even Children. Remember they would let teens fight.

They didn't plan on taking the freed slaves marching with them, they wanted to head South, where the slaves needed to was North.

right, staying away from Texas. When slaves were freed two years after the rest of the country.

Well, they were freed in the confederate states first, then the rest of the country.
