Ryu looked and then looked back at Adonijah realizing that the kid did need to sit in order to eat. There was one empty spot left, so taking that as a cue, and figuring this would be for the best. He set Adonijah down in the empty chair.
"Is there anything I can help you with?"

Lin wondered why, personally she didn't think it would hurt for Lothiriel to know exactly how Sir Valdemar first met Aragost or Aldrich as it were. Unless he was worried that her sight might show her something she wasn't supposed to know, which was possible. Even if Sir Valdemar disagreed with Aragost, he would let Aragost have his way....
"Hm.. Maybe there is something about the past that bothers him," Lin suggested and then she changed the subject, "So what are you going to be doing while we're out? I mean... Miyu is probably going to spend time with Aragost and me with Elros... so...."

As Ryu moved to set Adonijah on the chair, the boy's leg muscles tensed slightly, and the moment his feet touched the chair and Ryu let go, he bolted, jumping off the chair and running for the next room.
Adan, Adwin and Alyse all laughed, and even Aliya had to giggle a bit as she rose to her feet to chase after him. "He's smarter than we give him credit for," she laughed.
Lothiriel looked thoughtful. "Well ... I imagine that it would be nice to visit Ulani and Ulrich," she murmured. "I haven't met them yet but Ada stayed with them while he traveled sometimes ... and of course their children, and their grandchildren ... Ada never knew any of them ... I don't think Aliya is much older than I am, come to think of it ..."

Feng laughed at that wrapping her arm around her brother's shoulder, "Poor Ryu, I guess it was hoping too much right?"
She had honestly thought that Adonijah had perhaps found someone he wasn't terrified off. Maybe she should ask Miyu to come play with the kid, two shy ones must do something for each other.

"I think Aliya would like the company," Lin replied thoughtfully, "Feng and Ryu are there too, so you can get to know everyone there. If Adan isn't going off for another lesson in the afternoon then he'll be there. If he isn't.... well I'll probably run into him."
She grinned at that thought having lessons with Adan was fun.

Amdir chuckled softly at Ryu. "I have to admit, though, that's the calmest he's ever been in anyone else's hands before. Manipulative, though. Smart."
"I wonder where he got that from," Aliya's voice drifted in from the living room.
The kids giggled.
Lothiriel beamed. "Yes, that would be nice," she murmured. "And I'm sure you'll have fun with Adanedhel ... he's quite the young man now, isn't he? So knowledgeable ... I'm sure he would like to help you if he can."

Feng had giggle fits right then and there, but even Ryu had to see some amusement in this, "Poor kid," she murmured, "But that was an interesting sight. I was certain he was going to cry or something like he did with mother after he found out that it was her holding him."
She sat back in her chair, and grinned.
"Ah well he has the whole trip to get use to us."

"Maybe he can teach me how to fish.. or something else," Lin smiled with a gleam in her eye.
Okay, even she would have to admit, if she was going to learn to fish that way, she was better of learning how to throw the knife first before trying to fish.

By the time Donovan, Celebor, Daeron and Celeborn had left for their trip (west for the first time since the beginning of the ranch), things had settled down and people were starting to fall into their normal routines ... or rather, as normal as they could get.
Lothiriel had disappeared with Pen to go visit Aliya and Amdir, and Ahren had gone off with Elrohir once more. Shael and Adonai had gone to work on their house (with Adanedhel's help), and the others had basically scattered to do their own thing.
Adonijah, of course, was sitting on the front porch of his house and waiting patiently for Tao to reappear, edging away from Feng and Ryu every time they passed by.

As promised by Feng and Ryu, they watched Tao while Aliya was busy, which was a bit hard because one... Adonijah was still scared of them, and two... Feng was just trying far too hard. She even turned back into a mer to try to play with him thinking that half an animal maybe he would like her better.
Tao also kept her promise by coming back, she ambled out of the forest and towards Adonijah even more thrilled to see Feng and Ryu. She could recall giving those two rides back when they were small. They were the only fish she would never eat, because she never viewed them as fish.
They were funny looking hatchings... or fledglings now.
Kara let the two girls go for the day knowing where they were going to head, Miyu was heading towards the barracks with Lin. She was eager for another visit, visits were always fun. She still hadn't figured out what to make so Aragost could have something in his room, but she was sure she would figure out something. Eventually....

Lin opened the door to the barracks and let Miyu in first before following right afterwards. Even though it was pitch black, she knew the way without even having to look. It would be fair to say... that Lin could find her way with her eyes closed.

Adonijah perked up visibly as Tao came around the corner, pleasure filling his violet-blue eyes. He scrambled to his feet and climbed down the steps to the ground, carefully avoiding Feng and Ryu to the best of his ability, and once he was safe from them (in his eyes - Feng's transformation had scared him even more, though it had also intrigued him) he beelined towards the griffin, arms outstretched.
"Good Tao," he preed at her, running his fingers through the feathers on her neck. "I got something for you again!"
He reached into his tunic and pulled out another piece of meat, this one left over from breakfast.
Aragost was just on his way out of the barracks. For the first time in a while, he had the morning shift, and though he didn't mind them there were times when he preferred other ones. He was robed in his usual black, every identifiable feature hidden in the shadows, his bag over one shoulder, under his cloak, bow in hand.

Tao's ears perked up at the sight of meat, even though technically she already ate. Seriously, this little one made it possible for her not to hunt as much as she use to. She nuzzled Adonijah in thanks before taking the meat and eating it. She loved the sort of meat he brought from the table.
It made her feel special.
Even though Miyu did know her way through the barracks by now, it didn't stop her from taking her light out. It felt more comforting, besides she always worried about running into someone in the hallway if she was not careful. It was a good thing she did, otherwise she might have run into Aragost. Despite his black form, knowing that it was only Aragost who wore black to the point of being hidden, it eased her, because she knew it was him.
"Yami-san!"

Lin looked up at the black form of Aragost, she smiled up at him. She waved at him a bit.
"Good morning," she pipped up.

Adonijah giggled and slipped his arms around Tao's neck, giving her a hug. "Where should we go, Tao?" he asked her softly in clicks and prees. "Maybe around the house for a ride?"
He eyed Feng and Ryu warily over his shoulder. He didn't quite know what to make of them ... those two strange people who could be half-fish when they wanted to be.
Aragost stopped and smiled within the shadows of his cowl. "Good morning, Miyu ..." he murmured softly. "It is ... wonderful to see you again ... and Lin ... hello ... Miyu, I am on my way out to take my shift ... would you like to come with me?"
He held one hand out to the child invitingly.
