Hattie sighed softly, keeping her goodbyes for Eric for a later time. She was almost sure that she'd see him again as she prepared to leave the Hunter Base.

Hattie grabbed Syx's arm. "Tell Eric for me." She didn't have to say it. She wasn't one for sappy goodbyes and hoped that Syx would get the hint. She closed the hatch as Syx left and prepared the Rioreet for launch. "I'm gonna guide us out, Riley and when we get close to the Shiva, release the grappler. We'll snag 'em and take off and hope we can outrun the Gov." She strapped in as Sigil took a seat behind her. Hattie got on the ship's Comm. "This is your Captain speaking. Strap yer a** in! We're in for a ride!"
Syx nodded, "I'll be sure to do so. Good luck Hattie. Thanks for the kitten, and you owe me an invite to that wedding of yours."

Eric looked at Syx.
"And the Captain's the same thing. Just be glad the one who's going to win the firefight is on our side."

Johachim gave a moment's pause, and chuckled.
"Power begets itself, Ora. there are so many humans, and in comparison to other creatures, multiply fast. these beings... Well, they are ageless, and thus, in no real hurry to multiply. From conception to birth is almost two years. They mature at a slow rate, the age of their prime being almost seventy of our years, and are not capable of independent living for almost thirty years after birth. Humanity is safe."

Syx let out a small sigh, but didn't respond. She was partial to cops, being one herself.

"As I said, in the forseeable future, it shouldn't be a problem, but two years, and thirty years, are nothing compared to the years these beings will live." Ora leaned against the wall. "Are they ready to function?"
"Yes, they are. but I have another destination I must go yet. A small planet called Thesys."

Ora tilted her head slightly, "And why Thesys? Feel the need to socialize with murderers and criminals?"

"Thieves and murders are good business."

Hattie's ship took off, headed right for the fleet of Government ships to gain access to the Shiva and the rest of the Rioreet's crew. The Government Ships did not open fire, which Hattie found strange, but she took it as a Win.

"So another business trip, hmm?" Ora asked. She glanced back at the Titans resting in their tubes, the line of her lips tightening slightly. "What sort of business are we talking?"

Before taking the cup, Laurel gave Ruby a searching stare - then her eyes brimmed over with tears. "Auntie, is it really you? She told me..."

Ruby smiled back. "I think it's me. I'd have to ask Arch to be sure, but I'm farely positive. What's wrong, sugar? Who told you what?"
"That...that you were dead...all of you...everyone I'd ever known...'Cept sometimes she'd pretend to be you...to let me think I'd gotten away..." She searched Ruby's eyes again. "I do hope it's really you this time, Auntie."

"Well that's a silly thing for her to make you believe. Nah, sugar, lots of folks are still around. An' I think I'm me, at least I'm fairly positive."
Her eyes full of tears, Laurel threw her arms around Ruby, "Oh, Auntie, I've missed you so!"

((O.o I have no idea where I'm going with this.))
((Really? Randomiszer! biggrin ))

One of the larger ships opened communications with the Rioreet.

"Approaching non-Hunter vessel, stand down of prepare to be..." There was the sound of a man clearing his throat. "Uh, please state your business." There was some commotion in the background. "Your... brother, is it? Cale of the Shiva, that's right. I'm told he attempted to communicate with you earlier, but the ship's comm is malfunctioning. Some mutinous crew-related sabotage when he first came to us, I hear. I'm not sure what he was going to say..." The man sounded suspicious. "...However, I'm sure we can arrange for you to meet him in person so he can finish. Would you mind docking with one of us so he knows where to dock himself? I'm afraid we're at hand gestures and smoke signals at this point, there is no direct contact with the Shiva."

The man on the other end sounded slightly bored and slightly on edge, but for the most part kept a calm, melodic tone in his voice, as if trying to calm a savage animal.

Hattie rolled her eyes. "Hell no. How about that? You let my grapple the Shiva and tow it away and that'll be the end of it." She sat back in her seat and crossed her arms, irritated with the turn of events. Cale had sounded worried on the Comm during capture and when she spoke to him since, he sounded dead. And a Crew Mutiny? Highly doubtful.

There was a crackle as Eric's voice sounded of the comm.
"Are you deaf, dumb, or just like to make me worry meself shitless, woman!? Jesus tits, Let the Cap handle it! He ain't gonna shoot your brother, just let him, and his, wax these wankers, THEN you tow his sorry a**!"

Rolling her eyes had seem to become a common occurance in these past few hours. "Look, even Hunters can't go around blowin' people to s**t, baby!" She yelled over the Comm. "We got no time for games and since your dear Cap is takin' his time, I'm taking care of mine. So, shut yer trap and just hang tight until I get back!"

Riley was almost falling out of her chair in a fit of laughter. She gasped for air at the long distance lover's spat. "You two might as well already be married!"

Hattie glared at Riley and killed all Communication lines as she approached the Government fleet. She was almost within range of the Shiva when there was a hard hit against the right side of the Rioreet. All lines were suddenly cut and the power killed. Hattie was robbed of control as her ship was pulled towards the lead Government ship.

Locks gripped the landing gear of the Rioreet and entrance doors we over-riden. In seconds, Government men, armed and all, were on the ship barking orders. "On your feet and surrender all weapons." Hattie stood up slowly and tossed away her Caster. Riley stood up beside her as Sigil stood up before them in a protective manner. Halise and Hunter were manhandled to the bridge moments later.

"Mad Hattie." A fat, suited man emerged from the throng of armed soldiers. "We've finally got you. Sad to say that your high reward is lost on such officials as we. You've managed to rack up quite a bit of charges, for which you, " He paused with a smirk. "And your Crew will pay for." He took the honor of handcuffing Hattie himself and laid a hard punch to her when she spit a huge snot ball in his face. Each member of the Rioreet was led off of the ship, one by one and into a Government holding cell.

((Yay for stirring up vendettas!!!))

The Siryn was close behind the Rioreet, but made a swerve as the other ship got hit, and then soon began to be boarded. Tu let out a short-clipped breath. "Fancy, Gram, move back to Osis." She glanced back, "Sorry, Pen, you'll have to hitch a ride to Thesys on another ship. Safer to hide back in the hole for now."

In the interceding moments of the Siyren and the Rioreet being boarded, all hell broke loose as Durendal's ships rounded the planet, opening fire on the Fed vessels. Among them was Eric in the Star's Light, a dark lance being trailed by smaller ships detonating from the slew of missiles. Eric closed on the ship with the Rioreet, but kept being deterred by heavy fire, but was once again on the trail.
