Nadeshiko's eyes opened wider when the door opened, and a suspicious look dawned on her face. The woman who opened it was none other than Yuki, but by her calculations, it was virtually impossible for Yuki to move so fast. And didn't she say she had to see off some other students going on a mission? From what Nadeshiko had gathered on the shoreline, the students hadn't even assembled yet by the time she and Aranami had began moving. However, she allowed that to simmer in her mind for the moment, as she couldn't yet think of an answer. She shuffled over to the bathrooms so that she could finally unload the baggage she had been wearing. She slipped into a washroom, shut the door, and slipped three or four carefully folded packaged from her voluminous sleeves. She carefully unrolled her double obi, withdrawing the kunai and shuriken she had stored there earlier. Yes, Nadeshiko's pretty good at hiding and carrying things among her clothes. Another trick of the trade, although her regular organisational skills are dismal. She folded her red kimono into one of the packages, and dressed in her battle uniform, remembering Yuki saying something about wearing something they weren't afraid to get dirty in. She tied up her hair, made sure everything was folded neatly away, and left the bathroom.

The clone merely smiled at Aranami's compliment as he went to wash up. "Alright, darlings," Yuki said, standing by the door the two had come in with a basket of goodies. There were fruits, breads, candies and vegetables in the bamboo basket that she held out for one of the new students to take. "Our weapon smith is over in the housing district working on the new apartments you two will be staying in. His name is Hamma and he's one of the instructors at our Academy. Today is a field class, so you'll be spending your day with him. Please bring this basket to him, so you can snack when you get tired during your hard work," Yuki explained as she passed on the basket. "Just follow the loud crashing noises and you'll find him. I'll be taking my map back now," the woman said with a smile, as she let the two find their way to the housing district merely by using their ears. Once Yuki had her map back, she would return back to the garden where Karite was still training and where she was still awaiting an answer. "Now, why are you leaving all of a sudden?" the woman said repeating her question to the boy.

She couldn't help sniffing (a lot) when Yuki held out a basket of goodies. She may be small and thin, but she was an absolute glutton. Those who have seen her around a whole roasted chicken will gladly recount their tales of Nadeshiko's voracious eating habits. It took a lot of self-control for her not to be drooling on the floor already. She took the bamboo basket, holding it like it would explode any moment. She tried to pay attention to what Yuki was saying, and nodded her head. Village weaponsmith. Housing district. That was great. Taking map back. Maybe not so great. Nadeshiko handed the folded piece of paper back over, and hoped that this Hamma was very, very loud indeed. Nadeshiko skipped out the front door of the Tenmoki house with basket in hand, this time not bothering to wait for Aranami.

[Entrance from Shoreline]

Akiko quickly hurried up to her room. Her robes were heavy, wet, and particularly cold; the sooner she could be rid of them, the better. Once inside her room, she disrobed with very little ceremony. The clothes made a wet slapping sound as they hit the floor. Akiko grabbed a towel and began to dry herself off. About this time, she began to slow down a bit. She couldn't help but think about what just happened. As unbelievable as it was, and even in spite of her scientific mindset, she knew it had happened--without question. She had met someone very special to her underneath the waves. But, what did this mean? She supposed, then, that whoever it was... and the name was on the tip of her tongue, she swore it was... that person didn't belong there. Then what's the significance of that? She couldn't place it immediately, so she started to analyze her thoughts. If he wasn't supposed to be there, then perhaps he's supposed to be elsewhere but simply wasn't. To make himself appear under the ocean, in precisely the same location where she was almost drowning, it would've taken an incredible amount of effort and an uncanny prescience. There was only one explanation as to how this could occur, which would mean...

"I see," Akiko concluded aloud, her voice quite quiet but tinted with a vast array of emotions. "You... you were always there, weren't you?" She glanced out the window as she slipped into the dress she had selected. "I wanted to look for you, to find out for myself, but... in my heart, I already knew, didn't I? I had just hid it from myself. But why reveal it to me like that?" She tied a sash around her waist and ran her fingers through her hair a few times. Then, lying down on the bed, she continued, "If I don't need to look anymore, then... you wanted me to live for myself, didn't you? That's why you left in the first place. I... I still want to look for you--to find out what really happened, but..."

Somehow, her kunai had found its way into her hands. She looked at it and turned it over, tossing it from one hand to the other. "...but I'm not a kid anymore. I need to be strong on my own, don't I? Then... I will. I won't let my past hold me down any longer." With that, she looked down at the bottom hem of her dress. It was excessively long, it got caught in nearly everything, and her other ones were stained and torn from all the training she had undergone. If she was getting rid of the past and the burdens she was carrying, she might as well get rid of this, too. She took her kunai and began to cut around the bottom of her dress. She left enough of it to hit just above her knees, but the bottom edge was now jagged and unwinding. She moved on to the sleeves, getting rid of all the cloth that hung below the elbow. When she was done, she looked kinda scruffy, but she felt a lot lighter and freer. She noticed her hair was long, too, but... no, the dress alone might freak her aunt out. She didn't want to cause a heart attack. So, she left it at that and headed downstairs. She immediately sought out her aunt to tell her she was heading off to training, but there was still something else she had to say. There was something on her mind--a question burning inside her that she had to get out once and for all. She walked up to her aunt and folded her hands in front of her. "My daddy's dead... isn't he?" she asked.

Aranami washed himself up as quickly as he could, trying to listen to what Yuki was saying, kinda able to hear her while lightly scrubbing his body. Quietly repeating the instructions to himself so he'd remember as he dried himself off, he checked how wet his clothes were, and was surprised to find them dry for the first time in a while. "Finally, a dry set of clothes." He muttered to himself as he changed, than opened the door to the bathroom carefully, and walked out of the house. Once out the front door, he bolted across the path in the garden as fast as he could, waving goodbye to Yuki as he did so. Once out of the garden, Aranami listened for the so-called large crashing noises, and heard them quite clearly. Once he was sure of the direction they were coming from, he bolted out towards them, still glad he wasn't doing the paperwork yet, and wondering where Nadeshiko went, since she had the food.

[Enter Yuki from Shoreline.]

When Yuki came inside the house, she took a peek into the garden to see that her clone was still watching over Karite's training. It didn't seem that they were getting far. She also noted the crate that Aranami had brought. She was glad to see that the new members of the village were off to work so quickly. She'd have to prepare a profile scroll for that drifter. An assessment of his abilities would have to be done during class. Today would be a good day to inspect his stamina and strength while they rebuilt the apartment. Changing quickly, transferring her items into a clean lab coat, Yuki was re-dressed in a matter of minutes. As she was writing out the scroll, Akiko came back from downstairs. Usually Yuki would scold her for a tattered outfit, but they would be getting dirty today! She was caught off-guard rather quickly when Akiko asked her question. Looking at the girl with her full attention and softening her usually hard emerald eyes, Yuki nodded. "Yes, my darling," the woman stated, knowing the story of her father and the false hopes that Midori sometimes had that he was still alive. "Your mother still hopes though," Yuki added in as she rolled up the scroll. The woman didn't say more than that and didn't care to explain more. Akiko would find out on her own once the day came where she visited the mainland once again. Just like Aya was noble to Ichi, who was a father to her more than Koro, Akiko would become dedicated to her father's memory as well. She'd find the truth and exact justice on those involved one day. That's what Yuki hoped for the girl. "I'll be heading to the Housing District now then. You're free to come and help, but you're not obligated to. If you do find that you need me, darling, you'll know where to find me," Yuki said as she gathered her things and headed out the door.

Even though Akiko was dying to ask, she already knew the answer. She just needed to hear it. She didn't want to hold on to his memory forever just to become disappointed later. She knew her mother was holding out hope, but she didn't even know what to say to her--if she could. She had nearly forgotten that depressing fact. Somehow, though, Akiko felt... calmer, in a way. It was as if her soul had finally found some sort of peace. She was okay with the fact that her father was dead--she didn't mind. She had lived for years without him already... though, it wasn't a happy thought that he was gone. Her father had gone through great lengths to encourage his daughter to live her own life, so it wouldn't honor his memory to focus on that. Instead, at her aunt's request, she went off to resume her training.

Karite was a little low on chakra already. The beads of sweating forming on his forehead were a good indication. He didn't have a lot of chakra but he had a lot of heart and he wasnt going to stop her that quickly. Looking up to the clone as eh stood straight up. He was determined to show Yuki his full spirit. Nothing would make him bow down to anyone. For Maya and for Shima he would always stand tall. His gennin exams did teach him something about himself he would carry.

As Yuki-sempai's clone spoke the same question she did he knew he would have to answer. Tategami business was however still Tategami business and as big as his mouth was this was something that Maya would have to discuss with Tenmoki-san. "I apologize Yuki-sempai, but I am not the one who should speak of the matter. I should not have spoken to hastily at my arrival. All I can say is that it is Tategami business and shall be handled as requested by Tategami. Four Tategami can handle a few samurai." Karite breathed in deeply as he felt a slight spike in his chakra. He would have to use this jutsu as a last resort. If he used it to early it could cost him greatly.

Yuki's eyebrows narrowed at Karite's secluded answer. "You will tell me every detail as to why you are going to the mainland to take on samurai or you will not be welcomed back to this village, young man," the stern Anbu said in quite an upset tone. She was no longer tolerating shinobi coming and going as they please. This was the reason why Shimagakure's location was no longer hidden. It was the ruling hand in enemies attacking the village.

Karite was far from surprised at the reaction he had received from Yuki-sempai. She was an Anbu sworn to protect this islands inhabitants and secrets, but after the samurai declaring war on all shinobi is was no surprise as to why she was so stressed. Standing Firm Karite tried his best to act like a gennin. It was hard considering he didn't feel like one. "We received a letter late last night. Telling us that Shuga had been away teaching others the way of the Tategami. While away it seemed she had also been fighting some samurai. Well eventually the bastards got the better of her...Shuga is dead Tenmoki-san." Karite paused for a moment wondering how Maya was taking this. if he ever found out anything had happened to the Tenshi family he would probably crack. "We are going to the mainland to help the new Tategami clan establish their land before the samurai move in on it and to say our goodbyes to Shuga before we seek revenge on ever last samurai who could have done this." Karite was now balling his fist. His emotions had once again began to blind his control. A strong growl from Kore quickly suppressed that. As he let his fingers point down towards the green grass and his dead silver eyes look onto Yuki-sempai. "Those are just my emotions getting the better of me. What Nee-chan actually has planned might be completly different then my imagination."

Kore listened as Karite spoke of the large breasted woman. She was no longer with them. She had been gone for some time so it was only natural to assume a stronger beast did her in. She had taught Kore much in the ways of the Tategami, but now it seemed like she was with her partner in a better place full of the sake she loved so much. As he watched Karite's body he noticed his paws were beginning to clench tight and turn white. Growling at the boy Kore was telling him to call himself before things got out of hand. He was an emotional boy, but he acted better on pure instinct.

Karite looked over at Kore out of the corner of his eye. He had that look of thanks. Kore kept his perspective clear. Just likes his eyes may give the impression of blindness his emotions some times made it so. Frustration and anger were simple emotions, he held on to them like the marks on his body. all visible for everyone to see. Kore however could see through them and stop them from rising to high. Kore was a very perceptive creature and a blessing to have around. Now was a great time for him to be here as well. Facing Yuki-sempai was hard enough alone, but was easier with Kore here. "Yuki-sempai, is it ok if Kore gets something to eat, he still is recovering from yesterday?"

Karite was feeling better. Most of his chakra was back and he almost had enough to try the jutsu again. He was almost certain he understood what went wrong the first time. Getting distracted with everything around him and Yuki-sempai's questioning didn't help either. He had one thing in mind and that was finishing his training and getting his friend feed. When he finished both he would be ready to board the boat to the mainland and then he would be more than capable of taking on anything that came his way with Kore by his side. Maya was strong but so was he. Karite was just as much Tategami as Maya and Baki were.

Karite was feeling his chakra reach his fingertips quicker now. The weak feeling from before was gone and his body had cooled considerably since the jutsu. Now that he was regaining his chakra maybe he could concentrate on pulling off the jutsu. he just had to focus on the earth. Mold his chakra into it. Make the clone's body full of his own chakra like its blood. If he could just remember what Yuki-sempai taught him yesterday then he would be on the perfect track for the future.

Karite feel the last bit of chakra he was going to need to perform this jutsu. If he managed to perform it right this time he wouldnt have enough to keep the jutsu going though. He really wished he had some of Yuki's famous candies. Those always seem to hit the spot when he was running low on chakra. He would have to hope for the best and hope he had enough time to rest up and try again before Maya wanted to leave.
