Rhaim kept pushing passed the mental images of his last ordeal with genjutsus in order to finish reading up on the history of the Magen Narakumi. He didn't find it all that interesting, which was mostly attributed to his reading to finish reading and not to contemplate what he was going over. If he had had any presence of mind over his situation he would have congratulated himself on his suppression abilities. As it was though he was still quite nervous and still visibly shaking all over his body. Though his hands had relaxed just a bit in order to continue opening the scroll as he read through it. He was also gaining a steadier control over his breathing despite his mouth being wide open for breaths instead of using his nose.

Rhaim had made a noteworthy amount of progress considering the sporadic breathing and violent shaking that he was undergoing. The which finally caught up to the boy and caused him to have to simply shut his eyes tightly to escape the words on the scroll. He could only take in so much of the thing at once before his memories and fears began to surface once more. With his eye still closed the young Nara took a long deep breath and pushed his chair back away from the table. He then threw his hands behind his head, opened his eyes and slowly paced around the table a couple of times. After clearing his head just enough the teen took his seat once again and placed a hand on either edge of the scroll. Though it was difficult to stomach, he wanted to finish the reading.

Rhaim had found something akin to a groove it seemed as to how much reading he could get done before his gut instincts towards genjutsus kicked in. How long though periods that he couldn't stand to see the words on the scroll was something that he hadn't quite got down however. At any rate the teen had managed to force himself over yet another portion of the history of how the Magan Narakumi had come into existence. From what he could gather into between trying to calm himself down was that it had once been a closely guarded technique owned by a clan of genjutsu specialists. He would never understand how one could want to specialize in shaping the minds of others.

Rhaim was once again overwhelmed by the nervousness that he held in regard to genjutsus. His eyes stared blankly down at the words on the scroll, not wanting to have anything to do with its' contents. The young Nara Genin had other plans though and they would not succeed unless he could press on through the reading. What was worse still was the knowledge that it wasn't all suddenly over once he read through the scroll once. He would have to read through it again as he copied its' text down onto a blank scroll for himself. The library after all wasn't exactly a conducive training environment for learning jutsus. For this one in particular he knew he would need some other creature around to use it on.

Rhaim was still in no frame of mind to be trying to press on with his poorly thought up endeavor. As he went to reach for the scroll, the shaking of his hands caused him to launch the object across the floor. With a sigh the boy hung his head briefly before sluggishly raising himself up from his seat. Despite the fact that he was well on his way past the half way portion of the scroll, he was beginning to think that he had bit off more than he could chew. After several slow heavy steps the teen finally reached down and retrieved the thrown item. He simply held the scroll in his hand staring at it for a few seconds, waiting for the violent shaking in his hands to cease. The look on his face had turned to one of tired frustration, though more so at his inability to control his emotions and body than his inability to read the scroll.

Rhaim had steadily begun the process to collect his wits enough to press on through the words of the scroll. He had actually just started reading up on the section that explained the true inner workings of the jutsu itself. As opposed to using his chakra to manipulate himself and his perception, the genjutsu principle was to alter the perception of the target. It reminded him a bit of the Henge no Jutsu except that the earlier Academy lesson was conducted using his chakra to mask himself. Whereas if it had been true genjutsu the chakra would have been used directly on the opponent to change the way all of his or her senses responded to the technique. The Hell Viewing Technique was more than just seeing a distortion in the air, it was truly feeling as if they were experiencing the event.

Rhaim was somehow able to get himself engrossed in the actual contents of the scroll enough to carry on with the reading. The which had gone on to explain just how one should mold their chakra, which handseals to use, and what sorts of things to concentrate on. What caught the boy as most surprising was the fact that the jutsu did not require any sort of eye contact at all. In theory it was something that he could do to someone before they even were aware of his presence. That was of course if he ever bothered to get any sneakier. That was one area that he was rather embarrassed about coming up short in. His small stature and meager strength were things that he could overlook considering how seldom height and raw punching power were needed. With his thoughts sidetracking the teen continued to read the text.

Rhaims' nervous shaking had all but ceased as his eyes scanned over the words of the scroll. He was deep in thought and contemplation over what it was that he was reading, both so that he could learn it and so he could begin thinking of different methods for which to use it. While just knowing the genjutsu made him a more valuable asset to a team, knowing how to employ it in a variety of situations only made him that much more useful. The last thing that the boy wanted was to come back from a mission with his allies feeling that he had little to nothing to contribute. Meanwhile the text on the parchment carried on about how the genjutsu itself was fairly indiscriminate in that it worked by seeking out the images that would be most painful to the victim. The user would not necessarily have any idea what their opponent was seeing.

Rhaim was actually as calm as he normally was by the time he came to the end of the scroll. He was so busy developing tactics in his mind on how to employ what he was reading that he completely lost sight of his fear. As the boy leaned back in his seat, that revelation was not at all lost on him. He let out a sigh as he stared up at the ceiling, realizing just how little he had to be afraid of with genjutsu. It was no more life threatening than a shuriken flying at his face or a bowl of poisoned ramen. Whether or not something could be lethal was no reason for him to run from it, but rather for him to understand it. With a bored look on his face and a shrug the teen leaned down and open up the backpack placed beside the table. In a short time he had all of the supplies out that he needed to copy the scroll over.

Rhaim was still enthralled with simply reading over the words of the scroll without flinging it across the room. So much so that he began reading over it all again without trying to copy down any of the information to his own scroll. Since his first time doing the task the teen had developed his own shorthand for writing down the instructions. It was a series of abbreviated words and little symbols that made sense in his own messed up mind. This accomplished two things that the boy had found to be issues previously. First it made it easier for him the understand the contents of what he had been reading after he walked away from them since it was in his own words. Second it safeguarded the information to a degree from others in the event that he lost control of the scroll.

Rhaim had begun his tedious task of both deciphering the main points of the text on the original scroll and then transferring it over to his own scroll. His right hand scribbled away as his left hand traced over the lines that he was bringing over. This job was far more familiar to the boy and not something that would likely bring up his fears. Less so because of his recent resolution to the mortality that he held regardless of his affinity for genjutsu. The ink of his pen formed strange characters, partial words, and everyday symbols that only the strange teen could fully grasp at first glance. While it was by no means a complex system to hide the contents, it wasn't a direct translation either. The which only further gave him a better ability to protect what was written on it.

Rhaim had again managed to get more absorbed in reading what he had in front of him instead of actually copying it down like he was supposed to. With a sigh the boy leaned back in his chair and looked up at the clock high up on the wall. To his surprise it was getting rather late and he had managed to spend his time away from the barracks yet again. Since there were missions that went out to people on a moments notice, it did not behoove him to be wasting the entire day in the library. The teen sighed once more and set about packing up his things and placing the genjutsu scroll back up on the shelf. He resolved yo the idea that he would have to come back and finish his work another day. Until then he should find the new guy, Felix, and see if he had missed anything.

Rhaim led the duo into the library and gave the man behind the front counter a slight nod. To the which the man only lifted his eyes and continued on with his work behind the counter. The teen made his way back to the rooms for jutsu scrolls and reached back into his utility. However he was stopped prematurely by the shinobi at the door in green combat vest and standard blue uniform. With the door opened for them, Rhaim walked inside before explaining anything to Felix, "Obviously the jutsu scrolls aren't just open to anyone. This first room is just Genin rank techniques. Down the hall is a door to the higher ones."

Feeling his brief introduction to the library to be sufficient, though it likely wasn't, the Nara Genin moved quickly to the shelf with the Magen Narakumi and retrieved it. He then took it to one of many small desks in the middle of the room. Without giving any guidance to Felix he pulled off his backpack, took out his own scroll and pen, and sat down to get right to work. He fully expected the other boy to simply be bored and upset with him, so he set out both scrolls to begin copying immediately.

Felix Silverlight

[Enter from first platoon]

Felix followed Rhaim into the library and nodded to the various Ninja that they passed... shrugging helplessly at the one Jounin and following after Rhaim past him. He watched silently as the other boy took a scroll and sat down, starting to copy from it.
...Felix pulled up a chair after a moment, taking a seat across from the other guy and looking down to watch his lap... clasping his hands there. He didn't know if talking was allowed in this library... but he knew that Rhaim would probably get to him when he felt like it... and Konoha didn't seem to be in any sort of rush so this was ok.
Actually... Felix was kind of getting fed up with thinking about what 'konoha' wanted. At this rate, he figured he would turn into a very selfish person... and it would only be faster if he couldent display patience and wait on Rhaim.

Felix Silverlight

There was a large, ancient looking leather bound book on the table in front of Felix... and it seemed that someone had simply left it there, forgotten to put it back up on a shelf probably. Either way it looked rather interesting to Felix, he had never seen such a book before, and it had an interesting looking crest on the front cover that he could not make out in any definable way.
"..Hmm..." Felix reached forward, sliding the book closer to himself over the desk and leaning forward a little to blow on it... sending a small cloud of dust into the air.
