KTweirdchick Junimaia ...that one's news to me. Only massive movement I heard of lately was the Day of Silence ...I believe that one involved gay rights. we had a gay rights thing the past wednesday.. but it wasn't silence... groups gave out these vibrantly colored shirts that said "Gay? Fine by me." it was crazy, I guess they started giving them out on monday at 7am and they were gone by like 9 eek school was very colorful that day...but it was really cool
Other than that, all I remember is a year or two ago when disney did a similar thing, they invited anyone who was gay or supported gay rights to wear red in the park for a whole week that was cool too, especialy becuase I went with (what was then) my boyfriend and he wore a red shirt without knowing what it meant there and was feeling all awkward all day because these flamboyant guys would smile at him as if they knew something...he was very homophobic about, actually... xp needless to say, he's no longer my boyfriend... 3nodding Our student body president is gay and he organized the Day of Silence for everyone. A lot of people took it as a joke though, to not answer the teachers they would just right on the chalkboard that they're protesting. I couldn't do it because I had a book club meeting and I needed to speak but two of my friends did it.

I couldn't do it because I had a book club meeting and I needed to speak but two of my friends did it.we had something similar to that in highschool...be would have a program every other year called "every 15 minutes" or something like that...which I guess is how often a car accident happens because of drunk driving. The police department and the ASB made re-inactmen of what it looks like just after a car accident out on the street in front of our school (this street was blocked off all day long and it was busy street, you had people from near by houses coming to look because they didn't know what was going on) and this was a seriously realistic accident scene, it was scary. Then they had someone dress up as death, not cheesy or anything, just a simple black robe and a big hood, hiding their face completely. And every 15 minutes that whole day "Death" would walk into a classroom containing mostly Juniors and Seniors (because they're the ones that could drive) and "death" would take someone. My sister helped with it because she was in the Advanced drama class and they were asked to help; "death" would take these kids and they'd go quietly from the class and go up to the ASB office and get face make-up to make them look all pale and deathly. Then they'd go back to class and weren't alloud talk for the rest of the day. It was like they were ghosts. I'm assuming they asked the ghost people before that day came around, because, for a bunch of them, their parents would come down to the school and they would be bawling out by the fake accident, talking to the poice officers and the ambulence people. It was a very serious but very cool program. I think all highschools, especially those in big cities, should do it... 3nodding
