The Fairy Sprite Forgets....

Tinania lay on the stretcher deep in sleep. It had been a a rough night for her as well as a rough morning. But it seem the pain in her head had finally subsided. She seem peacefully sleeping as if nothing had ever happen to her.

The only evident that she was truly hurt was her destroyed dress where the blades had ripped through the fabric. And the blood that was in her hair.

Her fingers moved alittle as she was slowly awoke from her slumber. She hadn't opened her eyes just yet, but she was slowly coming to.

Surion never once left her side, as much as he wanted to hunt the one he suspected down and kill him, something he'd long before promised he would. His eyes were closed though he was wide awake, he was murmuring words in a foreign tongue. It was not dragonic, nor was it Elven.. '...Deingej kigl sienow Kalika' . He held her hand, his thumb running slowly along the metal of the ring on her hand

Tinania heard the voice, but it wasn't registering to her as she she moans opening her eyes slowly. She had a blink a few times as she lifts her hands to rub her eyes alittle. Wincing slightly she frowns as she looks around "Where am I...?" she looked down at her hand when she feels a finger running along one of her own.

Arching a brow slightly she didn't say anything as it looked like she was sleeping. Biting her bottom lip she coughs when she tastes the blood on her lips.

Surion opens his eyes and looks at her smiling softly "At the Haven Nani" he replies "I'm glad to see you awake... How are you feeling?" ok he was worried, and rambling a little, but his concern for her was obvious in his voice

Sitting up slowly she winces rolling her shoulders back, she felt like she had been knocked out for ages. Looking over at Surion she smiles alittle as she lifts her hand through her hair "I feel like I've been asleep for ages..." she pauses looking around again "The Haven? Am I suppose to know what that is or you for that matter...And who Nani?" she looks at him with a confused face, she didn't seem to know him or this place that he was talking about.

"The Haven... where you were born and raised... " his voice caught his eyes looking at her wishing it wasn't those words he had heard... but he knew he couldn't be dreaming her saying them... "Nani is you... Tinania Callista DarkAngel... And I'm Surion your... mate and fiance he nearly whispered the words, it hurt to have to explain that

Tinania looked down at her hands looking at the rings, shaking her head she places her hand to her head "None of this sound familiar to me...your my fiance?" she looks over at him "Your kidding right?" she shakes her head then winces again placing both hands on her head "What the hell has happen to me?" she looks over her ruined dress.

She didn't like this at all, not only was this guy next to her claiming to be a fiancee to her. But she was in a place that wasn't familiar to her at all. Looking back up she frowns looking at the young man "I want some answer, and I want away from this place.."

Surion opened his mouth and closed it again his eyes looking frantically at her "Oh Visha no..." he whispers dark pink tears slipping down the flesh of his cheeks, moving his right hand to put it atop of hers. "You were attacked..." he says quietly

Tinania looked down as his hand sat on top of hers, she looked at the ring seeing the name he had spoken. Looking back up she pulls her hand away from his. Her face soften as she saw the pink tears running down his face. Something about it made her heart feel sadness and the need to want to hold him.

Wincing again she looks away from him, placing both hands on her head once more "I was attacked? That would explain why I look like I've been through hell and back. But it still doesn't explain who you are or why I'm here." she looks back at him as she wrapped her arms around her waist in almost a protecting manner.

"I...." he couldn't say it again, he just couldn't try and explain who he was... again... his eyes search her for a glimmer of hope "Mela..." he whispers, looking at his now empty hand. "You were brought here to be healed... and get better" he whispered in Elven and brought his hand to his face. half hoping to just block the whole thing out... start over, turn back the clock

Tinania frowns laying back down as she looked back up at the ceiling, when he started speaking in a tongue she didn't understand it only made her even more confused. Shaking her head she pushes the covers away from her body climbing off the stretcher.

Stumbling alittle she places her hand on a nearby chair closing her hands. Her body although fully healed was not yet strong enough to handle everything "I gotta get away...I gotta go somewhere where everything makes sense.."

Surion heard her get up "Nani, no love... you have to let yourself get strength back... please..." he got up following her trying to get her to sit... or lie back down.

Tinania looks over her shoulder at him shaking her head before she nearly fell to her knees "I don't need to lie down, I just woke up....I need to get away from this place..." stumbling forward she falls to her knees this time breathing hard.

"Nani please" he begged her as he carefully scooped her into his arms "Please love" he didn't want her hurt any more, and on top of that, he didn't want her to leave

Tinania stiffen when he scoops her up holding her in his arms. She wanted to push away from him, but deep inside her this just felt right to her. Looking up at him she tilts her head biting her bottom lip "You keep saying love like we been lovers..." she looked over his face almost like she was searching in hopes she find an answer.

He sets her on the stretcher again "We are... have been since new years" he says quietly moving a free hand to push her bangs from her face. "And... you agreed to marry me... a few weeks ago" his heart felt like it was in a vise it was hurting so badly just then

Tinania looks down closing her eyes when she see the sadness once more on his face "I don't remember any of what you are saying.. I'm sorry...but I don't even know you...." she sighs then opens her eyes looking away from him.

Surion doesn't know what to say to her, Visha I wish I was dreaming he thinks to himself more tears sliding over his cheeks "I wish... I wish I had your powers, your ability to wish something ... and make it so" he whispers staying beside of her

Tinania looks over at him then lifting her hand she lightly brushes the tears from his cheeks then frowns "I sorry I'm causing you this pain. I don't know why but it hurts to see you like this...." moving she sits up again shaking her head "This thing so uncomfotable..."

Surion leans his head slightly into her hand as her fingers touch his face. "I know a .. more comfortable place to rest" he says softly "If you'd like that"

Tinania arches a brow biting her bottom lip for a moment before nodding "Please, I would rather not lay on this thing any longer. It hurts like crazy..." she gives him a small smiles before looking down at her lap, she was still trying to sort everything out that had happen.

She couldn't seem to remember anything, none of her family, pets, friends. It was all just blank to her.

Surion nods and again scoops her up, holding her carefully and yet close at the same time, her closeness as he sid was the only thing that kept him from completely breaking down right then and there. And quietly he slipped from the room, avoiding anywhere where others might be heading for her bedroom, the one she had occupied before she had moved into their house together. "Your old bedroom" he whispers using his back to push open her door as he carried her in.

Tinania looked around the room licking at her bottom lip only to gag again. Lifting her hand up to her mouth she tries to wipes the dry blood from her lips. Frowning she looks around once more, none of it was familiar to her at all. "This was my room? Why is it so bare?" she looks at him searching his eyes for something she would know.

"Because you live with me... in our house, the house your mum and my mum had built for us" he tells her and sets her down "Please don't run" he whispers and leaves her, walking into the bathroom to get a cloth with warm water

Watching him walk away she looks at the bed running her fingers lightly over the covers. Looking back around the room she sighs shaking her head, no matter how hard she tried none of it seem familiar to her.

Stepping away from the bed she walks slowly over to the closet opening it to look at the clothes that were hanging. She kept looking over the blue sweat jacket and pants with white spaghetti top. It seem something very comfortable to wear and at this point she just wanted out of the torn clothes.

Surion returns and moves closer he gently wiped the cloth across her cheek and the corner of her lips, softly humming the story song she had sung for him when he was a toddler "Let me help you get the dress undone, and you could slip those on and be comfortable, it looks like you hadn't gotten to change from work when... it happened" he says softly

Tinania looks at him arching a brow slightly hearing the song he was humming. She couldn't put a finger on it, but she knew that song from somewhere. Shaking her head she turns lifting her hair off her back at she looked over her shoulder alittle at him "That song you were humming, where did you learn it?"

He hands her the cloth so she can finish cleaning her face "From you, you sung it to me when I was a toddler, used your magic and your wand and even made a little projection of sorts of a princess and a knight I think it was" his fingers moved with practiced ease in undoing her dress following it's edges up with his finger tips pushing it off her shoulders

Tinania without thinking about it shrugs as she holds the dress close to her body "They were dancing...telling a tale of love...." she stops speaking as she shook her head trying to figure out where that had come from.

Turning back towards him she looks at Surion for a moment before looking back biting her bottom lip. "Maybe I should get dress...." her voice was barely above a whisper.

"Thats right" he says and steps away and sits on the edge of her bed "You sang it to me to get me to sit down since Celia and Tari were asleep... sunbathing" he says not exactly looking at her, though he did from the corner of his eyes

Tinania thought over the two names he spoke before wincing again. Shaking her head she sighs "I don't remember...any of that...." she was starting to get upset that everything he was telling her just didn't seem to come to her mind telling her it was truth.

Looking down at the ground she bites her bottom lip before turning to the closet to grab up the clothes. She didn't really think about it as she let the dress fall away from her body.

As she pulled her hair over left shoulder, there on her right shoulder blade was a panther paw print with a small panther in white laying in the middle of it. It was the mark that replaced the markings that were once of her back.

Grabbing the sweatpants she pulls them on as she grabbed the white spaghetti top next to pull it on next.

Surion watches and quirks a brow slightly at the panther... he'd ask her mother later... He decided maybe he should shut up on the toddler story and just sat there looking at his hands humming softly the one tune he loved to hum... though he doubted, as much as it hurt his heart, that she'd remember and return the tune

Turning back to look at him she listens to the next song he was humming. It was another song that caught her attention, but she didn't understand why. Wincing she places her hand on her head shaking her head "Okay that enough of thinking..." she stumbles alittle having to place her hand on the wall. She was still very weak even if she didn't look it.

"Nani..." Surion says softly and gets up and walks to her slipping his arm around her waist to give her support "Come lie down" he says leading her towards the bed, hoping she wouldn't argue or fight it

Looking up at him she frowns slightly, she didn't really want to lay down, but with the way her body was acting she knew it would be better to not argue. Crawling up onto the bed she lays her head on the pillow looking up at the ceiling, with a sigh she looks over at him frowning slightly "I feel like I'm lost with no where to go..."

"You have right here, with your family, or our house with me...... but for now you need rest love, rest so you can get better... and maybe remember" he sits on the edge of hte bed, being as strong as he possibly could... even though even that was a front, a front to hide how it was tearing him up inside... and without any more words he hums softly one more time, the tune she'd more then once told him was a spell to make the listener sleep

Tinania yawns alittle rubbing at her eyes like a little child "Sleep is always good..." she looks at him for a moment as her eyes slowly drifted close "Please stay with me...."

"Always love...." he whispers and looks up at the ceiling, continuing his humming softly and closes his eyes letting the tears roll freely down his face... He thought nothing could get worse then that... having his love, the most important person in his life... Not know him...

As she drifted off to sleep her body seem to reach out to him as she moved closer to wrapping an arm around his waist as her head rested on his chest. She seemed peaceful once more and in her sleep her body seem to know she was suppose to be in his arms.

Surion waited till he felt her breathing slow and steady, till he knew she was completely asleep before carefully slipping from her arms and floating off the bed and out her door... leaving her door open... he couldn't deal with it anymore... He puts his feet on the floor and walks through the haven winding up in the dining room. He leans against the table supporting himself with his hands letting the tears flow, he knew only ones in the house would be from Nani's side of the family, his mum had gone for the day to return when she was called... After a few minutes he just broke down sobbing and sinking to his knees beside the table

Tinania slowly opens her eyes looking around, she was trying to figure out what happen to the young man that never left her side from the moment she had woken up the first time. Sitting up slowly she looks around the room before looking down at her hands.

She looked at the first one, it was the ring with his name on it, she had saw earlier he had one with the name he kept calling her by. Then she looked at the other one on her left hand. Shaking her head she sighs "Why can't I remember anything?!?!?" she was getting upset with herself, she felt so helpless that she didn't know anyone around her, and this alone scared her.

Climbing out of the bed slowly she walks over to the balcony looking out over the forest. Biting her bottom lip she looked back inside. Maybe if she left it would solve everything, she would hurt anyone and she could maybe get away and find someplace to think.

Climbing carefully over the railing she hung from it for a few minutes before dropping to the ground. Shaking her head she looks back up making sure no one was coming before she turned running into the forest. She didn't know why but for some reason she knew that there was a place there that would be able to help her.

He didn't hear her, he didn't move, Visha why was everything landing on him like this... He moved a hand to his chest feeling like someone was squeezing his lungs again, which in turn made his breathing difficult again and slightly labored, he knew he needed to calm... but it was so difficult

Coming to a stop she places her hand on the nearest tree catching her breath. She didn't know what had convince her to run but now she was paying for it because of how weak she was.

Looking around she closes her eyes as she heard a faint humming, it was sort of like the first tune that Surion had hummed to her. Looking around carefully she bites her bottom lip not sure if she go looking around or return to the manor.

Surion pushed himself slowly to his feet, and slowly headed back towards her room, he'd told her he'd stay... It wasn't too long before he reached her room... only to find it empty "Nani" he says his voice called, and then called again more desperately as he looked around the room and then her bathroom. "No!!" he cried out loudly blaming himself for her leaving... He knew she wanted to leave, he shouldn't have left her alone, he drops to his knees in the middle of her room with a loud 'thud' not caring how hard he hit the floor... and he sobbed harder, clutching his shirt and not trying to muffle his sounds

Search for Nani Part 1: Silver
To say Surion was frantic would be the understatement of the century, He parked his bike haphazardly near the elevator to the 3rd floor and the staff entrance and ran in. He repeatedly pressed 3, over and over and over until the elvator door shut and ascended to the 3rd floor.

Once there he ran to the room and swiped his card "Nani!" he called out running from room to room in search of her, but as he dreaded, it was empty, and obviously hadn't been used since the last time he was at work as his clothing was still on the bed where he'd tossed it to get ready for work.

"Oh Visha Nani... where are you?" he says standing in the center of the room chewing on his bottom lip. After a moment he leaves the unit and closes it behind him and returned to the elevator, swiping his card he pressed the button to the lower level so he could go find Silver...

Silver was working on a stack of paperwork, signing checks, and generally just doing the day to day running of the club. There were orders to be filled, letters to send out, and events to plan. He looked up as he heard the elevator stop on the basement floor, wondering who it could be. Only things down here was his office and the utilities room. He stood and opened his office door, looking down the hallway.

Surion took a step off the elevator looking left and right to remember which way to go, seeing Silver standing there was a pretty sure-fire sign which way he should be going. Stepping in Silver's direction he spoke, "Silver... Uhm.. you haven't seen Nani have you by any chance at all?" he sounded hopeful though inside he couldn't think of any reason she might be around the wolfman.

Blinking, he stepped out into the hallway, inkpen still in hand. "No Surion, I havn't seen her in a while. Why? Something happen?" Silver's voice was full of concern, and his hand twitched towards where he used to keep his sword, biting his bottom lip...

"Yeah, uhm... she's missing" he says shifting from foot to foot. The teen blamed himself for her disappearance, though he had yet to tell anyone she'd lost her memory... and honestly didn't want to just yet.

"How? What happened?" Silver swore under his breath, and threw the inkpen into the office. "Anything I can help with? Anyway I can help at all?" He stepped out into the hallway, looking around and thinking, claws clenched into fists.

"She was attacked... and uhm.. she left the manor after she regained consciousness..." he looks upwards at the tall man. "I don't know where she went Silver, she's not upstairs, and not in the manor..." he intended to ask anyone he could think of if they'd seen her though right then he didn't know how high he should hold his hopes...

"Then all you can do is keep looking" He clapped a hand on the young man's shoulder, giving a faint smile. "You have all the time off you need till this is resolved. And don't give up hope. You never know what can happen. So keep your head up. You'll find her Surion. I know you will. You love the girl. Its all you can do...

"I'll try... I'm scared Silver, she's been attacked once, and wasn't in the best condition when she went missing" he sighs looking down "Thanks for the time off... I'm going to need it ... I have a feeling"

"You know where to find me if you need any help, and if I see her I'll protect her as best I can. You know that." He gave a grim smile, and held out one hand. "Go with the blessings of the gods, and of an old wolf if you'll have them. Hunt will, and find your hearts love." Silver's eye was cold as he thought over the situation, trying to think of something, anything he could do to help.

Surion nods "Thanks Silver... I hope to Visha I can find her" he takes a deep breath and turns back towards the elevator.. Least he didn't have to worry about work in the mean time

Sighing he watched the young man run off, and walked back into his office, flopping down onto the couch and taking a long drink, eye closed. "Go with speed hunter, and may you find your quarry soon..."

Search For Nani Part 2: Celia
The sounds of Surion's Harley echoed through the forest, and he stopped it near the school shutting it off and climbing off pocketing the keys and hanging the helmet on the handlebars before Running up the entrance of the school, dodging students and avoiding running into anyone as he hurried towards Nani's classroom

Celia was in the classroom wiping down the boards and making sure everything was in order for the next day. The new teacher taking care of the class didn't seem to care all that much how the place looked so she always made sure it looked top notch in case her best friend came back.

She stopped for a moment looking at the picture on Tinania's desk, it was of her, Ducan, and Tinania as kids. It was the only picture they posed for before the left. Swallowing she closes her eyes as a single tear falls down her face. The pain she felt was a mixture between hatred and sadness, for both her brother and best friend. She lost her brother because of Tinania, but then she lost her best friend because of her idiot brother.

Shaking her head she pulls at her black sweater then fixes her black jeans. Her face was streaked with black because she had been crying earlier. Anyone who saw her could tell her was mourning. So alot of the other in the village just left her to herself.

Surion skidded to a stop in the classroom door, his eyes scanning the room hoping to catch a glimpse of her familiar form, but his eyes only lit on the familiar form of Celia... he bites his lip he's not sure if he should say something or not, he wasn't even sure Celia knew, till he saw her cheek and that answered that

Pushing her hair from her face she cleaned the rest of the papers on Tinania's desk before she grabbed her own books. Turning she looks up spotting Surion.

Instantly her eyes flashed a hatred towards him but then they soften as she looked down at her books "Evening Surion....what bring you to the school." her voice was soft almost not able to be heard. She barely spoke anymore, she seem to change from the hyper flirty teen she was.

"Looking for Tinania" he says stepping into the room, he caught her brief look. "You haven't seen her have you Celia" he asks, a touch of hope edged his voice as he stopped several meters away from her

Celia frowns shaking her as she pushes her hair from her face. Looking up at him she laughs alittle "Can't say I have the last time I saw her was in class, before the incident...." she stops biting her bottom lip before looking back up at him "May I go now..."

Surion didn't step out of the way "You've known her longer then I've even been alive Celia, surely you might have some ideas where to look?" he said not trying to be rude, just slowly growing desperate, this was a male who blamed only himself for her leaving

Celia frowns then shakes her head "Surion I don't know where she is. Nor at this point do I really care. How does that sound?" her voice was slightly filled with anger even if she was trying her hardest to control it.

"That sounds like the worst thing I've ever heard from someone who is supposed to be one of her best friends" he says motioning his right hand at her the light caught the metallic surface of his ring reflecting off her chest for a moment till his hand returned to his side

Celia eyes narrowed alittle as she steps toward him "She is my best friend. But if you haven't figure it out yet I lost someone very special to me. And its all your girlfriend fault. So right now I'm pissed at her and I have every right to be..." she looks up at him then hisses alittle between clenched teeth "Now move...."

"No I won't move, because the person I know to have hurt her, Celia I heard him, you obviously don't know the things he did to her, I've seen her body covered in bruises, I healed those bruises, I heard his words... 'I'll kill you and then get that little b***h'... Ducan has been stalking her for months, Nani has clung to me not wanting to go home because of him in the past" He had no intention in letting anyone treat Nani like she was the one at fault

Celia eyes narrowed even more "You don't think I know what he was doing? Tinania never let me help her. So I kept him away as best as I could. He was human for goddamn sakes....He could have gotten help. I was trying to help him, I cared about him enough to do that..." shaking her head she disappeared with a crack then reappears outside the classroom heading across the bridge "We're done here...."

Surion doesn't turn, not yet "Celia, why do you defend a woman beater, those are people who do not deserve it. You defend the man who nearly killed Nani, left her to die in the forest..." he bit his tongue before he told her that the male had even caused Nani to lose her memory, he'd not told.. anyone, not a single soul, not even her mother

Celia stops then looking over her should she frowns "Because Ducan was my twin Surion. As much as I hate him for what he done to Tinania, he still my blood. I have the right to defend him..." she looks away as the tears start to fall again. She refused to allow anyone to see her cry.

Surion is silent, his stomach did a flip... Nani's own best friend's twin... He took a deep breath and turned walking out of the room "You have a right to care about your best friend too" he says quietly, pushing past her further into the hall he was trying to control his own anger, it wouldn't do good to get mad

Celia lets her books fall from her hands her own anger hit it limit as the tears feel "You don't think I don't care?!?!? My best friend who I go to for everyone, the very person who I grew up with is gone!!!! I hate her for leaving me here Surion, I hate her for what happen to my brother!!! But I want her to come back so everything would be normal again. I hate my brother more so then anything else for what he done to my family as well as everyone else. But I cannot help the way I feel." she stops as a sob racks her body. All this was anger was cause from being never being let go, she just kept holding onto it.

"She's gone, but I have absolutely no intention in stopping looking for her, not until the end of my days, and that's a very long time. I will find her, I will search, and I will never give up. There's nothing we can do about those who are gone from this plane not unless you are a necromancer, but never ever give up on those who are still alive... I will find her" he didn't care how many might be watching... "And I'll help her remember" he whispers the last line ready to turn and leave

Celia watches him leave then shaking her head she leans down gathering her books. She hope that Surion found Tinania, he hope that she was okay. But if and when Tinania return to them all, she wasn't going to be there. She wouldn't be able to face her, or anyone else on this land again. She would be heading back tot he Elven city her family was from.

Search for Nani Part 3: Tari
Surion nearly stormed out of the school, only to stop by his bike and lean his hands on the seat and take several calming breaths. When he'd calmed down enough to ride safely he grabbed his helmet and pulled it on and got on his bike, he turned it to head northeast, no particular destination, just out of the village while he thought of where to look next, he wasn't going overly fast being in the village and all.

Not that far from the river on the outskirts of Guardian Village, Tari was training with her father using kendo sticks. Gasping as her father knocked her legs out from under her she hit the ground with a hard thud.

Shaking her head she rubs the back of her head as her father spoke "Tari, my dear child, you have been so distracted lately. You should be mourning rather then training. Its okay..."

Tari simply shook her head as she stood, she wasn't going to show feelings, she wasn't going to show what was going on inside her. Holding her kendo stick out in front of her, her father frowns as she lunges at him blocking her attack.

Surion's eyes caught movement as he neared where they were training. "Tari..." he says quietly to himself, a word that wouldn't be heard over the engine of the bike. He pulls off the road and turns off the bike pulling the helmet from his head, was he going to get the same reaction all over again... And if he did, was he going to be able to handle it... He sighs and climbs off the bike and walks through the foliage towards them

Tari cries out as she strikes at her father again only to get blocked. When once again her father sweeps his kendo stick at her feet legs again knocking them out from under her. Landing on the ground face forward winces as she lands on her arms.

Her father shook his head tossing his kendo stick to the ground kneeling down near his daughter "That is enough, I will not allow you to train and get hurt when you are not fully here..." he pauses as he hears the foot steps "It seems we have company..." he looks towards the foliage.

Sitting up slowly she watches the foliage for a moment then nods alittle "It's friend, its happens to be someone close to the family..." she stands slowly wiping the dirt from her clothes.

Surion stops and stuffs his hands in his pockets on the inside of the foliage, "Hi Tari" he says , she doubtfully had seen him 'dress-down' as he was now, and he didn't care of he was perfectly pressed or not.

Tari nods to Surion then looks at her father "May we have a few minutes father? I'll be home soon in time for dinner..." with a nod her father give her a hug before turning to nod a Surion. Bending down he picks up both kendo sticks then takes his leave heading back towards the village.

Tari watched her father leave before looking back at Surion, she nods alittle then smiles "I was wondering when you would be coming to seek me out..."

"You are one of her friends... One of the people she'd confided in..." he bites his lip "Even if you haven't seen her I thought maybe you might have ideas where to look" he steps closer to her

Tari looks down at the river watching it for a moment "Surion I wish as I could say I know where she is. But I don't..." she looks back over at him frowning "I do know that she loved traveling in the forest. Have you tried looking through the forest?"

"I've done some walking through it, I can't really say to what extent, it's so very immense, it's a lot of ground for one person to cover alone" he sighs and looks down at his feet and then up again looking out into the trees

Tari frowns looking at towards the forest "Rumors say there is a fairy kingdom within this land. That only fairies can find, no one but a fairy can see this place either. I remember Tinania telling me about a mystic place like this at one point. Saying she would go back, but only when she truly needed to..." she pauses looking at the river as it moved.

But she can't even remember me, she didn't remember Elven, not even her name... how would she remember that he thinks to himself "If she went there I'll never find her, I'm dragonic, not fairy" he says biting his lip and sounding defeated, though he didn't want to give up hope

Tari shakes her head turning to Surion "You will find her, but if I know Tinania like I do. She scared, so she followed what was natural to her. Elves stay in the forest and fairies stay hidden. So likely she in this forest, but hidden. Once she ready to return Surion she will. She loves you too much not to return to you..."

Surion sighs and looks down to the ground "She promised to never leave, Tari I'm scared, scared that she won't, and it is tearing me up, I don't know how much I can handle it" he wipes his right eye getting rid of the dark pink tears forming there

Tari places a hand on his shoulder giving it a light squeeze "There is a saying my father say to me often. Sometimes the goddess works in different way then we wish it. You can let her defeat you, or you can overcome it...Right now you need to overcome it. Tinania loves you and right now your both being tested. Don't fail, that all I can tell you my friend...." she lets her hand slip from his shoulder.

"I hope to Visha... and Kalika too that you are right Tari, I really do, cause ... I just don't know what I'd do if she didn't, I've loved her a long time now, even when I was too young to even really act upon it..." Surion gives her a very weak smile and then looks out into the trees again... Was she there? He had at least one more place outside of the Estate he wanted to check before he really started searching in the trees

Tari nods then looking over toward the village she smiles alittle "If you need me for anything Surion. You know how to get in touch with me. Don't lose hope no matter what. She'll come back to us all.." bowing she lifts her hand to squeeze his shoulder again "I must go my friend. I have things I must do, and I must think...."

"Thanks Tari, and I will" he says and gives her another weak smile, least one of Nani's friends seemed to care "If you see her... please tell her I'm searching for her..."

Tari nods then smiles "I will, in fact I'm chain her to a chair then come find you just so she can't get away. Until we meet again my friend...." bowing she turns racing back towards the village.

He watches her and then returns to his bike and heads off out of the first and towards the towns

Search for Nani Part 4: Checking the Clinic ((ORP))
Surion Rakamash
Surion, dishelveled and looking like he'd gotten little to no sleep hops off his harley and pulls open the front door of the clinic. "Nani?!" he called hopefully, though his voice didn't sound very hopeful as he peered around the room with his blue eyes.

A blood red shirt and a pair of black jeans made up his attire that day, he didn't really care about looking fantastic his mind was on his mate. And to keep his hair out of his way it was tied back in a sloppy ponytail

Ransom.Argentum
Ransom was bored.

Bored, and restless. His house was so quiet that he felt like he was just waiting for something to happen...and Nic and Ali were nowhere to be found. Instead of staying at home and snapping at everyone there- or risking getting caught with a cigarette- he chose another location...the Clinic, where he hadn't been in a long time.

Stepping into the building with Ravine on his shoulder, the boy frowned through his silver glasses. He was much older than he had been before, right on the line separating child from teen, and he seemed much more wary of the world...less afraid, but also less trusting. His usual t-shirt and jeans were starting to fit him better, looking less likely to swallow him whole.

"...Surion?" He asked, squinting slightly to remember the other boy's name. His panic was throbbing through the young empath's mind, painful. "Chill out, man, what's wrong?"

Surion Rakamash
Surion did an about face looking at hte male who spoke his name. It took him a moment to place a name with the face "Ransom" he said after a moment and then looked around again "Nani is missing... I'm trying to find her... I think my hopes were a little too high to find her here though" he bites the side of his lower lip his tail twitching worridly, he wasn't aware how his emotions were flooding Ransom's mind or that Ransom was empathic.

Steal
Ilex walked down the sidewalk, his hands stuffed in the pockets of his white pants, his head bowed so that the long strands of his hair were hideing most of his features. Tied back in a loose tail the longer strands draped down his back, providing entertainment for the winged cat on his shoulder who was happily batting at the silvery strands.

At Ilex's feet walked a pink feli, its wings flapping lightly as well, catching some of the light from the sun above and refracting it over the boy's legs. He sighed silently and watched the ground. Once more he had been kicked out of class for not answering questions. No matter what the teachers were told before hand, none understood that he couldn't speak out loud. They all believed he just didn't want to. Turning the corner toward the Clinic he froze in place, causing Talia his feli to run into his legs. Two boys were already there and he didn't know either of them.

Ransom.Argentum
"You're not gonna get anywhere freaking out," Ransom pointed out cynically. The blue and gold dragon unwound her tail from his neck, jumping down and skittering over to sniff Surion's hand. "You're givin' me a headache, so siddown and talk like a real person and not a toy monkey."

The boy took a seat himself, putting his sneakered feet up on the table and examining his companion with cool brown eyes. "So, who's Nani and what happened." The entrance of another boy- this one not exactly happy either- was starting to strain Ran's nerves.

Surion Rakamash
Surion's sense of smell picked up the new arrival and he glanced towards Ilex and nodded a greeting, he didn't know Ilex, though he thinks he may have seen the boy once before very briefly.

"Headache?" this confused him but he sat down anyways "Nani.. Tinania, my mate... girlfriend... fiancee, she's been missing for a while after she got attacked... Sorry, it's hard not to be as worried as I am after what happened, she was nearly killed the first time...."

Steal
Ilex noticed the stress on the one boy's face. Not the one speaking of mates but the other, and he recognised it as a look that had been on his face several times when his father had been crying. Can he feel what others feel? Like I can sometimes? The very thought of it made him look at the feline familar on his shoulder, who curled tighter to him, calming him down as she had been given to him to do. She soothed him much like his sister could. Creeping slowly into the room he moved into a shadowed corner, not sure what to say or do. Surely the other two were friends, and how could one step between friends?

He spoke of a mate, I am not sure what that is. But someone is missing, that can't be good. He took a breath and looked back over at the two boys. I can't even ask questions. Ugh, I hate this. He reached up and pushed his bangs back.

Ransom.Argentum
Pretty damn young to be that worried about girls, Ransom thought to himself, disdainful. He kept it to himself, however- Surion was only a little older than he was, after all. HE sure didn't want to be caught that quick, girls were annoying.

"You're screaming 'OHSHIT' in my head," he explained dryly, touching one finger to his left temple. His language had been bad since his stay in the foster home- oooops. "Didja find her after she was attacked? Or is she missin' FROM the attack? An' didja ask her mama? Mamas got a bad habit of knowin' where people are."

The other kid was getting frustrated. Ransom spared him a glance, eyes neutral- he wasn't one to reach out. Let the kid figure it out on his own.

Surion Rakamash
Surion glanced again at the silent boy, he wasn't sure why he was so silent but he wasn't going to question it, he likely had his own reasons. "After she woke, after she was healed... she... ran..., she was at home in the haven when she ran.. So Krista knows she's missing" he pauses "Uhm sorry,I don't mean to scream in your head... I've just... been trying to find her I'm worried about her"

Steal
Ilex swallowed and slowly moved out of the shadows, reaching into his back pocket for a note pad. He had learned how to spell and write, which was a good thing, but he hated doing it. Often he pretended in class he hadn't brough his note pad with him so that he could sit silently in classes like he preferred. This time he had to do something else though.

Sorry for intrudeing... He wrote carefully. Someone is missing? How long?

His pale cheeks flushed and he carefully hid his horn with his bangs and headband. Everyone knew that unicorns were goody-goodies, and he didn't want to be mocked by the two boys who obviously had more life knowledge than he.

Ransom.Argentum
Ransom considered this for a moment, petting Ravine as the dragon jumped up into his lap, turned around three times, and laid down. "Looked in alla her hiding spots? Everywhere she thinks is safe? Sounds liek you need a dog or somethin' of hers to help you sniff her out."

Since Ravine would be exactly the one to ask if HE did such a thing, he hugged his dragon. When the other boy stepped forward, he frowned slightly, and let Surion answer- since he didn't really have any strong suggestioend besides 'shoulda taken better care of her in the first place.' And that might start a fight, so it was better left unsaid.

Surion Rakamash
"Working on it theres so many places, and this is one of those places... I dont really need a dog, I have a good sense of smell, it's one thing I inherited from my father...." he sighs trying to calm a little, if only for Ransom's sake

His head turns to the other boy the light of the room catching the surface of his horns, his sense of smell told him Ilex wasn't a normal human, but he didn't really care what anyone's background was, he was used to working around non-humans at the Knights Portal. "Nani is... she's my fiancee and mate... she's been missing a few days now, she ran the day after she was attacked"

Steal
Ilex knew nothing of fiances and mates and in fact had heard nothing of people being attacked. Okay, well he knew that it happened but not around here. Tilting his head a bit, he stroked the winged cat on his shoulder, causeing Dyna to flutter a bit before looking at both boys. He lifted his notepad again and tapped his pencil to it.

I am sorry, I heard nothing of any of this. I wish I could be of help. I was merely thinking that if I went missing Dyna would get help, or even Talia may. Does she not have someone or something around her that could let someone know?

The feline unicorn shifted a bit, still intimidated by the other boys. I am sorry, I must make no sense. My name is Ilex, I.. didn't mean to listen in.

Ransom.Argentum
Ransom watched the other two, quiet. He wasn't the type to help on any basis, really, so he was all too happy to let someone else step in and take action. Ravine tilted her head at the other two boys, sending a wave of mild reproach at her boy.

Surion Rakamash
"Yeah... me, she lives with me, we share a house... she was on her way home from work when she was attacked... and I was at work, I work from 6pm till 3am 5 days a week, she works normal school hours... she's a potions teacher..." he pauses looking at Ransom and then back to Ilex "Nice to meet you Ilex" he says and puts his hand to his forehead a moment pushing his bangs from his face and then sits up a bit more

Steal
Ilex swallowed not knowing what else to say. If she didn't have a pet, or a friend or someone else to be with her, how can anyone know for sure what happened? It was why his parent had made sure that both he and his little sister had someone or something with them at all times. He had Dyna and Talia, his sister had.. well, who knows what their names were. The five little kiki's seemed to guard her like nothing else though.

Oh.. I have Dyna.. she can always go for help, and if she fails.. Talia can... I can't ever see myself not having something to help. He chewed his lower lip, his hand raising to his hair to brush it back, causeing part of his horn to show.

I wish I knew what to say. Or how to help. I am sorry. His feline ears folded back and his tail drooped down till Talia was swatted with it.

Surion Rakamash
He sighs and bites his lip silent for a moment "She wouldn't have thought to take any of her familiars with her, they are all at our home, she was recovering at her mom's place... and..." and for the first time he admitted it "She couldn't remember anyone... or anything" the last words he spoke were a near whisper, he blamed himself for her disappearance

Steal
Ilex looked a bit stricken at that. He recalled what happened when his own parent had been hit by a car and forgot who he was. He swallowed and looked down at the floor, scuffing one foot lightly. His hand moved carefully to write on the paper. One can't blame themself for bad things. All I can.. All I know is that if something like that happened to me, I would hope that no one would leave me alone till... till they knew I could find my way back to where I came from.... He took a shallow breath. I don't know what to say.. but.. really, if she was with her parents.. shouldn't they have watched her better?

Ransom.Argentum
That was really all Ransom needed to hear. People missing, memories lost, all of this added up to too much angst- and Surion's worry was much deeper than his panic, and too much for him to want to bear. He stood with his dragon, giving a little salute to Surion before slipping out of the Clinic. That was a bad idea. Maybe I can find Nico or Ali now...

Surion Rakamash
Surion sighs "I left the room for minutes... and she was asleep in bed... I didn't think she'd wake and leave" He shakes his head "Now I look for her, I took time off work, and she's everything I'm focusing on, nothing else" He notices Ransom leave and waves to him as he departs

Steal
Ilex bowed his head. It still makes little sense that one who is in someone elses house could slip out without being seen. You say that her familiars were not with her, but then also none saw her go? Is that not bad that none thought on their own to follow? He wasn't experienced in speaking his mind to anyone.

Surion Rakamash
"Our home and the haven building are quite a distance from each other, a good twenty minute walk at least, the haven estate lands are immense" he stops and fidgits and sighs and then he tips his head to one side, the boy was interesting, "Thanks for trying to help best you can" Surion smiles weakly and then gets up. "Nice to meet you again I need to get looking again" and with a pat on Ilex's shoulder he disapepared out hte door

Search for Nani Part 5: Aylana
Surion leaned against his Harley, it was parked out front of the Haven, his mind was thinking about his search thus far, ok he had certainly had had no luck, his ponytail was out right then, he was working a knot with his finger tips as he thought, Tari had mentioned the forest, he wanted other opinions too, but it did seem like a feasible place to look....

Aylana pulled up to the haven in her black 2006 ford mustang gt. Looking over at Surion she smiles alittle as she place the car into park. Popping the door open she climbs out of the car before closing the door. Leaning against it she smiles "How are ya holding up hun?"

Surion looked up at her, the expression distant for a moment "I'm all right I guess" he says not exactly truthfully. He sighs and lets his hands drop, thus letting his long hair fall against his upper arm. He looks rumpled, and definitely at a lack of sleep.

Aylana shakes her head laughing alittle "If that isn't a bold face lie..." walking over to him she leans next to him resting against the bike "Why don't you really tell me what going on? I'm not Fa'e right now so I can't go searching through your mind at this point..." she nudged him lightly.

He smiles weakly "Nani's missing, and I can't find her" he says with a sigh, and he looks towards her "Noone I've talked to has seen her at all. Not that everyone I asked cares where she is"

Aylana frowns shaking her head then sighs herself "I wish I didn't fall under those people also. But I haven't seen my sister, I tried her cell phone, only to find that it was in her room. When she left she made sure no one would be able to find her..." looking down at the ground she frowns "Everyone cares about where she is Surion. Just everyone has a different way of showing it. Sometimes its easier to not to show feeling. Everyone dealing with this in a different manner..."

"No this person said bold and outright they didn't care where she was, she doesn't care. Trust me we argued about it..." he sighs and puts his hand to his forehead for a moment "If my guess is right the only things she has with her was the clothing she was sleeping in, that's sweatpants and a white spaghetti strap top..."

Aylana pauses for a moment then tilts her head looking at him "You're talking about Celia? Trust me she care, but understand her family is going through hard times right now. She was just lashing out. Trust me I know how it is. I lashed out at my mother when Tinania was born saying I wish she was dead. You just have to give her awhile to clear her head..." she pauses then smirks "She wearing the pjs I gave her for Christmas..."

He feels like doing noting but growling about Celia, so he doesn't say anything about her at all "Tari says I should search the forest... And I guess that's what it was, she changed into them when I helped her upstairs so she could rest in her bed rather on that stretcher" He tells her what he did know

Aylana pushes her hand through her hair then nods "The forest, any reason why Tari said to check there?" she was slightly confused by this, she wasn't around the land enough to know the tales.

"She says Elves stay in the forest and fairies stay hidden, so she hypothesizes that Nani is hiding in the forest. She also says there are rumors of a fairy kingdom in the forest, a place only fairies can find, she says Nani told her of a place like that" he explains

Aylana keeps quiet thinking about this then smirks "That might explain the items she always carry with her. The pendant, blade and belt. The belt and blade have fairies on them. Then the pendant is something I have never seen before. Also the orb she carries...." looking over at him she nods "The forest might be your best bet, I know every once in awhile I can hear music that not from the villages..." she pauses again "Then there was Rhian and Pielle that were always around when Tinania was born..."

He's quiet for a moment "I remember them, So long ago now, back when I was still a toddler... I wish I knew where they were, I'd ask them if they've seen her.. Lana, I'm worried about her, I truly am... " he had reason for his worry, and not just her lack of presence, he bites his lip with his sharp teeth his eyes searching the human Fa'e trying to decide if he should tell her the truth about Nani's condition

Aylana arches a brow slightly looking at Surion's eyes. She didn't need her magic to know something was wrong "What are you not telling me about my sister Surion?"

Surion sighs, was he that much of an open book, he supposed he must be, after all she figured it out fast "She can't remember..." he pauses and looks down closing his eyes his bangs falling into his face "Anything" he adds in a whisper

Aylana's eyes widen alittle before she shook her head "s**t, this isn't good. Does my mother know?" she turns looking at him biting her own bottom lip.

He shakes his head "No, noone here at the Haven does, I didn't tell anyone... Lana it's my fault she's gone..." a dark pink tear dropped from his eyes landing on the toe of his boot

Aylana sighs alittle "Let keep it that way, if it got to my mother. I fear what might happen, she not doing so well, she keeping herself busy, not allowing anyone to help her. That a bad sign..." she stops looking at him arching a brow "How do you figure?"

"I took her up to her room, she was uncomfortable laying on the stretcher, so I figured her old bed was better then a couch or a chair. I stayed with her, helped her clean up some, I stopped her from running at least twice in all that... And then I laid with her, hummed a tune to her that always worked in putting her to sleep, she once told me it was a spell to do that...." he pauses taking a breath ignoring another drop of tear that fell onto his boot. "She had asked me to stay with her, I told her I would, but it was tearing me up inside that she had no memories whatsoever of me, of anything... Once I was sure she was asleep I left the room to calm down, I was only gone five minutes Lana, just five... When I went back tot he room... she was gone..."

Aylana places her fingers on under his chin to lift his face up to look into his eyes. Wiping at any tears that fall she shakes her head "Surion it wasn't your fault. Wanna know why.. because She tried to leave two time before.. Tinania a fairy when they set there minds to something they do it sooner or later. remember how everyone told Tinania not to go see my grandfather?" she pauses so he could answer her before she continued.

He looked at her when she turned his face up towards her, he listened to her words and then nodded "Yeah, I do, Damien asked me if I'd help keep an eye on her to keep her from going" he says

Nodding she smiles alittle "Tinania made a promise to Nyoka that she wouldn't go see my grandfather. But she didn't keep that promise, she found out my grandfather had something she needed. She forgot all about the promise and went to get it, that the way of the imp inside her. They do what they have to...so if she left its because she knew for some reason she had to. So don't blame yourself. I know she wouldn't want you to..."

"It's hard not to, if I'd been there I could have stopped her, but I wasn't... So now I search.. Lana I wont give up, ever" his eyes show a quick flash of determination amongst sadness, worry and lack of sleep

Aylana nods then smiles "And you have family that will help you. It might not show, but were all looking...None of us will give up Surion, not until she is returned to us..." she pauses then pokes his nose "You look like you could use some sleep you know that"

Surion sighs and shakes his head "No, no sleep, not until Nani is home" he sounds determined in these words, he intended to pour absolutely everything in him into his search

Aylana frowns "I don't think Nani would want you to do that Surion. You could get sick...Not sleeping is a bad thing..." she shakes her head then frowns "You have to get some sleep my friend, at least for her sake..."

"Not yet, later, I'm ok for now" he didn't entirely feel the lack of sleep yet as his body was using his reserves and healing energy to 'power' him

Aylana nods though a frown was still on her face "Okay, I believe you, but if I found out you get hurt because of lack of sleep. I'm so telling my sister when she gets back. I'll let her deal with you..." she winks them smiles.

He couldn't help but chuckle slightly, yeah he could only imagine what Nani would say... But right now everything that was happening was tearing him up, even if he didn't fully let that show

Aylana smiles even more "There we go, I was hoping that would get you to laugh. Sometimes its better to laugh when everything around you is in chaos..." she looks away looking up at the stars as they started appearing.

He follows her gaze "I wish I could laugh more... perhaps when she's back it'll be easier... I miss her so very very much" he brings his hands together and plays with the ring on his right ring finger

Aylana nods as she watches the sky "I know, we all miss her.. It's funny you never know how much you need someone until there gone." she looks at him watching him play with the ring "She'll come back Surion...when she ready..."

"Thanks Lana, I appreciate your talking to me about this, you have no idea how hard it is to keep to yourself things like this" He sighs and gives her a rather weak smile, he was glad that in a way she was related to him

Aylana nods then winks at him "Anytime, your soon to be my brother in law. It would be wrong of me if I didn't try to help you out..." she turns looking towards the house then back at him " I should be heading inside, I was going to help mum out today with the new babies in the house..."

"Yeah... I should keep on my search, I have so many places to look, but first to take my bike home..." he moves to give her a hug, he could use one, even if not from his mate

Wrapping her arms around Surion she gives him a tight hugs then whisper "Everything will be okay Surion, just don't give up okay..." pulling back she lightly kisses his forehead. "Be well my brother, and take care of yourself okay?"

"I will, and I won't give up" he hugs her back and then pulls away and reaches back pulling his hair into a ponytail again before reaching for his helmet

Stepping away from him she nods "I will see you soon okay. If she comes home I will call you the moment I see her okay? Talk to you later..." turning she pockets her keys before heading towards the house. Looking back only for a moment she turns opening the door before slipping inside.

Surion nods "Thanks" he slips his helmet on and soon was riding quickly away over the haven lands towards his home

Search For Nani Part 6: Asking Eirnae & New Bonds
Surion used the disc and arrived at the manor, he would have floated there, but he didn't exactly feel the energy to do it, I would have rode his bike, but his mother insisted he not drive if he felt tired... And indeed he did, but he'd sworn he would not sleep until Nani was home safe and sound in his arms... Having been told where to find his targetted person he wanted to talk to he headed for the forest. He didn't look his best, he didn't really care, his clothes were clean but rumpled, and he had showered quickly, and instead of loose his hair was tied into a pony tail loosely, but more then that he looked though sleep had evaded him for days.

Since the directions he received from Vinyn were fairly accurate, though she had failed to mention the multiple clusters of rock that would be found along the path, his ears soon pick up the 'cunk, cunk' of wood cracking against more wood. There is also the occasional rustle as feet shift dirt and debris as two forms scuffle in the close distance, though details are as of yet obscure. At most, he can likely tell that both are female, and one is taller than the other by a few inches.

The now likely familiar face of Alimus pushes out from an oak's long shadow to regard the tired youth with his usual emotionless face. The Shadowkin says nothing as he studies Surion for a few seconds, then turns around and starts padding off in the direction of the stave fight at a slow pace intended to allow Surion to keep up without trouble.

Whirr... crack! Eirnae lands a solid blow on Shina's quarterstaff, but it is decisively blocked and then deflected. Keeping her eyes trained on her daughter's movements, she doesn't turn her head as Alimus and Surion step out of the brush. She dodges a blow intended for her left thigh, and dances out of Shina's range as she says, "You wished to see me, Surion?" She then dives back into the fray, her staff a whirl of acivity, Shina's moving with equal speed in a flurry of blocks.

Surion had shrunk and stashed the disc in his pocket around the time he came across Alimus. He didn't say anything to the male, he often didn't. His tired eyes followed the movements of the quarterstaffs against each other, much like a hunter observing the movement of prey. Only Eirnae's words brought his thoughts back to him "Yeah... please... preferably alone" He would talk to Shina... but later, he had decided he wanted to talk to anyone he spoke to on a one to one basis

"In a moment, mellonamin," she advises, the staves resounding with yet another collison. A bead of sweat trickles down the side of Eirnae's face, but is soon banished by a quick spin to avoid a fast series of swings and a sweep from Shina. Attempting a sweep of her own, Shina parries Eirnae's staff and knocks it out of her mother's hands, leaving Eirnae kneeling with an arm out in front and Shina's staff hovering less than an inch to the right of her head.

They remain posed as this for a long minute, then Eirnae smiles and rises slowly, Shina pulling her staff away but keeping it at the ready. The angelic Fa'e sweeps a stubborn bit of bang out of her face as she winks down at her Guardian. "Next time, don't go for the knees," Shina instructs, then looking over to Surion without shifting her body's posture to continue to face Eirnae. "Good to see you again... You should get some rest after this," she adds with a slight frown, sheathing her staff in its sling across her back and between her wings. "I'll get out of your hair, now. Come talk to me sometime, Surion. I'd like to get to know my neice's fiance' a bit better, you know?" She hops to the side to avoid a pounce from Alimus, shaking her head as she walks past Surion, reaching out to pat at his shoulder before heading into the woods and gradually out of sight.

"She gets better every time," Eirnae admits as she places her staff to lean it against a tree's trunk, stretching out her arms as she eyes Surion up and down critically. "You look like hell on a cold day, Surion. It must be urgent." She waves him forward, moving to sit on a fallen log a short distance away that's been smoothed to better resemble a park bench. "Come, sit and tell me what's on your mind."

Alimus disappears and then reappears at Eirnae's feet, curled up around her ankles like an oversized pair of black and grey spotted legwarmers.

"Don't worry Shina, you'll see me soon" he assures the Fa'e trying to keep his voice level with her as she left.

Once basically alone with the exception of Alimus Surion approaches Eirnae "I'm trying to find Nani" he says, his voice cracking slightly with the worry that hang thickly around him. "I'm talking to anyone I can think of trying to see if anyone has any ideas whatsoever where she could have gone" he didn't sit, he was too anxious to do this.

"Mm," is her initial reply, her hands shifting from her lap to rest on the wood of the log. She studies his face intently for a time, knowing now that her worries for her niece have been confirmed. She hates being right sometimes.

Alimus slinks out of his coil, stretching as he and Eirnae converse through the link they share. Their discussion is brief, and soon Alimus leaps away, fading into the shadow of a tree at the edge of the clearing.

Eirnae leans back on her palms, glad for the lack of splinters as she asks, "How long has she been missing?" She is fairly certain that she already knows, but her information may not be fully accurate.

"Uhm a few days, I'm not really sure, I haven't been watching hte calendar... cause I haven't been to work since then either" he shifts from foot to foot his eyes looking at her as if desperaetly seeking answers and knowledge, something to settle his heart

That sounded close enough to what she's garnered with Alimus's aid for her to not pry further. "You have inquired with the rest of the family about her whereabouts?" she asks as she lifts a hand to make a gesture to indicate the space before her, "As you have not been at work, and I understand that she tends to stay at the apartment that you have at the club. Did she leave word there?"

"The apartment was the first place I checked, and I asked Silver, he hasn't seen her... I got time off, I've been asking family and friends, trying to find her.. " He bites his lip a scared and worried and rather desperate look in his eyes as he fidgets with his ring on his right hand

"And you haven't slept a wink, have you?" she inquires with a slight frown, placing her palm atop her thigh as she studies his face. "Running yourself ragged won't help your lady love, ussta baut'wael," she softly adds, shaking her head reproachfully.

The sound of twigs and fallen leaves snapping and rustling announces Alimus's return, a long and thickly wrapped bundle held in his jaws, its shape cylindrical.

"Uhm no... It's not exactly at the top of my priority list... " he admits and eyes the returning Alimus for a moment "I'm not running ragged, more like running desperate" he says

"In this case, both are along the same lines," she mutters as Alimus approaches her and depoisits what he was carrying onto Eirnae's lap. She nods her thanks, then looks her Shadowkin friend in the eyes intently. Alimus echoes her nod, then turns and bounds off much as he did before.

"Surion, your coming to see me is not a surprise, though I wasn't expecting it to be so soon," she begins once Alimus is truly out of sight. "Here... " She lifts up the bundle with both hands, balancing it on her cupped palms. "A difficult journey is nigh upon you, Surion. I believe you will need this."

Surion blinks "A journey?" he had no idea what Eirnae meant by that but reached and took the object none the less "Thanks I think" he was bewildered on top of his other emotions now as he moved to unwrap it to see exactly what his friend and teacher had given him

Tugging away the wrappings entirely displays how the shaft of what must be a weapon tapers to a blunt point at its south end, the thicker northern portion supporting a seemingly sharp water crystal of impressive size, which no doubt is meant to be its spearhead. Coiled around the haft of the spear is a dragonette, that if it were alive would span the length of Surion's arm from fingertip to shoulder, though that measurement does not include its wings or the entirity of its tail. The flow and coloring of the small dragon's intricately carved scales brings to mind the pattern of a jaguar's fur, it's eyes shards of topaz that catch the light filtering through the trees' leaves to seemingly glimmer with intelligence and life.

"I know not where you will be drawn, Surion, only that I, and those who are of my family, may not go with you." She knows she does not have to say that the spear was made by her, as her crafter's mark can be found between the dragon's head and the crystal by those who know where to look. "A warning before you accept my gift. This weapon carries with it a responsibility, to both yourself and it. The dragon alone will be a challenge for one as you." She smiles slightly as she rises, walking over to stand beside him and pet the tail of the wooden dragonette. "If you accept this, then bloody the weapon for its magic to bond with yours." She steadies herself, slipping an arm around his waist while keeping a hand on the dragon's tail.

Surion's eyes were glued to the dragonette even as Eirnae spoke. The jaguar... his totem... it seemed to find it's way into his life even away from the cliffs, first in Tezcatlipoca, and now this spear... He hears her words and after a moment he brought a wrist to his mouth and bit into his skin with his sharp teeth and with a slight wince, drawing what could only be described as 'diluted' blood, not a rich red and certainly not as thick as the ordinary person's. His gem flickered once but did not stay lit as he brings his wrist to the weapon running it along it getting his blood on parts of the gem, and the shaft and the dragonette.

"Vlos whol vlos, natha dro whol natha dro," Eirnae whispers as the symbol for Surion's life comes in contact with the spear. The simple silver band that Eirnae is wearing on the hand that is touching the staff shimmers red and then cracks down the middle, turning into dust that leaves a murky residue against Eirnae's skin.

For a moment, all around the two of them goes quiet and still. Then the creak of wood fills the void as the dragonette's head swings to the side and up to meet Surion's gaze. Its colors brighten, the scales rustling and rasping as if rubbing against one another, as Surion will feel the initial flickering of a voice within his mind, '... Bond. My Bond. Yes, yes... Mine.' Energy is being drained from Surion's body as this goes on, drawn from his very life to bring life to the dragonette that is now exploring his mind like a child curious about a new family member.

The sounds of the creaking of wood, the movement of the dragon, and then the voice in his head... These things combinened were nothing of what Surion could have ever expected and moves to let go of the spear's surface even as he felt the drawing of his energy "What.... the..." confusion, and a very hint of fear in his voice. It helps not that Surion had very little energy within him to begin with. He'd been using it all to try and find his mate. It didn't take long for his body to hit the trigger that his mind would automatically use to make him pass out. As his head tipped forward his eyes closing only Eirnae's grasp around his waist kept him from doing a face plant onto the ground in front of him

Surion's dead weight sags against Eirnae's right side, her releasing the spear in order to further brace his limp form up. Alimus jumps from the shadow of yet another tree and catches the middle of the spear in his mouth, the dragonette curling its tail around his muzzle as the Shadowkin 'harrumphs' in his throat, wrinkling his nose.

"No, I wouldn't drop it, Alimus, even if the little one is proving annoying," she gently chastises her friend, hiding a ghost of a smirk by ducking her head. Not that it matters, since the dragon is the only concious being that can't sense her emotions at present. "Let's get him to the manor. He can continue his search after we get some rest in him."

She mutters something in Draconic for the dragon's benefit as she turns and heads back towards the manor, though her progress is hampered by having to carry Surion. Normally she'd Shadow Jump to where she has to go, but she's not about to risk harming Surion by taking him from one plane to another while he's so low on energy. Alimus dutifully follows after her, the dragonette chittering away as it sees new things left and right to comment on.

It wasn't till late the next day that Surion's gem lit up signifying he had enough energy to heal himself, he'd lost the control over his scars in the time he'd been asleep. which left a messload of claw and teeth mark scars all over his torso and left arm mostly in plain sight with what he was wearing.

And yet another good hour after the bites he'd made on his wrist had disappeared all healed and he stirred slowly opening his eyes, blinking as he didn't see in front of him what he last had

'Bond! My Bond, Bond, Booo-ooond!' a decidingly youthful, and male, voice accompanied by the mood shifting feeling of a golden flash of... something ... cavorting inside his head is what meets Surion's conciousness the moment the youth starts to regain his awareness of the world. 'Awaken, Bond! So much to see, so much to do!'

If Surion focuses on the room longer, what was a bit fuzzy slowly gains detail, or at least enough to tell that he's indoors and inside a bedroom of some sort, though likely one he's never been in before.

'Slept all day, my Bond! Slept, slept, yes, slept too long!' that same sing-song voice chirps in his head.

"What... Dear Visha where am I" he mumbles pushing himself to sit up and look around "Whoever is talking would you calm down some please" he was trying to wake up... trying to sort out what happened... and where he was, for he did not know

'In Haven we are, in Haven we stay. In Haven bad things run and go away,' the little dragonette chirrups from where it is perched atop Surion's head, nesting in his hair, 'Shadow bring here, keep us safe. Deep under sheets, so the dreams come.'

'Bond feeling better? Good enough to name me?' the voice sounds anxious, 'Nothing without name, just as nothing without Bond.'

"I don't dream, if you are in my head as much as I have a feeling you are... you should know that" he reaches up grabbing at hte dragonette sitting nestled in his long dark blue hair pulling it down into his lap so he can look at it. It was still baffling him how so many things could take properties of his totem... "Did you keep watch over me the entire time I slept?"

The little jaguar dragon bobs its head in the affirmative, 'Always watch over Bond. Always, always,' it confirms and promises at the same time. It's long sinuous body wraps around one of Surion's arms lovingly, a wing curling about the other as it rubs its cheek against one of his hands, a purr rumbling in its throat.

'Dreams come, not to you but to me. I share?' it asks eagerly, as if the prospect of letting Surion see its dreams would be a positively wonderful experience.

"We'll see about hte dreams, I've gotten used to not having them... as for a name" he peers at the dragon "Well keeping watch over me would make you a Sentinel... So I think I'll call you Senti" he hopes giving hte overly excited dragon a name would calm it but somehow he had his doubts it would

Surion's hand is promptly licked by a raspy tongue as the presence inside his head prances around jovially. 'Senti, I am Senti!'

'Thank you, Bond! I am Senti, and Senti is grateful,' the dragonette purrs, nuzzling Surion's hand like a cat that wants attention. 'We go, now? Go find Nani? Shadow's keeper say we can go when we eat, and get supplies she leave for us. What are supplies?'

"Senti my name is Surion... not Bond..." he heard exactly what Senti said... "I lost time... Eirnae must have known this would happen... Supplies are needed things... problem is I may be in the Haven, but I don't know where in the Haven.. this place is very large" he gets up taking the dragon with him and grabbing the spear. He walks to the door and opens it looking out into the hall

'But Bond to me,' the little dragon argues, writhing to coil himself around Surion's bicep as they start to move, 'Will respect Bond. Call Surion if what Bond wishes.'

'Shadow's keeper said to follow hall and go down stairs, then next set of stairs, to find place with foodstuffs and supplies. Also said something about table with chairs all around,' Senti reports proudly.

"Yes please call me Surion" he says and then follows the noise dragon's words through the building until he sees the dining room and recognizes where he is

A haversack sits upon the dining table, seemingly full but not overally so. If its contents are inspected, a scrap of parchment is the first thing poking up from within with the main storage pocket. The parchment lists all that the haversack contains, and explains that all Surion has to do is think of what he wishes drawn from within the pack while reaching in, and it will be in his hand. Most of the supplies are food, the sort reserved for travel, but some are along the lines of rope and a change of clothes.

Next to the pack is a bowl of stew, a selection of bread in a basket next to it. Eating utensils come into existance to either side of the bowl containing the still steaming stew, and a glass of milk does the same to the upper right of it.

Surion figured he might as well take advantage of the generousity and sits and eats the stew as he reads the note, he looks at the bag.

Once done he looks at the dragon "Ok Senti, our search is not over... lets go" he grabs the sack "Obviously Eirnae doesn't know where she is so lets keep asking and searching" and he heads out of the Haven

Talking with Dad

Surion walked into the front door of the house he shared with his mate, the strange bag Eirnae had given him sliding off his shoulder to the floor. "No Senti, please I have to do this alone" he says to seemingly noone, he didn't even notice any scents that weren't usually in the home, he looked rumpled, but not tired, his hair tied back

Torvil had been waiting inside of Surion's house for a short while, and when he heard the door open and close he got up, moving over and looking into the doorway. "Ah, Surion... There you are... How are you doing?" He frowned. "Not well?"

"Dad..." he pauses and puts the spear down the dragonette on it growing still. "I didn't know you were coming... I'm fine... just trying to find Nani" he scratches the back of his neck and walks towards Torvil

Torvil frowned. "She's missing?" He asked tilting his head, obviously he was not up to date on the goings on as of late.

"Yeah, day after she was attacked... I don't know where she is, Silver hasn't seen her, neither have Celia or Tari, she hasn't been by the clinic, and Aylana and Eirnae haven't either..." he sighs, Ala would have told Torvil about the attack, but she had returned home that same day, before Tinania's disappearance

Torvil nodded grimly. "I see... Maybe she went somewhere where she would feel safe..." He said slowly. He wasn't sure, and he knew he probably wasn't going to be of any help.

"Safe? Safe? Dad she would have been safe with me, at the Haven or here at home, but no she leaves... Dad she promised she never would... she promised!" his voice was shaking... And dark pink tears were building within his eyes

Torvil sighed. "Surion... Calm down... Or at least try..." He righted himself to his full height, which granted, was ALL that tall considering his parentage. "She was probably extremely distressed, and people do things differently when they're scared or hurt, or completely and totally out of their wits..."

"How about not remembering anyone or anything" Surion mumbled dropping into a armchair and burying his face into his hands letting the tears fall

Torvil frowned. "That would do it too..." He said as he moved over and put a hand on his shoulder. "You'll find her..." He said softly. "Don't worry, just have faith..."

"It's my fault dad, it's my fault she's gone" For the first time in days... since the night she left... his shoulders tremmored as he cried, he was just glad that it seemed the Pae were all in other areas of the house

Torvil frowned and rubbed his son's back. "Shhhh... How is it your fault?" He asked, patting and rubbing and trying to calm him down.

"She can't remember anything, I laid with her... till she was asleep, I left the room for just a few minutes, I had to calm down before I snapped, I was only gone five minutes... When I came back... she was gone" he sobbed

"That's not your fault Surion..." He said softly, patting his back. "She left of her own accord... She probably didn't know what she was doing... Just calm down.. breath... You have to sort this out..."

"If I hadn't have left her, she wouldn't have left... She wanted me to stay with her, lay with her... but I left, I left thee room, how ca you say that's not my fault" he says he couldn't justify to himself how it wasn't

Torvil took a deep breath and geared back his hand, smacking Surion upside the back of the head. "You left because you couldn't handle it... you're human, you're not perfect, you can't be perfect, get over it... I screw up all the time with your mum, you think I spend my time bawling about it!" He grumbled and stood. "Get a HOLD of yourself man..."

Surion winced feeling his father's hand on the back of his head. In a calmer voice he spoke "I told her I wouldn't let him hurt her again.... And then I even find out the one who hurt her... his twin is Nani's best friend" he says not even looking up

Torvil was quiet for a moment and then he spoke. "Then kill him..." He said flatly.

"I can't..." Surion finally looked up, his cheeks pink from his own tears as he looked towards his father

"What do you mean you can't..." He said softly leaning against the nearest wall. "Do you mean you won't?"

"No dad, I already almost did kill him... remember? you asked me where the blood on my pants came from... I can't" Surion stands up and walks across the room looking out the window into the forest

"What's stopping you?" He asked, turning and looking at the back of his hand, checking out the nails.

"He's dead" Surion says bluntly "He's already been killed" he didn't turn around just stared into the trees, not even knowing that he was staring in the very direction she was

"A shame..." Torvil spat on the floor, grumbling a bit. "I would have gladly helped you track him down... Who got him?"

"Dad, don't spit on my floor please...." he really cared about the home he shared with his mate "As for who got him... I think it was Nyoka, but I'm not sure, I haven't come across her yet to ask..."

Torvil nodded, "Sorry... Old habit..." He chuckled weakly, and straightened again. "Are you going to be okay? Or should I stay awhile more..."

Surion turns and looks at his dad "I came to drop off those things... I'm not going to be ok... not till after I find her, till she's home safe and sound" he admits

Torvil nodded. "That's to be expected..." He said and moved over to him touching his shoulder again. "You will find her..." He said with a nod, before touching his cheek. "I should go..." He murmured and bowed his head. "Good luck to you Surion..."

"Dad if you see her.. no matter where... don't let her leave, please..." he doubted he'd see her, but it never hurt to ask

Torvil nodded and moved his hand from Surion's face. "I will Surion, I will... You have my word... Good luck..." He bowed his head once more and headed out the door.

Surion watched him leave and the collapsed in the chair again to finish his cry...

Torvil sighed and took to the air, heading for home.

Search For Nani Part 7: Running into Lenore
Surion had decided once he had dropped off the stuff and after having seen Shina that Tari's suggestion of the forest was a valid one. He slipped into the house briefly exiting once again without a sound carrying his spear, Senti wrapped around his upper arm and resting on his shoulder he started searching, he paid little attention to the time even as the sun sank past the horizon.

Lenore is already out hunting, despite the slight stinging of the sun's sinking rays on her exposed skin, and in her eyes.

Luckily, for her, she has found some moron around the edges of the forest. If she is lucky, she can get home around the time that Eirnae comes back from her dancing.

Soundlessly, she stalks her prey. She is a rather wonderful specimen of the human race, Lenore's prey. Clearly dressed for clubbing, and a night of seduction.

Even if Lenore is not her cup of tea, she will get her. Moving closer, she steps out of the trees, and follows, as soundlessly as ever, at a rapid pace, her tail motionless behind her as her muscles coil in anticipation. She can feel her canines and eyeteeth growing longer, and she knows that her eyes are starting to swirl with the crimson hue.

Surion's keen scent picks up a familiar scent, nope not Nani, but still family. A moment of thought tells him it's one of her aunts...

He walks through the trees crystal tipped spear at his side, when he sees her hunting though he slows and stops, Her prey on the other hand he feels sorry for, but like his own hunting, yet different from hers, he knows it would be wrong to distract or warn the prey

Lenore's own keen nose picks up on Surion's scent. She holds up a hand, warning him to stay back. When she feeds, she gets lost. It is best to leave her be until she has cooled down. She would attack her own son in her frenzy.

She picks up the pace, and comes up beside the woman. "Hello, lovely evening, isn't it?" she asks, her voice throatier than usual, and her accent adding a musical note to her voice.

The woman blinks, and looks over at Lenore. Their eyes meet, and Lenore holds hers there. The woman can't seem to look away, and Lenore steps in front of her. Reaching up, she places the palm of her hand on the woman's cheek. She smiles when the woman tilts her head to the side, exposing her neck.

Her eyes are all crimson, now, as she lowers her lips to the woman's neck. She smells the blood, and feels her fangs grow even longer. It isn't too long before she sinks her teeth into the skin of the woman's neck, and allows the blood to spill. She sinks her talons into the woman's arms as she holds her closer, tearing at the skin there as her fingers move.

She drinks, until the woman is on the brink of death. Lenore doesn't kill. She pulls her head back, breathing the air around her in great gulps, her eyes closed, a low growl in her throat. She can feel the blood burning through her, making her want more. Through sheer will, she stays where she is.

It is a long while before she is feels herself coming down from the feralness. Her body stops trembling with the hunger for more, and she brings the talons of one of her hands out of the woman's skin. She looks down with her still-crimson eyes, and sees the damage she has caused. She searches in her pocket for the potion she keeps with her, and starts to put it on the puncture marks and tear marks that her talons have caused.

When she is finished, she lies the healing woman on the grass, and looks around. "Surion, is there something I can help you with?" her voice still carries the throaty quality that it did before, which is a sign that she is still coming down.

Surion had long leaned against a tree, he could smell the blood plain as day, he liked drinking it himself but unlike Lenore he did not require it to survive. "I'm searching for Nani" he says in a serious steady yet quiet tone,. If she looks him over he'll have a look of not enough sleep and he is unkempt, clean but not pressed. His long hair tied back out of his face, his pendant lazily against his chest and the spear in the crook of his arm leaning against him

Lenore blinks, the crimson slowly fading to the outer edges of her eyes, until, finally, they are amber again. She stands, and wipes the blood from the corners of her lips. She looks over at Surion, and notes his appearance.

Feeling horrible for saying such a thing, she admits, "I am sorry, Surion. I had not known that she was gone. . . ." She has been so occupied with her wedding plans, and helping Damien with his the best that she could, that she hadn't even spoken to her brother or Krista. "How long has she been missing?"

"A while now, day after the attack actually" Surion says standing more upright and fidgeting with the spear Eirnae had given him "I've been trying to find her ever since, Tari suggested checking the forest... it's why I'm out here"

Lenore frowns. Her family is just one bundle of drama. One after the other. There never seems to be any escaping it.

And, while she loves them all, she wants to just slap them, and tell them to stay the hell at home for a week or so, so that she can get her bearings every once in a while!

Of course, this is purely selfish thinking, and she would never voice such things to anyone other that her love, and even then only if she was so fed up that she couldn't take anymore. "As I was walking through, I did not catch her scent, Surion. Do you want me to help you look around?" she asks, thinking of any places that Nani might go.

"I didn't catch it anywhere away from the house either, if you want to help ok, I'm not giving up, I'm not going to stop looking, Only sleep I've even had or late was uhm... after bonding to Senti" at the sound of his name the small dragonette on his shoulder lifts his head and looks curiously at Lenore, in Surion's head he chitters
'Senti see Senti help find too, Senti help bonded'

Lenore knows all too well that feeling, and her understanding is laid bare in her heavy-lidded eyes. She only hopes that Nani is not gone as long as her love was from her.

Memories of sitting in the window seat for days on end, becoming Alasseo, essentially, come unbidden into her mind. She shakes them out, and nods. "Speaking from past experience," she says, rubbing her jaw as if Nyoka slapped her with all of her force only yesterday, "You have to take care of yourself, as well, Surion. It will not help her if you pass out from exhaustion."

Lenore eyes the little creature, quirking an angled brow as she does so. "How much of the forest have you covered?" Hells, if they want to cover this all, she is going to have to call Nyoka. Nyoka is the one with the centaur friends, and the better tracker than herself.

"Just really between here and the house" he admits looking back over his shoulder in the general direction of his and Nani's house "I started some time shortly before lunch and haven't stopped since. To be honest? I have no idea, I don't think I can honestly say I know just how big it is" he sighs and looks at the ground, as much as he did NOT want to admit it it seemed almost hopeless

Lenore reaches into her pocket and pulls out her cell phone. She dials a number, and hisses into the receiver. When she hangs up the phone, she looks at Surion. "I have called Nyoka. She isn't going to meet us anywhere, but she has friends here that I do not. She is going to get in touch with the centaurs, and they will talk to the elves. She'll be searching with Iphigenia in another part of the forest," she pauses and offers what she hopes is an encouraging smile. "If she's here, Surion, we will find her."

Surion nods giving her a weak smile of his own, he couldn't give wide smiles, his heart just wasn't in it. "Thanks Lenore, I do appreciate the help, I can only hope that it's as simple as this to find her" he sighs and looks into the dense trees "Hopefully"

Senti unwinds from Surion's shoulder and upper arm and scitters up atop Surion's head spreading his wings and looking around as well

Lenore nods. "I am hoping it is that simple, as well. As much pain as she was in, she couldn't have gone too far, could she?" she asks, watching the little creature move on Surion. "It might be best if we split up from here. We have a lot of ground to cover. . . ."

"Yeah, split up... I have my cell on me, do you have the number?" he asks, he doubted she did, he'd only given the number to two people, Nani and his parents

"No, I don't," Lenore admits, flipping open her phone again. "I'll give you mine, as well," she adds, ready to recieve his number, and then rattle off her own.

Surion nods and pulls out his spotted cell phone, after a minute of looking he finally tells it to her, he himself hadn't memorized the number, and when she gives him hers it takes a couple more minutes beyond that to get it actually IN the phone

Lenore nods, not taking very long in getting the number in her phone. If there is one thing she knows about, it is gadgets.

Once she is finished, she nods, and looks back at Surion, again. "This is where we part, then. Surion, I really hope that you consider what I told you. You really won't do anyone any good if you are dead on your feet."

"Yeah.. I know... I just.." he sighs "Every time I think about sleep, I think about what if I could have found her during that time I was asleep" he pushes the cell back into his pouch "Okay,... well should keep looking"

Lenore shakes her head. "I felt the same way, trust me. Don't wait until you have someone like Nyoka literally slapping you," she says, softly.

Then, she waves. "We'll find her," she says, in a firm tone. With that, she starts toward the trees again.

Surion nods and turns walking in another direction into the trees and once again into solitude.

The Search ~ The Last Hope ~ The Change

Surion looked like he hadn't changed in days, what did he care, it most certainly wasn't on the top of his priority list... ok yeah he had, and yeah he had bathed too. Quickly and haphazardly, Clothing looked rumpled from just being shoved in drawers still warm from drying. Sleep.. well that was another story, it hadn't happened. Not that this was a good thing for the male, it was simply at the VERY bottom of his list of important things to do... He'd seen just about anyone who he thought MIGHT know where Nani was... save her mother, and that's where he was headed

Krista was sitting outside under the tree, she was trying her best to try to keep up a brave face around her family. Looking up at the sky she let a single tear run down her face before wiping it away. She had searched everywhere that she could think of to find her daughter. Coughing alittle she pushes her hand though her blond to pale orange curly hair before standing. No she wasn't going to cry, she wasn't going to become weak, not when she was needed by her daughter.

Brushing her pants leg off she look towards the forest, she was tempted to go looking again. She felt as if she was missing a place, she just didn't know where.

Surion flew on the hoverboard across the Emerald Haven grounds, from his and Nani's home, to the Haven itself. He came around the side of it and was about to turn the disc towards the door when he spotted the one he'd come to talk to. He flew straight at her coming to an abrupt stop jumping off the disc not even grabbing at it... as he landed directly beside her "Mum!"

Krista hisses jumping away from Surion, she didn't expect him landing near her. Looking up at him she bites her bottom lip before pushing her hand through her hair "Oh hey Surion. Sorry you scared me, um you okay sweetie?" she looked him over then looked away trying to blink back the tears. She knew this had to be hurting him the most. Tinania has left without a word, not even to him, and she knew he had been looking for her since her disappearance.

"Uhm not really..." he shakes his head, his hair pulled back in a loose ponytail to lessen the amount of work he had to do with it. "Please tell me you've heard something... anything... you gotta have some idea where she could have gone" his voice was thick with emotion, a large combination of worry, pleading and mostly, stress

Krista looks up at him biting her bottom lip, frowning she shakes head head "Surion by the goddess I wish I have. But I haven't heard anything from her, I spent two days looking for Tinania. I only just got back, I was thinking of heading back out to try and find her again." she pauses then looks down "I wish I knew Surion, I would tell you anything if I knew where she was, you know it.." she looked up, her eyes were watery. She was speaking the truth, she knew nothing just like him.

"She couldn't have just disappeared, I.. I refuse to believe that... Mum she's GOT to be somewhere... She wouldn't leave me.... she promised that.." ok his words may be a lil mixed, or not... but his mind also wasn't thinking straight... his heart was screaming, it refused to believe

Krista looked down at the ground closing her eyes, breathing slowly she looks back up at him "Surion she left during the night sweetie. None of us saw where she went, I've tried to track her Surion. But she not here at all, I don't think she wants to be found..." she looks back towards the forest, this was tearing from the inside out. She hated seeing the pain in his eyes.

"She CAN'T be gone, she CAN'T not want to be found, she HAS to be somewhere" his voice was raising, coming close to near hysteria, Krista was his last hope, after her there was no others. "She told me she wouldn't hide, she wouldn't leave, she... she..." he clung to Krista's sleeve.

Krista pulled Surion into her arms holding him "Surion, shhh I know how you feel hun. But none of us can do anything sweetie. We all have tried looking for her, everything been done. There is nothing more we can do..." she was trembling, she needed to be strong for the boy but her will was slowly breaking. How could she make him believe something when even she didn't.

Surion broke down in her arms, he shivered had in her arms, a coolness that would likely be able to be felt through his shirt as he cried into her shoulder

Krista held him close trying her best to comfort him. It was all she could do, she didn't know how else she could help him. Running her hand though his hair she looks down at him "Surion you need to calm down hun. Nani wouldn't want you getting upset and sick, come on let get you inside, you look like you need to rest." she tries to push him towards the house in hope that maybe he would agree with her.

"No... rest... no rest... till she returns" he says stubbornly, it had been his intention, and he didn't want to change that. Though he took a step at her push he stumbled and fell in pain, his back going from feeling like it was in a freezer... to warm and progressively hotter, a heat definitely obvious to the touch as to him it felt like someone had set his back alight

Krista bent down to help him back up, laying her hand on his back she pulled her hand back just as fast gasping. She felt like her hand was just set on fire. Looking back at Surion she frown helping him up by the arms "Surion come on hun, you have to rest. Its not a good thing if you don't rest."

Surion shook his head not supporting his own weight at all, landing back on his knees, if it was possible he was even hotter then before, and he was sweating profusely what hadn't been tucked back of his bangs was sticking to his face, as was the silk fabric of his shirt to his back

Krista bites her bottom lip not liking this at all. Kneeling down by him again she wraps her arm around his waist lifting him up. "Come on Surion we gotta get you inside, we'll go looking for Nani later." she wanted to get him inside, she could tell something was wrong, and she needed him inside in order to check or to call someone.

Surion's only response was a low growl, a growl that was very very much filled with pain, not emotional but physical, beneath his sweat soaked shirt was movement in the area of his shoulder blades, almost like small points pushing out against a strong rubber and then returning to the previous location before repeating the action and never in the exact same direction twice in a row, sometimes perpendicular from his back, sometimes on an angle...

Krista closes her eyes hearing the growl, she wasn't sure why he had done it as she was not watching his back. Taking his hand she places it around her neck so she could help him move "Come on sweetie, we just gotta get you inside. That what you need, then to lie down. You need rest..." she tries to help him move towards the house.

Her moving would wind up being more of a dragging action as Surion repeatedly wanted to just collapse to the ground, he did growl more though tears, dark pink tears slid down his cheeks mixed amongst the beads of sweat that rolled along his skin and the movement on his back continued.

Krista own strength gave way and she fall to the ground with him, breathing slowly she tries to get up. Only when she moved did she see the movement on his back. Arching a brow she shakes her head as her claw grew "Sorry Surion.." she didn't think twice as she tore the shirt from his back using one swipe with a single claw. She was making sure she didn't hit his back.

Surion rocked slightly as he sat, he didn't care in the least if she hurt his shirt. On his back, which could easily be seen as his hair had fallen over his shoulder as he rocked, were two round black circles, no larger then a couple inches in diameter each, one each on the lower half of each shoulder blade... and trying to push threw, two small spiny wings, one from each, they'd cut a bit of skin and then be fought back by healing, a healing that was caused by his body and would have been obvious if his flickering gem hadn't been covered with matted hair

Krista gasps covering her mouth in shock and horror. She couldn't move for about a minute before she caught her breath moving towards Surion. She touched his cheek lightly as she squeezed his hand "Surion what happening to you?" she tried to wiped the tears from his face as she tried to think.

Surion himself did not know, he'd never experienced the change, nor had he seen one, all he knew is it could happen "pain" he gasped out, the burning feeling had gone away and was simply replaced with extreme pain inside and out, the blood that dripped down his back staining the waistband of his pants

Krista was trembling as she ripped her shirt clear across her stomach. Running over she dips the cloth into the pond before getting back up and wiping the blood off his back. She was trying to think of what to do, her mind was so out of it that she never really thought about calling his family.

The water felt nice, the little it was actually felt as he rocked on the grass, it hurt, it hurt more then anything he'd ever felt before, and that caused him to begin to loose control over the hiding of his scars. slowly appearing down his back parallel to his spine were long scars, like a very large creature had dug it's claws in at the shoulders and pulled all the way to his waist

Krista had turned the moment the scars started appearing, dipping the cloth back into the water she rings it out then turns back towards him. That was when her eyes widen in shock. Looking down at Surion she swallows hard before pulling her wand out, looking toward the window, she spotted her phone on the coffee table. Aiming the wand at the cell phone she spoke clear "Accio cell phone!!"

Her phone came flying out of the house through the open window and into her hand. Wiping at the blood once more she dials the number to Surion's home then pressed talk. She glances back at Surion biting her bottom lip as she spoke softly though clenched teeth "Please pick up Ala.."

The scars spread, more around his sides, and front and shoulders and arms, they didn't stop till every single one showed in full force

Ala looked up, the phone was ringing.. well that didn't happen much anymore, not since her son had moved out. Standing and walking lazily tot he phone she picked it up and looked a the display, well there was a name she hadn't see on her phone in a while. She hit the button and put the phone to her ear moving to sit again " 'llo Krista"

Krista smiles shaking her head for a moment speaking faster then she would have liked "Ala Surionhe got something comingout ofhis back, at leastthere trying tocomeout, but he keepstryingtoheal himself." she was gasping for breath as she wiped up more of the blood.

Surion rocked, he felt dizzy, from the pain, from the healing, from the stress...

Ala sat up "Whoa slow down Krista I barely got that... who and.. what?"

Krista breaths again very slowly this time, she was trying not to tremble or speak to fast this time "Surion got something coming out of his back, or at least trying to come out, but he keeps healing himself. I don't know what to do. He looks like he in extreme pain." she wipes at Surion's brow then his back again before dipping the cloth into the water again.

"Things coming out of..." her voice trailed off. There was a 'thunk' sound and the sound of someone running in the back ground hollering for Torvil.. and then silence

Krista arched a brow looking the phone before calling out "Ala!!!!" she frowns then looks back at Surion shaking her head, biting her bottom lip she ripped the cloth of her long skirt this time up to her mid thigh. Dipping it into the water she add wipes the blood as she spoke into the phone again "Ala please answer me. I don't know what to do..."

No further sound came from the phone but near them a soft 'pop' and quick footsteps as Ala hurried over looking at the scene

Surion didn't even notice his mother's arrival at the Haven growling deeply a growl very full of pain

Krista turns when she hears the pop, gasping she hangs up her phone watching Ala "I don't know what going on Ala, he was fine one minute then next this. I tried to get him inside but I couldn't. What happening to him?" she was still wiping at the blood, she didn't notice nor did she care that her good clothes had be destroyed.

"s**t, it's what I thought it would be, Krista he's changing, what was he doing before this started" she asked almost hurriedly, she did not once touch her son as she spoke even though she knelt beside him

Krista shook her head trying to think, looking up she frowns "He was asking about Tinania, I was trying to get him to go lay down, he looked like he hadn't slepted in days. It was at that point he got cold then blazing hot. Then this started happening.." she looked at Surion wishing she could help him out even more than now.

"Stress, it's what triggers change in his dragonic heritage, they are born wingless, severe stress causes change, first wings, like mine, and then later if they don't have one and it happens again... a tail" Ala tried to explain "Problem is... he has Kerrsalian heritage too, if he was just dragonic these would have fully erupted by now...but his Kerrsalian blood and powers is fighting it and healing it constantly..."

Surion growled loudly, it was the loudest indication of his pain, he didn't cry out, just growled, the flicking of his gem becoming less and less frequent

Krista bites her bottom lip, her hand ranking through her hair "This is all my fault, if only I could find Tinania" she looks at Ala her hands trembling badly "What do we do now? I mean how do we get those wings to come though?"

"It's not your fault Krista, honest, this doesn't start on one thing, it builds up, it means his stress has been building up for days... Without Torvil or Torvin there's nothing we can do. I can't even touch him" Ala watched her son "His body has to stop the healing and the only way to do that is the damper... And Torvil has that, and only Torvin seems to have inherited it from him" she bites her lip looking concerned

Krista shakes her head growling before looking back at Surion "s**t, if Nani was here this wouldn't be happening..." she was crying because of everything that has happen. From Tinania getting hurt, to her leaving to now this, she just didn't have the will to act strong anymore.

Surion rocked a few more times before his gem quit all together and he collapsed onto his side completely passed out.

Ala sighed "Krista, there's nothing you could have done, you don't control your daughter, just as much as I can't control Surion." she looked over slightly relieved to see her son passed out "I hope you can stand the sight of blood" she said quietly as the wings very slowly started tearing through his shoulders, through the skin that had repeatedly been healing, they were still small and spindly but they were casing a lot more then a trickle of blood to run sideways across his back and into the grass

Krista was also happy that Surion had passed out, until she saw the blood. Covering her mouth she turned away closing her eyes shut tightly. It wasn't that she couldn't stand it, it was the feline in her, she didn't want to have to try and control that creature within her. It along with the curse had already caused enough problems to last her a lifetime.

Ala moved away from Surion and then walked around him till she was in front of him "Come on, that's too slow" she murmured watching but not touching

They were indeed emerging too slow, Whereas they should have erupted within a minute and grown to their full size, Surion's were still pushing through, at a very slow speed

Ala grumbled something about wishing Torvil had been home and that he could have dealt with this before it got to that point.

Krista once she was certain she had the feline under control turns to look at Ala. Moving on all fours she sits on her knees pushing her hand though her hair once more "What do we do? I mean if there coming in too slow." she glances down at Surion's back biting her bottom lip. Was it a danger that the wings came in to slowly.

"Krista what I need is a bucket.." Ala said quietly her eyes not leaving her son, the wings stopped pushing out, but now they were growing, unfolding from themselves and becoming full sized wings even if the process was still slower then Ala would have liked

Nodding Krista got up racing back into the house, she didn't even say anything to anyone as she ran into the kitchen. Looking around she tried to remember where the house elf kept the bucket. She turned around until she smiled spotting it in the corner right next to the dishwasher. Grabbing it she raced out to the kitchen then back out of the house not bothering to close the door as she leaped down the stairs.

Falling to her knees she tosses the bucket toward Ala "There ya go Ala.."

Ala looked up barely in time to catch it closing her eyes as she did, in the time Krista had been gone the growings had become about half the size of her own. Backing up a little her eyes shift to their emerald green and she puts the bucket down filling it with Kerrsalian waters "Think you can deal with cleaning his back up after it's done? I have to heal those open wounds, his powers are out for the count... and that will very likely knock me out" she asks Krista without looking up again

Krista nods then giving a smile "Yea I'll be able to handle it." she bites her bottom lip trying to really not think about the blood. Breathing in slowly she dips the two cloths she had ripped from her clothes into the bucket getting them ready.

"When he's healed roll him onto his belly it'll be the most comfortable" she sat in wait till it was done. and then making sure she'd be out of the way by sitting above Surion's head she put her hand to his forehead touching his gem her own glowing very brightly under her bangs, she kept her eyes on her son

The tears in his skin, the places where the wings had pushed, prodded and then torn through his back began to heal closed. Ala's healing did nothing to change the mass number of scars on his back.

Krista nods, she just sat there watching. Her hands were in her lap, she didn't move or say anything. She just wanted this whole thing to end so Surion would stop being in pain.

Surion's back finally finished leaving in the wake of the healing, the 2 round nodes and from each a large lazily 'folded' wing, they were just as large as Ala's...

Ala barely had finished when her own gem flickered and went out and her eyes rolling slightly as her eyelids shut slumped onto her side on the grass

Krista watches for a moment more before she pushes her hair from her face again. Crawling over she pushes Surion onto his stomach just as she was toward making sure he would be comfortable. Dipping the cloths into the bucket again she runs them both over his skin cleaning up the blood with extreme care.

She could have been firmer it wouldn't have made any difference if anything he'd be sore, but not much else. All of his scars still showed, each of them even more obvious as the blood and sweat was cleaned from his back

Krista continues to wipe the blood and sweat from his back, only she leaned in closer as the scars became more visible. Stopping for a moment she runs a single finger over a scar. She knew the scars were from a feline. Looking up she arches a brow "Where did you get these Surion?" she shook her head then just ran her finger over the scars again as her hand shape shifted into a large paw her claws out.

Surion woke long before his mother "Ow" he whispers and then notices the feel of claws near his lower back and lifts his head and looks over his shoulder in rapid succession, the feeling of claws on his back is something he had not felt since he was a child

Krista gasps pulling her hand away laying it back in her lap, blushing she looks away biting her bottom lip "Sorry, I was just trying to see what feline made those marks on your back.." she felt so embarrassed now because she got caught but she couldn't help but wonder.

Surion relaxed seeing it was his mother in law "The same one who's spirit resides in Tez" he says quietly but that's all he said, he left it up to Krista to remember it

Krista sat there for a moment watching as her paw slowly changed back to a hand, flexing the hand alittle she looks up at him "A dire plains jaguar, I remember that real well. The look on your face when you got him..." she looks up at him with a small smile as she places both hands back into her lap "Are you okay?"

Surion looks at the grass for a few minutes before nodding and slowly pushing to sit "Ouch, man.. that hurt" and then he noticed his mum, hitting on his knees no just to one side of the front of Krista his front rather then his back visible, revealing the multitude of scars that littered it and his arms, much worse then the several long straight ones on his back "When did mum get here" he asked not concerned about the scars just then

Krista eyes widen slightly looking at the scars, anger welled up inside her like a mother cat trying to protect her young. Shaking her head she ranks her hand though her hair "I called her, she got here not to long ago..."

He had looked at her for an answer, he saw her eyes widen and her eyes looking at his torso "Oh yeah... that creature and humanoids don't mix..." he said quietly and then one by one he began to re-hide the scars, starting with the newest first and moving to the oldest they disappeared as if the injuries that had caused them were being reversed

Krista smiles alittle watching the scars each disappear. Standing slowly she walks over bending at the knees, her arms slipping under Ala's knees then around her back before she lifts her arm. Looking at Surion she tilts her head "Yea that what most people say, course then I guess I wouldn't be me then." with a wink she smiles "Nor would Nani for that matter...Come on let get you inside so you can finish cleaning up and also so that you mother can rest."

Surion looks up and then pushes to stand "Whoa" he isn't used to the extra weight on his back and has to catch his balance before he stands, a couple steeps to one side he grabs the still-floating hover disc "Okay, a lil slow going for me though" he says looking over his shoulder and experimenting with moving the new part of his body as he ambles in the direction of the Haven

Krista smiles then laughs "Reminds me of the first time I went from two legs to four then back. I was doing the same thing you were.." turning she walks towards the Haven holding her dear friend close to her body "Surion I want you to stay here for the night, only because of the fact that Tinania not with you..."

Surion tensed slightly at the mention of Nani's absence and then resigned himself tot he fact she was right, Nani wasn't there, he held back his emotion... his tears... "Okay" he agrees quietly slowly getting more steady on his feet as he heads for the door

Krista frowns alittle then tilts her head smiling alittle "Your not the only one who worried and misses her Surion...I miss her two...I miss my little spite..." her voice breaks for a moment before she shakes her head stepping up the stairs then into the house. Walking over to the couch she lays Ala onto in before pulling a cover up to her shoulders.

Surion nods and sits on the floor so that he didn't have to worry about the back of a chair "I know mum, I'm sorry for earlier... I.. It's just... she did promise... and... you... were... are my last hope... to find her" he lets his tears fall, there was no point in bottling it all up and getting stressed all over again

Krista looks over shaking her head "You don't have to be sorry Surion, none of us knew. I know I sure the hell didn't." she pauses her nails digging into the palm of her hands "We will find her Surion, I promise you that much..."

The reminder that his mate did not remember him, brought a pang to his heart and he closed his eyes "He better hope I never run into him" he whispered growling softly, he could only think of one person that would hurt Nani, one person she was truly afraid of.

Ala stirred and took a deep breath starting to come to under the blanket

Krista ruffles Surion's hair before walking over and sitting on the edge of the couch, tilting her head she smiles alittle "Ala you okay my friend?"

Surion sits stewing slightly in his own anger towards Ducan, he was glad the male was no longer around, but he wished he could have beent he one to rid of him.

Ala opened one eye and looked up at Krista before looking abouts and opening the other "Yeah... I'm fine" she pushes her torso up to rest on her elbows

Krista smiles nodding before looking over at Surion, she could tell from the way he was acting he was angry. Shaking her head she sighs "Surion don't get stressed out again hun. You don't need that right now...." she turns looking at Ala with a small smile "Anything I can get you?"

Surion looked up startled "What? oh... yeah" he sighed covering his eyes

Ala shakes her head and sits up "No.. thanks Krista..." she smiles "Surion come here please son"

Surion looks up and then gets up walking towards them

Nodding Krista stand stepping out of the way, she walks over looking down into the fire, she was still and seem to once again in control. But inside she was screaming and crying.

Surion sits beside his mother on the floor and the two converse quietly, the only part that may have been audible was

"First thing I want you to try is to see if you can get them back inside of your body... Close your eyes and think of a normal back..." Ala says softly remembering what Torvil had told her months earlier

Surion nods and closes his eyes and after a time the new wings folded tightly against themselves and slowly slid into his body via the 2 nodes

Krista had to walk away at this point, she goes into the kitchen leaning against the sink, her eyes were closed tight. Her chest was rising and falling quickly, she was determine to keep from breaking. Shaking her head she opens the fridge pulling out the Elven wine. Leaning once again against the sink she pops the bottle open and down about half of the wine.

Several minutes later Ala followed the scent of her friend, leaving Surion to practice all she had just instructed him and walks in seeing her friend with the bottle upside down as she drank "Hey, getting drunk won't help you find her, you need to be at your peek" Ala says quietly approaching her

Krista smiles shaking her head "This won't get me drunk Ala, its just helping me calm my nerves. Its not even the strong Elven wine.." she places the bottle down on the sink looking at the floor for a moment. Swallowing hard she looks back up her eyes filled with sadness and tears once more "What if we don't find her Ala? What if I lost my baby?" she was trembling her voice breaking a few times.

Ala sighs and stops right in front of Krista putting her hand on her shoulder "Have faith, she is a strong young woman... She will return, whether it be by our finding, or on her own... I lost one of my children at one point, it's the most horrible feeling in the world, one I would never wish upon anyone."

Krista pauses hearing Ala word, she tilts her head to the side looking at her "What do you mean?" that was all she could say, she didn't really trust herself at this point.

"My son died, you remember how I have mentioned I use the Nether?" she asks a lump growing in her gut as she knows she is going to have to tell something she never was planning on telling anyone

Krista nods crossing her arms under her chest "Yea I remember, in alot of ways it like what I do, only slightly different.." she glances at the ground going quiet before looking back up "Yea I do remember.."

"It's a lil more then slightly, to use the Nether one jump to the other side, to the land of the dead and the Necromancers" she sighs and licks her lips "Torvin and I had a major fight, back when Surion was just little still, he and his mate had had children and neglected to tell either myself or Torvil, we didn't find out till they were mature and had moved out." she pauses a moment "He came to the house from Kazeha, I still don't know exactly why he came, but I was still angry and I ... kept at him and he ran out the door and into the forest... and he got into some bane." Ala put her hand to her temple pausing in her explanation

Krista didn't speak, she didn't have to know the rest of the story for she could guess what had happen. Licking her bottom lip she looks up sighing "I'm so sorry Ala...."

Ala nodded "Torvil didn't find him in time, I chased him deep into the other side, it was the fist time I'd used the Kerrsalian strength of Nether jumping, with Torvil's help we brought his soul back and Torvil rended the veil... but I still don't know if I'll ever forgive myself for driving him to that extreme" she looks at her friend "So we have to keep the hope and believe that she will return.. and by Visha the one who did this had better hope they are NEVER seen by ANYONE related to me" she said the last sentence with a low growl

Krista winces hearing the last sentence come out in a growl, how was she suppose to tell everyone this person that attack Tinania could very well be within the estate right now. Pushing her hand though her hair she nods "Yea I hope this person doesn't either..."

Ala looks at her friend "I have a 8 foot tall Dragonic Lycan hunter for a brother in law who has sworn a blood oath to me to stand by my family line in and time of need.." she showed her hand with the scar of a cut across her palm "I will call him if I need to"

Krista looks away laughing alittle mostly out of not knowing what else to do "So I see...."

Ala sighs "Well Krista... I don't know what else I can say... Keep safe, keep hope, believe and don't give up..." she stood more upright "I should probably take my leave of you... I think I left my phone off the hook"

Krista nods then turns to her friend "Yes be safe my friends..." she hugs her then pulls away "Yea I think you did..."

Ala laughs and gives her friend a smile "Call if you need me to" and with that she vanishes with a soft 'pop'

Krista nods watching her friend vanish, looking down she shakes her head before walking out of the kitchen back into the living. She looked toward the couch to see if Surion was still sitting there.

He was in the room, but not sitting, wings folded away he stood with his back to the door just staring and photos

Krista walked up to stand next to him, there would have only be one picture Surion would be looking at. Tinania and Damien as kids sitting together and reading. She looks over at him touching his shoulder "I wish there was some way I could stop this pain your going though..."

"I miss her, more then I could ever say, and it's nothing like when I was grounded, it's worse. Then she was my girlfriend... now she's my mate... And I hate that there's nothing I can do about it" he says quietly, dark pink tears escaping his eyes to slip down his cheeks

Krista wipes the tears away then turns his head so she could look him in the eyes "We will find her Surion. Its just gonna take awhile. Tinania only would have run away if she was scared..." she looks down for a moment then sighs "I know she on the estate I just don't know where..."

Surion's blue eyes search hers, she seemed so sure of the words she spoke, he no longer knew what to expect... Nor what to think... She was his last hope, he prayed to Visha she was right

Krista looks down then shakes her head once more "I don't know how I know but she is still on this estate Surion, just somewhere that we can't get to her. So don't lose hope, when she ready to come back she will.." she kisses his forehead lightly then smiles pulling away "Beside she has a loving husband to come back to doesn't she?"

"Yeah, she does, one who wishes her to come back very soon..." he says and then yawns slightly, his days of going without sleep finally catching up to him

Krista brushes his hair from his face smiling "Why don't you head upstairs to go sleep, Tinania room is open to you.." she looks back to the picture then to him "Go on I know she wouldn't want you to get sick.."

Surion nods and turns... and almost as an after thought turns and takes hold of the photo "Hope you don't mind I borrow this" he says giving her a lingering look before heading for the staircase to the third floor

Krista arches a brow watching him leave before shaking her head "What on earth could he want that photo for?" with a shrug she sits down on the couch flipping the TV to watch the only thing she had on that day which happen to be Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Surion disappeared upstairs and out of sight....

War At the Cliffs: The Call To War
The 'rest' from passing out at Krista's house had helped give Ala enough strength to finish her day, when she returned home the house was still empty save for the Tahnee. she shut the cell which had turned itself off and then crawled into bed to sleep the rest of it off, she knew Torvil would wake her when he got home anyways

When Torvil came home however, things were not right. He walked in and touched her shoulder softly, then gently shook her awake. "Ala...Ala..." He murmured and slowly let go of her. "Ala... get up..."

Ala opened her eyes and lifted her head "What's wrong Torvil" she said her voice still had sleep in it

Torvil dropped a semi heavy cylindrical object in front of her. It was rough, and looked like paper. "The call..." he said softly. "We've been summoned... The Call to War has been given..." he said softly. "We need to get Surion..."

"Then go get him..." She peered out the window to see the sun up "He should be at home by now, I'll shower and get ready while you fetch him" she rolled and climbed out of bed heading for the shower so that she would be fresh and alert

Torvil nodded, and in a moment he was gone... He appeared on the front stoop of Surion's home, and started to pound hard on the door. "Surion! Surion!"

The window to an upper floor open Surion heard his father's call, he also knew why.. "Come in dad, I'm in the second room on the second floor" he yells back his back was to the door of that room and his hair still pulled in it's rough ponytail falling between the shoulder blades like it had been for as long as he'd been searching for his wife, he was shirtless, and wearing a pair of deerskin trousers and that was it, he was in the process of getting ready

Torvil nodded and closed his eyes, the next moment he was in the room with Surion, in too much of a hurry to care about the consequences of two straight jumps in a row, too focused in fact. "Then I see you got the call..." he said with a nod. "Good... Once you're ready we'll head back and connect up with your mother... Then head out... I'm sorry that this interrupts your search for Nani... But you know the law..."

"Yeah I know the law dad, I just have to write her a note, I don't want her coming back and thinking I left her" he said and sidesteps to one side leaning and grabbing a pen and a paper tipping his head down to write his short letter to his wife, his ponytail slipping over his shoulder to hang down his front as he wrote

"Congratulations by the way, a bit belated I see..." He said with a nod. "Not so much for the means as for the ends..." He said, nodding his head. "Those will be very helpful in the coming days..." he chuckled.

Surion pauses and looks over his shoulder quirking a brow at his father before resuming his letter unsure what he meant but knowing he had to get it done. He wrote for a couple minutes and then folded the note in half before grabbing it up an heading for the master bedroom to put it on her pillow

"Your wings..." Torvil blurted when Surion left. "I was talking about your wings!" He stuck his head out of the door, frowning. Did the boy even know they'd come into being?

"Oh! yeah ... thanks dad... they showed up yesterday while I was with Nani's Mum" he ducks into the bedroom placing the letter and making sure it wont blow away before returning to the 2nd room and pulling the window closed

Torvil nodded. "Yeah..." He said, "So? Are you ready to go?" He asked, frowning a little. Today was not a good day... not a good day at all, for anyone in the family.

Surion drops his alchemy necklace on the shelf and nods taking hold of the spear Eirnae gave him "Ready as I'll ever be, all the rest of my hunt stuff is back at the cliffs so I don't really need anything other then this, was just making sure everything was closed up here and a letter left for Nani..." He takes a deep breath and sighs then walks over to his father

Torvil touched Surion lightly on the shoulder, and in a moment, they were gone, only to appear again in the living room Torvil and Ala's house. The stay in the nether was very short, barely even a second, long enough only for Torvil to change directions. When he let Surion go, he blinked for a moment, his eyes growing a bit fuddled. He shook his head and grimaced. "Alright... Lets get your mum and get ready to go..." He said, He would change when he got there, as he left everything there... Not only that... But he wanted to keep his normal clothes on as long as possible... The less the enemy know of his side, the easier it would be to get into the besieged cliffs.

Surion nods "You stay..." he didn't get a chance to finish his words as Ala stood in the door

"Torvil Rakamash, no more straight jumps... I'll do the jumping for the rest of this trip" she said firmly with no room for argument "and you WILL rest for a bit before fighting, last time you straight jumped that many times you almost killed yourself!" she walks barefoot across the room wearing only cliff garb and a pouch around her waist that rested on her hip

Torvil was not about to argue with her. "Yes Love..." He said with a nod, closing his eyes. "I do need a break..." he murmured. "My head hurts... just a little..." He huffed quickly and shook his head again. "Alright... We're all ready to go... Ala Love... I need you to jump us into the hunters lounge... Hopefully they're still holding it... Vina's letter said they were having trouble holding it, and were moving the totems out and down into the defensible lower cliffs..."

Ala nods and touches both her son's shoulder who closes his eyes and her husband's shoulder and with a loud 'CRACK!' she jumped them straight to the lodge

Torvil blinked a few times quickly and he looked about, he quickly jumped into a very defensive stance, but relaxed when he noticed the people around them were dragons.

Ala's eyes were green when she looked around and she breathed a lil easier seeing they still were holding it "Ok then what is happening" she was getting right down to business giving her mate a meaningful 'look'

Surion smiled for only a moment, he knew the situation was not one to smile at, but he liked this building

Torvil waved over one of the sentries. "Fill us in..."

The Sentry nodded looking them over. "Torvil Rakamash... I see... Elder Vina said you would be coming... here is what we know so far... The Ravens hold the uppermost cliffs, we've moved all of our people down to the lower cliffs... However, all but Elder Vina and Malkar rallied a small fighting force and moved to a counter attack... There were... heavy causalities... only one of the hunters survived..." He frowned. "Right now we're trying to hold or position, but it doesn't look promising..."

Ala nodded "Do we have an aerial view of what's happening, or have we stuck with the view we have from the ground?"

Surion crosses his arms listening to the words of the sentry, he hoped his cousin was not among those who were dead

The Sentry shook his head. "Anyone trying to go airborne is swarmed... They've taken control of the upper cliffs and the air... Sadly they fly a lot better than most of us do... and well... They have more numbers than us... We did not know they were breeding an army..."

Ala frowns "Well lets see if we cannot fix that" and with that her wings unfurl and she disappears, but not into the nether, if anyone pays attention they may see anything hanging near the ceiling move slightly as if a new breeze has formed

Torvil frowned. "Be very careful love..." He murmured and let her go, knowing that stopping her would be futile... So he just hoped and prayed to Visha that she wouldn't be spotted.

She flew straight up watching where she was going and completely invisible, she was trying to get a view of the Upper Cliffs to help them, she might be able to, she might not, she wasn't sure but either way she had a closed fist of energy ready regardless

There was a lot of Ravens in the sky and on the upper cliffs, they had entire camps on the top of the plateaus and in the caves. They seemed to be planning a raid on the lodge.

Ala got what she needed and in one series of motions threw the energy HARD at one of their larger camps and dove from the sky before they would reach the origin of the energy which she had purposefully picked to be away from above the lodge

Suffice it to say, there was chaos in the camp, but it was sorted out quickly, and a group was dispatched to her previous location, only to find nothing, which caused much questioning.

Ala dove till just above the lodge before ghosting it's roof once more and landing ot e floor becoming visible once more "Perhaps that will delay them, they have a whack of camps up there, "We have got to secure everything important from this building it appears to be the target"

They nodded. "We have... Everything has been moved, we've been holding it if only because it makes a good guard post..." The Sentry stated. "We really should move tho..."

"Yes" Ala nods and looks at her husband and son "Well I suppose we should prepare to fight..."

"Visha protect us" Surion says softly and then nods

Torvil nodded. "Actually... Ala... you take Surion and half these men, and I'll take the other half... I'll fly towards one of the other cliff faces, and you two make a break for the lower cliffs.

Ala nods "You keep save love" she leans close kissing his cheek and whispering in his ear "May our strength be with you my Claw-Killer" and then she pulls away looking at the others "All right lets do this"

Surion nods "Lets get this done" and with that he too unfurled his new wings pulling them close to him ready to go

Torvil nodded and let his wings unfurl, he stripped down quickly and changed into more suitable clothes. He took a spear, and handed some to Ala and Surion. He moved to Surion and leaned close to his ear. "If I fall... I want you to take your mother down to the cliffs no matter what... Okay?" He said, turning his head, and heading out ahead of them with his group of men.

Surion nods taking the spear in his hands moving his hand where he was comfortable "Come on, they are giving us cover lets take advantage of it"

Ala nods her agreement "We must protect our cliffs, even if it means giving up the ledge for the time being"

There was the sound of pitched combat outside suddenly, a loud and dangerous sort of noise. You could hear Torvil's voice tho, commanding men to fall back. It was obvious by the sound of his voice he didn't intend to until everyone was through.

Ala made a dart for the door followed by her own party and Surion tailed the caboose as they headed for the lower cliffs and where they were meeting up

Surion looked up hoping before darting inside as well looking to see who all was there

Many of the others were already moving away from the combat, and Torvil and about three others remained. Torvil had a spear or two sticking out of him, and he was trying hard to fight back... It wasn't long till he and the three got surrounded... and then... The group of Raven's broke... and Torvil plummeted towards the ground, five spears sticking out of him... The other two men who had been with him had pulled from combat, and they dove after him, they caught the body of Torvil, and quickly headed towards the lower caves, the Raven's hot on their heels.

Ala ran out hearing their approach and smelling it too, Surion was on her heals, both had bright green eyes and both intended to provide the 3 some backup.

Surion had learned about his energies from his aunt, he simply had never tried using them till now. Side by side they stood aiming past the trio and releasing balls of energy at the chasing ravens

The Ravens, noting the energy blasts steering towards them, pulled away, and a few got taken, they plummeted and fell, their bodies falling to break on the sharp rocks below. The Rest pulled away, and the hunters were able to make it safely back inside the new outpost. They lay Torvil down, but they were already shaking their heads.

Ala ran in after them leaving Surion and the other hunters to deal with any ravens who may double back, spears and energy blasts is what would meet them, Surion had gotten a rather quick grasp when he got angry seeing his father's injuries

The other hunters had already pulled the spears from his body, but they were shaking his head. "He's dead..." They muttered amongst themselves. "They coat those damn spears with Dragon's Bane... and he took five... He's dead..." One of them nudged him with his foot. "He's gone..."

Ala pushed past them with a growl "Shut up all of you, get to defending the cliffs" she kneels beside him praying they weren't right and he wasn't gone... she leans forward and brushes his white bangs aside kissing his red gem

Surion runs back in when it was safe "Where are the Elders?" he asks one of them

"Elder Vina and Malkar are in the back room..." He frowned, looking over at Ala and Torvil. "I fear we'll see more scenes like that soon enough..." He grimaced. "Would you like me to take you to them?"

Torvil's body remained motionless, his eyes shut in what looked like sleep. He did not breath, and his flesh was cold to the touch. He was, to all observers, dead.

Surion shook his head "My mother wont give up people easily... yes take me to my sister" he said his wings rustling as he turns away from the scene before his anger exploded

He nodded his head. "Alright..." The hunter walked into the back room, and looked about. "Elder Vina... your brother is here to see you..."

"Let him in..." Vina sounded exhausted.

Surion thanked the man and entered the room

Vina looked at Surion. "My..." She smiled. "You've done well..." She sighed. "Where's father and mother? Please tell me they made it...."

"Mum is in the process of trying to save father, out in the main room, dad took several of the sentry and hunters to provide backup so the rest of us could get here... and uhm" Surion sighed and held up 5 fingers

Vina swore. "GET HIM IN HERE NOW! Malkar, get Ryo..." She stomped back and forth. "THAT DUMBASS!"

Surion winced, oh the anger of his sister.... "Vina.... calm a bit....." and this was coming from a male who not 24 hours previous had stressed HIMSELF out to the point of change

Vina turned her head towards Surion and she stomped the distance between them, she slapped her hand hard against his chest. "CALM DOWN! CALM DOWN!" She tossed her head back and screamed loudly, then stalked away from him. "When father is back on his feet... THEN I will calm down..." She growled and flopped into her chair.

Two hunters entered the room, carrying Torvil's Body, they were followed by Ryo.

"Vina! Calm down now! We both have reasons to be angry, father for his stubbornness, and my wife is missing! calm down! I didn't and look where that got me!" his wings widened slightly

Ala had walked to a back area of the main room TRYING to collect herself as her husband's body was drug away... Her people could save within the brink of death... why hadn't she been able to

Ryo looked over Torvil and he huffed. "The both of you need to be quiet..." He said pointing at Vina and Surion. "And if you can't do that I'll have you both muzzled..." He knelt beside Torvil's head and opened his mouth. He pulled a Vial from his pouch and poured it down his throat. Then he took another Vial out and drank that himself. He then looked at Torvil's wounds. "This will make things difficult... but not impossible..." He said softly. He then started to pound his fists down hard on Torvil's chest, then he gave him a few breaths of air... then started to pound his chest again.

Surion glared at his sister, he knew that she couldn't have known Nani was missing, but he was just keeping his stress level back and her anger wasn't helping his at Nani's attacker

Vina just sat there in silence steaming and fuming. She paced, growling darkly. This was not an easy thing for her...

Suddenly, Torvil gave a weak cough, and his body started to shake. Ryo pulled away, and scooted back. "There... Hopefully in time to prevent insanity..." He said. The concept of brain damage and suffocation weren't quite firm yet in the cliffs.

Ala wandered into the room shortly after a hand rubbing her temple "Vina, what's the status of our hunters, healers and the like" she said her eyes closed she had tried to block out the presence of her mate's body being there for the time being

Surion watched Ryo after a few minutes his arms crossed

Torvil let out another cough again, slightly louder, his body shaking really badly.

Vina frowned and looked to Ala. "So far... we've lost about ten men... most of them to surprise attacks... Save the main assault led by the old Elders... Our Healers... well... They're doing okay... We have a constant stream of casualties tho..." She frowned. "Injuries mainly..."

Surion reaches over and nudges his mother motioning his father

Ala nods "I think I'll stay here to deal with injuries mainly, and help defend right here" she looked where Surion motioned and her eyes widened slightly and she heads for him pulling Surion with her, for the first time truly looking at his wounds

Torvil coughed again, the wounds starting to bleed slowly. They were pretty nasty, and a few of them looked like they weren't being healed fast enough. It was obvious from the way Torvil was not moving, and only coughing an breathing shallowly, that he had no energy left to spare to healing, and that if he didn't get energy soon... He was going to die... Again

"Surion ... heal" it was all Ala said and she put her hands over Torvil's eyes and gem her own gem lighting up

Surion nods avoiding any place that may have bane putting his hands down too letting his healing power flow

Torvil's coughs grew stronger, and his shaking grew less and less. Finally, Torvil coughed very loudly, leting loose what had to be a decent amount of blood from his lungs. He shook heavily and groaned, coughing weakly again but breathing normally. "ow..."

Still touching him the pair move to carefully roll him onto his side so he doesn't swallow any of the blood he just got rid of... Both's gems still working, at least till Ala pushes Surion away not wanting both of them knocked out

Torvil coughed up a bit more blood before finally he just went nice and limp. "Ugh..." he murmured, shaking a little. "What hit me?"

Ala slumped down sliding tot he floor her gem going out having dealt with the last of it alone

Surion sighed "five spears did" and then looked back towards his sister and looking at Senti who scittered off his spear up onto his shoulder to help Surion's energy levels.

"Ow..." He grunted..."

Vina had infact calmed down. She smiled seeing her father okay.

"You and your mum... you guys make it okay? Anybody else get nailed?"

Surion nods "Yeah everyone else made it, mum and I made them retreat and killed a few ravens that chased you and the other back here

Torvil smiled. "Where is your mum?" he asked softly, not able to turn his head an see her, he didn't know how close she was.

"Behind you on the floor" Surion said having sat down to regain his own energy

Torvil nodded weakly. "That's good to know... Seeing as I can't move..."

Surion nods and then looks at Malkar "Ok what's the plan as yet"

Malkar nodded his head. "I'm glad you asked..." He looked to Torvil. "So... Torvil... seeing as we're all here..." He waved to the door to have to sealed off by two hunters. "What are we going to do about the spy issue?"

Surion blinked "A spy, oh Visha what's next" he sat back after folding his wings away

Ala groans softly slowly coming too again

"Sur... could you drag your mum closer to me..." Torvil said softly. "As to that... I think it's a good idea of I remain... 'dead' " He said with a nod.

Surion gets up walking across the room and helping his mother up and beside his father "It would lead to a good cover later, they saw mum try and save him out in the main room...."

Ala didn't move "Don't remind me" she mumbles

Surion shakes his head and then sits again

Torvil nodded his head. "Good... I need to be dead... Then I can draw an alchemy circle down at the base of the cliffs. Torvin could do it better, and probably faster... But I don't think he'll be reachable... and I don't want him in the conflict..." He groaned and slowly sat up. "I hate to say it... But I didn't teach him about the cliffs like I did Surion, and he really doesn't have anything to fight for here..." He shook his head. "But enough... I'll draw it... but I won't be able to activate it..." He looked to Surion and smiled. "That's where someone else comes in..."

Surion nods "Makes me think I should have brought the pendant, that thing would be very helpful"

Ala mumbles "I can go get it if we need it" she knew exactly what it would do if her son wore it

Torvil nodded his head. "Only if you have the energy love... it can wait..." he sighed. "We're going to need bait tho... someone to lure all the Ravens into the circle's range..."

Surion frowns "That either will be someone who is going to sacrifice themselves, or can get out fast enough"

Torvil nodded his head. "Yeah..." he said softly. "Therefore... I..."

"I'll do it..." Malkar said sternly, looking at Torvil. "You've died enough for today..."

Ala sat up and shook her head "And you've died enough for a lifetime, we'll do it together, two baits is better then one and I can get us both out, and Torvil can use the mind link that Visha had me create to tell me exactly when to get us out" she had about got her energy back and she looked at Torvil "Healing is separate from energies and water, which is separate from the use of the nether... I'll be fine"

Torvil nodded and reached out to brush her face. "Be safe okay... It's going to take me some time to draw the circle... about a week... So everyone get ready... We're in for a long haul... but we need to hold these caves for seven days... eight most..."

Ala nods "Don't worry, I will be safe... I'll go get the pendant long before it's time, so I'm not jumping too much in one day... and you be safe too"

"Now we just have to get your 'body' out of here, there's a lot of people here, I learned I can pull another person into the invisibility if I stay close enough to them and keep contact, I did it with Nani in my room a while ago" Surion says

Torvil eyed Surion for a moment and snorted. "I don't want to know..." He said with a grin. "But if you ever figure out something new and kinky please pass it along..." He laughed for a moment, only to start coughing. "Okay... no laughing for a bit..." He shakily rose to his feet. "Let's go..."

Surion shook his head "It was to get her back to the Haven, when she was scared, the person who thought he owned her...." he stands up "Take it easy dad" he looks around a the rest of them "Well, it would look suspicious if the door opened and no one left, someone is going to have to go out... and perhaps walk through the cave so we can have a clear path without bumping"

"I'll do it... Your father and I have to talk... we still need to root out that spy..." Malkar said, moving towards the door. "Besides... I owe him much..."

Surion nods and goes invisible "If you can fold your wings dad for now that would make it easier" he says moving to make contact with his father and pull him into the invisibility's influence

Ala watched them "Stay safe love, you know you can contact me if you need it"

Torvil nodded and he smiled, not that Ala could see it... "I know love... I know... I'll have Surion tell you where I am so you can visit..." And with that, he folded his wings up close, all the way into himself, storing them, for they would not be needed for a time, and headed out with Surion.

Ala nods and gives a quick prayer to Visha

Surion waited for Malkar to head out and then with his father kept close to the make as he 'plowed' a path through the cave

Malkar plowed them a path to an empty and unused storeroom. "Here is were he can stay... We aren't going to use it... I've already marked it as forbidden..."

Surion nodded and brought his father to visibility once out of sight "I'm heading back" he says and then still invisible left

Torvil nodded. "Good luck..." he said. Then he sat down and started to talk to Malkar.

Surion got back into the back room with his mother and sister and became visible

Vina had her eyes shut she opened them when he entered. "So I'm guessing that it went off without a hitch huh?"

"They are in a forbidden storeroom... " He dropped onto a chair and closed his eyes

"Good good... I know which one you mean... we're housing the totems there..." She murmured. "Hopefully Malkar will return soon, and we can discuss how to flush the spies..."

Ala nods "Long as those are safe... we all worked hard on them, I'll be back in a moment" and she left the room

Surion sighs and mumbles to himself softly, a mumble that sounded more of worry then of anger

Vina's brow arched a little. "You okay Surion... and I'm sorry... to hear about your missing wife..." She frowned. "I hope she's okay..."

Surion opens his eyes "I hope she is too, no one knows where she is, not even her mum" he says with a sigh

Vina frowned. "I'm sure she'll be fine... she chose you for a mate, so she must be a smart woman..."

"I hope she will, she was attacked right before she disappeared, and has lost most of her memory" Surion explains

Vina frowned lots more, and she grumbled darkly. "If you ever find the beast who attacked her let me know... I'm sure we can find a befitting punishment..."

"Death would be the only punishment befitting what he did to her" Surion tells Vina with a deep low protective growl

Vina looked towards him. "Oh I know that brother... but what KIND of death... that's the question..." Her eyes gained a scary quality to them. "There are several options you should consider... like suffering before begging to die..."

"All kinds of death, bring him back only to kill again" he growled "I don't know Vina... he's a monster, worse then our uncles"

Vina nodded her head. "If you ever find him... bring him to the cliffs... You and I... and perhaps Joman... can practice..." She said with an evil grin.

Surion smiles and nods, a smile that says he is glad she understands

Ala walks back in with a small bowl, stirring a finger in it as she does

Vina turned her face to all, the evil quality of her smile and eyes melting away in an instant. "Well now...mother, what do you have there..."

Ala looks up "If I'm going to hunt, I'm going to look like I am" she says and starts to draw scales over her shoulder and chest putting the bowl down between herself and Surion motioning him to go ahead

Vina nodded her head. "I see..." She murmured. "Well... Do be careful if you go out... I would like you all back in one piece..." She murmured.

Malkar entered a short little while later, nodding hsi head and stroking his chin.

Ala nods still working on her 'scales'

Surion dips a finger on the paint and a couple fingers as well and starts to draw on his own shoulders and upper arms letting loose some of the many scars that covered his upper body so they were faintly visible

Malkar sat down across from Vina. "You two are going to take some Hunters we know who aren't spies, and take them to some caves on the north side... We're going to say we're moving some hunters to the west for an assault on one of the main camps... When we do that... You're going to sweep in from the north... And smash them..."

Ala looks up "All right Malkar, I think we can handle that..."

Malkar nodded. "Good... We'll do that tomorrow. And we'll keep doing it until Torvil tells us it's time to launch our final counter attack..."

Ala nods again drawing the last line of the 'scales' "Understood"

Surion wipes the leftover paint on his finger in one more marking "Try and flush out as many traitors as possible then... Where's grandad?"

"He's..." Malkar frowned. "He's working on flushing them out the hard way..." He said flatly. "In other words... He's talking about it openly... It's a crude way to do things... but it works... He's already caught two..."

Surion nods "I think I'm gonna go say hi if he's not busy I haven't seen him since I was a kid" which was true since he'd only seen his granma and then he gets up and heads from the room, his mind was whirling with everything that was happening and needed time to let it digest

It wouldn't take him long to find Korvil, as he was pretty easily seen from the center of what looked to be a brawl.

Surion sighed and balled his fits "ENOUGH" he hollered green-eyed "Are we here to fight our enemies or ourselves!"

There was dead Silence, and Korvil took that chance to stab two the two men on the ground at the moment in the chest. He looked to him. "Hrmp..." He said sheathing his knife. "You've grown into your name I see... Well Surion, you can Tell Malkar that two more traitors have been dealt with..." He said firmly, staring down Surion, only to break out into a smile. "You two... yes... you two... take these bodies to Malkar... Tell him what I told you... I wish to talk to my Grandson.

Surion looked up at his grandfather his eyes returning to normal "Sorry, I've already lost my father, I don't want to lose more" he says following the plan and speaking in a normal tone

Korvil frowned. "I see..." he said with a weak sigh. "That was not news I wished to hear..." He murmured. "Come... let us talk..." He said motioning for him to follow him to a small cooking fire.

Surion was sorry he had to let his grandfather believe that, but it wasn't his place to share the plan. He follows him to the fire and sits down next to it

"Watch your mother tho... and any men around her... Some men will sink as low as to court a woman during her time of sorrow..." He growled. "Tis dirty and low... a woman should be allowed to grieve, then if she so wishes chose a man to bed with..." He spat. "But enough... He will be missed..." He looked into the fire. "So Surion, how have you been? I see you have grown into a fine man... I'm sure you must have a mate..."

Surion nods "I will, it is sad, neither mine and mother's combined efforts could return life to him, and ryo could not heal him..." he gave this cryptic message to his grandfather, he would leave it up to him if he understood. "I do have a mate, she's missing though, I was looking for her before I came here to answer the call"

Korvil nodded slowly... He was not the brightest man in the world, but suddenly his eyes widened and he looked left then right. He then nodded as if understanding something before he continued to speak. "I see... I do hope you find her..." he murmured. "I know how hard it must be... Your grandmother and I are separate right now... She is several caves below us mending the wounded..."

"Mum plans to help the wounded as well, I miss her granpa, and I honestly have no idea where she is...." he growled lightly

Korvil nodded.

"You and Vina alike" he chuckles softly "Right now I just pray to Visha she is safe, she's the most wonderful person I know"

Korvil smiled. "We all feel that way Surion, about our mate that is..." He gave his shoulder another pat. "I'm sure she is safe... if she's your mate I'm sure Visha is keeping a good eye on her..."

"I just hope I get back before she does, I left her a letter, but I wouldn't want her thinking I left her" Surion looks at his grandfather

Korvil patted his shoulder. "I don't know how long this war will last Surion... and is push comes to shove I will do everything to get you and your mother out before it falls... if it comes to that..."

"Grandfather I know cliff law, we were called to protect the cliffs, we stay until we do that to it's completion" he sounded serious about this, but then he knew things his grandfather didn't

Korvil frowned and he put his hand on Surion's shoulder. "I don't give a damn about the law Surion... If the Cliffs fall... I will make sure you will be able to get out with your mother and your father...father's body..." He said with a firm nod. "Torvil always said he'd rather be buried out of the cliffs anyway..." He nodded his head. "You have a life outside the cliffs Surion... I would not ask you to sacrifice yours if we are to lose..."

"Grandfather we won't lose" Surion said simply and looked at his grandfather's eyes "I know this"

Ala in the mean time nethered from the cliffs to Surion's home in the haven estate

Korvil nodded slowly and he said. "If you say so Surion... I have faith that you know what you speak..." He didn't sound totally convinced.

"I believe in our people, and that's reason enough to know what I speak" he gives a weak small

Upon her return Ala nethers directly into the cavern with her mother in law

Mitizimi looked up from her work at hearing the noise, but said nothing, she went back to her work, patching up yet another wounded hunter.

Korvil nodded slowly and he sighed. "Aye... aye..."

Surion nods "Ok my stomach demands food" he says looking around for food

Ala pulls the pouch on her hip closed, she planned to hold onto the pendant till it was required so it wouldn't give the plan away "What's wrong with the hunter" Ala asks walking up next to her

"Fool got hit by an arrow... I was able to pull it out and treated him for the bane... He'll be fine in a few hours..." She muttered grimly.

Korvil smiled and reached behind him pulling forth a ration bag. "Here..." He said handing him a small loaf of bread some meat and cheese. "There you go, one meals worth of rations.

Ala frowned, there was little she could do against bane "Whatcha got that doesn't have to do with Bane"

Surion reaches and takes hold of it "Thanks granpa, we're on rations are we... "

"They took the main food store first... all we have left are the secondary ones..." Korvil frowned. "We've been forced to ration, and noone has managed to break the blockade to hunt..."

Mitizimi stood up and motioned for Ala to follow, she moved over and knelt to a man. "This fool fell asleep during sentry duty... and fell and broke his leg..."

"Mum got in the air to get a look at the upper cliffs, perhaps her and I could get past it" he muses and munches on the bread

Ala shakes her head "Hey there, think you can deal with pain for another minute or so?" she asked the sentry

The Sentry smiled weakly. "I think so yeah..." he chuckled weakly.

Korvil raised his brow. "You realize it would take more than just you or your mother to feed us all..." He stared. "I don't know about you... but I'm not sure both you and your mother can hunt several thousands of people's worth of food..."

Ala put her hands on the leg feeling firmly to make sure the bone was set and then a moment later the gem on her forehead began to glow

Surion sighs "I know that granpa, but, it's possible we could at least help make rations go further"

Korvil nodded his head. "We'll see..." He murmured. "But I wouldn't really hold up too much hope..." He said softly. "Just being a realist Surion... Being an Idealist right now will get you killed..."

The Sentry groaned but relaxed letting Ala do her thing.

"I AM being a realist grandfather, an extra couple deer would give more food to make this and this stretch" he holds up the bread and cheese slightly "even a little, I can do things that many of our people cannot, and so can mum"

Ala soon finished "Okay, back to protecting our people... and no more falling asleep"

Korvil let out a slow sigh. "Talk to Malkar and Vina about it then... If they'll give you a shot at it, then I wish you the best of luck... I just think that your abilities could be better used elsewhere..."

The Sentry nodded and slowly stood. "Thank you ma'am... I don't plan on it...":

Surion grumbles inwardly, his abilities were being used plenty, but dragon could not survive on bread and cheese alone

Ala nods and looks to her mother in law once more

Mitizimi smiled. "Lets see... what else do I have..."

Korvil shrugged and just leaned back, looking up at the roof.

Ala wandered around with Mitizimi helping her out for the time being

Surion sighs "I'm gonna go get some rest granpa" he gets up and wanders off back towards the back room

Korvil nodded. "Take care Surion..." he said with a wave.

By the end of the day Ala was ready to just crash and nethered directly onto a place to sleep in the back room

Surion had crashed on the chair

Vina placed a blanket on him and she smiled. "Torvil goes out to start tonight... With any luck he won't get caught..." She sighed. "And if he does... Ravens are superstitious... They think he's dead..."

War At the Cliffs: The Ambush
The morning of the another day dawned, and rations were given out to all of the companies, as it was planned, Ala and Surion were going to go with a company, and another was going to sweep in from the opposite direction once the Raven's were in the position to ambush. In essence they would ambush the ambush, but they would have to move quickly, so they were going to have to eat on the move.

Surion held fast to the spear, he'd told the little dragon it had to be quiet as anything, he'd even given it some reserves of his energy just in case through the night.

The company quickly took the east caves and swept into the northern ones, trying to keep as silent as possible, their fellow company quickly worked it's way west, to play as bait. When they reached the north caves the sun had risen rather high, and already scouts were being sent out to see if the Raven's had taken the bait.

Ala and Surion stayed close to the group their wings unfurled ready and willing to do what needed to be done when it needed

The scouts filtered back slowly with news. The Raven's seemed to have taken the bait, there was a small unit in and waiting looking for the company that had taken up position in the west.

"Not very bright that's for certain" Ala muses in a low whisper

Surion shakes his head, they weren't he agreed as he heard the news of the taken bait

"Don't be too sure..." One of the veterans spoke, he spotted a few recent scars. "They're tricky bastards... They might have taken the bait to lure US into a trap... You, you, and... you..." He pointed to three other hunter. "Stay behind and watch our flanks... The rest of you... let's go..."

Surion and Ala nod watching ahead of themselves with bright emerald green eyes "Lets get this done" Ala agrees quietly at the same time hoping that Torvil was keeping safe

The ventren lead them down the path, and soon the Raven's were in sight as they rounded the corner. One of them let out a loud cry and charged, the others two started to charge towards them... And more started to filter in from the way to the outside.

Surion too charged his enchanted spear ready for action

Ala growled loudly and extended her hands with green energy at the ready to fire

And that's when it happened, more cries from behind, and another unit of the Ravens came storming in on their rear... Seems those three hunters that were left behind didn't stand a chance.

Ala whipped around releasing the energy hoping she too had backup, damn it all she hoped and prayed to Visha, she tapped into the most powerful energy she had to do it.

Surion swore looking over his shoulder but he was already engaged with another raven

They kept storming in till finally the hall was full, it was a dead press, the living using the dead as weapons as much as their own, it was a double trap, both sides hoping to trap the other and both sides getting caught in one. The Raven's had far superior numbers, but the Dragons were tenacious, many taking a few Raven's with them as they fell, but it was not looking good for the dragons.

"Damn it all" Ala said looking "Surion... group and eyes" she hoped he got the hint she didn't want the ravens to understand what she was after

Surion nods moving a lil closer to his mother tapping any of the remaining dragonics on his way

They nodded and fell back, the Ventren frowned and shook his head as Surion tapped him, motioning for the others to go on ahead, he himself would stay behind and try to buy them some time. As he did this, he took a spear in the shoulder and let out a roar, charging into the fray... Soon the rest of the group and gathered around ala and Surion, and were trying they're best to fighting off the Raven's. They had no idea what was about to happen.

"EYES CLOSED" Ala yelled and made sure they were touching before hauling the whole group out via the nether.

Surion knew what it was and shook his head, he knew Ventren stood no chance alone

They all shut their eyes, a few shouted loudly and a few got tagged as they moved into the nether.

Ala waited only as long as absolutely necessary before pulling them out of the nether in what she hoped would be a safe place

Thankfully for them it was, and many of the men started panting. "The hell..."

"That was the nether", Ala says dropping to the ground panting, she'd never pulled that many through the nether at once before

Surion sighs and looks towards the direction they had been... and silently gave Ventren his prayers

A few of the men sicked up and more than a few lay on their sides. They would still have a few casualties from the fight, and more than a few had died on the spot, when they landed. all in all, they'd lost a good half of their force.

Ala caught her breath and looked around "I have a feeling we have to fall back and regroup now" she says shaking her head, she couldn't help but wonder if the person who was their leek was closer in the inner circle then was assumed

Surion nods "We make too easy a target just sitting in one place"

"Leave the dead..." A gruff man muttered. "Lets get moving, those that can't walk, you're as good as dead..." Those that were vomiting quickly and shakily stood, and started walking towards what they hoped was the way back to camp.

"No such thing as good as dead, if they are alive they are staying with us, we need every hunter we have and you damned well know it" Ala said forcefully touching a few of the injured with glowing gem

Surion copied and drew some of his reserve from his spear to aid as they walked

The gruff man just spat and kept walking, he had a noticeable limp and he leaned on his spear, it was obvious that he was still a follower of the old ways.

Ala growled wings flared she helped bring up he rear not wanting any man left behind

Surion slips into invisibility and moves into the air to provide lookout and direction

They would have little resistance as they made it back into camp, save for a minor skirmish on their way in, in which they were assisted by the sentries.

Surion lands at the cave after everyone else had entered and became visible looking around

"Tis a battle yes yes, tis a battle we fight good" the little dragon on his spear chitters at him

"Yes senti, we fight well, but we need to win, and get our home back" he replies quietly and then slips into the cave

The healers took the wounded and several of the dieing, and they directed Ala and Surion towards the Elders, as they needed to report in.

Ala nods and Surion follows as they slip away from the main crowd and into the room with the Elders, Ala's gem glowed lightly healing her own minor wounds

Vina and Malkar had been talking, but when Surion and Ala entered they stopped. "I see things did not go well..."

"They did not, we were trapped between two parties, Those in front of us, and those who followed up our rear," Ala says dropping into a chair with a yawn

Surion walks up standing beside her

The two Elders frowned and shook their heads. "We don't understand, how did they know our plan" Or did they hear you"

"I don't believe they heard us, we were very quiet until we reached our target, I think there is someone closer then we know" Ala says closing her eyes as she spoke

The frown grew deeper. "The only ones who knew of the plan were those with you, yourselves and us..."

"We lost a lot of our party, including Ventran, though I have to wonder about one of the hunters, he was far too eager to leave behind anyone who could even minorly slow us, saying they were as good as dead, we all know just how many people we need alive" Surion says as his mother starts to doze off

Vina frowned. "That would probably be Grindal... He's very set in the old ways, and was an old friend of Shezar..."

Ala's eyes opened with a snap, she had not been fully asleep "Shezar!?!" she sat up rather quickly

Surion frowns and finally takes a seat

"Just a friend of him Ala, relax..." Malkar said gently, making soothing motions. "The hunter Surion had been speaking of..."

"I am very leery of anyone who was friends with that monster Malkar, and you know perfectly well why..." she pauses "Actually you probably don't, cause more happened after he was killed"

Surion looks at his mother with a frown

Malkar nodded slowly. "As well you should be... Though, I do not think he would be a spy, my father detested the ravens, his friends were likewise inclined, they felt such a truce would be our deaths... I fear that they might have been right for once.."

Ala watches Malkar for a time and then relaxes in her chair again closing her eyes

Surion nods "All the same we have to be careful I think, we were far outnumbered"

"I would suggest..." A familiar voice spoke from the shadows.

"That we lay in wait, and try to hold them off..."

Surion turns towards the voice

Out of the shadows stepped a drow. He wore two very fine daggers on his belt, he bowed to Vina, who frowned at him. "I though I told you to take Malcolm and hide him and the kids somewhere safe..."

"I'm sure he did Vina, after what happened in the undercaves I doubt he'd take any chances whatsoever" Ala says quietly half asleep

Surion nods his head in greeting to his brother in law

"Speaking of the undercaves..." Joman said with a slight smirk. "You all should be happy to know that you'll be receiving some re-enforcements..."

"They've changed their minds on us have they" Ala sleepily opens one eye looking at Joman looking at him with a royal blue gaze

Surion nods petting the small dragon on his spear slowly giving him little bits of his energy to store as a reserve, somehow it felt good to know the little bonded dragon was there

"Well, more of they know that they can't deal with the Ravens... You gave them quite the shake down mum..." Joman laughed. "Also, the political turmoil has simmered down to manageable with the death of my father and brother..." He shook his head. "By tomorrow's end, the Raven's will wonder why their numbers are dropping in the night..."

"Their assistance is much appreciated Joman" she says quietly and closes her eyes finally falling asleep

Surion nods "We lost a fair few ourselves today, a drop in the Raven's numbers would not be a bad thing"

Joman nodded. "All they ask is for trade... They're economy is shot right now..." He frowned. "It's a risky venture, but I think for now they'll keep their word... but to stay on your toes..."

"Last thing we need is for another to turn on us" Surion agrees with a nod and looks towards his sister

Joman nodded slowly and Vina sighed. "We need the help, but we know we can stop the drow if we must, all we'd have to do is seal off the main entrance..." She sighed.

Surion nods "Yeah, well... I suppose what we need now is to sort out the next step, or should we wait for mum to wake up first"

"Let her rest for now..." Vina said with a wave of her hand. She closed her eyes for a moment and rubbed the bridge of her nose. "I think the best course of action is to sit back and try to regroup, let the drow work on taking down the Raven's numbers before we launch a counter assault..."

Surion nods "Sounds like a reasonable course of action, mum got us out using the nether today, but we still lost a lot, we definitely need to lower their numbers"

Vina nodded. "So we will sit and we will wait..." She murmured.

Surion nods and stretched, he fidgets with the spear with it's water crystal tip washing it of any blood the Ravens left on it with his waters

"Surion, why don't you take mum and visit's dad's body..." Vina said as an aide came in to do bring in more reports. "I know Mum still has a lot of mourning to do..."

Surion nods "Yeah" he reaches over and pokes his mother

Ala stirs and opens her eyes "Wha?"

Surion leans close "Lets go see dad's body" he whispers

Ala stares at him for a moment before slowly nodding and they stood and left the room

They would find the area Torvil was resting in rather quiet, in fact, there was no one there at all... Seemed they didn't want anyone looting.

Ala and Surion slip into the room where Torvil's 'body' was 'stored'

Torvil was resting as they walked in, his head on his knees, his finger was drawing in the dirt.

"You look bored love" Ala says softly

Surion wanders in and takes a seat

Torvil looked up. "working out how I'm going to draw the circle, I can't use fire... It would get into every nook and cranny, probably fry us and the Ravens..."

Ala walks closer and sits next to him looking at the circle and leaning her head on his shoulder

Surion frowns "What other options are there dad?"

"There's lighting... and then air... We could cut them all to ribbons or implode them if we alter the air flow... Only problem with air is like fire... It would hit us all... lightning would be the safest bet... But there's no guarantee it would work proper or even hit them all..."

Surion nods watching them both and the circle "There will be two to power it, it might have a higher chance"

Ala just sits purring softly and listening

Torvil shook his head. "I'm going to have to get the hell out of dodge Surion, it's all going to be you..." He said with a nod. "I could try and stay and help but there's only gonna be one spot that safe when that sucker goes off, and that's where you're going to be..." Torvil said with a nod. He leaned his head against Ala's and purred softly at her closing his eyes for a moment. "I think we'll go with lightning..."

Surion nods slowly "All right dad... Mum when are you getting the pendant?"

Ala looks at him "I already have it, I'll give it to you a little closer so noone knows we have it"

Torvil sighed softly and kept his eyes closed. "I'll get to work on it as soon as Malkar tells me the sun is down... So how have things gone with you?"

"Our trap was trapped, we lost a bunch of hunters, and the drow have joined us" Surion says with a nod

"It's weird not having you at my side during the majority of this" Ala says quietly

Torvil sighed and leaned over a bit more, kissing Ala's cheek. "I know love... It's weird for me too..." He looked up to Surion. "So they lived eh?"

Ala stays quiet and cuddles his side

Surion nods "A number of them did yes, just like Xix... They're going to attack the Ravens by night to try and decrease their numbers"

Torvil nodded his head slowly. "Hmmm... Well all's well that ends..." He made a motion and looked at Ala. "Surion... Why don't you go see how your grandfather is doing?"

Surion peers at his dad and then chuckles "Gotcha dad" he says and turns exiting the room in search of his grandfather

Ala smiles watching him go "He grew up so wonderfully"

Torvil nodded, "Aye, that he did..." He purred and rested against Ala, relaxing finally... Surion would find his grandfather in the main hall of the caves, eating lunch rations.

Ala wraps her arms around him loosely and kisses his cheek

Surion wanders over and drops down beside his grandfather resting his spear across his lap

Torvil leaned more into ala and closed his eyes tighter, purring loudly. Korvil nodded his head at him when he saw him, he put the bread down and swallowed. "I heard you got ambushed..."

"I hope this all works out Torvil, we're losing so many good people" she says softly

Surion nods "Yup, we did, lost too many, probably would have lost more if we hadn't gotten out when we did"

Torvil sighed and snuggled her more. "I hope it does too, because we can't afford to lose them..." Korvil nodded his head. "We always lose too many..." He spat, and offered Surion some bread.

"Makes me wonder who is spilling the info, only the people who were going knew ..." Ala sighs and cuddles closer

Surion took the offered bread "yeah it seems we do, and that's really not a good thing" he breaks a tiny piece of the bread off as the little dragon on his spear became sentient and chittered at him for some "Take it and hush I told you to not do that in the cavern" he whispers and gives the small piece to the dragon

Korvil eyed the spear for a moment and shrugged, then watched Surion. "No it's not... We just got the orders to play defensive for now... That might preserve our numbers a bit..."

Torvil sighed and snuggled and nuzzled into Ala. "I don't know... I guess we'll have to wait..."

"Yeah, hopefully it will preserve our numbers we need them" he sighs and looks at his grandfather

Ala nods, "the old ways aren't going to help us here, I wish people would think the new way so we will survive"

Korvil nodded slowly and sighed. "We can only hope..." He murmured. Torvil sighed and snuggled. "No, they're not, but you know... It's hard to let go some times..."

"I just hope it's not one of them who is leaking" Ala purred softly kissing his cheek softly

"We'll survive grandfather, we are a strong people..." though he had other reasons atop that to think that

Torvil purred louder and turned his head, kissing Ala softly. "I hope not... but they might..." Korvil chuckled. "Of course we will... Even if we must flee the cliffs to survive, we will..."

Ala didn't reply rather she pressed her lips against his, she missed his company

Surion frowns "I wouldn't want our people to leave the cliffs" he shakes his head

Torvil purred loudly and held her tight, returning the kiss... Yeah... let's leave those two be... Korvil nods, "Neither would I, but we will do what we must to survive..."

Surion nods "We will, and we will survive..." He sighs and looks down at the dragon fingering the jaguar like pattern thinking about all the things that had happened of late

Korvil nods and places a hand on his shoulder. "All things will come to their end Surion, maybe it is the end of our race's time..."

"No grandfather is it NOT the end of our races time I refuse to believe that, and as long as people refuse to believe it, it's not so don't you start thinking it is cause a lot of people look up at you" Surion said having lifted his head and given his grandfather a firm look

Korvil have Surion a disarming gesture. "I am just saying what I fear might be the truth Surion, but I will fight to the end if I must..." He sighed. "And right now I am going to stand firm, and I am going to keep our home safe.

Surion frowns but says nothing looking back down at Senti making eye contact with what was now a unmoving creature giving it a little more of his energy to store

Korvil sighed and he looked out towards the current sentries on duty. "Here, finish my rations, I have to be on the line..."

Surion nods and watches him "All right grandfather, keep safe please" he says taking the offered rations

Korvil nodded and stood, heading for the line, another sentry pulled from the line as he approached, and nodded, heading back to get some food and rest.

Surion stood and stretched looking about the room holing the spear against his front as he ate the rations his grandfather gave him

A female hunter stood and walked over sitting down next to him. "You are Surion Rakamash yes?"

Surion looks down at her "Yes I am" he confirms with a nod and then sits down again

She smiled and brushed her hair behind her ear. "It is an honor to meet you, your aunt has spoken well of you..."

"Which aunt" Surion asks quirking a brow, it could be anyone, especially with how fast everyone grew there

"Melania..." She said with a nod, her hand coming up to play with her hair. "And I was wondering... in these trying times... If you might not... perhaps, mate with me?" She smiled weakly. "Our children would be strong, and if this war were to last long strong children are needed..."

"M..mate?" he stared in slight shock. And then swallowed "Uhm I don't think my mate would like that all that much" he says fingering the gold ring on his right hand

Her eyes grew wide and she blushed. "OH! Oh my apologies..." She stood quickly and bowed her head. "I apologize..." She bowed again and ran off quickly.

Surion nods and looks down into his lap closing his eyes trying to hold back his tears, he'd stayed so strong for so long, being away had helped him calm a bit, but that had been a memory kicker that brought his missing mate right back to the surface

A hand landed on his shoulder. "Be strong..." Joman said as he sat down next to him. "Vina filled me in..."

"I miss her Joman, I'm worried she'll return in my absence and think I left her, I'm worried she's hurt.. I'm scared she will never return" he whispers

Joman rubbed his back gently, "Surion relax, you just showed that though you have left your home you have not left her..."

"But does she know that Joman... she's been missing quite a while, and no one knows to where" he didn't look up though light pink tears sneaked from his eyes down his cheeks

Joman leaned over and kissed you younger man's head. "Surion, I'm sure that deep in her heart she knows Surion, I'm sure she will come back to you..."

Surion nods slowly and lifts his head looking at the drow "I wish this war would end so I could go home and find her"

"Surion, I have talked to my people and they are willing to help, they will help end this war quickly because it is in their best interest, I fear I may have sold the cliffs to them though, but hopefully they will keep their word..."

Surion frowns "They better keep their word" Surion nods and then sighs "I do wonder though if that's enough, there's a lot of Ravens out there, how much of your people survived what mum and dad did?"

Joman's face darkened. "Surion... I did not tell your mother or father this... and I hope you can keep it a secret..." He looked to him for a moment. "The total death toll of their attack numbered less than twenty... They collapsed a good area of the city, but many escaped and regrouped... My father and brother lost most of their support, and they were killed, the trinity council rules now, and things proceed as normal around the ruins..."

"And yet they didn't return to take you down there again?" he'd heard bits and pieces of what had happened and remembered bits too

Joman waved his hand. "They were enraged that my father and brother lied so that my brother could take the throne... odd as it may sound, I was merely a tool to get my father and brother to act, as long as I lived, my brother could not take the throne..."

Surion shakes his head "You have a weird people Joman, you truly do"

Joman chuckled. "Never trust a drow to be normal or sane..."

Surion chuckles slightly and looks up at the ceiling... "We will survive, no matter the trials"

Joman nodded. "Something I came to respect about your people..." He chuckled.

Surion nods and stands up "I think I am going to go write a note to someone" he tells Joman

Joman nods and smiles. "Go, I will be waiting here if you need me..." He chuckled.

Surion nods and wanders off in search of parchment and something to write with and started to write, in a language that would be unreadable by anyone near there

Many just left him alone, and the batch of female hunters just watched him, wondering.

When he was done he rolled it and spoke a string of words and let go of the scroll watching it zip out of the cave at top speed barely avoiding the heads of the tall dragonics

Many of the hunters swore and ducked, grumbling loudly and shaking their fists at the flying parchment

Surion looks at the dragon on his spear "Least if we need em... they have warning" he whispers to it and then sighs slowly wandering back towards Joman

Joman watched him and raised a brow, wondering where he had sent the note, but keep his curiosity in check.

Surion drops down next to Joman and lays on his currently wingless back

Joman watched him for a bit. "Why don't you get some sleep, we're in for a long couple of days..."

Surion nods holding the spear against him and closing his eyes "that we are Joman, that we are" he knew Senti knew it's job and left the little dragon to do it's thing without a word

Joman nodded and stood, heading off to let you younger male sleep.

"I should get back to the others before they wonder why I'm spending so much time with a dead man" Ala says quietly

Torvil sighed and he kissed her again softly. "You are mourning, no one questions a mourning woman..." He sighed. "But go, if you feel you must..." He brushed her cheek. "Remember that I love you... and beware, some males would take advantage of your grief..."

Ala nods kissing him softly "I will... love you Torvil" she says after nuzzling his hand and then stands up

Torvil sighed and let her go, closing his eyes and going back to his drawing... It would be dusk soon...

"Love you" she whispers once more then disappears from the room and moves back into the main room

When she reached it one of the males approached her. "I am so sorry for your loss..." He said bowing his head.

Ala nods keeping a sober expression on her face "Thank you" she says quietly

"Perhaps, you would care to spend some time with me and talk of him" I cannot say I know him well, but he did save my life by giving his..."

"Perhaps" she says quietly, she knew to be leery and she looked towards him

He nodded his head. "Come, let us find a quiet place..." He offered her his hand.

She didn't take his hand but she did motion him to lead "Not too far from here please"

He nodded his hand and soon found them a quiet little alcove not far from the main hall. "So, what was he like?"

"Loyal, honest, loving and caring" she says avoiding past and present tense specifics

"Honorable qualities..." The male murmured, moving slowly closer to Ala. "You would find such traits in I, should you chose me for your new mate..."

"I am not taking a new mate thanks... My people believe in one.. and only one for all of time" she says simply "No matter what, even when our loved one leaves us"

The male frowned. "A shame," He bowed his head and ran a hand down her arm. "But should you grow lonely in the night... Do call on me..."

"I will not be here at the cliffs long enough for such" Ala says with a nod

Again the male nods, and slunk away, a bit defeated.

Ala leans back against the wall and closes her eyes, it was so hard to think of her mate as ... dead.

an aide wandered in on her. "Excuse me... Mrs. Rakamash... I've been looking for you... Vina and Malkar wish to speak with you before you bed..."

Ala opens her eyes "Yeah ok" she says and pushes herself to her feet with a groan and head into the room where the pair were

The two were sitting in silence, Vina reading reports Malkar was brooding, running a coin over his knuckles.

Ala pushes the door firmly shut behind her and walks over dropping into another chair "What's up" she asks

"Dad is out doing his thing, Malkar thought you should know... Also, we found four more spies... or rather, grandfather did..." Vina said not looking up from her reports. "They were all carrying Raven coin..."

"Any from within the group that went today?" she asks

"Two actually... And Gramps can't take all the credit... Grindal helped him subdue them..."

Ala quirks a brow, she'd very much half expected that man to be one of them "I can't help but wonder just how many spies we have to flush before we can beat this"

"Too many..." Malkar sighed and threw the coin at Ala, his hand shaking. "Look at that and tell me how you can resist it..." It was a perfectly round, seemingly perfect gold coin.

Ala catches the coin and looks at it and her brow furrows "Nothing is this perfect... least nothing golden"

"Exactly... but I had the smiths study it..." He shivered. "It's perfect in everyway... Pure gold..."

Ala's eyes shift a bright emerald green and ball of green energy forms over her hand and she holds the coin to intersect it, she didn't trust 'pure'... not pure gold

The coin shuddered and suddenly disintegrated, actually it vaporized, almost as if it couldn't take the shock of the energy

"Gold doesn't do that" Ala growls her eyes returning to normal with the energy disappearing "Pure gold is much like the Kerrsalian water crystals... it can withstand the energy"

"Torvil said it was made by alchemy..." Malkar said softly. "It looks and feels like pure gold... but it's not..." He frowned.

"Torvil and Surion would know a lot about that, especially Torvil..." She reaches into her pouch around the necklace in there and pulled out a gold claw and holds it "How much 'pure' would you say the gold claw are here"

"fifty percent..." Malkar admitted. "The gold veins here are not of the best quality... the rest of claw is copper..."

Ala nods and creates another ball of energy and made the gold intersect it, it warped just a tiny and then stopped "If 50% gold can withstand my energy like this... pure wouldn't budge" she gets rid of the energy and tosses the piece of claw to Malkar"

Malkar looked it over and nodded. "I see..." He said with a nod.

"No way that other stuff is gold... now there just has to be a way to prove that to everyone else who may still have it and still be fooled by it" Ala says

He smiled a bit and and chuckled. "That is easy..." He nodded his head. "We have witnesses to you proving that it's not, Rakamash word is strong, and the Elders saying it makes it even stronger."

"If they need to see it for themselves I will show it, I presume you have another of those coins" she says her eyes returning to blue

"We have boatloads..." Malkar frowned. "The Ravens are not stingy with their false coin..."

Ala nods "A few claw, and a few of those, and I'm sure it's provable"

Malkar nodded slowly. "Yes, but I hope that a physical proof won't be necessary..."

"Claw is hard to work with..." Vina huffed.

"I'll give my own claw if it comes down to it" Ala says with a sigh

They both waved their hand. "Don't worry about it..." They spoke in unison.

Ala nods and yawns "Sounds good" she says mid-yawn

"Why don't you get some rest..." Vina smiled.

Ala nods and closes her eyes about ready to fall asleep right there

"I'll get her to a bed..." Vina said softly, moving to Ala's side.

Ala sighs and opens her eyes moving to stand and lets Vina lead her off

Vina led her to the Elder's personal quarters, moving to put her to rest in her bed.

"Thanks Vina" Ala thanks her and then drifts off to sleep

Vina smiles and nods, letting her go.

War At The Cliffs: The Cheat?
The sun rose again on a new day in the cliffs, the armies had bunkered down and had dug in as best they could, the hunters held their positions through several probing skirmishes during the night, but nothing they couldn't handle. However, Ala and Surion would awake to a familiar scent nearby, one that they shouldn't be smelling about and about the other people.

Surion picked it up first, and frowned, being in the main room while his mother was sleeping in the elders room with his sister. He frowns and picks up his spear, Senti chittering to life spiraling up his arm and onto his shoulder latching firmly there as he walks slowly towards the scent

There was a short haired white haired male talking about, some of his hair fell in his face over one eye, he was talking to other males, looking up at them as he discussed the goings on. He was leaning on a spear lazily as they talked, the scent was coming from this man.

Surion acted casual and wandered slowly towards them, he'd shut Senti up with a single thought so he could try and hear what was being said

"Ah yes I see..." A familiar voice spoke. "So that is how it is going, that's good to know that they have come to our aid, I was hoping we'd get some help soon, I've heard we've been losing a lot of people." He bowed his head, again, and he shook his head. "Well I will leave you two be for now... Have a good breakfast. " He turned and walked from them, heading towards where Surion was standing.

Surion stops and watched the male heading his direction, Senti chittered softly in his mind his long tail wrapped around Surion's upper arm and he was laying on Surion's shoulder, unless someone looked closely it was doubtful they'd pay a second glance to the small dragon

The male walked right next to Surion and lay a hand on his non-dragoned shoulder. "We need to talk..." It was very obvious now that he was close... It was Torvil, Sans his enormous amount of hair. At least, if you knew where to look and tell it was Torvil.

Surion's jaw nearly hit the floor, oh his mother was going to have a heart attack.... "Yeah... pick a place" he said trying to sound casual about it, his father had seen the dragon on the spear in his home the day after he got it, he was the only one who might know at first glance that it wasn't where it should be.

"Anywhere is good... Remember, I don't look like I used to..." He chuckled a bit. "I think it was time for this actually... But your mother is going to kill me... But oh well... I will burn that bridge when I get there..." He bowed his head, "Lets go talk to the elders though... I think I have our problem solved given what I've learned..."

Surion nods and acts as if to be leading Torvil towards a place where he's never been "Better make sure wherever you are when she sees you is soundproof" he whispers motioning his father towards the Elders door knocking on it when he got there "Sis, an informant for you..."

Vina looked up and smiled. "Come in Surion... And..." He eyes narrowed a moment and she bit her lip. "Bring him in here... NOW..." She clapped her hands quickly, sending the aids off running quickly passed the two men out the door, obvious the message was important.

Surion wandered in he glanced around for his mother, she wasn't in sight, his guess was she was starting her day with a cleanup in the spring

"Well Torvil, what is it? you're taking a BIG risk just cutting your hair and thinking you can waltz out here..." She grumbled, and crossed her arms across her chest. "You'd best have a good reason..." "I do..." Torvil said flatly. "One, I know what I'm doing... and two... the hair was a necessity, and a good change of pace I think..." He brushed it with his hand. "Either way..." He said with a nod of his head. "I got the ring of the circle done, I should have it done in time, with the drows helping though, It probably won't have to be as big."

"I sent a note dad... if we need more help... we have it" Surion admits, he'd not told his father... or his sister he'd done it

Ala came in her eyes closed and brushing her hair, she walked several feet into the room before stopping dead in her tracks at a scent that she'd be able to pick out of hundreds without fail

Torvil turned his head. "Who did you send the note too Surion." He heard Ala enter and he didn't say anything besides. "Good morning Luv..."

"Ryalie and the wisens" Surion says and lifts his hands to his ears, oh the joys of sensitive ears

Ala opened her eyes and stared "What are you doing out...." she paused mid sentence her voice rose sharply "WHAT DID YOU DO!?" he looked at his head... short... AGAIN

Torvil winced and clapped his hands over his ears he grumbled and grabbed her by the arm, pulling her back into one of the more muffled rooms so she could shout at him without blowing his cover completely. He didn't even get a chance to talk to Surion about what he'd done.

Vina just winced, and looked at Surion, nodding slowly.

Ala was reluctantly moved to another room, she was glaring at him the entire time while she waited for her answer

Surion sighs when they were gone "I'm surprised you didn't cover your ears sooner sis" he says and then takes a seat, Senti lifting his head chittering in Surion's mind before snaking down his arm and onto his lap.

Vina rubbed her temples. "I didn't think she'd shout THAT loud..." She grumbled.

Torvil made sure the door was latched tightly behind him before turning to Ala. "I cut it... with a knife... So now I can be out and about..." He said with a flat and 'I know what I'm doing' tone.

Surion shakes his head "That wasn't loud sis... trust me" he pets the seemingly wooden dragonette

Senti good, Senti watch over Surion, Senti protect it chittered to him

Ala crossed her arms "Don't you trust us to do this? Your father, me and your son and your daughter are all putting our lives on the line here, if it weren't for the nether we'd be dead. ..." she was upset yes, but mainly cause he'd not talked to her about it before doing it "All you need is for a gust of wind and this will be visible and you are revealed as is our entire plan!" she points at the crimson red gem imbedded in his forehead

Vina shrugged. "Loud for me..." She said with a light sigh. "So... He have more help if we need it huh?"

Torvil frowned as she pointed at it.. "Don't you think I've thought about that?" He told her, he closed his eyes and let out a deep breath, then opened them again, now calm again. "I did a lot of thinking, and I think I might have a way to make it so it's not visible..." He said with a nod.

Surion nods "My aunt, well I suppose your aunt too... Kal, she said when she trained me if I ever needed help, real help to write to Ryalie, and I had to put a specific passage in the letter, one that wouldn't make sense to anyone but him... And they would help" He looks down at Senti and then to his sister again

Ala crosses her arms "How Torvil, I tried for years remember? it's not possible except to cover it with something like fabric or hair" she sounded irritated moreso then anything else

Vina nodded her head slowly. "Well... I'll let you know..." She murmured softly. "Hopefully the war will be over before we need them..." She sighed a bit. "We already have one foreign race aiding us, more might upset the balance as it is..."

Torvil humphed and stood a little taller, which of course, wasn't easy for him to do due to his lack of height. "I'm not like you Ala, Remember, we come from completely different' bloodlines..." He sighed and placed his palm to his forehead on the gem. "I don't think it will be pleasant but..." there was a sound of stone grinding on bone. "I think... I can..." there was a click like noise and Torvil made a face, and pulled his hand away from his bleeding forehead, a small scar like like where the gem had been. "push it further in..."

Surion nods "not entirely foreign, but I suppose close enough" he sighs and lifts Senti holding the dragonette next to the spear with the crystal tip watching the dragonette come to life long enough to latch himself back onto the spear.

Ala stared at him, and turned on her heal walking through the wall and door without another word. She became invisible before she even hit the main room walking straight through the room

Vina nodded her head slowly. "Sadly in the eyes of most of the cliffs, they are..." She huffed. "Bringing Malcolm here was hard enough, having his kids accepted was even harder... Joman had his times too... The Dragons don't take well to other races... Malkar and I want to change that..." Torvil sighed and moved to find something to wipe the blood from his forehead, he wasn't going to back down though, not this time... Not on this... He moved to the door and opened it, walking out into the room. "I'm going to go walk the line... When Ala comes back tell her she can find me out there..." And with that, he left.

Surion looked up at him he was about to speak when he abruptly left, so he stopped and sighed, he supposed he'd ask later

Ala took to the air once outside, she watched where she was going yet was nearly careless in her anger at least once, and soon she stopped atop a tree not tooooo terribly far from a Raven mini camp, she was watching, being silent as she did

Vina sighed and rubbed her temples. "s**t... This is not the time for those two to be having spat..."

The Ravens were bustling about the camp in the morning light, dragging bodies that had died the night before into a tent... Which many others were going into... The bodies never came out of it again... But bones did... Lots and lots of bones.

Surion sighs "I knew it would happen, second I recognized him"

Ala makes a face, how crude, that was just gross. She continued to watch, they didn't appear to notice her, so why not get some info if she could

Vina sighed. "Still... He had his reason, and I accept it... Granted though... He's going to have a lot of people mocking him..." She sighed and rubbed her temples. "Or not... I don't know... Some have started choosing shorter hair to keep it out of their way now... It seems that Malcolm is having that affect on people..."

The Ravens didn't notice her because they were too wrapped up in their own affairs, in fact, they were planning yet another probing strike from this position as she watched.

Surion nods "Wish he hadn't hurried out so fast though, I was going to ask him to do something for me... oh well"

Ala frowns, strikes weren't good, especially for them... She seriously hoped the Drow could help knock down their numbers enough before things got drastic for the Dragonics

Vina frowned. "Well he's probably not gotten far on the line at this point, why don't you go find him?" She asked with a warm smile. Soon the Ravens were gearing up, and a few of their scouts had taken wing towards the caves.

Surion nods taking the spear and heading out of the room heading for the line

Ala frowned her eyes going emerald green, she had to distract them, if only long enough for her to get back before the scouts. After a moment she pushed off the tree and at the same time threw some energy down a the camp hoping to get out of there fast enough to not be located as she dodged any ravens in the air

A few spears and arrows were shot/thrown in her direction, and a few of the sentries took to the air after her to give chase, they were starting to detest these mini raids.

Surion would find his father talking to some of the sentries on the line, discussing tactics and such.

Ala stayed invisible dodging and swerving throwing energy and abruptly changing direction every time at random. almost leading the ravens in a loop-d-loop that was all crooked and curved

Surion walked up beside the white haired male tapping his arm not really paying a ton of attention tot he sky, that's what the others were for, it was their turn

Torvil turned his head. "Yes?" He asked Surion, tilting his head. He had noticed the Ravens doing strange things as he'd turned his head, but wasn't paying much heed to it. As they chased their invisible target it became more and more frustrating to the ravens.

"Wanted to... ask you a favor" he says faltering slightly at the lack of red on his father's forehead, but trying not to be obvious

Ala bit her lip , they weren't giving her much breathing space, damn it all she had to loose a few of them so she could get to the others, but they sure weren't making it easy, she kept lobbing small balls of energy and changing directions

Torvil nodded his head. "What do you need?" He asked, tilting his head to the side, he genuinely wanting to help his son.

The Ravens kept trying to tighten their circles trying to get a bead on their invisible enemy who they could only track when they got shot at.

Surion motioned Torvil and pulled him to one side away from the others "The day you saw me... when I was looking for Nani... I put a bag down in the house... it's still by the door... I need it" he spoke in quiet undertones so the others wouldn't hear

Ala slipped through yet another hole in their circle... just and got a little bit of space on them, and she shot at who she had determined to be the ringleader of that particular group of ravens switching directions again

Torvil frowned and he bit his lip. "Alright, I'll go get it..." He said with a nod. "Wait here in case your mother shows up..." He put a hand on Surion's shoulder and made his leave...

The Raven skreeed and pulled away from the fight to nurse and injured arm, and most of the others went with him, leaving only two behind to give chase still.

Surion nods and stands with the others looking up at the sky finally watching the Ravens with a furrowed brow

Ala felt a tad relieved to get most of them off her tail... now she just had two, and they seemed to be the two fastest... even if not the smartest she aimed another ball of energy and darted in the direction of the caves

They skreeed and went in the direction the blast came from, skreeeing as they thought they had their target.

Torvil returned a little later with Surion's bag, and headed back towards where he was.

Surion took his bag and had just stepped out of the way when the skree came, Ala became visible and nearly bowled the line over as she dove through them at top speed, well she did bowl one person over, even if not on purpose, and that was her mate

Torvil grunted and wrapped his arms around her out of Reflex and rolled to soften the impact... However things did not go well, and he let out a loud yowl as the sound of something cracking filled the air. A few men cringed and looked away, clutching at their horns protectively.

Surion jumped out of the way and looked out the cave in the direction she'd come and pointed a the two Ravens still circling very close

He may have rolled, he may have grabbed her, but even that didn't stop her from knocking herself out in his arms her breath rapid

A Few of the sentries nodded, and they went to go deal with the stragglers, the others came and loaded Torvil on a stretcher with Ala, and put his broken horn pieces beside him, a few looked very sympathetic and more than a few were rubbing their horns to see if they were still there. The sentries quickly raced them both down to the lower levels.

Senti moved off his spear and back onto his shoulder wrapping himself protectively there as Surion watched the Ravens, just in case more help was needed

Ala's horns were short enough to not make a huge difference when she'd hit but she'd knocked her head itself and that's what knocked her out

When they got to the infirm they got Ala onto a pallet and Torvil on a pallet. They dealt with Torvil's 'wound' like they did most of the others that had gotten their horns chipped or broken, they filed down the point and hoped it would grow back. Like all other nervous tissue, once it died it was rare for it to come back, so Torvil's horns were now half as long as they used to be, just a little bit bigger than Ala's really. They kept the shards and attached them to Torvil's spear, as this was the tradition used for generations.

Ala woke and looked around later and pushed herself to sit "Ouch" she mumbled not yet noticing Torvil

"You'll be fine Ala..." Mitizimi said with a light sigh, resting a hand on her shoulder. "Just relax and take it easy..." She murmured.

"They're planning another strike, I only delayed them, it's.. it's coming" she tried to get out to Mitizimi her words quiet but hurried

Mitizimi patted her shoulder. "We will hold the line when it comes, they have before..." She shushed her a little. "Rest, you took a nasty blow to the head..."

She nods slowly and lays down again closing her eyes "Please tell Vina" she says quietly before half dozing

Mitizimi got a runner and sent the message, and then got up and went to go deal with the rest of the wounded.

Surion himself had returned to the elder room, haversack on his shoulder and spear in hand

The runner entered and looked around. "I have a message for Elder Vina from Mitizimi..." Vina sighed from her chair. "Yes?" "There is going to be another attack on the line soon..."

Surion looked a the runner "Thanks" he says thinking about his mother figuring that's what she had been doing... he looks into the bag and things about what he wants to come from the bag... food, and once the runner is gone, he opens the bag and smiles

Vina blinked at Surion. "So what's with the bag?" She asked with a slight tilt of her head.

"This is a gift from my 'teacher' " he tells her saying the word teacher in Elven "It's magical" he pulls a package out of hit and tosses it to her, not big, but hey... it's food

She looked at it and she tilted her head she opened it and smiled. "Hey... Food..." She giggled and shook her head. "Interesting... erm... Yeah..."

"The joys of magic" he says and Senti slips off his arm and skitters across the floor and up Vina's leg
'girl share, share with Senti, Senti hungry, Senti have too?' Senti chittered, course the only one to hear the normally wooden Dragonette was Surion and he started to chuckle

Vina stared at it and then at Surion. "Uh Surion... Your... pet... is chittering at me..." She waved the food in it's face, not thinking that's what it wanted.

Senti dived at it happily

Surion laughs and shakes his head "Sis that's Senti, he's bonded to me.. Senti, leave my sister's food alone and get back here, you know what I said about staying with me here

Vina giggled and just let the Dragonette have the food. "Nah it's alright..." She smiled and tried to pet it. "He's kinda cute..."

Senti chittered happily 'Girl likes, girl shares, Senti likes girl'

Surion laughs and watches it slither up his sister's arm and up to her shoulder much like he often did with him... He looks to Malkar "Notice anything about him?"

Ala wakes once more, her head no longer pounding and her gem returning to normal after a hour or so of glowing

Malkar looked up from his work and squinted at the Dragonette. "interesting markings..." He chuckled a little with a nod. "Very interesting indeed..."

Torvil was groaning on the Pallet holding his stubs of horns in his hands and rubbing them gently to try and still the still burning pain from the files, it wasn't really working.

"You should see my fandangle..." he gets up and walks over talking very quietly trying to be as close to Malkar as possible "It's spirit guide.. it's the same as my totem" he said low enough that his sister shouldn't be able to hear over Senti's chittering

Ala glanced over and then away sitting up climbing off the pallet

Malkar chuckled. "Interesting... stranger things have happened I would assume though..." He laughed a little.

Torvil flopped over on his side keeping his eyes shut, groaning still, finally just giving up and letting his hands drop.

Surion chuckles "They seem to just keep happening... oh well Visha has her reasons for things" he stretches and drops into a chair to relax

Ala gave nod to Mitizimi and headed out of the area she headed back towards the main caves

Mitizimi nodded back and sighed, moving over to deal with Torvil as best she could, without overtly drawing attention.

Malkar nodded and chuckled shaking his head. "She works in mysterious ways."

Ala walked back in and sat down on the floor beside the wall

Surion nods and calls Senti back to him without a verbal word

Vina looked at Surion and nodded with a smile. "He is interesting..." She murmured a bit and sighed. She turned and looked at Ala she frowned a bit but didn't say a word.

Surion stood up abruptly and closed the haversack stashing it in a corner "I'm gonna go join the line" he said and disappeared

Ala waved briefly at him on his way out the door

Vina nodded her head. "Be careful... and good luck..." She murmured before turning to Ala with a tightlipped frown.

Ala looked at her "What Vina" she says seeing her stepdaughter's expression

Vina sighed. "Why are you and dad fighting?" She said blunting, her hand idly writing something down.

"Because your father likes to point out just how different we are, and doesn't want to be like me anymore is that reason enough for you Vina" she was irritable, she herself could vividly remember the number of times he'd shown her that he liked that she was becoming alike to him

"That's a stupid and petty reason to be fighting..." She huffed at her adoptive mum. "I would like to point out, dear mother, that it's just that reason that allows him to spend time with you right now, and you're wasting it by being mad at him... Hell mum, you nearly lost him forever, and you're throwing all of this away because he gave himself a haircut, and he's made that gem thing on his forehead disappear, which probably hurt like hells I would be thinking..." She crossed her arms across her chest. "To be frank mum I'm rather... shocked, that you'd be this hard on him..."

"That 'gem thing' dear Vina, thankyou much he liked to rub into me that he wasn't like me and could do it... If you knew what I went through as a child you'd understand" she got up and turns to walk out wanting to be alone suddenly

Vina rolled her eyes and sighed, letting Ala go about off in her huff, she wasn't going to fight the woman, it was up to her to sort this stuff out for herself.

Late evening came and Surion sat in the main room with others eating rations and listening to the talk around him

Ala didn't show up again that eve

Torvil, once he was able to that afternoon, had gotten up and headed down towards the bottom tunnels to get ready to do his thing that night. That eve he went out and started to work on the circle, but his thoughts were distracted, he was worried about Ala.

Surion leaned against a wall and closed his eyes to get rest, rest didn't really come easily though as he thought about his mate, wishing he was at home to look for her

The next day dawned, harsh and crisp, the Drow had done their work quite skillfully, and once they were told that the Raven's were cannibals, they had started to poison the dead, so now even more were starting to get ill and die. The Raven's did not attack that morning as usual, instead, their camps seemed... subdued.

Surion slept in, he was starting to feel a lil more tired of late, especially the previous couple days

Torvil had returned some hours prior and had locked himself off in Vina's private study to 'sleep' but it was very doubtful the man was sleeping.

Surion woke and looked about, hmm well least it was quiet.. he thought and got up wandering towards his sister's area to find out what was happening

Vina was not in a good mood that morning, even though all the reports were good for the most part, she rubbed her temples and let out a long sigh, she was tried, but she was hopped up on a few of the healer's herbs to keep her awake.

"Sis, it wont do anyone any good if you don't get rest" he says seeing her condition

"When people stop using my bed I will..." She grumbled and kept working. "But until then I might as well stay up and work..."

"Hey I used a floor and a wall, we aren't all as lucky as you are Sis... Sleep is sleep, if you need it take it, even if you just crash in an chair" he motions the armchairs

"You have a point, but right now I need good sleep..." She sighed. "Dad of course, took my keys and locked himself in my room this morning, and I don't think he plans on coming out till tonight..." She sighed and scribbled her signature and moved over to an armchair and flopped down, closing her eyes. "Right now I'm so out of it, I'm surprised Malkar hasn't ordered me to bed..."

Surion sighs and heads for his father... walking right through the door that stopped his sister, he hadn't even stopped to think about having done it... least not till he was inside the room and looking back over his shoulder at the closed door

Torvil was flopped dejectedly in the bed, keys in his hands that hung of the bed, he looked tired, exhausted even, though his face could not be seen because it was in the pillow, though it was obvious now that this horns had been filed short.

Surion walked over and reached pulling the keys from his father's hand

Torvil grunted a little, but didn't do anything, nor did he lift his head from the bed.

"Make room your daughter is coming to bed" Surion said and walked back out dropping the keys in Vina's lap "Go to bed sis, you cannot honestly lead these people if you are run ragged"

Torvil grunted and got out of the bed, he gave Vina a hug and a muttered apology before flopping down dejectedly in an armchair, he looked terrible.

Surion put his hand against his face "I said make room not get up" he shakes his head and leaves the room

Ala had still yet to turn up

Torvil just grunted and closed his eyes, falling asleep again, only he tossed and turned and shook in the chair, not getting good sleep as he had nightmares.

Surion stopped next to his grandfather "What's going on today" he asks quietly looking at the man

Korvil was quiet. "The camps... they're silent..." He frowned. "I don't like this one bit..."

"I don't blame you grandfather, its suspicious really" he peered out the cave door thinking about his grandfather's observations

Korvil nodded gravely and sighed. "Nothing to do but wait... And hope your father's plan works..." He frowned. "Though I haven't the faintest Idea what he's planned... and don't tell me... I don't need to know... I'm just a grunt..." He laughed.

Surion nods "It should... it's going to take a lot of timing though" he says keeping his voice low as he replies to his grandfather

Korvil nodded his head slowly. "I also here that your mum is in an off mood..." HE said with a frown. "The next time you see her... You need to let her know there's not time for it..." He sighed.

Surion holds his hands up "If I knew where she was grandfather, f I knew, I haven't seen her since yesterday some time"

Korvil nodded slowly and sighed. "I hope she shows up soon, if there's anything I know about my son, he's going to need support for what he does... I'm know he hides it well... but he really doesn't like it here..."

Surion nods "I'd be living here if my mate had chosen someone else, but I'm not, as for mum and dad... I can't speak for either, I'm not sure what's even going on save for dad's hair" he keeps his voice quiet

Korvil sighed. "Surion... All of Torvil's life here was pain..." he said flatly. "Here is not a nice place for him... I doubt he has a single pleasant memory of this place before your mum..."

Surion nods looking down at the floor "You told me before grandfather, and I can't say I envy him at all"

Korvil nodded slowly. "But... It's my fault I think... Mine and the rest of this place... I was honestly surprised he came back at all..." He huffed a bit and rubbed his temples. "I'm surprised he let your mother bring him her at all..." He shook his head slowly. "Maybe he wanted to make new memories... but either way I worry... I'm not sure how well he's going to take not having his protection here..."

"Mum's stubborn too I know that, I think they both are, I think that's the biggest problem with what's going on" he sighs

Korvil nodded. "One of them will break..." He held his breath. "I just hope Torvil doesn't go insane before then..."

Surion nods "Yeah, guess we'll see... Call me if you need me grandfather" he says and wanders away back towards where he'd left his father

Torvil was still in the arm chair, but he was awake now, staring at the floor.

"See something interesting down there" he says leaning over and intersecting his father's gaze to the floor with his head

"No... Can't sleep..." He groaned and grimaced, looking up at Surion and sighing, he looked like hell.

"Why not dad" he says standing upright dropping Senti onto his father's lap, the little dragon scampered up to Torvil's arm and latched on
'Senti share Senti give, like bonded wants' Surion sighs "Senti I said to call me Surion not bonded" he mumbles and then looks at his father to wait for the answer as Senti shared some of the energy reserves the little dragon kept for Surion

Torvil shivered a bit but pet the Dragonette. "Nightmares..." He grumbled. "Stuff I haven't had to deal with in ages..."

Surion nods "I know this place is full of memories... Are you going to go try and figure out where mum disappeared to? Or just sit here and stew over nightmares?" he held his hand out to Senti who scampered up and lay on his shoulder his long tail wrapping around Surion's arm

Torvil sighed. "I don't know Surion..." He sighed and sat there for a moment. "I guess I should... But I'm scared..."

"Scared of what dad" Surion asks crossing his arms his gem glowing lightly as he rebuilt the energy reserves in Senti

"That she hates me..."

"Oh brother dad!" he rolls his eyes "Even Nani and I have been in fights before" he regretted saying it seconds after he did as his stomach did flip-flops

Torvil nodded slowly and he stood. "You're right..." He walked over and he hugged him, and patted his back. "I'm going to go look for your mum..."

Surion nods accepting his hug and replacing his father in the chair trying to re-occupy his mind

Torvil wandered off, closing his eyes as he enters the places between worlds to look for Ala.

He didn't have to go far, it was the safest place, away from prying dragonic or Drow eyes, and away from the ravens, she was laying there curled up in a ball

He nethered there and he sighed, looking down at her. He went to her side and touched her gently.

She was asleep, she'd fallen asleep right there, her long hair over her face , she didn't notice his touch

Torvil sighed and snuggled into her, closing his eyes and nestling his face into her hair, taking deep and slow breathes.

Surion dozed in the chair in the caves even as Ala stirred and lifted her head a little

Torvil was just laying there, holding her and inhaling her scent, he spoke not a word, he might have been asleep

Ala pushed up and sat, looking back at him, no expression graced her face

Torvil groaned and sat up, rubbing his eyes and looking at her. "Good morning..."

"Morning? ok" she shrugged and ran her fingers through her hair with a sigh

"I was trying to be endearing, but I guess you're not in the mood for it..."

"What mood am I supposed to be in Torvil" she asks looking at him letting her hair loose to fall over her back

"You could perhaps be happy to see me, or at the very least wonder how I am, I was worried about you..."

She stares at him "You know.. I can deal with this" she reached out and plucks at a strand of his hair "Hair grows back... I could even deal with those" she pointed at his shorter horns unaware that it happened when she collided with him "But you don't have to rub it in that we are different and do in front of me something I've been wishing I could do since I was eight" she finally lets out to him what was bothering her so much

Torvil just stared at her. "I wasn't rubbing it in you know..." He said with a light growl. "Have you ever stopped and thought about how similar our lives were?" He brushed his hair. "Do you know what this got me? Do you understand how long I was tormented, beaten abused? I was an adult in one months time... For seventeen years... SEVENTEEN years... I was beaten, attacked, mauled, clawed, bitten, and outcast... All because of my hair... All because I was different... I HAD no home... Nobody gave one little goddamn about me..." He stood and turned his back hugging himself. "They gave me my quest in the hopes I would DIE Ala..." He looked down at the floor. "Rhazar didn't show me kindness out of teaching me... I was a good lay... That was it..." He shook a little.

"Least you were an adult to deal with it, an adult who could technically move away if you wanted to, which you did. I've never once treated you strange cause you have white hair, hell I have white hair, that's a big change from the blue black I grew up with, and it wasn't a choice I could make, my body did that for me, all of these changes to me are decisions of my genes, never once did I wish they didn't happen... In case you hadn't noticed or have forgotten I have stood up for you every time something has happened regarding your family, or otherwise, even if you demanded I get away from you I stood by, even when you changed, both times at the HQ on Telrunya" she turns and starts to walk away

"Ala... They did it when I was a child too... You can't throw that in my face... I wasn't a child long, but that's not the point..." He turned and watched her walk away. "Walking away from me isn't going to solve this, and it's never going to be resolved if you keep running away from me..." He stood there for a moment longer and finally said. "If you love me, you will accept what is different between us... if you can't do that... Then you don't love me..." He kept his eyes on her as she walked away. "But I love you, and I know we have our differences, and that's how life is..."

She stopped but she didn't turn around, her hair covering all of her back and her shoulders so her face itself wasn't visible. She mumbled something very quietly, something even his sensitive ears couldn't make out as she stood there unmoving her head tilted slightly forward

Torvil moved over to her and he touched her shoulder. "Say it again..." He said with a very soft tone, not wanting to startle or spook her.

"I know we're different... but... I don't want to change what's... the same" her voice was still very quiet, she till didn't move from where she was

"Love... Change... Happens... It's a part of life... and right now this change is a necessity if we're going to be together through this tough time..." He brushed her hair with his fingers. "So far, this change might be tough for you... But... for now, it's how things have to be..."

"But you didn't have to come amongst the others, you were dealing with the circle" she mumbles still not moving

Torvil sighed. "I was going insane in there... I had to see you.. I wanted to be with you, and this was the only way to do this... I almost lost you, I almost lost you forever!" He wrapped his arms around her. "That scared me..."

"How did you almost lose me forever" she asks letting him wrap his arms around her, she couldn't meet his gaze

"Love... I almost died... If Ryo hadn't saved me..." He closed his eyes, tears starting to fall down his cheeks. "If Ryo hadn't saved me... Love... I saw the light at the end of that god-damn tunnel..."

"He wasn't the only one who had a hand in your surviving Torvil... he got you past the worst of it" she says closing her eyes and just letting her head tip forward

He hugged her tighter. "I know love... But... If it weren't for him... I wouldn't BE here..." He sighed and just held her. "I owe him and you and Sur my life..."

She sighed and nodded slowly. Unknowing what to say, she said nothing, she freed a hand from his grip and reached up brushing her bangs on that side over her pointed ear her finger tips brushing her blue gem as she did, and then she dropped her hand again

Torvil just held her for a time and he kissed the back of her head. "Time will help..." He whispered and slowly rested his bare forehead against the back of hers.

"Maybe" she whispers and closes her eyes with a sudden *crack* and they were at the end of a dark corridor of the caves, where she'd gone to begin with before the nether

He still held her and he brushed her hair. "Time fixes everything..." he murmured and broke away for a moment.

"Not everything, only some things" she says she knocks her bangs loose from her ears again letting them slide to cover her gem and she slowly started along the corridor

Torvil reached out and took her hand. "Most things..." He said softly. "And other things can be fixed with love... Which we have..."

"But we no longer have one special thing" She mumbles letting him take her hand and holding it loosely in return

"For the time being..." He murmured softly and watched her. "Just give it time, you will adjust..." He said softly, "just give it time..."

"Please stop telling me to adjust, I don't want to adjust" she stopped and looked at him "We shared a very special link with these, and now that's impossible to do anymore, I don't WANT to adjust, I won't want that gone" she turned and started walking again she'd not let go his hand

Torvil sighed and closed his eyes. "Did I say it was permanent?" He said flatly. "Do you think I would do something to myself that could possibly hurt our time together?" He said flatly. "It will come back out again, but not until I need or want it to..."

"I'm tired of arguing Torvil" she says quietly and just keeps walking, it was going to take something 'drastic' to un-grumpify her

Torvil growled and walked with her, closing his eyes for a moment and letting out a sigh. They did not have time for this... He suddenly pulled on her arm, and pushed her into the shadows.

"Hey!" she was startled not expecting the pull and nearly lost her balance

He pushed her up against the wall and looked into her eyes for a moment, without his romani's on the blue was very visible. without another word he kissed her.

She looked right back into those piercing blue eyes, the eyes she loved to see when she could manage to get his glasses off, she looked through the lenses of her own glasses not moving from the wall he had her against but closed her eyes when their lips met

Torvil held the kiss for a long while, and he pulled his lips away from hers very slowly. "This is why I wanted to be with you..." He murmured.

She slowly opened her eyes again her eyes darting over his face, she didn't try to get herself unpinned, "well... you are now..." she replies she avoided looking up from his eyes and lips

He smiled a bit and he leaned in again, pulling her into another kiss.

She didn't move from the wall, though her hand went to his neck, right then, she didn't care if they were caught, let someone assume she'd moved on for all she cared, she'd been bordering stress and this was loosing some of that stress

Torvil kept the kiss hot and heavy, his hands move up her back and then down her sides, pulling her closer to him and just keeping her pinned against the wall.

She melted into it, she couldn't help it, she could lose herself n his kisses, in his touch, in nearly everything about him. It was one thing about him she couldn't get over

Torvil groaned inwardly though, when there was a cough behind them. He ignored it though for a few minutes, until he had to pull away for air, then turned around to look at the messenger.

Ala looked around him "Yes" she asked looking at the messenger just wanting to get his message out and go the hell away

"Miss Ala... You are required in the Elder's quarters... They have marching orders for you..."

Ala groaned "Tell Vina I'll be there in five minutes" she says, she's nether there if she had to, she just wanted a few minutes, and she could even seem to get that

The messenger nodded slowly and bowed out, quickly moving away. Torvil turned and smiled at her. "Where were we?"

Ala looked back at him pulling him back to her again wrapping both arms around his neck the position lifted her cliff garb top 'dangerously' high, she never wore anything BUT cliff garb there

Torvil growled and wrapped his arms around her again, kissing her fiercely as his hands moved up and down her sides a bit, he groaned inwardly as they kissed.

Her leg lifted looping behind his upper leg and pulled him even closer, right up against her, a low growl emitting from deep within her dragonic side she was trying to make the most of her few minutes

Torvil growled and kept the kiss up, his hands still working against her back and sides, as she moved against him, keeping his eyes shut tight even as he mind was ticking down the moments.

She lost track of minutes, she was trusting him to keep track of that, oh Visha she could use some of her son's potion right about then...

Torvil growled loudly and kept running his hands down her side, groaning inwardly when they hit the three minute mark, he broke for air. "Two minute warning..." He gasped at her as he kissed her roughly again.

Two minutes, oh Visha why hadn't she told the messenger 10... she pressed her lips tightly against his her body even closer to his and her hands went after that very sensitive spot on the back of his neck

Torvil growled loudly and pushed her more against the wall, his mind have to focus harder and harder on keeping time. He kissed her even rougher, biting at her lips when he pulled back for air, trying to make the counting a little slower.

"Time goes too fast" she whined knowing it was ticking away. Soon as she had air she kissed him roughly again every action and scent she put off distracting her own mind's time tracking, she couldn't imagine what it did to his

Torvil groaned and pulled back. "Yes... It does..." He groaned and gave her one last strong kiss. "Time's up..." He sighed.

"Noooo" she whined not wanting to move from where she was, with him, and the look she gave him spoke that in volumes

Torvil sighed and he brushed her cheek. "You said five..." He whimpered, his own eyes mimicking her own. "Unless you want to pop in quick and tell her otherwise you need to go..."

"I said five, but knowing the messenger he'll be tooting that I was with a male knowing she's my daughter... and your daughter should put two and two together..." she stared at him

Torvil bit his lip for a moment, torn between duty to this place and his wife, he sighed and he leaned in closer, he kissed her again and groaned. "It's your fault if she yells at me..."

"Your fault for making me get in argument with you and needing make-up-time" she teased and pulled him closer linking her arms tightly around his neck wrapping one leg around him, and then the other letting him and the wall keep her up

Torvil growled and kissed her. He didn't reply he just kissed her, letting her do all the teasing from now on. He growled playfully letting his hands move up and down her sides again.

She growled right back, her tail moving under her and between his legs ticking the upper portions of his inner legs, she was losing herself in the moment once again

Torvil growled a little more, running his hands lower and working her hips with them, keeping the kiss rather heavy and passionate.

'is it bad to want you' she spoke into his mind so she wouldn't have to break the kiss or his touch. she was glad for that link Visha had had her form so long ago

'Not in my opinion no...' He replied, growling a little more, working his fingers slowly up her sides again.

'Good' she replied and growled holding tighter to him, his touch only serving to heat her up more then she already was by the urge

Torvil growled and kept running his fingers up and down her sides, then working her hips more, working out any knot he found that his fingers could reach.

She whimpered at him pulling him even closer, that back of her mind knew time was running low, even the overtime she was stealing

He growled and kept working at her, hearing her whimpers only made his fingers dance harder against her, and made him intensify the kiss.

'You aren't helping... I'm not going to be able to focus on her orders' she told him in his mind her tail moving below her like a predator after it's prey

Torvil chuckled and growled, 'So whatcha gonna do about it?' He asked her with a slight laugh in his mind.

'more like what are you going to... you are the one who has me pinned' she retorted playfully

Torvil had to pull away and laugh. 'Touché... Where would you like me to start?'

'wherever you have to to deal with this so I can get back to Vina' she replies looking at him

Torvil chuckled and lifted her up a bit more against the wall. 'That really doesn't help me love... there's a LOT I could do...'

'yeah, one of the most effective is take me... ' she replied with an internal purr and she pressed her lips against his again

Torvil purred a bit, and he grinned. 'Alright...' he was already in dragon form, he spent most of his day that way as it altered his scent a little

**later**

slowly her grip loosened and she panted 'got... to go...' she said in his mind

'I know...' He panted, hurriedly getting dressed and giving her a rough kiss before he headed out and away. 'see you soon...'

She nodded and stayed where she was for a moment and then darted out of the shadows fixing her skirt as she ran down the hall, slowing to a quick walk as she entered the main cavern to pass through it to get to Vina

Heads instantly shot up when she entered and a few sniffed the air. A few of the men looked at each other and nudged their buddies sides, whispers already starting up... Yeah... They're BAD with gossip...

Ala ignored them and walked straight through pushing the door of the elders room open and walking in leaning on the door once it was shut with a sigh

Vina looked up and stared at her mum. "Well now I know what took you so long..."

"Oh shush Vina... You are dragonic too, you know what it's like" she says giving her a hard time and then standing upright away from the door walked in

Vina stuck out her tongue and shook her head. "True, true..." She smiled. "Well so far the Raven's haven't attacked... So would you mind on checking on the wounded?

"On the wounded?" her mind was a touch muddled

Vina shook her head a little and shook her pen at her. "This is why we don't do that on the job..." She giggled. "We need you to check on the wounded down in the medic caves with Mitizimi, see if you can lend a hand or two..."

"Some marching orders" she murmurs and a moment later she was gone taking the nether down to the medical caves.. landing right in front of Mitizimi

Mitizimi flailed and she fell back on her butt. "EEP!"

"Hmm? oh! sorry Mitizimi" she says reaching down and offering a hand. Well she'd woken Mitizimi up if nothing else

Mitizimi smiled weakly and stood. "Thanks... Warning would be nice..." She laughed a little. "Lets get to work then!"

"Warning... mmm yeah sorry... ok point the way" damn this was the consequences of not having the time to commit to doing it all... right

Mitizimi smiled weakly and nodded her head, pointing her to the sector she needed to handle before heading off to do her own things.

Ala wandered after her to help, with all hopes she wouldn't mess up....

War At The Cliffs: The Shaman

Another day another dawn, stretching Ala wandered from the Elders room heading to get some rations, her mind still waking up as she walked.

Surion didn't want to get up, not just then, laying on his belly on a pallet with Senti laying lazily on his back fast asleep

Torvil was again walking about, setting things up, he'd had a rather busy night and was currently looking a bit paler than usual, he was heading towards the elder's room to get some rest, coughing a little from time to time.

Ala looked up in time to see her mate in disguise heading in the opposite direction as her, she nodded trying not to seem too 'friendly' rumors were already all over the place, not that it really mattered to her.

Torvil waved to her a moment and coughed a little more as he headed into the Elder's room, looking rather sickly, obviously the man needed rest, eyes followed Ala though as she headed out to start her day

She frowned, she hoped he would be ok, he didn't seem well... Oh well she'd check on him later, just then she wandered towards the rations stopping and picking up her portion.

A few of the men out and out ignored her presence, moving away quickly and frowning, grumbling something about saying and then doing.

Ala ignored them right back her attention focused on eating for a moment, and then she turned and looked over the dragonics spread out over the room

Most of them didn't look at her, a few cast glares or baleful stares at her, but most just ignored her outright for the moment, not wanting to deal with her just then, most of the men seemed, very unpleased.

Ala shrugged and turned wandering back out of the room and down a hall.

Surion yawned and stirred the dragonette scampering off his back as he rolled onto his back.

There was a ruckus from the elder's room and Vina and Malkar came from it, heading out into the main hall, neither was looking very happy, in fact, they looked rather spooked to be honest.

Ala paused quirking a brow, "Whats going on" she asked pausing a few feet from them

Vina shook her head and grabbed her wrist, pulling her deeper down one of the side tunnels, Malkar on their heels. "It's, you-know-who,"

"What about him" she frowns as she hurries after Vina so she doesn't get pulled off her feet

"He's ill, I think, I don't know what it is, but he started coughing up black bile shortly after he lay down... And he won't stop, I'm going to see if I can fetch Ryo personally..."

"Black bile?" Ala's face creased with worry and she looked back in the direction of the elders room "what was his task last night"

"Just doing the circle as usual..." Vina frowned, "He came up all pale and coughing, crashed in my bed... and then started coughing up thick black bile..."

"I saw him returning, he was pale..." she looked to Vina "I think I'm going to go see, you go get Ryu"

Vina nodded and hurried off, patting her shoulder.

Ala turned and dashed off down the hall into the room by ghosting the door, she looked around for her mate

Torvil lay on the bed, or rather, his front end hanging over it, a nice big pile of of a thick oil looking mucus on the floor.

"Hey..." she says walking up to one side not wanting to get in the way if he tossed up again her face was still covered in worry, even more so seeing what Vina meant

He coughed, "H-hey..." He was shivering, and his skin was very pale.

"What did you get into" she says sitting beside him rubbing his back letting her powers activate if they were needed

"N-nothing..." He coughed a bit, feeling her hand on her back, but not any of her power, seemed what was going on was not weakening him in any normal way. "I just... started feeling crappy,"

"don't think this has anything to do with what happened the first day we got here do you?" she asked continuing to rub his back if nothing else perhaps it'd be comforting

He shook his head, shaking a little more. "N-no..." He coughed and started to hawk up bile again, making the puddle on the floor grow just a bit thicker.

Ala made a face her sensitive nose picking up the scent, she was glad she was behind of him. She hoped Vina and Ryu would hurry up

The door opened and Ryu came storming in, he walked around the front of torvil and the puddle, and started to touch him, checking him out, he frowned and shook his head. "He's not sick..."

"Then what IS he" Ala says looking Ryu straight in the face hearing the proclamation

"I don't know..." He poked around a little more. "I'm only a doctor... But his body is forcing stuff out... Lots of stuff..." He frowned.

"Well that much is obvious... but what is it Ryu, surely you must have some idea, you are far more familiar with dragonics then I am" Ala said plainly

"That's the problem, I don't know what he's passing out, only that, the more and more he does, the more and more he seems to be getting, weaker..." He ran a hand along Torvil's side with his eyes closed. "It's as if his very blood is fighting against his body..."

"Very blood..." she blinked, what on Gaia was happening... this just didn't make sense

"His blood is changing in ways I do not know..." He frowned. "He seems to becoming more and more... As he was before he left..."

"Ryu, I've known him a lil over a year and a half, would you mind elaborating on that?" Ala says her hand coming to a stop in the small of Torvil's back

"He's becoming, Well... Pure dragon again, would be the best way to put it... I don't know how long his body has been rejecting what changes have happened to it... But he's becoming what he was when he left... Look..." He pointed at scars starting to show up on his arms and legs, "Even now his body is remembering,"

Ala said nothing, she stared at Ryu, and then at Torvil. she pulled her hand back into her own lap and just sat there

Torvil stopped shaking and panted. "I don't know if it will only effect him... It might effect you as well... I want to keep you nearby... Just in case, I don't know how it would work with you..." Ryu frowned. "But so far... Torvil is going to have a rough time tonight, but once this is done, he should be right as rain..."

"I will be fine Ryu, taking features and parts of my mate is in my heritage, it's supposed to do that" She stood and walked across the room and leaned against a wall

"If you say so..." Ryo nodded slowly. "Are you going to be okay? I know this could be quite the shock..." He frowned, "He won't be all that different Ala, no more so then usual..." He lifted Torvil's head and opened his mouth, looking at his teeth for a moment, which caused Torvil to grunt. "Yes, even his teeth are the same as when he arrived and I healed him..." He frowned. "Fangs... Odd structure tho... Not meant for injection..."

"I'll be just fine Ryu... I'm going to help Mitizimi" she says and with a soft crack was gone

Mitizimi was working on setting another broken limb.

"Hi mum" she says after arriving and walks up to the pair looking down at the limb waiting for it to finish being set

Mitizimi finished and turned, "Hi Ala-dear, how are you?" She brushed some hair out of her face.

"Fine, is the bone set?" she asks not wanting to get on the subject of how she was doing just then

Mitizimi frowned for a moment, "Yes, it's done..." She shook her head. "Something's wrong."

"No nothing is wrong" she reached out putting a hand on the limb her gem lighting up for a time

"Don't lie to me, you're not happy..." Mitizimi frowned. "And don't tell me otherwise, I've been a mother so much that I know on sight, What's up?"

"Mitizimi, I'll be all right, just gonna take getting used to" she pulled her hand away and nodded at the 'patient'

She just sighed and shook her head, "Well lets get to work then..." She stood and brushed her dress, and moved on to the next.

Ala nods and follows after the tall woman in basically silence.

Unusual in itself that he slept past dawn while at the cliffs Surion was still laying on the pallet with his eyes closed half asleep, Senti curled up on his belly

Korvil moved over, and started to kick him lightly in the ribs. "OMGWTFBBQWE'REUNDERATTACK!" He bellowed loudly, a few more of the men bellowing at the same time and slamming their spears into the rock.

Surion's hand darted to the spear at his side as he sat up with a jump, damn what a wakeup... His eyes darted around... least till they landed on his grandfather. The dragonette darted from his lap up his arm atop his head chittering loudly both aloud (without words) and in Surion's head, very full of words.

Korvil laughed and slapped Surion on the back, shaking his head. "You silly man, well you're up at least," He shook his head. "Come, lets get you some food..."

"I was awake... kinda" Surion yawned "Senti shush, everything is fine" he mumbles to te dragonette pushing to his feet yawning again and trying to rub the sleep from his eyes

"Tsk, you need to learn to wake up faster..." Krovil pushed him towards the food. "Come now, eat... you've lost a good few hours..."

"Sorry granpa, just tired..." he yawns and follows after his grandfather Senti now calmed scittered down Surion's arm and onto the spear wrapping himself around it once more

Korvil chuckled. "We all get tired Surion, but now is not the time to be a lugabout..."

"I know granpa, I usually aren't this tired, who knows" he stops near the food table and picks up some rations

Korvil chuckled, "You've had to do a lot lately, maybe I'll relieve you today..."

"I'll be all right granpa" he stretches and then relaxes and eats, his blue eyes surveying the room around him

The room was quiet and grim, it seemed everyone was on edge because of the recent happenings as of late

"All right, what's on the agenda today" Surion asks after finishing his rations feeling a bit more awake

"Well... Actually..." He shook his head, "We're going to do some light patrolling, and that's about it... It's been, quiet as of late... Too quiet..."

Surion nods "That makes sense to me, just let me know what I'm supposed to do" he says and stands more alert

"You'll head out with me as we check the tunnels, see if they've moved camps down..."

Surion nods "Sounds like a plan, lead the way when you are ready" he was ignoring his body just then, he used dealing with the war to keep his mind off his mate

Korvil nodded and moved over towards the path out of the room, his hand tight on his spear, "Good, let's go,"

Surion nodded and followed after his grandfathered, crystal tipped spear in hand as he walked

Korvil moved into the tunnel, and along it with Surion and the other men, looking about.

Surion kept his footfalls light and peered into the areas of the tunnel as well double checking what his grandfather already had looked at

Korvil kept his pace slow, they were crawling through the tunnel as they moved. "Keep on guard, we don't know who all might be here..."

"Understood" Surion whispered back he held his spear at ready and Senti decided to take that moment to skitter back up his arm and rest on his shoulder with his tail wrapped around Surion's upper arm

Korvil kept creeping along, hunting as best he could in the dark tunnels, the lamps were dead, and Korvil's night vision was coming into play.

Surion was happy to have inherited the same physical skill as he peered through the darkness his eyes bringing him information.

Korvil kept along, and he stopped, closing his eyes a moment and just listening, there was a sudden crackle and he was flung back, a bolt of lightning arcing off him and right towards surion.

Surion's eyes widened and his wings flared, in a very quick movement trying to use the air in the tunnel to pull himself back as best as possible, he hoped the reaction would work considering the size differences between him and his grandfather

The bolt curved towards him and struck him, bouncing off again to another soldier.

Surion growls knocked back his gem automatically lighting up both his forehead and a portion of the tunnel as it worked to heal him

The bolt arced off the rest of the soldiers and then, speed off down the hall. the rest of the soldiers lay on the ground, out cold, there was the stamping of feet, and a Raven patrol entered the area, and started to drag away the bodies, they were headed by a shaman.

Surion didn't want to let that happen his eyes shifted a bright green and he lifted both hands and aimed directly at the Shaman letting both balls of energy loose at him, regenerating the energy in his hands telling his healing to slow so he wouldn't pass out

The Shaman saw the blasts and growled, raising up a shield and absorbing the blast into it, then redirecting it at Surion, Only spreading it out wide so it wouldn't kill him, only knock him out cold.

"My powers you a**" Surion says shaking his head using his powers to create the energy shield he'd yet to ever use, it was like a sphere around him encompassing himself and those closest to him, which unfortunately wasn't more then a couple, he knew these asses ate others, he didn't want to let that happen, especially to his grandfather... or him.

The Shaman growled and raised his arms, the air suddenly turned very violent, and energy struck the shield, along with fire, and parts of the tunnel wall.

Surion put his energy into it, holding it firm, protecting his grandfather and one other hunter, he drew all the energy he could from Senti without killing the dragonette

The Shaman kept it up, after all, this was only a whelp to him, and he was a fully trained caster, this whelp WAS an irritant tho, having powers he'd not seen the dragons posses, so he kept the spell going, keeping his cool, it wouldn't do to cut the spell off early, he had orders.

"Grandfather wake up" Surion whispered quietly holding the energy , it wasn't his healing energy, it was different then his normal powers.

Korvil was motionless and didn't speak, he was obviously out of it. The spell came down harder and harder on the shield and up from under it the floor wrapped around Surion's chest and started to squeeze.

Surion had no idea how this raven was doing this, he held a hand on his spear, another on his grandfather, he prayed to Visha for help, or for the knowledge how to use the nether, he didn't know for just how much longer he would be able to protect the pair within the sphere

The Shaman cackled, and kept slamming down the spell on Surion's shield, and his ribcage, and moving closer, waving his staff in a slow circle, chanting in a strange tone.

Surion kept his silent prayer, he didn't understand why Visha wouldn't reply, or help, he was one of her people, so were the others there. He tried to shift off the crushing feeling, turning all his energy into it, anything he and Senti did not need to survive

The Shaman cackled more and reached surion's shield, striking it hard with his staff, Watching as it resonated, he grinned and kept striking it, the spell in the air moving around him and striking in time with his staff.

He closed his eyes, he wanted it, he needed it, and he wished he was in any place other then there, but mostly he wanted to be on the other side. But all he got was nothing... 'Senti go...' he says in Kerrsalian he put his speared hand as close to the wall as he could hoping the dragonette wouldn't be noticed in the crack of the tunnel wall as his body finally succumb to the magic the shaman used and it knocked him out, his grip firm on the spear though the energy came down

The spell stopped and the raven's moved in, taking the captured dragons, and enclosing them in a base in a cave, chaining them up to the walls, Surion would awake facing his grandfather, who was awake, if not totally whole.

Surion groaned softly as he came to, his chest slightly sore from the pressure he'd felt.

The dragonette skittered along the tunnel in the cracks racing at top speed back towards the caves, he intended to go to the room Surion spent the most time in

Korvil chuckled. "Morning Surion, I see you rested well, how you feeling..." He was in a chipper mood considering he was chained to a wall and missing his left arm from the elbow down. "Oh, and just a tip, don't tell the interrogator to bite you..."

"I'm ok I guess, a little sore but ok" he says quietly and eyes his grandfather's arm, surely after what his brother had done his grandfather could do the same "I'll have to remember that"

Senti skittered through the main room avoiding all the huge dragons and winding up at the Elders room scratching persistently at the door to get attention

Vina opened the door and looked down. "You! Where's surion, what are you doing here all by your lonesome..." She crouched down and lowered her hand to Senti's level.

Korvil nodded his head, "Yes, a good idea..." He closed his eyes, "So here's score, we're captured and they want info... I'm sure you know what to do during torture yes?"

Senti skittered up Vina's arm chittering loudly and running circles around Vina's torso obviously upset about something

"Torture, fraid that part of the lessons was left out" Surion sighs and looks around

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Slow down..." She sighed. "Malkar, get the hunters, all that we can spare... I think we have a problem..."

Oh well, in that case, try REALLY hard to not think about the question they ask, I'll help you..." He chuckled, and closed his eyes.

Senti chittered and slowed only to perch on her shoulder , only way he could verbally talk to her like he did with Surion was to be bonded.

Surion nods and closes his eyes not to think, hmmm what else to think about...

Malkar quickly got all he could, and a few of the healers as well, and started down the path surion had with Vina, she wasn't that good of a fighter, but she knew how to make good orders. Korvil started to sing, a song surion would know well.

Senti chittered running around her torso , if she COULD hear him he was going on and on and on about Surion trying to protect and then passing out.

Surion was slightly surprised at his grandfather's choice in songs but he soon joined in singing the same thing his grandfather was

Vina marched, and soon they encountered another patrol, thankfully it lacked the caster support that had knocked out Surion's group, but they did lose a few men taking it down.

Senti growled and hissed at the patrol but stayed with Vina closely

They found the 'prison' but they encountered the Shaman and his men, Vina leapt into quick action and after the first blast of chain lightning ordered the men to spread out as she stayed in the back, directing, while Malkar took the fore, charging into the fray and doing battle with the Raven's and their Shaman

Senti seeing the shaman went a lil... nuts again moving around Vina's torso as if trying to communicate to her that was the man who had hurt his bonded.

Surion's eyes looked around he heard the noise, but didn't stop singing, he would long as his grandfather kept going

They lost a good number of men to the shaman but finally he was taken down, quite forcefully too, and finally the Ravens were routed and they started checking cells... Finally reaching Korvil's and Sur's.

Surion looked up to see who was there, a familiar scent reaching him as he stopped singing

Senti chittered loudly at Vina and Surion could hear the words of the dragonette 'Save bonded, bonded safe, kill ravens, magic one bad'

Vina and Malkar entered, and helped them out of their chains. "I'm glad you're alright Surion," She gave him a hug before moving to Korvil, she said nothing, just gave him a hug, and turned, heading out.

The dragonette skittered off Vina and onto Surion when she hugged him

"Thanks Vina" Surion says and smiles at Senti "You did well" he praises the small creature and then looks at his grandfather as the dragonette wrapped himself around his arm "Uhm I have to get my spear, any idea where it would be?" he knew it was magically enchanted to be extremely strong

"Over in the pile of all the other spears," Malkar said, as he was finishing up bandaging some of his wounds.

Surion nodded and went to locate the crystal tipped spear "Thanks for coming after us"

Malkar chuckled, "Thank your pet, he was the one who came and got us..."

"Not my pet, he's a bonded creature, but I'm glad he understood what I wanted" he smiles as the dragonette wound itself around the spear and then he turned "Uhm, so how many did we lose that time"

"About twenty five, and a healer..." Malkar sighed, "And your Grandfather's left arm..." He huffed a little and rolled his shoulder. "The Raven's have a way.. of stopping our ability to heal wounds of that magnitude... I saw what they did to him," He shook a little. "This war has to end before we lose anymore..."

"D.. Dev needs to finish that one task" he barely caught himself so made up a name and gave his sister a meaningful look hoping she would get the drift of who he meant

Vina nodded her head slowly and sighed. "Yes he does, but there's not much we can do right now, he's kinda out of commission, hopefully he'll be fine by tonight..."

Surion sighs "Lets get out of here, I dont desire to e found here by more Ravens" he looks from Vina to Malkar to his grandfather

They nodded and they whole group headed back for the caves, moving with as much speed as they could carry the bodies of the fallen.

Surion followed in silence keeping a sharp nose and a close ear as he moved

They made it back with little in the way of opposition, it seemed the Raven's hadn't gotten as deeply entrenched down there as they could have, the wounded and dead were brought down into the healing sector while those still good were sent back to the line again.

Surion wasn't injured but he did feel extremely tired, Senti slowly taking some of his energy and something else, he just didn't know what so he stayed in the main cavern

Vina set him up with some food and a blanket, and let him sit for a bit, then headed into her room to work.

Surion sat silently for a long while, long finished eating, the spear on the floor beside him and he sat up more pulling his knees to him and putting his elbows on them before putting his head in his hands closing his eyes, he felt tired yet... strange

Vina came to check on him from time to time, making sure he was comfy
