Amaya blinked and looked over at Ian, smiling slightly and noting his changes. It made sense since he had probably gotten here around the same time she did. She kept her mouth shut though, not sure if he was comfortable talking about his own change. "Oh, hey Ian." A forced smile spread across her features. What was with having to force her own smiles lately? "It's alright, I'm okay." A clawed, cold hand patted his arm reassuringly as she looked up at him. "Are you doing okay?"

Ian watched as Amaya forced herself to smile, then patted his arm. "I'm doing alright. I've figured out that I'm vegetarian, and I have horns and fur. That narrows my creature possibilities to the ruminantid family, though only two or three of the ruminantid sub-orders have horns. The bovidae and the cervidae are the two I am familiar with and I believe I mentioned them to you?" Ian smiled reassuringly at Amaya. "It's alright, at least the creature I'm turning into is lots better that others." He nodded at her scales "Are you cool with reptiles?"
How was he being so calm through all of this...somehow this wasn't him, and yet it was. It was a him that he had lsot many years before.

She listened intently, taking a bite out of her apple. "Oh yeah, I remember you tell me about that... well that's cool then, your becoming something you like right?" A smile, this time it wasn't forced. "I guess I'm okay with 'em... it's not like they ever bugged me, but I reeeally hate being cold-blooded. I spent my whole life in Pennsylvania, not the warmest of states." Ian seemed to be taking the whole change really well, which was incredibly good. She didn't want to see him upset.

Ian grimaced "I'm sorry, I never liked being cold either. Are your sweatshirts warm enough?" HE tried to scratch a point on his arm that was itchy, but then realized that with his hardened fingernail covering his entire fingertips he couldn't. Giving a low noise in his throat he scraped his arm against the edge of the able trying to relieve it. Ah, that was better. "I'm going to go grab some greens," he said quickly heading to the counter and grabbing a salad and water. HE returned with what he normally referred to as "rabbit food" and began to munch on a slice of lettuce grinning good naturedly.

"Yeah, I'm okay." Amaya watched him relive an itch and frowned, figuring he was probably okay to talk about it with how open he was acting. "Try rubbing the itch instead of scratching it if you can't, that helps sometimes." She said once he came back. "It nice to know I'm not the only herbivore here. Everyone else seems to only be able to stomach meat."

Ian choked on his lettuce, a revelation coming to him. "Predators," he said, wary fear entering his green eyes. "Ambrose is a predator, and there may be others....it's not safe." His eyes darted around as if watching for the aforementioned predator. "You don't think they'd try to eat me do you?"

Amaya stared for a moment, mouth full of apple before stiffling a laugh and swallowing. "Nooo, no, no! They might be predators but I doubt they'd loose enough of their senses and eat you." To be honest, she didn't know if they would or not... but it was best not to feed Ian's fear. "And if someone did pounce ya, I'd be there to back you up." She gave a sharp-toothed grin and... probably wouldn't be much help in the worst case scenario.

Ian flushed a pale pink. Of course they wouldn't attack him. He started another piece of lettuce, eyes still darting around occassionally. "I'm glad there's someone on my side," he said between chewing. "I had never thought I'd ever be prey before, I suppose this island is a great way to discover how animals truly feel." He smiled wryly. "Being human one never thinks about or has to really worry about other animals eating you. Do you know what type of reptile you are?" he asked curious, but hoping he woouldn't distress Amaya with his question.

The young girl nodded in agreement with him, then looked up at the question. "Uhmm..." She frowned, looking down at her feet and curling them. "I dunno. I know it's not a snake or frog. It's gotta be some kind of lizard. One with claws." Green gaze shot back up to his, merely looking at her deformed feet caused her stomach to churn.

Ian followed her gaze down to her feet, and suppresed a shudder. Those long toes were rather creepy. "I didn't know any lizards had claws." he said. "I know mammals better than reptiles. He finished his salad and washed it down with water, taking care of his single plate. "And I thought lizards ate bugs, like frogs. Do they eat other stuff too?" he had asked this because Amaya had been eating an apple.

"Komodo dragons and iguana's have claws and they're in the lizard family... right?" She wasn't sure herself to be honest, then shuddered at the thought of craving bugs like Hargun. "I dunno, I thought they did too... but I've only been craving veggies and fruits."

Ian nodded thoughtfully. "Okay." he didn't know so he took Amaya's words at face value. "Fruits and greens are healthy. I should know. I have to eat them now." Ian had an odd expression on his face. "I always fancied myself a meat and potatoes guy. Guess there's no more meat for me." He was disappointed, but even thinking about eating meat made his stomach churn uneasily. "Not that I want to eat meat anymore," he added.

"Same here. My dad was always one of those big meat-eating guys so that's what I got used to. I rarely ate veggies and fruits... though now I have to." Amaya finished off her apple and turned the core around in her hands, examining it. "Doesn't bother me much, though."

Ian laughed, his first laugh since changing. "Guess this island changes us all. Icould get used to eating salads, but on the way here," his voice dropped to whisper and Ian looked horrified. "Coming here, I wanted to eat the grass outside the duplex."

Amaya's eyes widdened, startled. She frowned and looked down, trying to think of some way to feel better. "Well... least your not craving bugs." Another forced smile appeared, this time for Ian's sake. "Hargun has been craving bugs ever since she changed."
