Off in the distance she heard a rumble of thunder. Raindrops began to trinkle onto the rusty awning at the front of the shop. "Well, I guess I might as well get a few new mixes ready...not like I have anything else better to do," she murmered to herself out loud. In the back of Twig and Berries was a small kitchen that resembled more of a lab than a place to cook food. "A little milk thistle bud, mmmm purple. I like purple. Purple is a pretty color." she incoherently mumbled to herself. She never has company and her only friend is the sheep she keeps in the back. Talking to herself is her only way of staying sane in her lonely world. She grabbed a large leaf from an aloe vera plant, split it in two and squeezed the gel from within into the bowl with the thistle. "This is gonna taste like crap. It needs something to make it a little palatable." Reaching into the cupboard above her head she brings down a little bear filled with honey. "Hi Hector. Can I squeeze a little bit of sugary goodness out of you? I didn't think you would mind too much. 'Scuse me Hec." She gave a hefty squeeze until the bottle sputtered. " A few more things....hmmmmmm.....some OJ sounds interesting and maybe a banana to thicken it up a bit." She poured all of it into the bowl and whisked her little heart out. She liked to whisk. She liked to whisk ALOT! Her eyes got huge and a large crooked smile appeared on her face. "Vrrrrroooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmm," she sang as she spun her arm as hard as he could in the bowl. It was the tiniest things that amused her. After the mix was fully uniform she measured out 3oz. into little green vials, and labeled them Morning Glory (alcohol detoxifier). She then placed them in a basket and waddled them out to the store front and placed them near the register that was reserved to the week's special elixir sale. The basket had a tag on it which gave the price of buy two get one free or 3 gold each. "Mmmmm.....tea. Tea sounds good. I want some tea. I'm gonna go make me some tea, and maybe a cookie. Yeah, a nice lavender cookie and tea. Yesssss, cookie and tea." She continued repeating the rant until she went to the back of the structure and made her tea and cookie. She sat in a comfy chair while enjoying her treat and listening to the trinkle of the raindrops. She wondered if anyone would come to the store with such bad weather on the way. Sighing, she layed her head back and relaxed.

Daelik had opened his mouth to say something snarky to X, when he felt a hand clamp down on his shoulder. He looked at it with a frown. Kyo's hands looked perfectly proportional in relation to his body, but individually, anyone could tell his fingers were abnormally long. This was because they had been broken, reset, and healed by magic several times in a matter of moments. As Daelik remembered when it happened, his frown deepened.
"Please, Daelik. His offer is more than generous. You know how I deplore violence." Kyo said over Daelik's shoulder. He took the coins from X and was about to say something snide when Kyo's grip grew tighter. Daelik turned to glance at the person standing behind him, the look in Kyo's eyes was killing cold. Trying to keep his cool, Daelik simply walked back into the kitchen while grumbling to himself.

Almost dissapointed by the lack of confrontation X turned to Kyo. "Looks like you two have some history, but I really dont wanna know what it is. I'm sorry if in anyway I hurt your pride, but I'm sure you didnt want to wash dishes and I really didnt feel safe letting those girls walk around by themselves and i really didnt want to rangle them to wherever the hell it is they're staying alone. So Lets just save this conversation and attack the problem at hand." X turned toward the door. "s**t, theyre already out the door. Come on Kyo, we best get out there before they get themselves into more trouble." X headed toward the door without waiting for a reply from Kyo, X left 2 more gold coins on the table annonamously. Kyo and him obviously had some past and if X had caused a problem between the two Dealik seemed like the kind of person that money makes everything better. X exited the pub and found the girls scattered about the front of the building. "So where are you all staying because the porch of the pub we just got kicked out of is not a good choice."

Thankfully, their continued search took little time. At Neko's call, Yuki veered his attention toward the front of the pub and to the two girls out front. Just as he had opened his mouth to ask where Hitsu could be, she had appeared outside the door as well. With that... Fish girl they'd found earlier. He watched them for a second, but seemed to disregard his immediate concern toward Poke when he noticed her holding herself up. "Hey!" He called, generally to get their attention. "We've been looking all over for you." All over being an exaggeration, but who would know better?
"Yuki! What on earth happened to you!?" His sister exclaimed, looking startled at the sight of his bandages.
"I see you found her an outfit." Yuki stated, gesturing toward Riyo in an obvious attempt to change the subject. At least it wasn't quite so awkward to look at the girl anymore, "Looks good." He couldn't help but laugh lightly, "We found her with nothing, and now she's covered from head to toe. Big difference, isn't it?"
Hitsu gave a nod, "She picked everything out herself, she seems very happy with it." Then, she reached out to tug Yuki's arm closer. "Now, back to this?"
Yuki winced, "Don't touch it, it hurts..."
"Why does it hurt? What'd you get yourself into this time?" Her tone was scolding, as though she believed it was something that could have so easily been avoided.
"I made a friend." He replied, dripping sarcasm. "Don't worry about it." Catching movement at the door, Yuki looked up to see X taking his leave. He did not know this man, but processed well enough that he was talking to the women. It bothered him that this stranger wanted to know where a group of girls were staying, of course that was due to his mind leaping to the most morally wrong scenario available. "We're just passing through." Yuki answered calmly, with no care on whom the question had been directed toward. He placed a hand on his sister's shoulder, pulling her closer in order to lead her quickly away should X be uncomfortably persistent.

“Yo….You’re not okay?” Mitsu was confused. The look on Riyo’s face didn’t suggest that she really meant what she said. At least Mitsu didn’t think so. People don’t normally smile when they aren’t okay, do they? When Riyo turned to leave heading toward the two returning men, Mitsu tilted her head a bit. “Why is Riyo not okay?” Riyo was probably to far to hear her now, but she had mainly whispered it to herself outwardly thinking.
Turning toward Hitsu, Poke, and X as they exited the pub Mitsu gave a smile. Everyone was together now. “Staying?” Mitsu repeated the key word in X’s phrase unsure how to answer. “The forest?” She looked to Yuki questioningly, not certain if that was the right answer.
When Riyo had bounded up to him with his shirt, Neko smiled gratefully patting her on the head as he took it from her. “Thank you, Riyo. It’s good to see you have your own clothes now. They…” Neko looked her over for a moment. He would have imagined Riyo would have looked cuter in a dress or something like that, pants weren’t really what he had in mind. “Suit you.” He finished. Why tell her otherwise? At least she was covered now, not that he really minded the view from before.
Eyeing X curiously as he exited the pub, Neko too stood a little closer to Hitsu and the other girls. He wasn’t sure what this guy had in mind. “No need to worry about it, Granps, we can take care of these girls from here.”

Riyo smiled as she was showered in compliments. She'd never felt like this before. So... Welcomed! The kind words had distracted her fromthe previous conversation she'd been having with Mitsu. She nodded to Neko as he thanked her and looked over at Yuki. What had happened to him? She frowned a little and stared at his arm.
Another flash of memory hit her as she stared. A small child sitting in a corner, holding her bloody arm with tiny red tears in her eyes. "What's wrong honey?" A voice asked from the other side of the room. "They threw rocks at me again..." There was a smile. "It's okay... I'll make it better..." The figure approached the girl with a smile, but hidden from the girl was the knife behind the figure's back.
Riyo shook her head and blinked. Oh... What a blistering headache... She winced for a moment and sighed. "Nyuuu..." She mumbled and rubbed her forehead for a moment. These flashes were becoming more frequent... She didn't understand where they were coming from. 'Things will be clear in time... ' That haunting voice called to her from deep within the confines of her mind.

ahha, they had finnaly found them and everyone was here. Although, she hadn't done much of a job watching them, as she said she would.
another thing poke noticed was that yuki seemed to be more banadge then person now. "what happened to him?" she asked neko, whom she guessed might give a better answer, before resting her head against the wall again; the world was starting to spin.
As she tried to make her hewad stop spinning, she watched x come out of the pub yuki's reation to him. And, kyo didn't look to friendly at this time either... Ugh, how long was this achohol effect gonna last?!

Gramps? Kids have no respect these days. Despite his deplorable manners he seemed to be known by the rest of the group. And It seems hes just protecting them, a little late but I guess better late then never. But showing up a little late can always be too late."Alright, I get it: angst ridden, hates authority, doesnt trust anyone, Ive seen it, lived it, respect it, whatever. I had no intention of "doing" anything with any of these girls except protect them from the undesireables you so obviously see me as. But let me tell you kid. Theres things around here that you and your friend the mummy wouldnt be able to...wait...cant protect them from. Thats where I come in. I have more battle experience than everyone in your little posse put together. So sees as how your one man down you cant possibly think you can defend all this girls by yourself. Allow me to accompany you. Think about it kid, your not going to get my level of protection for the price Im giving you....which is free."
X knew now, this wasnt going to possibly lead to his next fight, it was without a doubt his ticket to his next brawl, and with the thought of that a shot of excitement ran up his spine. Just then he remembered Kyo. This could also mean that he could see Kyo fight, a treat indeed. This could work, no this has to work. "Think about it kid, with me and Kyo escorting you, your worries are over. When king tut heals well have more than enough people to keep the girls safe. Right Kyo?" X laughed a little on the inside knowing that Kyo undenyabley hated him right now.

Neko gave a bit of a snort listening to X ramble on. He was sure this old man was overestimating his abilities just a bit, not to mention he didn’t trust him. “Something tells me I would be getting exactly what I’m paying for.” Taking hold of Mitsu’s collar Neko pulled her back toward him and the other girls. “Thanks but no thanks.”
“B..but,” Mitsu looked up at Neko and then to X a look of confusion setting in on her face. Why was there tension between them?
Neko only gave Mitsu a small glance before he turned his attention back to X. He didn’t like the look in his eyes. This guy was begging for a fight and that gave him no comfort that he might not turn on them at some point in their journey. “If you care to argue your point further,” Neko edged a finger into the loop of one of the blades at his thigh slowly pulling it from its holster. “I would be glad to prove you wrong.”

"number one." X held up his index finger, "The last part of that was not directed to you, so it was impolite to go out of turn." Lifting his middle finger as well."Number two, Dragging the person your protecting around by the collar is not very nice." Raising the next sequencial finger."Number three. Free of charge is a hell of a deal, number four, you shouldnt play with knives, you may hurt yourself" X held out all five fingers now. "And number five, only a coward hides behind distance and little girls." X smiled and began waving the clearly agitated Neko in.

Kyo had felt the same pain as X when Daelik withdrew from the room without a fight. He had been practicing his pretend people skills nearly all night. Many-as-One was gnawing away at the back of his mind. He wanted to either move on, or break something. Or both. When X made his appology, moved to the door and beckoned him on, Kyo lingered for a moment.
"History? Nah. He's just the same as me, is all. Same discarded afterbirth." He muttered to himself as he looked at the door Daelik had left through.
Jogging to catch up with X, Kyo pulled his sword off of Rei Ichi and pinned it to his back so that Poke could use the wolf as transport. When he got to the doorway, he arrived just in time to witness the exchange of the unknown male and X. When the newcomer jerked the girl by the collar and drew his knife, the wardrums started pounding in his head.
He dropped both of his hands, palms facing the ground and began to run the runes for a spell through his mind. He wasn't going to make this one lethal, given the proximity of his acquantances (though, this was only barely a concern to him), and he didn't put too much juice into it. That would increase the risk of hitting an innocent. Instead of jumping right in and getting his kill on, he was going to wait silently in the doorway and see what X was going to do. He was more curious than anything else. The monster waited in the entryway, the grin that stretched across his face allowed his teeth to shine in the darkness.

“Number one,” Neko used the same tone X had but held up his middle finger first instead. “If your trying to sell your services, free or not, to this group it concerns me whether you like it or not. Two,” He held up his index finger next. “This mutt is more a matter of obligation than anything else. Three,” Neko pushed Mitsu toward Hitsu and the others in a less than caring fashion. “Free is a good price but it doesn’t mean I’m not going to pay for it in the end. Four,” Neko continued on finally flipping up his blade into his hand. “I’ve been playing with knives for longer than you think and the only one in risk of getting hurt is you, old timer. And Five, and most importantly,” Neko flipped up another blade into his hand catching a glimpse of another man standing in the doorway of the Inn. “Two against one isn’t exactly fair so I’ll take any advantage I can get. Whether you consider that cowardly or not is your own problem and not mine.” Neko’s eyes glimmered dangerously as he focused on the two watching for any sudden movements. He could feel his demon side starting to take over, it was enjoying the thought of a fight a little too much.
Having stumbled when Neko pushed her aside, Mitsu landed gracefully on her face not far from Hitsu’s feet. Letting out a bit of a whine Mitsu pushed herself off the ground rubbing at her now throbbing nose. Turning back, Mitsu got to her feet quickly and ran to stand in front of Neko. “No! No please! Please don’t fight!” Reaching out to take hold of Neko’s shirt her hand was brushed aside.
“Go stand with the others,” Neko said harshly not taking his eyes off the two.
“But,” Mitsu cast glances between the men for the longest time not moving from her current position unsure what to say to make them stop. There was no need for them to fight so why were they? Turning toward Yuki she hoped he would say something to make Neko stop or back down. “Yuki?”

Riyo's transe was broken when she smelt the air thicken with tenseness. She blinked and looked toward Neko, then the man she didn't know as well, then peeked over to the enterence by leaning to the side. Their bodies had stiffened. All on edge. Her ears twitched. Conflict. Over what? She didn't know. She scratched the back of her head. Maybe they were fighting over territory or something. She'd done that before. "M'nyuuuuu.." She pondered for a moment, then looked around after that got boring. She wasn't about to intrude on someone elses fight. As far as she knew, it wasn't her business.
She noticed a large, black bird perched on a barrel over by one of the buildings. It was a raven, but she didn't know the difference. "Nyuu!" With a smile, she trotted over and stared at the bird. The raven simply stared back, unmoving. Her tail wagged. "Nyuuuu? Nyu.." She spoke to it. It just stared. Riyo's eyebrow raised. She'd never gotten a chance to be this close to a bird before. She quietly raised an index finger and slowly began moving it toward the bird, her eyes completely focused on it now. When her finger met with the birds soft feathers, she jumped back, expecting it to fly off. It didn't. It just stared. Riyo's head tilted to the side. "CAW!" It let out. Riyo smiled as she got a reaction. "Caw! Caw!!!" She shouted back.

Pulled away, Hitsu merely stood alongside her brother for several moments and looked between the men as they exchanged words. Not friendly words, either. She furrowed her brow, unsure of just what reason Neko or X had to insult each other so. Though, honestly, the exaggeration of Yuki's bandaging was somewhat amusing rather than upsetting. Though, this was only the case in Hitsu's mind. She'd noticed upon looking up to Yuki that he looked rather irritated by the name calling.
"He said we don't need your help. Isn't that simple enough for your mind to understand?" Yuki finally asked.
"Stop it." Hitsu quickly demanded, in barely a whisper. "Don't make this any worse."
"He started it." Yuki muttered down to her, "What business does a stranger have following us around."
"He's not just some stranger..." She protested.
"If you've known someone less than an hour, that totally labels them a stranger, Hitsu."
"Well... Just be quiet, anyway." She tried to tug on his arm, to bring him out of harms way.
Then, the lovely mood of the two men shifted. Then, Kyo appeared outside of the door as well. Great. Yuki momentarily allowed his sister to move him, taking a couple of steps back. It certainly felt like things were about to lean into violence, right here outside the front door. "I'll be damned, we're just making friends everywhere we go." Yuki mused in a forcibly cheerful tone, before placing each hand on Mitsu and Hitsu's shoulders to gently urge them elsewhere. One against one hadn't went very well, he wasn't about to try two against one unless he had to. Which, unknown by him, was most likely a life-saving decision. He leaned down to speak to Mitsu quietly, "No need to worry, Neko can take care of himself. Just stay out of his way." Then, he looked up to take a brief glance around for the other two girls in their party, and made a beeline for Riyo. That would be far enough away, or so he could hope.
[I will assume that Poke is moving herself via aid of Rei Ichi.]

Shooting a look at Yuki, X paid him little mind. After thinking about it he realized that the chances of this ending without conflict where quickly diminishing. Considering what he was trying to do in the first place this was not working out well at all. Instead of joining together everyone was ready to tear into each other...life as usual. Instead of causing undo stress on the women in the group X decided to be the adult and walk away. Besides the kids just looking after his own.
"Tell ya what kid. You win. I've got better thing to do than trade insults with you. But as an "old timer" let me share one last thing with you before I go. You should really learn to keep your cool. Drawing weapons on complete strangers is a good way to get you or your friends here hurt or even killed. Just something to think about."
X looked over to Mitsu, "Sorry Mitsu, your friend doesnt wanna play nice, mommy says I gotta go home." X turned his back to the group and slowly pulled his hood up over his head and began to walk away from the fight. Knowing the boy would neither heed his warning nor observe the fact that X had his groups best intrest in mind. Instead he would just be the old guy that he backed down in some backwoods town, but thats ok, let him think what he wants. "Huh, maybe I'm making progress." Then as if on cue another though crossed his head. "Besides I dont fight for free." with a small sigh X hung his head, "Maybe not.". Lifting his hand in the air he waved silently and made his way towards the crowd that had began to gather. "See ya Kyo." As he closed in to the crowd he raised his voice,"Go home folks, nothing to see here."
