Akki turned to Liam, her eyes sad. "No...I should go....I need to....to...he never even met Larry!!!!
He said he would come and stay this time...."

Suru cast Liam a stern look.
'Sit. You still owe me an explanation about all of this.'
He looked back at Akki, looking equal parts hurt and angry, turning after a moment and starting up the stairs.
"I'll get Po for you. You should be with family now."

Liam's eyes widened slightly and he sunk into a chair. He swallowed hard and paused a moment as he tried his best to figure out why Suru's voice held such power over him. He averted his eyes to the floor while he waited, praying silently that Ophelia stay asleep.

He nodded, coming back down the stairs, murmuring, roughly,
"I'm not angry, and I apologize for being so abrupt with you, Miss Akkhina. Things will work out in their own time, I am certain of it."
He leaned on the edge of the couch and pulled a soggy pack of cigarettes out of his trench pocket, lighting a Camel Jade and takign a long, well-deserved drag.

Liam thought about what Suru told Akki. If only said time wasn't so long... he muttered to himself, his tone an attempt at amusement.

Suru shot him a withering look that was a clear, 'Speake when spoken to' expression, and returned to Akki.

Akki shyly walked up to Suru.Placing a gentle hand on his cheek she held Jak's hat out to him.
"If you went to the roof...he might still be there for you...He'd want you to have this."
She pushed the hat into his hands and kissed him softly on the cheek before turning to leave.

He gripped the thing, tightly, until his knuckles turned bone white. He murmured, softly, after Akki,
"I'm leaving, today. I'll be setting up shop back in the ity. If . . . . if he comes back, tell him he girls will know where to find me."
H kept a thick layer of ice on his voice, else it would all crack and melt at once.
"I just . . . . I can't go, Akki. I'm sorry."

Liam averted his gaze and winced slightly, wrapping his arms tightly around himself.

Akki nodded as she opened the door.
"I understand....he needs you though...."
She slipped out into the rain again, her tears silent in the rain as the door closed.

As she slipped out, Suru's knees gave and he caught himself on the arm of the couch, head hung, shaking, gritting his teeth to keep from crying, a habit Ophelia had picked up from him. He sat, weakly, a few inches from Liam, and put his head in his hands.

Liam sat silently a moment before biting his lip and leaning towards Suru. Are...you alright? he asked, his voice soft.

Suru nodded, looking more wounded than batling now. The tears had gon back to their black little hiding place for the moment, and only the hole remained in his chest where the other two thirds of him should have been.
"I'm fine," he said thickly, "I'll get you that tea now, if you like."
