"Yeah, I am," he said, wondering who would invite her over, since it seemed stupid if it was him. She might think he was trying to hit on her. "Hey, Tony, go invite the lady over."
Antony looked at his father, mid bite. Then he very calmly put his sandwich down, slipped out of the booth and walked over to Kova with a smile. "Would you care to join us, ma'am?"

Kova smiled warmly and inclined her head in a solemn little boy. Her dark eyes sparkled with quiet laughter, though, at his polite, too-grown-up manners. "I'd love to," she replied. "Thank you." She pushed out her chair and rose to her feet. Then she paused long enough to pick up her drink and motion Antony to lead the way. "You're not Estelle's son, I'm bettin'," she continued. "Is the... Ah." Reaching the booth, she reached out to touch her daughter's cheek lightly and then swung her hand out to Estelle and Shade. "Hello, there. It's been a while, Estelle."
Delilah flushed a bit at the affection but still smiled. Then she craned her neck to check her mother's tail. It swayed lazily and she sat back, satisfied. Her mother was truly happy and they wouldn't be leaving for a while.

Manuela grinned cheerfully as they were joined by another. Delilah's mom was a little embarassing though, but that was ok, she didn't seem to mind.
Estelle nodded her head warmly, "It has, and no, he's not my son." She gestured to Shade, "He's his son, yes?" While waiting for an answer she stirred her milkshake, glancing over to make sure Manny was eating her apples.

"Name's Shade," Shade said, holding out his hand. "And this is Antony. I'm the coach at Liberty Center."
Antony slipped back into his seat and went back to eating, honestly starving, still. It was astonishing how he stayed skinny with how he ate.

"Pleasure to meet you." Kova shook his hand gently; it was almost lady-like and there was sudden hope that Delilah's polite little manners were indeed learned from her mother. "Delly will be starting school there soon. It's good to know at least one of her teachers."
Delilah glanced at the adults again and then once more settled into her seat. She seemed to be thinking for a moment, allowing the others to eat in peace. Then, quietly, she asked, "Have you started classes already?"

"Yup," Manny told her, "And Antony is in my classes so far." She had a bit of a problem with not talking with her mouth full, but since she didn't spit any of the food out she didn't see why it was so bad.
Estelle on the other hand did, "Manuela, you know better than to talk with your mouth full, it's rude." Satisfied that the girl had gotten the message she turned back to the other adults, "I'm sorry about that."

Shade swallowed loudly, a hint of sheepishness on his face. "Hey, it happens, right? Sometimes you have something important to say."
Antony said nothing, merely swallowed his last fry. "School isn't bad at all."

"Well..." Delilah looked down at her hands and nodded slowly. "If you say that, I will try."
Kova laughed, shaking her head at Shade. "Sometimes but I guess we should do the manners first and then let them break the rules when they need to later. Not that I had to teach Delly that stuff." She shrugged. "Actually, not that she eats much in the first place that she'd need to talk around."
