I said other simply because of all the alternate dimentions out there, so all are possible outcomes.
Simple as that...
Though with all the types of dimentions there's even the possiblility of the ItachiXL as well. Or even Setzer or just about anyone, really. You never know.
But of course in some dimentions certain people don't even exist. So there's a possiblility that in one of them there is no L-kun. And in others his part might be switched with Watari. Or he might even be Count D! eek
There's bound to be dimentions where L-kun lives as well. As for Mary-Sues, I count those as peoples "Personal Dimentions" which another is added whenever a new being is born into this world, or any other, even in other dimentions and universes and galaxies as well.
It's only bad when a "Personal Dimention" breaks into one of the original dimentions. Even more so when the PD is corrupt and insane like mine, due to everything being all mashed up together. Then anything could end up happening to anyone... *shakes head* Endless possiblilities, I'll just leave it at that.
Those are my thoughts. Rather strange but it took me this long to finally come up with an answer to this problem because I don't really like answering such questions. *laughs* I'd so love to see L-kun and the Count sharing a cup of tea and eating cake... they'd probably get along until there was only one slice of cake left. xd Then we'd have a problem.
All in all... It's verily muchly complicated. Yup.

(Sorry, that's my answer to everything. ) Well, I don't think L would actually go very well with anyone. But, if he was so inclined, and Light wasn't on a mad Kira power-trip killing-spree, I'd pair them up. But he's not. So. I shall have to read the novel and learn about B, though.

I really don't think L belongs with anyone confused I hate yaoi pairings, even though I'm a rabid Death Note fangirl. Misa is just not smart enough to be with L, Naomi was already engaged to Raye. Wedy? I really doubt L would like a crook stare Ya, really, L doesn't seem to belong with anyone from the anime series crying
