I've written a review or two on movies, and they were by far some of the best in the class each time, but I have no passion for that.
It's like forcing something and it ends up sounding like someone else talking, albeit talking well.
My weakest point by far is essays.
I'd love to learn how to write better reviews, but I lack just a bit of passion, I just don't feel strongly enough about most things to where I could fork out 1,000 or so words.

Quote:
I wrote a two page essay once.
=O
It was in the middle of last year, and I got the third lowest mark in the class.
51%
Wow. surprised

Quote:
I don't write story stuff ever either, I jsut really wish I did.
The reason that I don't is that I can't think of any good ideas.
I really am concidering doing something with my gods though.
>>
<<
Good luck with that. I should probably force myself to write at least a little bit for my plot. I haven't really done anything in a while, and I'd like to put out a complete Part 2 before I have to start my Summer Reading stuff.

Quote:
I've always written great things when I've had a topic, but I can't make my own topic or theme.
And yet you suck at essays? xp

Quote:
When we got a writing test thing the topic was a lost dog poster, and I managed to pull a three page short story thing out of it, and my teacher loved it and said it would have been perfect if I'd had more time.
It was a humerous tale of how a stressed out middle aged husband accidently drops a couch on the dog from a second floor window.
xD
xd

Quote:
Just for your reference, 7/10 people in my class killed the dog in some way, and that includes the people who chose the other topic to write about.
Nice.

Quote:
My friend (who accidently buried the dog in a half finished swimming pool)has a little brother whose class did the same topics and he was the only one in his class to kill the dog.
O.o
He must have been in like Kindergarden or 1st Grade. Everyone past grade 3 or so would've loved to kill a dog. gonk
I could manage a good thousand on my favorite and least favorite movies, because there's a reason to review them.
Other than that,
=|

I think both of us are amazingly lazy with our plots.
It would be different if anybody cared about them though.
Stupid GCP.

Well, I'm sure I could write an essay about something I cared about.
We're assuming I actually like the topic here.
xD
All the essay topics in grade 9 are absolutely HORRIBLE.

That was my second favorite piece of my own writing ever.
My favorite isn't really a short story or an essay.
We read this short story 'The Landlady' about this crazy lady, and we had to write why she was crazy.
Mine turned into a detective investigating a disappearance and the history of the crazy lady behind it (the landlady).
It was basically three letters, one was a love letter from her fiance to her from the warfront in WWII, the next a love letter reply from her to him, then the last was a letter from the guy's mother to the landlady saying the man was dead.
Everyone in my class who read it (like 10 people here) said it was amazing and loved it, as did I.
I got 14/15 as a mark while all of the people who read it got 15.
No offence to them, but mine was clearly better than half of theirs, and they all told me so.
I lost a mark for no 'human connection', but I can't figure out what would be a better human connection than love and loss.
=|
My friend (the pool dog one) wrote a sweet story, but it had absolutely no human connection.
It was about a clumsy detective who found the bodies in the landladies attic.
>=U
He was expecting like 11 or 12, and he got 15, compared to my 14.

The first church I went to was non-denominational too, but that was because it was on a military base and they couldn't afford to have one for each religion.

Quote:
With youth it was really fun when it started, but then the events became less fun when we got worse leaders, and the more boring leaders are progressively more conservative (for lack of a better word at the moment).
Of course, with that comes emptier events, and now none of my friends come regularly except one, and that's only because her parents are even more religious than her.
Now I've stopped going.
You should go to a different church, I'm currently going to a Baptist church (though I'm not Baptist), and they're extremely more laid back than the guys that were at the Lutheran church I went to.

So much for religious discussion, but our short talk was quite encompassing.
You can't talk about religion forever. But some religious topic will come up again, and we'll be typing in uber-paragraphs soon.

Quote:
My sentences just sort of flow out when I type.
I often don't have more than a vague clue what I'm going to say until it's down and I recite it in my head while I type it.
I don't even recite it in my head, I just read it while I'm typing (it feels as if I'm reading what someone else is typing, since I'm not thinking about it at all).

They have no weight or relevance now that there is a plot.

My problem with essay writing is that hardly anything interests me for essays.
I tend to be a very light and comical person, and only the rare serious things interest me.
Fun things are just so much easier for a person like me.
Of course, no one except my really close friends end up ever taking me seriously though.

I was actually thinking that for a while.

*BONUS DISCUSSION*
Just to add more confusion to the thread!

Why is it that in school everybody thinks I'm a nerdy fool?
Apparantly none of my stories are funny and half of my jokes aren't because they require too much thinking.
Dx
Of course when I'm with my close friends and all the friends I only see twice a year at the cabin I'm the coolest person ever.
emo
They think I'm hilarious, and they're all super fun, but I never get to see any of them.

I think some just believe that their own Christian denomination is 100% correct and reject any other opinions. But this isn't the case in all churches, in fact I haven't seen many (if any) that could be considered rivaling other churches.

I can tolerate it, mainly because I don't go there just to have fun and hang out, I go to listen. I can have fun any other time of the week, 1-2 hours a week in church isn't even that much.

I think the pastor/youth pastors at my church do a good job of not keeping it too repetitive, but I get what you're saying about making the same points later on. It's a lot more enjoyable to be taught how to live as a Christian than to be told how others did by stories in the Bible.

Same here. We need to bring it back to life. Once school has started up for a week or so I should be able to finish my plot. Until then I might do a couple updates. We should think of something we could get the whole guild to participate in, like a Legion X plot (not necessarily based around us, but you know what I mean, something we'd all work on in some way).
