lol dont worry about it. None of us have any proof, just possibilities and either of us can be right. I guess we' ll never know, until Kishimoto(i cant remember his name hehe) makes it clear, if he ever does -.-

Okay, let me try to see if I can explain this...or make it clearer in case no one understood the post above mine. x3
According to what has been(apparently) stated, Pein answers to Tobi. He is technically seen as the leader of the Akatsuki, but Tobi is the one pulling the strings.
And one thing(his jacket) is NOT a load of proof...just for the record. Heck, that isn't really proof; for all we know, he could just have a hood on his clothing under his cloak.
Pein is viewed as the leader by most of the other members(I mean, obviously Flower-chan knows he isn't), but Tobi is the one who holds the most power. Ok, you're right. The jacket isn't a load of proof, but what I was trying to say is that Tobi is the leader and Pain is second in command. It really helps if you actualy read the chapter along with looking at the pictures too tho.

Major Squirrels Sharp Santini Yeah, seriously, Tobi in his scary black cape, noooo! Too creepy! And seriously, how do you get the nickname "Tobi" out of the name "Uchiha Mandara". I think it must require some kind of... magical witchcraft calculus to do that. Just... uh, omg, I'm still in a state of "what the?!" Mandara was his Father. He was the head of the Uchiha clan. When did they say that Mandara was Obito's father?

cannible-peach Major Squirrels OK, something is telling me you guys need to read the chapter over again. Tobi may not be the leader but he is the head of the akatsuki! Did you not see his awesome akatsuki jacket???? It isn't like the other's jackets! PROOF!!! there is a load of proof in the chapter that he is the leader!!!! ...okay maybe I was just so excited about see the new Akatsukis that I didn't truely read anything....okay okay I'm going back and reading it. I don't know....Tobi being leader still doesn't feel right to me. MAYBE HE'S POSSESSED! @ Nerissa BWAHHHAAA! YESSSSS! VIOLENCE!!! Castitas Lilium Uhm. We don't know if Madara was his father or not. It hasn't been mentioned. Neither has it been mentioned that Madara was head of the Uchiha clan. I still think Tobi's Obito though. Exactly, there's no proof of Uchiha Madara being Tobi's father, he could have lived decades before or earlier, long before "Tobito" was born. He was simply the founder of the Uchiha clan, the most powerful known to date, being the fact that he had the power to summon the Kyuubi. Yep, that pretty much sums up my other assumption as well, also I'd like to state my current theory about Tobi.
I personally believe the Tobi is indeed Obito, but the soul of Uchiha Madara also inhabits his body, or he has partial control. If he could summon the most powerful bijuu, he could place his soul into another person's body. Futhermore, I assume with great certainty that the reason Tobi was taken into the Akatsuki as a recruit was all part of a joint plan by him and Pein-san, Tobi wanted to be able to observe Itachi and Sasuke as closely as possible without arousing suspicion. Being the goofy goober of the group was a perfect cover, it's always the nice, bumbling ones you need to look out for... xD So we really shouldn't be surprised that Tobi turned out to be the real mover and shaker of the organization.
