Cute to da max.
But me loves hedgehogs. mrgreen How is it as a pet, anyway?

I did a similar thing with one of the cats here: his name is now Solomon Hat Wallaby O'Leary Kirk. Yeah... long story. sweatdrop xd

And I'm sure you can see what the new guild banner is. ^__^

Hiya. Been out a while. Gaia (as a whole) can't hold my attention much anymore with all the work I've been getting...

Let me break the topic of discussion and add that I like the starting ability theory... though my guy would have nothing as he hasn't even held a sword before, and doesn't know what his sword can do yet. Later on he'll learn what he can do, and his ability list will grow as normal.

And the banner is nice! 'Bout time we got one. I'll have to add the sig image later too...

EDIT: Maybe I should come here more often... so many good ideas being conjured that are really critical to the RP growth that I missed the initial creation process of.

We're just glad you're not dead! Also, an ability doesn't necessarily have to be from battle hardened experiences, but could be anything. A character much like a berserker may want the ability Berserk, or a character based in gymnastics and acrobatics may want the High Jump.

good point. Some abilities are kind of obvious, like an acrobat getting the aerial dodge ability. But others should just be from preference. Like a magic user getting Mp Haste or something.

That makes sense. I took a look at my character to see what could be done, and he seems like he'd be a magic user once he gets magic, but I wouldn't have him learn magic abilities at this stage with no elements.

Perhaps he could have a resistance to or undiscovered ease with magic. Maybe, instead of an ability, you could give him a resistance or two.
Who thinks that is reasonable?

Yeah, that sounds about right - just 10% resist to all but dark, as if he had an accessory on, and, when in RP, an ease of use of offensive magic (but no strength boost as such). Perhaps a Lv.1 High Jump too (due to athletic trait - thinking from Athletics today at school) instead of Defender. On a side note, do we still have leveling up of Growth abilities, seeing as there a no Forms, or are they full from the start? I'd be thinking we don't have levels, as that was more just a reward for form leveling in the game.

I'm gonna have to say you need to stick with either the resistance or the ability; it wouldn't be fair to have both unless everyone started with something similar.

Ability levels... I originally wanted to include them, but leaving them out might make things easier. Either way has minor complications. What does everyone think?

(btw, be sure to check up on the Battle and Magic topics - we need to work out all the dents before we can start)

Right then. I think I'll take the resistance/ease of use then.

If you leave the levels in, then that means we'll need a 'usage counter' on them so that you know when they level - just a bit of a nuisance, because its something else you have to keep track of in addition to EXP. In the case of High Jump, any jump would add to it, so I don't think having levels for Growth abilities is worth it.
