12-05-05: Meeting Lex

Quote:
It was cold.

That was all Aletea could really say on that matter, as she entered the mansion. Of course, it was December, so she should have been expecting it. It didn't seem like Aurelia shared her distasteful views of the cold however, as the little wiggling bundle in her arms obviously wanted down. They entered the living room, and Aletea put Lia on the ground with a sigh.

"Alright, you're out of our house; go have fun."

Lia was just getting over a cold, and during that time, her guardian had been a bit...overprotective. The little corn child hadn't been allowed outside - and being cooped up in the same place for a few days was enough to cause plenty of temper tantrums.

Lia looked around, as Aletea settled onto the couch, to see if there was anything interesting...

Hearing the sound of the door clicking shut, Lex came down the stairs, but was met by no greeting, or sight of anyone there. Frowning, his forehead creasing, he thumped down the rest of the stairs, opening the door. He stared outside with a face of stone as the cold wind whipped by him. He didn't mind the cold. In fact, he liked it. But there was no one there.

He shut the door, turning around, then heard something from the living room. He tip-toed around the corner, his eyes resting on Aletea and Aurelia. The little ice Sin'aeis could think of nothing else to do than stare at them for a moment. Who were they? He'd never seen this baby before. This was confusing and annoying. Why had he never met them? Lex scowled. Who cares, he hated company. He glared over at the pair from behind a chair, eyeing them suspiciously.

Letting her eyes drift across the room, she noticed something over a chair - eyes? While her baby mind debated the possibility of a chair having eyes (she'd never seen it, but there were a lot of things she'd never seen), she crawled towards it with a gurgle of delight. Something new!

As she rounded the chair and saw someone, however, she felt a little disapointed - the chair didn't have eyes afterall. Lia couldn't help but think it'd be fun to have a chair as a friend. But, she told herself as she brightened her mood, at least it was a person; people were friendly! ...too the extent of her experience, anyway. She had yet to meet anyone who actually showed their dislike.

A wide grin broke out across her face, and she crowed her happiness to the new person.

"Hiii!"

Lex eyed the baby, one brow quirked. Hi? What was this baby, anyways? Why were all these babies so happy all the time? He remembered when he was a baby...he was never happy, he was always terrorizing, and people always thought he was a cute little baby before they were proven wrong. He had to repress a smirk at the thought. But this baby, she just came up and said hi? He eyed her, then folded his arms, considering her. Well, she could be good for corrupting. Most innocent babies were. He could give it a shot.

"Hello," he said dully back to her, still looking disdainfully down at Aurelia. What element was she...corn? Yes, corn. Ick. Vegetables. He preferred the bird types. They were usually crueller. But like he had thought, corruption. Bwah. Evil plans.

Normally, Aurelia wouldn't have been this perky; but after being cooped up for so long, she was ready to run-crawl- wild. So, immediately after the 'greeting' was done, she began to ramble on in nonsense words. She had taken no notice of the tone, just that he had responded. Occasionally, a real word would slip into her nonsense ones - it still remained very confusing, though.

And about halfway through all that, her eyes landed upon the crystals on Lex's forehead. Now, Lex didn't know Lia - so he wouldn't know her fascination with sparkly things...and those crystals happily fit into her obsession.

Letting out another cry of happiness, she reached up towards the crystals. Of course, she didn't realize she couldn't take take them - she'd grabbed sparkly things in stores occasionally, and her guardian had bought them for her. So she figured that they were...removable.

Lex flinched, his face contorting as she reached up for the crystal. Immediately he stepped back, his lip curled. "Don't. Touch," he said in a low growl, his fists clenched. Relax, he told himself, it's only a baby. It can't do anything anyways, he said, shutting his eyes momentarily. When he opened them, their ice blue colors were blazing. "NEVER touch," he said, shaking his head. Normally he would beat the living snot out of the baby. But it was a baby. And it was a girl. That would be...pointless, and very stupid, considering pirate guy was around somewhere.

His desire to corrupt the baby had dimmed somewhat. First she babbled at him, then did the unthinkable and grabbed for his crystals. He hated that. Almost more than anything. Trying to take his mind off it, he pulled his radio out of his pocket, setting it on the ground and sitting down by it, tuning it and adjusting the antenna. "S'a radio," he said without looking up at Aurelia.

Lia drew back upon Lex becoming angry - she had problems with the whole 'cause and effect' sort of thing (i.e. she breaks something, and her guardian scolds her), but she got this. This was far more frightening then anything her guardian had been like; her eyes grew wide, and her rambling stopped. If she had been in any less of a good mood that day, she probobly would have started crying.

Then when Lex growled two words at her, she pieced them together - she'd heard that combination before, though she had yet to realize what it meant. Well, now she knew. Before, she had always grabbed at anything (or anyone) that caught her interest; that obviously wasn't going to work with this one.

Then the older boy pulled something out of his pocket, setting it on the floor. He spoke another couple words, and she glanced nervously between him and the radio. The music coming from the radio intrigued her, but her new nervousness around Lex made her uncertain.

"Rahd-oh?"

The corn girl hesitantly reached out towards the radio, watching Lex intently to see if there was a reaction like before. Even with being nervous, she still explored quite a bit.

Other than glancing up and continuing to tune the radio, Lex made no movements towards her. He could tell his message had come across loud and clear though, and for that he was glad. It wasn't very often that babies got what you said, and considering his mood he was happy he didn't need to go into it. Then again, he was never in the mood for going into it.

The radio was barely emitting music, but mostly fuzz and whtie noise. He scowled at it. "Must be some electrical current blocking my reception," he murmured, more to himself than to Aurelia. Pulling a short claw out of his pocket with an odd mechanism fastened to it, he pulled it out to it's full extent. Walking to the wall, he removed a piece of it that he had obviously previously drilled out and disguised with some colored puddy. He slipped the claw in, peering through a small scope on the top. There was a popping sound, and an outlet in the corner made a fizzing noise and then stopped. Lex smirked, pulling the claw out and replacing the wall piece. The radio was now playing loud and crystal clear. Lex went back to tuning it, looking for the right station.

Aurelia slowly began to relax as Lex didn't get angry again. Then her nervousness turned to curiousity, as the boy began to fiddle with the wall, with that strange little tool. Her still-wide eyes took in that he actually opened up a little hole in the wall - being as young as she was, she didn't really notice much on how it was done. All she knew, was that Lex opened up the wall, poked around in it, and then the 'radio' was playing louder then before.

Then as he began to tune the radio, she gazed over the radio, uncertain of what most of those buttons did. She'd seen her guardian work one before, but hadn't really gotten an idea of what did what. So while Lex was focused on tuning it, she reached out cautiously - shooting glances out of the corner of her eyes at him - and pushed a button.

She wasn't really sure what it would do - and it didn't actually seem to do anything, as far as she knew. Lia's brow wrinkled in confusion, and she gave a suspicious glance at the radio; it wasn't cooperating.

The corn girl had almost completely forgotten about Lex again, with this new puzzle before her.

Lex watched, pausing in his tuning as she tentatively reached out and jabbed at a button. He chuckled, shaking his head. "S'broken," he explained, not expecting her to understand but feeling he should state it anyways. "So're those," he said, referring to a couple more buttons, though one hardly needing pointing to, as the button piece itself was missing completely. "These do," he said, pressing a few. One changed from AM to FM, and the other turned it off completely, and for a moment, the room was silent. Lex glanced at her again, then pressed the button, and continued tuning.

He finally settled on a station with a slow guitar in the background, accompanied by a slow, soothing voice. Kind of a slow rock song, but Lex was in the mood for it. "What's your name anyways?" he said, trying to fix a screw but nodding towards Aurelia.

Aurelia watched Lex work the buttons curiously, not understanding his words in the least. As he pushed the working buttons, her eyes lit up: he knew how to work the radio! She had seen her guardian work them before, and tended to associate being able to work electronics with adults - anyone who wasn't an adult and could work them gained her respect. Well, so much as a baby could have - which admittedly wasn't much.

She reached up and began twisting her leaves as she worked through his next sentance. The corn girl hadn't understood most of it. Her entire demeaner brightened however, as she caught a word she knew: name. And thus she happily chirped her response to the other boy.

"Lia!"

Then the baby paused, and began to muse over something. She was beginning to wonder what the boys name was. Normally, she gave 'titles' to people to remember them by - (i.e. 'feathers-girl', 'guardians-friend'), but lately she had begun to like having other names to know them by; at least then she'd understand who her guardian was talking about a bit more.

So then the little girl began to struggle to form a sentance - though most of it came out garbled. All that was really audible, was 'name'...

Lia... he thought. Probably an abreviation, like his name. He preferred Lex, though he had heard pirate guy call him "Alexander" or something once. He liked Lex better, though. "Alexander" was far too long for his liking. He eyed her. Lia fit. He quirked a brow as she babbled out a sentence to him. All he caught was name. She wanted his name.

"I'm Lex," he said, pointing to himself hesitantly. He had just grown from a baby and he still didn't know how to talk to them. He had generally been able to make coherent sentences as a baby. Then again, he was a genuis, he thought with a little smirk to himself. He eyed her curiously. "Who's your guardian?"

Aurelia nibbled on her lip, as she tried to figure out how to pronounce it. She had heard her guardians name before - she just didn't say it. Then, hestitantly opening her mouth, she ventured a try - garbled as it was, at least it was somewhat close to the name, "Letya."

Aletea, who had been close to dozing on the warmth of the couch, returned to awareness as she thought she heard her name spoken. Then after a quick glance over the room, she noticed a distinct lack of a little leafy girl - though she could hear a radio from behind the chair, and hear talking. Walking over and peeking over the chair, she grinned; it looked like Lia had found someone to play with, at least.

Happening to look up, a grin broke out across her face and she pointed happily. Then, speaking again, "Letya!"

Lex tried to sort out who the hell "Letya" was, but before he had time to think through who it could be, a face appeared above the chair, and the baby screeched out the name again. Lex jumped visibly, falling over backwards and staring wide-eyed at the woman. When had she gotten there?!! How long had she been?! Breathing hard, Lex continued to stare at her for a long time, suspcious. But was she "Letya"? Probably. If she was Lia's guardian, then there was no need to fuss.

"Letya?" he repeated, nodding to see if the woman recognized the name. Just to make sure. In Lex's opinion, you could never be too sure of anything. Everything had to be proven again and again. He was a bit of a scientist, after all.

Aletea fought hard to stop the grin that was twitching at her lips at seeing the little boys reaction to her. And she did succeed, for the most part; a smile appeared on her face, but it didn't look like she was trying not to laugh. And then when he asked his question, she finally managed to smother that urge to chuckle.

"Well, Aletea. Letya's close enough, though..." her tone was pleasant and friendly, as she continued. "Lia can't manage my full name, normally."

After that, she momentarily made a face at the baby, inciting a giggle.

Then she turned her attention back to Lex, nodding amiably to him. "Thanks for keeping the imp occupied - she's been cooped up, so she's more hyper then normal."

Lex blinked back at her. "Er..." he stumbled. Watching? As in taking care of? Was he really being...nice? Lex stopped and made inward oaths. He was being all...parental. Like that crazy pirate guy. It was gross.

"Uh, yeah, sure..." he said, caught off guard. He had this strange thing that kept coming back. He kept being...nice to people. It weirded him out, because it happened so subconsciously. He should've just not said anything and left the room alone. His curiousity sometimes killed him, it really did.

He stood up somewhat awkardly. "Yeah, so uh...it was...good to meet you," he said, nodding his head and standing there for a moment. "Yeah..." he murmured, still baffled and still standing there. He wasn't quite sure what to do. He couldn't think. For being a genuis, he was being very stupid.

Aletea grinned at Lex, noting that the boy seemed very dazed. How cute. She noticed that Aurelia seemed a bit tired, so stepped around to the other side of the chair to pick her up.

"Well, it was nice meeting you!"

Then she carried the little girl out, and headed back home.

Lia's starting to talk! Well...kind of.

She's beginning to attempt to talk would be more accurate. And more often then not, it comes out garbled; but I can catch a word here and there, which is only proof that she's actually improving! Ironically enough, the first word I actually caught from her was "Sunny". Or something close to it, anyway...then her second word was mommy. I'm not sure if I should feel insulted or not, that I was second place to a bright day.

Among her plethora of newly learned words, she's included 'no', 'buggy' (I'm pretty sure she's talking about insects rather then an actually buggy), 'Shiney', and 'hi'....and, well, her vocabulary just keeps growing. She certainly seems to understand more then she can say!

She can only move up from here ^.^

12-9-05: Meeting Flitch

Quote:

Sitting in the front lawn of his new house, Flitch was happily perched beneath a large oak tree, book in hand. It was a surprisingly nice day out, so the Blue-haired Sin' had decided to camp out beneath the large oak tree that dominated the front lawn whilst reading his book. It was a nice change from hanging around and reading indoors all day.

Plus, a lot of people passed by in front of the house. It was kinda cool watching a bunch of people walk by. Sometimes Flitch would smile and wave at them, or even ssay hello if he knew them. Not like his old home. Not a lot of people walked there. They used cars, an object Anvion loathed with a passion. It seemed to be a lot more impersonal to Flitch, as well. How could you say hello if you were driving by in a weird box? Nah. He prefered walking...

It had been a long day, for both Aletea and Aurelia. It hadn't even been very far into it, that Aletea decided that both she and the baby needed some time to relax. Thus, taking a walk. What she didn't factor in, was Lia wanting to look at every little thing and talk to every person they passed. So while it was plenty relaxing for the little girl, it wasn't so much for her guardian.

So when they passed by a boy sitting in a tree, she wasn't surprised when Lia let out a happy cry and pointed to him. She didn't know him; but then, the little corn girl had been doing that to every person so far - whether they be little old ladies or frighteningly dressed teenagers. Even a dog, at one point, and Lia had seemed very offended when there was no response.

At the sound of the cry, Flitch looked up from his book, a smile on his face as he automatically waved in response. "Hello!" he called, both in reply to Lia's yell and in introduction. He hadn't seen the two before... but he was still new to the neighborhood, so he didn't know anyone in the area yet. "How're you?"

Lia just seemed to wiggle even more at the response, very happy that this was met with success - unlike the dog incident. In response to Flitch, she gave an answering chirp, "Hiii!"

Aletea just grinned up at the boy, relieved to see that at least this kid looked more normal then some of the people Lia greeted. "We're doing alright. And you?"

Then, she paused for a moment...she didn't recognize him. People they passed while walking, she could understand why she didn't recognize them; but they lived near to here, and she at least knew her neighbors by sight...so a welcoming smile crossed her face, as she realized he must be new. Or, well, semi-new. She hadn't been out and about much lately.

"I'm Aletea, and this little bundle of energy is Lia. We live just a bit over that way," She gestured down the street with her hands.

Flitch grinned, closing the book and scrambling up so that he could go over to Miss Aletea and talk. It seemed to be the more ploite thing to do, and besides... That Lia had funny-looking hair. Or was it hair? Flitch needed to get in closer to examine it.

"Nice to meet you, Miss Aletea." he said with a grin. "I'm Flitch. Me 'n' my guardian Anvion 'n' my family just moved in a few days ago." he pointed to the house behind him as if to confirm it. "Our old house was too small, so we moved here." He gave a small firm nod, as if that settled the entire matter. After all, it made perfect sense. Anvion kept winding up with more and more kids (meaning more and more siblings, yay!), and the old house was just too cramped for them. But Flitch already liked it here a lot. The people here were so nice.

Aletea felt herself give an approving nod - finally, a polite child. It seemed like recently, the only new children she and the baby had met, had either been somewhat questionable (Kilah), or scared Lia (Lex). "Nice to meet you too, Flitch!" She gave a playful wink at the boy, "And you might want watch out for Mrs. Ellison - she's one of those old ladies that likes to pinch cheeks. Just don't tell her I said anything!"

Lia, now being closer to the little boy, gave a friendly little wave, before reaching up and twisting one of her leaves in a habitual motion. Upon hearing the name, she directed a pout at the boy and added her own input, "No fun."

She was, of course, referring to the pinching of cheeks; the little girl had decided it wasn't exactly something she cared for.

Flitch giggled. "I'll have to keep that in mind. I'll be sure to let my brother Kuzu distract her. He deserves it more." Again he gave a small pleased giggle before finally turning his attentio to Lia's... leaves? Hair? Hat? It was odd. Interesting, but odd.

"Um, sorry if I seem rude... but why does she have leaves on her head?" It seemed kinda weird. If it was some hat, then it was okay, Flitch guessed. But still. Weren't leaves for plants? Or was she going to a costume party or something?

((Heh, what a predicament - two Sin'aeis meeting without knowing they each are that >.>...))

Aletea paused at the question. Most of the neighbors seemed content to either ignore it, or accept her explanation...though she had known some people to be skeptical of Lia's origins. But really, why else would she have such strange hair? It wasn't even like she was a normal baby, for that matter.

"Oh - well...she's something called a Sin'aeis. They tend to look a little different."

And she just hoped that the boy didn't ask to go too in depth - people around here were, for the most part, alright with a baby having leaves. Most of them just figured that a Sin'aeis was some obscure race that was mostly unknown. And they were, of course, mostly right; they just tended to disbelieve when it got into the elements part of it.

((Bwahahaha. It amuses me.))

"Really?" Flitch face seemed to light up with excitement. "I am, too! Only I got webbed fingers. See?"

He held up his hand, proudly showing off the thin webbing of skin laced between his fingers. HE personally thought they were cool, since no one else seemed to have them. But leaf hair was pretty darn awesome, too. Least you didn't have to shampoo or brush it. But the news that he lived near another Sin'aeis excited Flitch immensely. Why? Dunno. But still! And Lia seemed to be nice... maybe Anvion could let her come over to play someday!

Aletea chuckled in amusement at this, "Another Sin'aeis, huh? Very nice. It's good to hear that Lia's not the only one on the block, anymore." Then, in another moment, she eyed the webbing with a curious gaze. "So what's your element? Lia here is corn."

Lia gave another happy noise, and reached out to touch the webbing - now that was something she hadn't seen before. And while Lex had scared her by getting angry when she tried to touch those crystals on his head, she still hadn't learned to respect someone's 'bubble'. Except that she didn't do that to Lex, anymore - he was too scary!

"I'm fish," Flitch responded cheerily. He stuck his arm out more so that Aurellia could see better, waggling his fingers in a playful manner. "Hee!" He found it funny that she liked his finger-webbing. But babies always liked the oddest things. Oh well~

Delighted, Aurelia grabbed Flitche's fingers and the webbing. With a baby's single-minded nature, she had no problem with just keeping hold of the fingers and webbing, giggling. She loved meeting new people, especially when they had new things about them.

The girl had begun to notice the extreme difference between Sin'aeis and regular humans, and already her preferences for friendship were becoming clear. If there was something different about them, she tended to like them more. But then, Lia was just a baby, so you couldn't be certain it would remain like that.

And upon hearing Flitch state what he was, she gave a cheerful little laugh, and a cry of, "Fishie!"

((Gah, sory for the lateness and shortness))

Flitch giggled and nodded at Lia's happy cry. "Yup," he agreed cheerily. "Fishie."

That said, he returned his aqua gaze back upon Aletea. "So where exactly do you live?" he asked curiously. "Anvi hasn't gotten around to meeting everyone yet And I was just wondering if maybe I can... um... come over to play sometime...? If that's all right with you, of course..."

((That's alright ^.^ I know how easy it is to get busy.))

Aletea felt a wide grin spread across her face at this, and she nodded happily to Flitch. "Four houses to left of here. And of course you're welcome to come over!"

Lia, always ready to put her ten cents into a conversation, squealed delightedly at this. "Plaaay!"

"There you go - an invitation from the little imp herself," She winked then, adding a playful tone to her next comment, "You can keep her out of my hair every now and then."

Flitch laughed and nodded. "Awesome. I'll be sure to come by sometime. I'll bring along Anvi, too, so she can meet you."

That seemed to be a suitable arrangement indeed. Then Anvion could bring over cookies or whatever and the two could talk while he and Aurelia went on adventures or something...

That would be great," Aletea beamed pleasantly at Flitch. New neighbors - how fun! It sounded like Flitch and 'Anvi' would certainly be good ones, at that. After a glance upwards, she gave a parting wave to Flitch.

"We need to be moving on, it looks like...it was nice meeting you, Flitch!" And then the two were heading off back down the street.

Lia added her own little goodbye with a gurgle and a wave as well.

Lia seems to be developing a strange dislike for horror, as a side note. She refuses to even come near me when I'm reading this book I checked out...

But that's not important.

What is important, is my little girls growing vocabulary! It took a while, but once she started talking, now it seems she can't stop. Much of it is still garbled, but there are just as many words that are audible. And in addition to that, she's showing signs of trying to walk!

I've been helping her with that, and I'm positive that soon she'll be on her feet. It all seems to be coming in one big burst, and Lia seems more energetic then ever. And friendlier then ever...lately, every time we go out, she greets everyone. Or maybe I should say everything, because she's been greeting dogs, cats, birds - animals in general - as well. And then she seems offended when they don't answer.

Ah, well, at least it's entertaining.

12-19-05: PD with Jani and Flitch

Quote:
green - Aurelia
indigo - Sjajan
blue - Flitch

It had just finished snowing, and the white fluff outside the mansion was smooth and untouched. But with a gleeful cry, it became apparent that it wouldn't stay that way for long.

Aurelia had yet to learn to walk, fully, but she was certainly making an attempt at it now. Every step or two she'd fall down, crawl for a bit, then stand up and try again - all in an attempt to reach that expanse of snow. Aletea was leaning against a tree, watching the little girl with a grin on her face; Lia didn't want any help, and was certainly enjoying herself.

Another squeal of joy was heard upon Lia landing in the snow, as she began to scoop at it with her hands.

Sjajan had never seen snow until this very morning, and had simply run out of the house in her overalls, minus shirt and shoes. The toddler didn't seem to mind the cold. Sprinting for the mansion, slingshot sticking out of a back pocket, she hoped that other kids would be about, afterall, it would be no fun doing this by herself!

"WHOOOOOOOOO!"

The blonde jumped into a large snowbank, landing spread-eagle on her face, and lifting her head from the imprint only to spot, and hear, Aurelia.

"... Lia?"

Her voice was quiet, contemplative. She hadn't seen the other little girl since she was a baby!

"LIA!"

Aurelia looked up from her delighting in the snow, to see a familiar face. A familiar face she happened to be fond of, and hadn't seen for a while. Abruptly, snow went flying.

"JANI!"

The little corn girl attempted to run over to her, though with her unskilled walking she did more crawling then running. However, it was very fast crawling, and upon reaching the older girl, she stood up to tackle her. Though admittedly, it was more like falling on then tackling...but that didn't really matter.

And then she anounced, proudly, "I tahk now!"

OMGSNOWWASSOCOOL!

Well, that was the thought that flickered as if on repeat through Flitch's head as the Sin' dashed happily down the street, clad mostly in clothing appropriate for this sort of weather. All he lacked were gloves, and that was only because Anvion hadn't found any that fit over his hands properly as of yet. He certainly didn't seem to mind that, even IF his hands got a little cold. He could go swimming in a hot bath afterwards! That was always cool.

Upon reaching the mansion Flitch slowed, panting heavily. Running through the snow in heavy clothes was HARD! However, such thoughts of merely catching his breath dissipated as fast as the mist escaping from his mouth as he recognized two other figures in the snow nearby- Jani and Aurelia!

"Heeey!" he called, jogging over and waving. "Aurelia! Jani!"

Jani grinned and hugged the smaller girl tightly, before rolling her over in a playful wrestling type of fashion. Still, she was careful not to hurt her. Jan never hurt her friends. Hearing another voice, she paused and looked around, face brightening at the sight of blue hair. She only knew one person with blue hair... Flitch!

"ALLO!"

Waving with one hand, the girl's tan bare arm was easily visible against the snow and she sat up, shaking her head quickly to get rid of the snow and holding Aurelia in her lap affectionately.

"Fishie!"

It seemed that Lia was content to stick with giving Flitch that nickname, and she waved frantically at the blue haired boy. The little girl was beaming happily - Jani, and now Fishie; the makings of a perfect day, in her baby mind. And then after she stopped waving, and impish gleam apeared in her eyes. And then with a whisper to Jani, she suggested a little game...

"Throw a snowbah at Fishie!"

Of course, it wasn't quite as quiet as she intended, what with the excitement in her tone. But she hoped it was quiet enough that Flitch didn't hear...and she would have thrown it herself, but she wasn't very good at throwing just yet; she was content to orchestrate things if she couldn't participate.

"I heard that!" Flich responded, playfully sticking a tongue out at Aurelia. "And you'll never hit me!"

He giggled, flopping down into a sitting position beside the girls, aqua eyes gazing out over the snow. So pretty...! But the call to play in it while it lasted overcame the blue-haired Sin's esire to sit and admire it. They could do SO MUCH with it! Like... build a snowman! Or an igloo. Or at least a snow fort. It needed something.

"Hey... wanna build a snowman..?" he asked curiously, eyeing the two girls. "Or forts? then we can have a proper snowball fight."

Sjajan didn't hesitate. Once Flitch got close enough, she threw a large handful of snow in his face after shifting Aurelia off her lap and leapt on the older kid. She, unlike her younger friend, had frighteningly acurate aim. She had since she was a baby.

"Yah! For's!"

Lia began to giggle after Sjajan threw the snowball at Flitch, especially after the comment he made. After several long fits of giggles, she finally calmed down enough to answer Flitche's question.

"Snowman!" And then the little girl paused, seeming to debating over the choices, "...fort..."

And upon beginning to fiddle with her leaves, it was obvious that she wasn't quite sure which to do. Both sounded fun to her, and she wanted to do them both! But you can't do two things at once, as much as she would love that. So Lia continued to twist her leaves, her forehead furrowed, as she considered the choices.

For any decision to be made in the next century, one of the older two would have to make it: Lia was too busy thinking them both over.

Flitch squeaked as the snowball hit him on the shoulder, then tossed one of his own playfully at Jani. He didn't really aim to hit, so it naturally soared far from its target. Oh well. Flitch didn't much care, anyways.

"We could do both," he suggested. "We can build a snowman first, then a fort. Or the opposite way around. We got more than enough snow around to do both..."

"Noman 'irst. We'll be too 'ired after th' fight."

Jani nodded wisely, having made that mistake before with mudwars and touched one of Aurelia's leaves gently. She loved the other girl's hair. In fact, she loved most of her friends' hair. Hers was so boring. Why couldn't it be blue like Flitch or Ancelin's? Or green like Lia and Lore's? Plus, it was getting really long.

Planting a hand palm down in the snow, then removing it to look at the print she grinned at her friends and looked around.

"Ware tah build?"

Aurelia eagerly gazed around the yard, before pointing to the snow beneath a large oak tree. "Tere!"

In her opinion, it was the perfect spot; the tree would protect it from any further snowball, and maybe it would be out of the sun and not melt as quickly...though she didn't consider the possibility of falling branches or piles of snow being dumped. She was only a baby, afterall.

She directed a happy grin up at Jani after the older girl touched her leaves - one thing she was learning she liked, was people petting them. It felt nice. And in the next moment, she rolled off of Sjajans lap and began towards the tree.

1-1-06: Meeting Chael

Quote:
Aurelia had made her grand escape! Well, kind of. Aletea had brought her to the mansion once more, and became distracted by a book...Lia, being the sort of child that she was, took the chance to escape the room, toddling along. Finally, after much travel (only a couple of hallways, but that's quite a ways for a baby), she decided that was enough.

But now she was bored.

The hallway was nondescript and empty, nothing to play with in sight. So the little girl decided to entertain herself in the easiest way possible. For her, that meant one thing...

Making little balls of light and playing with them! She couldn't keep them in existance for very long before they faded, but at least she could play with them a little bit before they did so.

Freize had gone into that distant state of mind that he seemed to be able to go to, settled comfortably on the porch. Chael wasted a few moments simply staring at the weremutt before growing bored. He crawled off and managed to get himself inside. He glanced around expectantly, as if waiting for something fun to pop out at him. After nothing happened, he kept going.

He explored the mansion for a bit, just wandering around. After awhile he got tired and flopped down on his belly, patting the floor idly. It was an odd form of entertainment, but it was enough. He blew a spitbubble too. What fun that was.

And then he was bored again, and not so tired from his adventure anymore. He hoisted himself back up and returned to crawling. He saw some wierd light in one hallway and headed for it without thought. Glowy! "Aah!" He gave his approval of the balls of light while heading for the girl creating them.

Aurelia perked up upon noticing someone heading towards her - finally, some entertainment! The lights got boring after a little bit, with no one to play with. She gaze a happy squeal, announcing herself to him.

"'m Lia! An' you?" The girl gave a pause as she noted the ear wings, Ancelin brought to mind by them, "Wings!"

The little girl was remarkably scatterbrained, as she moved on from names, to wings, and then finally to what she really wanted to do...beaming delightedly, she spoke again,"Wanna p'ay?"

The boy settled by the other baby, huffing a bit from his travels.. He smiled brightly, "I-" He blinked, unable to keep up with the topic change to his ears. His hand lifted and patted one of his ear wings, "Yah-" And then yet another subject change. He sta baffled for a moment; most babies oculd keep up, but he was a little bit slow still.

He took in a deep breath, "I Chael. P'ay? Chael wanna p'ay." After deciding he was caught up enough he smiled brightly and gave an idle pat to his knees. It was a habit of his- patting things. He couldn't chew on his stuffed dog, after all, ofr he'd left it with Freize. So patting'd have to do.

Lia frowned for a moment, wrinkling her brow in a comic gesture as she tried to think of something to do. Then as a thought entered her brain, she lit up. "I knoh!"

For lack of any actual toys around them, she had decided to create their own toy. Another ball of light. So as she managed to make one, she 'bounced' it in front of Chael, a rather primitive looking 'bouncy ball'. Of course, it couldn't actually be touched (it was just light, afterall), but at least it looked pretty.

If she had more skill, she'd have done more with it - but being as young as she is, the only thing she could think to do (or have the skill to do) was make it bigger. So she concentrated hard, making it grow slightly bigger with each moment.

The boy blinked as that light suddenly reappeared, and he gave a clap of approval. Of course, being both a baby and... Well, Chael, he tried grasping for the ball and frowned when he couldn't grab it. His face screwed up into a confused expression before he let it go, his short attention span not allowing him to dwell too long on it. He stuck his thumb into his mouth, blue eyes widdening slightly as the ball began to grow...

"Ohh." He muttered from around the digit, head tilting slightly. He had never really seen any of the other Sin'aeis' powers, and he hadn't discovered any of his abilities yet, either... So this was his first real glimpse of everything.

He reached out his free hand once again to sort of reach towards it, but pulled back before it got close enough to look like it touched... This was neat.. "I's wike." He offered his approval yet again.

Lia grinned at Chael at the approval, but that momentary event caused her to lose her concentration; she is a baby. Babies aren't exactly reknowned for their concentration skills, afterall. So with that one moment, the ball of light popped. Little sparkles of light drifted from it for a moment, before they faded out of existance.

At the point, Lia was somewhat in awe - she'd never popped one before! Another happy squeal escaped her, and she clapped her hands. "Fun!"

She'd need to remember to try that again! Though she felt rather tired now. Lia probobly wouldn't be trying that again for a little while, though she definintly enjoyed it!

Chael gasped loudly and watched with somehow even wider eyes as the ball popped and sparkles appeared. He clapped his hands at them as if trying to catch them before they disapeared completely. He looked at his hands... Nope, nothing there. Hm.. Where'd the sparklies go?

He searched for them a moment before giving up, huffing a bit.. Aww, they were gone... All of the sparklies and funny light... He pouted a mere moment or so before moving on with his life. Nothing was that catasrophic to a baby, after all, to affect them for longer than a minute. Or even less.

"Wha' p'ay noww?" The boy inquired curiously, looking around the barren hallway for some sort of toy or something.

Aurelia eyed the hallway for a moment, before deciding that they could have fun somewhere else. There was nothing there! So she unsteadily stood up, to toddle her way over to a door. The big problem was opening it, but she finally managed to reach the door knob and turn it. After that, she fell back down to a crawl position - it was simpler then walking, and she was tired.

So she led Chael into the room, and her eyes grew big as she took it in: it was like her guardians bookshelf, only a million times...eh...bigger!

But after the shock wore off, she felt disappointed; books were boring. Maybe there was something more interesting further in, though? So the little girl crawled further into the room, bumping into a table along the way.

Of course, she didn't notice that the table bumped into a shelf that already seemed precariously balanced - but she did notice the shelf go crashing down in the other direction. It didn't hit anything, but it certainly was loud - and all the books went flying everywhere as well.

Chael watched as the girl went to open the door, and then moved to crawl after her eagerly... This new room... Was like Freize's office. Kinda sorta. He stared at all of the books curiously, oogling at all of the colors... He didn't know what books were for, he just knew that Freize liked to stare at them. Sometimes there were nice books though, that he got to see ,and they had bright pictures in them. Were books for pictures? He'd stopped after following Lia for awhile, moving to pull out a book and stare at it.

He opened it and stared at all of the scribblies. They looked kinda like bugs. He hit the page but nothing happened. Hm... He flipped through the pages. Just scribblies, no pictures... He was about to tear a page out when luckily a noise stopped him. The sound of the shelf falling.

He gaped at it for a moment before losing interest- it didn't do anything else, it just layed there. He tossed aside the book he was holding and went to go catch up with the other baby. "Big boom." He noted.

Lia nodded solemnly at the comment about a big boom, while eyeing the pile of books that now lay there. Well, she didn't see much purpose to books in general...but maybe that pile could be of use. And so she declared in a purposeful tone, her intent.

"Dig! Hide, mebbe?"

And with that 'cryptic' comment, she headed for the pile. Surely it was large enough to dig into..and she might wind up destroying a few books in the process, but that wasn't something that would bother her. Her guardian would be horrified, but she never really thought about those sorts of things.

Upon reaching it, she began to burrow her way into the pile - and found a picture book. With another contented sound, she looked at the pictures. Lia was a very easily distracted baby.

The baby brightened, "Hide?" He liked hiding games. He moved towards the pile as well, and began digging his way through the books, moving to hide himself under them. A few came open and his kicking feet ripped out the occasional handful of pages, and although that ripping noise gave him a bad feeling... He let it go. He was playing! No time for bad stuff.

He peered at all of the colored books surrounding him, once again in awe of all the colors... And then he noticed, finally, that the girl hadn't come all the way down with him. He pushed his way up through the books and popped his head out. "Lia? Whew (where) yews?"

And then he spotted her, and his eyes went to the book- it had pictures! "Book?"

Aurelia pointed excitedly to the book after Chael spoke to her. "Wook!(look)"

The book was very cleverly illustrated, and filled with bright colors...all that was needed to keep babies interested. Where she was specifically pointing, was a picture of a seagull - or at least, some cartoonish white bird. "Bir'ee wings!"

Apparently, she thought the birds wings looked like Chael's ears. In her baby mind, this had to be the reason why Chael had ears like that: she didn't exactly grasp the concept of Sin'aeis. She had yet to find an animal that had leaves, so she still wasn't sure what those were...but at least she had found what animal Chael surely must be!

"'Ook?" (Look) The boy echoed, pulling himself out from the books and slipping on over to peer at the pictures. "'Ird." Chael proclaimed upon seeing the gull-like bird, pointing at it.. He blinked at what she said and then nodded thoughtfully. "'Irdie win's."

He wasn't really thinking of anything imparticular, and that curious look was gone after a moment. "Irdie win's wike Chael's ear!" He noticed that they did look ismilar- atleast, from what he could... Remember.. He hadn't seen his ears in a long time, since being in the bathroom and seeing that shiny glass thingy...

And of course, he had no clue what the Sin'aeis even were... He had no clue what they were all supposed to be- besides, his whole family was a bit odd, so he just thought himself normal.

Chael's a Bir'ee!"

Lia declared her newfound discovery to the library, adamant that she was correct. Chael and Ancelin were birds, Flitch was a fish, and Yukito was...well, she wasn't too sure there. Something with a pretty tail - like a cat, a dog, a fox or something.

Perhaps it was her declaration that drew Aletea into the room, or maybe just the open door - but the guardian happened into the room, and simply stood there for a few moments. Two babies sitting on top of a pile of books - some ripped and destroyed - beside a shelf that lay on it's side...it was an understandably overwhelming image.

And then as she quickly got over her surprise, her voice rose. "Aurelia! What did you do?"

From there, Aletea went forward and retrieved her baby, scolding her all the way.

Chael blinked, "Chael 'irdie?" Hm... He didn't remember hearing that one anywhere. How curious... He watched as a woman entered, gaping at her owlishly. An adult! He watched as his partner in crime was now taken away, and lifter a hand to wave. "Bye bye.."

He looked around... And then went back to looking at the picture book. It was awhile until Freize found him, and afterwards he too was scolded and brought home.

1-5-06: Escape into the Frozen Foods aisle

Quote:
After Aurelia's prior escapades in the mansion (destroying a large amount of books on a shelf in the library), Aletea had decided to not take her back there today. She really didn't want to have to pay for damages if she happened to create more - so the little girl was 'grounded'. But Aletea couldn't just leave her at home alone (everyone was out) and thus, had to take her to the grocery store with her.

That was trial enough when Lia wasn't grouchy and wanting to play, but when she was...it was an utter nightmare. Things being grabbed and thrown in the shopping cart, finding stuff she'd put in there simply gone - it wasn't an experience she'd care to repeat. And little Lia had a plan in mind...an escape plan.

When Aletea stepped to the shelf to grab something, Lia reached out and gently pushed - on a display. The display, of course, went crashing down in a loud clatter, and Aletea hurriedly tried to pick it up. This was her chance! Lia managed to climb her way out of the cart, and then scurried to safety.

Safety, was the frozen foods aisle.

Ancelin walked along side of Tenshi's cart as they went down the cereal isle, pushing her own miniture cart stores sapplied so kids could feel involved. She wasn't really pushing it to feel involved though, it was just because Tenshi really did need that extra cart space. Her cart was already full of packaged meats. Mostly pork and seafood though. Tenshi didn't like beef, and none of the family enjoyed eating birds.. This thought made An shudder.

Tenshi peered down at the toddler from her list as she set a box of bannana nut crunch in her cart, wondering why the toddler had so enthusiasticly insisted on comming shopping with her. She was nearly fleeing from Onii. But she shrugged it off and pat the child on the head.
"Tweetie, can you go get the ice cream? You know what we usually buy." She asked, calling An by a none-too-apreciated petname. An nodded.
"Kay."

She headed down the frozen food isle, thinking to herself. The reason she had left so franticly was because Onii wanted her to help make 'mudd pies' and she wasn't about to stand for it. She walked up to the frozen ice cream and was just about to open the door, before she spotted someone who looked quite familer.. Surprisingly enough she remembered this child's name.
"Lia?"

Lia looked over curiously at hearing her name, and grinned widely. "Birdie!"

She couldn't remember An's name, as she had still been at the stage where everyone had titles rather then names - so she simply went for the way she had thought of her. A little thought in the back of her mind commented that Chael had looked like a birdie too, but she shook it off with the thought that while Chael may be A birdie, he's not the Birdie.

Pushing herself up to her feet, she toddled over to An, beaming happily. Some babies might not have cared if they hadn't seen someone in so long, but Lia was the sort that any returning person she had met was treated like a long-lost friend. She was quite the friendlily little baby!

An smiled as she saw Lia come forward, glad to know she hadn't made a mistaken identity.. Although she would of wondered who else would of looked as odd as this little girl. Nearly all the Sin looked the opposite of 'normal'.

"Are you shopping too, Lia?" She asked as she finished opening the door, and began to put ice creams into her cart. First a box of fudge cicles, then kadoozees, then strawberry bars, then assorted popcicles. She closed the door even though she wasn't finished yet, she had to go to another door. She then turned to face her cart to make sure the boxes where set in neatly, her cart practically looking like a well managed puzzle. Stacked and stuffed to fit about three normally tossed cartloads.

"I Esc-ape!" Was the proud announcement to Ancelin, in response to her question. Lia seemed to understand the initial part of escaping - causing a distraction, fleeing the scene - but she didn't seem to understand the part of keeping quiet about it. "I make'd a mess, then esc-ape!"

The display case that was still half-way destroyed was still trying to be replaced by Aletea, along with the employee that had joined her. Unfortunatly, they kept bumping into each other or upsetting the cans, and it would all fall down yet again...this being visible from the aisle they were in, Lia pointed to it.

The corn girl was practically preening, she was so proud.

Ancelin giggled at the escape coment, yeah. That's kinda what she was doign too, escaping the evil clutches of the ever filfthy Onii. But when she pointed to the display, An's naturall distaste for disaray kicked it.
"Messy!" She called out, before going to run off and help clean it up. She stopped though, resisting the urge.. She couldn't clean everything, and Tenshi was counting on her to get the ice cream.. That's right, ice cream. Ice cream that would melt if she didn't buy it and get it home in time.

She closed her eyes and quickly turned her back to the messy display behind her, before she went to the other ice cream case, and started putting in cases of little ice cream cups. Re-addressing Lia, she spoke up.
"Why did you have to escape Lia? That's your mommy isn't it?"

"Yup!" Lia didn't seem to grasp why Anceling was so confused at the idea of fleeing from your mother, but luckily went on to explain anyway. "'m gwounded. I bwoke a shelf...an' some books."

She wrinkled her nose distastefully - not at the idea that she had accidently broke those things, but rather that she was 'grounded'. It hadn't been on purpose! How was she to know the table was that close to the shelf? Or that books were too fragile to burrow into a pile of them? It wasn't her fault. At least, it wasn't in her own mind.

The little girl eyed the ice cream cups for a moment, thinking that they looked rather tasty, before moving on. "SO I esc-aped. Being gwounded isn't fun..."

Ancelin nodded her head agian as she finished loading up different flavors of ice cream, before neatly arranging them in her cart. She couldn't fit much more..

"Maybe if you offer to help fix the books and book shelf, you wont be grounded no more?" She said with the tilt of her head. She never really had that problem, she never made messes. Or did things that would risk making messes.. Namely messing with book shelves. If she wanted a book, she asked Gabriel to get it for her... But that was also because he would usually read it for her afterwards.

"Sense you've escaped, you wanna go finish shopping with me and Shi-shi?"

Aurelia wrinkled her brow comically as she thought about the offering to help repair it. Hmm...she hadn't thought of that before. Deciding that since it sounded like a good idea, and Anceling was older and therefore had more experience, she would trust it. A happy agreement with the idea was her response, as she decided to try it later.

Spending a little bit of time trying to repair something would be boring, but not any more then being grounded. Of course, she didn't realize that most people wouldn't accept help from a baby, when trying to repair things.

Really, who'd wanna fix things? Breaking them was much more fun.

At the question, she lit up - shopping with An! That would be much more fun then wandering around the store on her own, most definintly. "Yeah!" And with that happy cry, she followed Ancelin.

An began pusing the cart agian with a laugh, leading the toddler towards Tenshi. Who was stocking up on cheese at the moment. She then walked up beside her care taker and made a all too innocent smile, tugging her shirt.
"Shi-shi. I found Lia and her mommy said she could hang out with us untill we where done shopping! Is that okay?" Yeah she was lieing, so what? She wasn't making anything dirty or germy, so it didn't bother her none.

Tenshi stood up and set a package of solid mozzerella in the cart, before let out a warm smile and waved to Aurelia.
"Of corse she can! It's good to see you agian Lia." She said, recognizing the leaf hair from the first time An met her.
"Would you like to help An get things on the bottom half of my list? You two can go off on your own if you would like."

"Sure!" Lia gazed up curiously at the list in Tenshi's hands, wondering what they were going after. She couldn't read yet (She was a baby, afterall), but she could see that it was a long list - especially judging by how much things were stuffed in the carts!

An entire cart stuffed with cheese? The ice-cream she could understand: it was yummy. But why would anyone need that much cheese? Aurelia relegated it to the back of her mind under a folder that would say, could anyone read it, 'Unsolved Mysteries'.

"What're we gettin?" Was her eager question - exploring the store, on a quest, with Birdie! It sounded like fun to her. Searching for foods wasn't much of a magical quest, but she figured she could just pretend they were mystical ingrediants to some magic spell. As one could see from her train of thought, she had a very healthy imagination.

Ancelin took the list from Tenshi along with her cart, that Tenshi had emptied into her own. Having to feed so many was hard, and some of the food was going to the GIC to feed some of the patients.. Never the less, An looked at the list. She couldn't read that well, but she could make out the list.
"First we need apples. Apples are... That way!" She said pointing to the produce section, before she started to head in that general direction. She still skimmed over the list though, before looking to Lia.
"What kind of apples do you like? I don't like the red ones.. They're too mooshy."

Lia nodded fervantly to Ancelin, "Gween! They're good."

Though she might be a bit biased since they were green, which was the color of her hair and one of her favorite colors, she thought they tasted much better as well. As for brand types - she didn't really care much. A green apple was a green apple, no matter who made it!

"How much?"

After recieving the answer, she grabbed at random which ones were needed and shoved them into a plastic bag. If she had been older, she'd have thought of checking to make sure they didn't have any mushy spots. But being the age she was, she didn't have much foresight.

An smiled and looked at her list.. pears. Those where right by the apples, so no problem! An took a little big longer than Lia did when it came to picking them out. She wasn't just checking for mushy parts, she was also checking for dirt, bug residue, or whatever might be harmful. When she found ones that seemed suitable she put them in a plastic bag. And after about three minutes of chooseing, she put then ten pears in the cart and looked back to the list.

"Next we need three cartons of strawberrys, and four of blue berries." She said, looking around for where they might be. "And make sure they have no fuzzys on them, that means they're gone bad." she said with a nod, remembering the time she accidentally ate some fuzzy black berries.. Let's just say Tenshi didn't enjoy changing diapers THAT day.

Lia gave a cheerful nod to Ancelin, and then pointed to where she saw the blueberries. After they headed over there, she began to root around to find some good ones - passing over a few that looked fuzzy. Of course, her concept of 'fuzzy' was a little different, as she hadn't eaten any before.

As she pulled out one of the cartons, she opened it to take a look at the blueberries - and pulled one out to take a look at it. She squeezed a bit too tight, however...she was rather surprised at seeing the bluish juice on her hand (which stained it very quickly), and then hurriedly shoved it back into the pile. Her smile looked a bit too innocent, as she tried to wipe her hand off onto her shirt (which just left blue on her fingers and on the corner of her shirt).

Then she quickly found some good ones, and put the four in a little bag and in the cart.

Ancelin didn't seem to notice what Lia had done, for she was busy picking out strawberries. She set them in the cart along with some black berries and raspberries, before she turned her head to see how Lia was doing... immediately spotting the blue stain.

"Ack! Lia you got a stain on your shirt! Hold still and I'll fix it." She said, before she turned from side to side, finding her fanny pack. She then turned it to her side and dug inside, pulling out her handy dandy bleach pen. Who woulda thought someone actually gave in to those Shout commercials.

"Hold still, this'll only take a second." She said with a smirk, before she popped the cap and scribbled over the stain. And before you knew it, it faded away. As if she where a western cowboy An capped it and twirled it around in her hand, before slipping it back in her bag and zipping it, puffing up with bird like pride.
"No dirt is strong enough to withstand An!"

Lia gazed at Ancelin with newfond respect at this. Birdie knew how to get rid of incriminating evidence! Aletea would have been very upset if she'd had to clean Lia's shirt with that kind of stain on it. After a moment of gazing in awe, she clapped her hands together delightedly: and noticed her fingers again.

Showing them to An, she then asked a question hopefully. "Does that thingy wurk on fingew's too?"

She really hoped it did; she didn't want to have to hide that from her mom until she could clean them...and Aletea would again, not be happy. Though normally she wouldn't have minded much, she wasn't pleased in general with Lia - and she especially wouldn't be after this little escapade.

An looked at Lia's hands, and nearly jumped back in horror.
"More dirty!" She said almost infant like agian. Yeah she had gotten over her toddler speech impediment, but she still hated dirt. She then reached into her butt pack and pulled out a moist hand whipe, and scrubbed it on the little girls hands untill the stains where gone.
"There! Blue all gone." She said with another proud puff, folding the now useless rag and setting it on the side of the fruit rack. It was neat and organized, someone would throw it away later.

After that was threw she looked back down at her list, peering at it curiosly.. What else did they need?
"Now we need a bag of oranges... And some peaches."

Aurelia beamed happily at Ancelin after her hand no longer held any sign of the blueberries - she was safe! She couldn't get in trouble for it now, as there was no sign she had actually done anything. Unless, of course, somebody made the connection between two little girls standing besides the blueberries, and a crushed blueberry. So when the next few items were brought forth, she imediately started for them.

She found the peaches first, and gaze thoughtfully at them - they looked yummy. ...surely nobody would notice one itty-bitty bite in them, right?

And she would have likely taken said bite, if she hadn't noticed an employee glaring at her. Apparently, he didn't approve of little children shopping - or just because she looked like she was going to eat it without paying for it first. So she put some in a bag (again, being rather careless), then turned to An.

Ancelin had tossed in a bag of oranges, along with some other prebagged fruits that Tenshi had wanted. She then watched as Aurelia came back with the peaches and smiled, before looking back down at the list.
"I don't think there's anything else on the list.. Think we should go find Shi-shi now?" She tilted her head to the side, looking to Lia, before blinking at the worker glaring at them. She returned the glare with a sliver of red she called her tounge.
"Bleeeeh"

Tenshi pushed and pulled along two full carts, content that she had gotten everything on her list. Everything accept for what she sent An for, and she was sure she would return soon. She went to turn the isle when she spotted the cluttered and fallen display, before she abandoned her carts to walk over, and leen down.
"Here, let me help you." She said with a smile, slowly helping to restack the cans.

Lia grinned at the worker, and made a face of her own to match Ancelins, before they moved on in search of Tenshi.

Aletea smiled tiredly over at the woman, and opened her mouth to thank her - and then realized who she was, "You're...Tenshi, aren't you? Ancelin's mother?"

They had only met one - and a while ago, at that - but she recognized her. This was a moment before she noticed that a certain little somebody was missing from the cart. Up until then, she had been entirely distracted by the display.

"Oh, no! Where did that imp get to?" She groaned, and rubbed her forehead: wonderful. Lia was wandering somewhere around the supermarket, and could possibly get kidnapped, or destroy something! Or eat something, for that matter.

Tenshi blinked at the woman a couple times as she said her name, before nodding.
"Yeah I'm Tenshi. Your Lia's mother, right?" She asked, asuming she was more because she recognized her. And she knew Lia was in the area, esepcially after she commented on a little imp going somewhere.
"An came by asking if Lia could help her get things off my shopping list. They should be near the produce section."

And indeed they still where, An had taken her sweet time walking out of the produce section, teasing and egging on the worker who was still glaring at them. And almost childishly making faces back. She then started to peer down isles, trying to find her.
"Where's your mommy at, Lia?"

Aletea felt her shoulders relax slightly at the news that Lia was with Ancelin - at least there was another person with her. Though that little girl would be in some trouble, considering that she just up and left without telling her where she was going - or that she was even leaving, for that matter.

"Thanks..."

Aurelia couldn't help but giggle at the worker as she and Ancelin continued to infuriate him. He made such funny faces! Anyway, after An asked her, she peeked back out of an aisle at where her mom had been prior; and yep, there she was. At least it looked like most of the display had been put back up...and Tenshi was there as well.

So she headed over there with An.

Ancelin spotted Shi and Aletea, recoginzing her vaugely from the other times she saw Lia. So she contently pushed the cart over beside Tenshi's other full sized ones. She then quickly got in front of the adults, finishing repairing the display. Like hell she'd leave this place with that in dissaray. It had to be clean! and neat! And Sparkly! ... Okay, maybe not sparkly. Sparkly wasn't An's thing. Her thing was seeing your reflection from natural gleam in hardwood tables.

Tenshi smiled as she looked down to the kids as they aproached, nodding her head.
"Yup, here they are. Did you have fun shopping with Ancelin, Lia?" She asked in a babying voice, leening over with her hands perched on her knees. She hadn't known that Lia did something bad.. So of corse she treated her like any odd lady would treat a child. Baby talk and praise.
"Your just so cute with your leafy hair! "

Aletea frowned at Lia, and after Tenshi was done with her baby talk, she spoke in a stern tone. "Well, little lady, what did you think you were doing? You didn't even tell me you were going anywhere! I just looked up and you were gone. If Tenshi hadn't come over here, I wouldn't have even known you were safe!"

At the sheepish look that was crossing Lia's face, her own expression softened. "I realize you probobly wanted to see your friend, but do not do that again."

After the quick lecture was over, Lia seemed to perk right back up from her previous 'sheepish' state. Which would make one wonder just how fake or true that really was...she seemed to be becoming quite the little actress. She grinned brightly at Tenshi then, in a belated response to the comment on her hair.

"Tank you!"

Tenshi blinked and stood up strait, folding her arms behind her back as she gave a lazy gaze to Aletea. Had Lia been bad? Oh well, leave a mother to do a mother's job. She would have to do hers now, before that ice cream melted.
"Common Anny, it's time to go check out. We don't want the ice cream to melt do we, it'll make Vincent mad that we got his car dirty." She said with a giggle.

Ancelin's eyes grew wide. Get Vincent's card dirty? No way! Anny liked Vincent, she wasn't about to get HIS car dirty. She then shook her head and abandoned the final can that needed to be set up, before looking to Lia.
"It was good seeing you agian, Lia. But now Anny has to go so Ice cream don't melt." She said with a big nod, grinning.

Aletea smiled partingly at Tenshi and Ancelin, she and Lia both waving at them as they left. After they were gone, she turned her gaze back to Lia, warring between irritation and acceptance. In the end, she just gave an exasperated sigh then smiled at her; something about the leafy girl made her hard to keep angry at.

"All right, Imp, let's get home."

And with that, the two left.

Growth Quest

A four-winged bird.

How on earth were they going to find a bird with four wings? It was insane!

Yet, as Aletea gazed ruefully at the little baby with her, she thought that most people would consider the idea of Aurelia being part corn insane as well. And that was true, so why not a bird with four wings?

Still. Easier things first: at least she knew where to look for crystals. Shiny things were Lia's favorites, after all!

Lia was the one who took the lead as they entered the mall, however. Almost immediately, the little baby knew exactly where she wanted to go: the jewelry store. Keeping her away from the expensive shiny things, they found their crystals: Lia picked them out, of course.

From there, the only thing they knew for sure the location of was the cage. So, heading over to the petstore, it didn't take long to pick one out. A birdcage, of course - what else were they going to keep that possibly-not-real bird in?

For the last three items, Aletea had to admit she was at a loss. Perhaps some sort of medieval cosplay store would have them? Though she didn't actually know the location of such a place. It was Lia who found that store, tugging on her guardian's sleeve and pointing towards the store with a happy cry of,

"Shiny!"

And indeed. A robe hung in the window, bright blue and incredibly shiny.

In that store, it wasn't too difficult to locate a staff. Though Aletea had a feeling that by the end of this little trip, she was going to be far poorer...

It was after this, that Aletea decided to leave the mall. They found everything else there, but...well, nobody would be selling a bird with four wings a mall. Or most places, for that matter. Which came to the little matter of where to look for one.

On that note, she took Lia with her, downtown - there were also strange little shops down there, so perhaps one would have strange pets? Only she hoped it wouldn't be something like Little Petshop of Horrors.

After hours of searching, a bird had still not been found. It was with a sense of defeat that the mother and daughter retreated to the park, to relax a bit before either returning to search or admitting defeat. And as Aletea sat there, wearily, what she wasn't expecting to hear was,

"Mommy~ birrie!"

Opening her eyes, she noticed something a little odd. Aurelia was clutching at a bird that was doing its darndest to escape, flapping it's wings like crazy. Four wings. Well, well, well...what do you know? You always find what you need when you stop looking.

Oh dear.

What made me think that taking in a bird with four wings was a good idea? I should have known nothing good would come of it. More wings must mean more trouble, because that's what's been going on today.

Somehow, Aurelia and Kishi (her bird) managed to destroy - in our own house - a vase, two pictures, and a goldfish bowl that was thankfully sans goldfish. We also went to the store - and Kishi was supposed to stay home...

Apparently, Lia had hid the bird in her shirt - but he finally got fed up with being shoved in there, and burst free. Lia tried to chase after him.

The end result? A broken display case, and fifty dollars out of my pocket.

I need to put them both in a padded room. Then they can't break anything.

Aurelia: Affinity/Aversion Quest

It's been a long time since Aurelia arrived on this Earth, and while she's already had some adventures, it's time for another. Aurelia must go to the nearest barn (or something similar), and interact with at least three different animals, one being a horse.

"Hello Mr. Chicken!"

Aurelia was a very happy little girl: she was on a farm! She'd never been on one before, but there were so many animals here...like Mr. Chicken. He didn't seem like he was too happy though, with the way he kept crowing at her.

Glancing off to the side....Hmm, mother was busy talking to someone.

Having made a decision now, she slipped in through the fence and started towards Mr. Chicken. He didn't seem happy, so she would cheer him up! Making new friends always cheered people up, right?

But when she got close and reached out to pet him, he didn't become happy, as she'd expected.

Little rooster eyes landed on her. Then a little rooster beak landed on her hand, and very firmly.

Silence for a moment.

And then her mother definintly knew where she was, because how could anyone miss a little toddler running screaming, with a rooster was chasing after her?

--

"Hi Mr. Fluffy!"

Sheep were so fluffy! And there were so many of them! Now Aurelia knew why you were supposed to count sheep to fall asleep - they looked so soft, that it'd probably be really comfortable to sleep on one. Huh.

Why didn't anyone she knew have a pet sheep? True, they didn't smell too good, but they'd make really good pillows...

Maybe she should try it? Maybe they weren't as soft as they looked, and that was the reason none of her friends had one...so the little girl waited, staring at the sheep and occasionally glancing over to where her mother was.

Then...ahah, distraction!

Slipping through the fence in a manner much resembling the rooster incident, she began to make her way into the group of sheep.

"Squishy..."

She was going to be squishy, that was - they packed together so close! And they were so noisy! Lia liked them much more then the chicken; Mr. Chicken hadn't been very friendly, but these sheep certainly were!

"I can't try a pillow-sheep down here..."

On the ground, it just wouldn't work! Although they felt soft to her, since they were all squished around her. So, grabbing hold of one, she hoisted herself onto it's back.

"Mr. Sheep is soft!"

The sheep certainly wasn't happy, that's for sure. Bleating and complaining, but Aurelia didn't notice - she was too happy stretched out on its back, arms wrapped around its neck.

Of course, her mother and the farmer weren't too happy once they did notice her. Silly adults...the sheep were just being so noisy because they were talking with her! It's like babies - they make noises, but they have their own language. She just needed to figure it out first.

--

"Oooohhh! She's big!"

This time, her mother wasn't letting Aurelia out of her sight. Lia was sad about it, but at least she got to stay...her mama had been really angry about her getting on that sheep.

But this one...the horse was so big! Lia didn't think she could climb up there even if mama wasn't looking.

"Do you want to feed her?"

Taking the carrot from her mother, Lia stepped closer to the horse, holding out the carrot. Her mouth was open in a little 'O' as she watched it.

Then she let out a surprised giggle, as the horse leaned down with a whicker, and stole her carrot.

"Silly horse! You're supposed to say thank you after you get it, not before!"

She liked Miss Horse. She seemed much friendlier then Mr. Chicken, and much nicer then the sheep - they'd been friendly, but they were really pushy, too.

"Do you want to ride her, Lia?"

The answer to that was obvious. The 'horse' was in reality a little pony, but to Lia, it was still a big friendly horse. With Aurelia's excitement, she didn't care that it was smaller then the horses they had passed on the way in.

And later 'riding' the pony with the help of her mother and the farmer, Lia was a very happy little girl.
