Maya fluffed the yellow truffle's...hair with a smile. "We can do many, many cute things withits hair." The blue fenthry said, "We can do pigtails, pony tails...and any other kinda tails." She said, standing on Anisia desk and looking for the brush.
Anisia giggled. "Giving Truffle pigtails be cute. But dunno if its a girl or boy." She pointed out.
"Truffle?"
"I have to name them Kiita says. And I'm just going to call it Truffle." The three-eyed girl smiled.
"Ooh. What about the others?" Maya asked curiously.
"The bird thing is a girl. I think I'm gonna call her...Gyp." She said with a nod as she sat down on the edge of the bed.
"Uh-huh. What about the puppy and creeto thing?" She asked.
"The puppy is a boy and his name is Char. And creeto is a girl. Her name'll be Charity. They spend lots of time together, so it'll be easy to remember names." Anisia said.
"Soo. Truffle, Gyp, Char, Charity, and Xor?" Maya asked, looking for confirmation.
"Yup."
Maya carried a comb toward Truffle and began to comb it. "Pigtails or ponytail?"
Anisia laughed, "Pigtails!"
"'kay." Maya busied herself with parting the hair and tying it with hairties. Quote: Dear Diary, Turns out Ally, our own little dragon girl, told Xor about Anisia's quest. It's strange though. Recently Xor found a shield placed around Ani's inner "Self" that prevents connecting mindlinks with one another. She seems a little upset shes the only one who can't hear Xor. She told me about how Yukito could talk to flowers. I think she has the idea she's deaf, even though she's not. Anyway, she brought home a potted flower the other day. A yellow one. She said Yukito helped her and Aard repot flowers so they could take them home (even though we still have a vase full of them from her last ability quest.) I often find her staring at it. I think she's trying to listen for a voice or something. Anisia finally named all of the critters we brought home from her last quest. She named the hair thing Truffle (Maya put pigtails on it earlier,) the griffin kit was named Gyp (I found that funny,) the hyena puppy she named Char, and the creeto she named Charity. Char's and Charity's names are similar so it's easier to remember Ani tells me. Other than that, nothing much is new. Inle and I are planning a playdate for Ciaran, her Sin' boy, and Ani. I'll write about it afterward. <3 Kiita

Paints
Kiita caught the back doorframe before stumbling outside when all the creatures bounded their way past her and out into the back. Seven creatures and four children. How to keep an eye on them all, she didn't know. "You guys are going to have to help me keep an eye on all of them, Ani, Ally, Kaji, and Maya." She called.
Kaji simply gave Kiita a wave in confirmation. He hopped a seat on Lace's back while Maya fluttered down onto Damali's back. The four of them then began a wide, circular race around the yard.
The others seemed to have found their own things to do, some simply relaxed under the shades of the trees near the edge of the forest while some of the winged ones perched on branches.
Anisia was busying herself with Ally. She held one end of the blanket while the other end was in the dragon girl's mouth. "C'mon Ally, you can't have that in your mouth all the time!" She said, trying to rid the girl of her habit of putting it in her mouth.
Ally simply tugged back. Both of them continued at this for a while. A small game of tug-of-war.
Kiita went back inside then dragged a chair outside to sit down and watch. At least it was a nice day. ------------------------------------- Lividie and Aard wandered towards the house. They'd been here before, had they not? Aard remembered back to the time when he was a baby. It seemed like it had been so long ago. And he was correct, they had been here before. Lividie smiled as she got nearer, waving to the other who was sitting down.
"Hi, Kiita!" Lividie called, gradually moving closer. Aard was rather hesitant to continue going further. ------------------------------------- "Hey Lividie!" Kiita greeted with the wave of her hand. She stood and set up a few more chairs in case they wanted to sit. "How're you and Aard doing?" She asked with a friendly smile.
Anisia immedietely perked up as she heard Lividie's call. She let go of the blanket, which resulted in Ally's falling, and waved to the familiar Sin' boy, "Hi Aard!" She looked to Ally, who was on the ground glaring at Ani. She blinked, a little confused on how she got there. The three-eyed girl held her hand and hauled her up onto her feet, then turned her attention to Aard again. ------------------------------------- Aard looked up, not noticing Anisia previously. She was someone he could talk to. He returned the wave, "Hell-o, Ani! How you?" Anisia looked happy enough, but what if something was wrong with her and he just stood there doing nothing? Yukito probably wouldn't be happy either.
"Aard is," Lividie paused for a moment, pondering what to answer with, "Fine. I fine too." She accepted the chair, as Aard made his way up closer to Anisia. ------------------------------------- "'m good." Anisia replied. "Just tryin' to tell Ally its icky to get slobber on her blanket all the time. She don't care though." She said, glancing at the dragon girl briefly. It wasn't really the slobber that bugged her. If it were under normal circumstances, she wouldn't care. But she recently began to feel jealous of Ally, her being able to talk to one of her quest creatures that she couldn't.
Ally replied to Ani with the small wrinkling of her nose before standing and walking toward Xor, the dragon. He'd be nicer to her than Ani was right now.
"That's good to hear. Ani and I are doing pretty well ourselves." Kiita said before looking to the two Sin' toddlers. "Aard is growing into a cute little boy." She commented. ------------------------------------- "Oh," Aard said, a smile of amusement flicking past his face. "So, Ani," He was trying hard to think of something to say or day. "Got anything fun to do?"
"So is Ani," Lividie commented. She knew that Aard wouldn't take to well to being called 'cute'. ------------------------------------- Anisia rubbed the back of her neck with her hand, "Well...it depends on what you think is fun." She replied. She didn't want to seem silly by suggesting something he might find stupid. He was a boy, after all. He probably didn't like much of the same things as she did.
"Thanks." Kiita gave Livide a smile, "Anything new happen lately? It's been a while since I brought Ani to the mansion..." ------------------------------------- Aard shrugged. "Lots of things fun. I don't mind what you want to do," he said. His eyes searched for something interesting and fun that they mgiht be able to do here. Or was everything interesting somewhere else?
Lividie shook her head. "Not many interesting things. Not that I know of, anyway." ------------------------------------- Anisia studied the tomato boy for a moment, then grabbed a hold of Aard's right wrist with both hands gently before pulling him toward the back door of the house, "We're going to get a snack." She told Kiita and Lividie as she passed them, practically dragging Aard through the sliding door.
Kiita blinked but didn't stop the two by protesting. "Do you need help?" She called.
"No." Ani called over her shoulder. Her intentions weren't really to fix a snack. She led Aard through the kitchen, down the hall, into the living room, and out the front door. Out on the lawn, she gave Aard a half smirk, half smile. "I wanna show you somethin'. Kiita don't know about it, and I don't want her to." She motioned with her hand for Aard to follow as she started toward the forest edge that surrounded the house. ------------------------------------- Aard let out a small yelp of surprise as the other grabbed his wrist. He looked around the house as they passed through it. "What kind of snack?" Aard asked. Anisia seemed very suspicious. What was she planning to do? It didn't really seem as if she was in this to get a snack.
Once they were once again outside, Aard looked across to the forest. "Kiita not know? What kind of thing is this?" He asked, once more suspicion on his voice. His steps towards the forest's edge were hesitant. What if they went in there and got themselves lost? "Um, Ani, you know the way through?" ------------------------------------- "'Course I do." Anisia said with a small grin. "Xor helped me." She added as her fingertips touched a small marking on the tree trunk. A two-nailed scratch, no longer than an index finger. She stepped into the forest, but before she was out of sight, she turned to face him, "Scared?" She asked. There was no teasing in her voice. Just curiousity. "Don't have to be. Been down here lotta times. Everyone else knows about it. Just not Kiita." She added. ------------------------------------- "N-no, I not scared," Aard said flatly. He wasn't going to be confused for some scared baby! "If you sure you know the way," He muttered under his breath, following her into the forest. He brushed his hands across the rough bark of the trees, a shudder slowly going up his spine.
"So what we going to see anyway?" ------------------------------------- "Something Kaji, Maya, Ally, Xor, 'n me been workin' on for a few days. Ally wouldn't really be there, but Xor is older and I need to know what he says sometimes." Anisia said as they weaved through the forest. She knew the way to it like she knew the way to her bedroom.
After a few minutes, Anisia moved a branch to reveal a branch-made...teepee? On the ground beside it was some paint and paint brushes. "We got done putting the branches up yesterday before lunch and now we just gotta decorate the outside and do some stuff to the inside." She said brightly. A small stream ran a few yards away from it. "Wanna help?" Ani asked, picking up a paint brush and holding it out to him. "Ally said Xor said we could paint what we want on the outside." ------------------------------------- Aard accepted the paint brush, holding it tightly in his hand. He nodded, crouching down and collecting some red paint on his brush. The bristles were roughly stroked across it. He was no artist, but he tried. The red head wasn't quite sure what he was painting at first, but then it became visible. Red flower petals, if they could be called that, appeared on the side of the 'teepee'.
Next he got some yellow on his brush to create the centre. The red still on his brush spread across the yellow paint, but he didn't care. The yellow and red ran together as he painted. Once he'd finished that, he painted in a green stem and leaf. The typical painting of a flower. "Ani like?" ------------------------------------- While Aard worked on his painting, Anisia drew with black paint the outline of a star, then worked her way into filling it in with different colors. Swirls of blue, red, yellow, green and other colors were seen as she pulled back to look at what the other Sin did.
Anisia gave him a smile and nodded. "Nice." She commented. The same look appeared on her face like when she was considering to pull Aard through and out of the house. She paused, "Can hear flowers like Yukito can?" She asked. ------------------------------------- Aard looked over at what Anisia was painting. The rainbow of colours amazed him. That was a pretty star! "Thanks," Aard replied, continuing to analyze the colourful star that Anisia had painted. "You paint good. Better than me."
Aard shook his head at her next question. "No, only Yuki can speak to flowers," he explained. That would be interesting. Speaking to flowers? Yes, that would be very interesting indeed. "Wish I could, but I not speak to flowers. Only Yuki, none else of us." ------------------------------------- For a moment, a flicker of delight could be seen in Anisia's eyes as she looked to Aard then the star she painted. "Really? Thanks!...But only paint good 'cause star is easy to make." She said, not really believing she could paint better than Aard.
Ani then began to make random swirls, stopping sometimes to continue a swirl with a different color, "Oh." She replied as she listened to him explain. Only Yuki could talk to flowers. She wasn't deaf after all! This made her smile a little.
"What Aard paint next?" She asked curiously, looking to the tomato Sin. ------------------------------------- "I paint a.. face!" Aard responded, grinning. He took black paint on his paintbrush, which caused the assortment of colours already on to fuse into an ugly brown colour. He began to paint in eyes, which were only two dots. Next came a line for a face, with a circle painted around it. He surveyed the image, then forwned. Why did his images have to come out so bad? "Ani, you paint better tha-- Ooh, pretty!"
He was referring to the swirls that cormed from Anisia's brush. There were so many colours, and they were better than anything he could do, he decided. "Like swirly things!" ------------------------------------- Anisia giggled. "I paint face too!" With that, she dipped her brush into the red can and advanced toward Aard quickly. Once she was close enough...
She poked him. With her brush. On the cheek.
A grin appeared on her face before laughing at the small red dot on Aard's cheek. ------------------------------------- Aard hadn't expected Anisia to be so literal on her approach of painting a face. When she began advancing, Aard got an idea of what she was going to do. However, he couldn't exactly escape. Atleast red was a good colour.
Now it was time to declare war! A paint war, of course.
"You're going to pay for that!" Aard said jokingly, taking his own brown and aiming for stroking it down Anisia's arm. Hey, this was fun! ------------------------------------- "Hey!" Anisia grinned and swiftly went for the blue paint can and dipped her paint brush in it and swung.
The brush wasn't meant to hit Aard, though the paint from the end flung out to make speckles of blue on him. ------------------------------------- Aard hopped backwards as he was struck by the blue paint. For a moment his face was full of irritation, but then quickly gained a smirk. His dropped his brush and picked up a paint tin.
"What're you gonna do 'bout this?" He asked, ready to toss the paint over Anisia. However, he abruptly stopped.
"AARD!" Called a voice from somewhere. It was loud from its source, but not too loud from their position.
"Um," He said softly, then placed the paint can back down. ------------------------------------- Anisia took a small step back as he picked up the paint can, but immedietely perked up as someone called. The smirk formed on her lips this time. "Time to go!" She said to him, quickly hurrying to the tepee and coming out with some paper in her hands.
"Run to side of house and pretend we paintin'." She explained, gathering a single can of paint and a brush. It was no use trying to wash off the paint before they were found.
"Aaaniii!" Someone else called after the first call to Aard.
Motioning for him to follow, Ani started to run in another direction. She knew their woods well. Once found, she'd simply say they took their paints to the side of the house instead of staying in. ------------------------------------- Aard nodded and followed Anisia's lead in taking a paint can. In another hand he held his paint brush. Once both items were firmly in his hands the red head darted after Anisia to the side of the house.
"So, um, what are we going to paint now?" Aard asked nervously, dipping his brush into the can and then taking it out once more. "What are we going to paint on?"
"Aard! Where are you?" Lividie clled, persistant in finding the boy. ------------------------------------- Once at the side of the house, Anisia quickly took a seat in the grass and put the supplies she managed to bring with her in front of her. "Uhm, I dunno...just paint somethin'." She said, handing him a sheet of paper she had brought of the tepee.
She dipped the paint brush in the can and just began to paint what was supposed to be a rabbit, but it ended up looking like two circles with two things sticking out of the top of one of the circles.
After waiting for Aard to get settled, she called back, "We're here!"
With that, she gave a small sigh of relief.

Meetin Ciaran
Kiita said it'd be fun to finally be able to meet Inle's Sin. Anisia agreed to go along...it was always nice to meet new people, but aside from Aard and Yukito, the cinnamon bun girl hadn't met any other boys. Who was this Inle anyway? And why was Dami, a nickname she picked out for Damali, coming with them? Dami was always left at home with the others.
"I think this is it!" Kiita exclaimed, urging Anisia to come with the slight tug of her hand. "Come on, come on!" She said with a smile as they neared her friend's place.
Damali followed the two of them happily, needing no urging or pushing or pulling to get her to obediently pad behind them. Seeing Tama again was a good enough reason for her to come along.
"INLEEE!" Kiita called. ------------------------------------- The spotted banthi knew that company had arrived, and more importantly who their company was, long before Inle herself did. Tama had scented his lady love from quite a ways off, and was circling the area surrounding the house as though he were stalking prey. Kiita's call alerted him to Damali's proximity, and he dashed into the house, his nose now leading him to Inle.
While the winged banthi was going crazy outside, Inle was going crazy inside. Apparently, she had long ago put some fancy glasses in a high cabinet in the kitchen, but she was far too short to reach them now, so she had enlisted Ciaran's help. He was now sitting upon her shoulders, handing the glassware down to her. She nearly dropped both a glass and the Sin'aeis that sat upon her as Tama skidded into the kitchen, moving behind her and scooting her towards the door with the aid of his horns.
"Hey!" she yelped, nearly dropping both Ciaran and a glass. "What the hell are you doing?!" Tama merely growled at her; Ciaran held on for dear life. As Tama pushed her closer to the front door, she heard someone call her name from outside. Taking both hints, she shooed the banthi away and went the rest of the way to the door under her own power, opening it carefully so as not to hit Ciaran with it.
"Kiita!" she exclaimed, startled; she hadn't expected the other woman's company today, but she certainly wasn't sad to see her. "Kiita and company, I should say," she said, watching Tama shoot out the door towards Damali. "What brings the three of you around today?" she asked, carefully negotiating Ciaran's form off her shoulders. The lapine Sin stood at his mother's side, partially hidden by her, although his tilted head was visible. White hair fell into his eyes as he glanced at his fellow Sin; he hadn't seen another one of his kind since the flower-killing girl. ------------------------------------- Damali grinned and started off at a run toward Tama as well, careful to slow down before they collided and crashed into each other. She gave him a happy nuzzle and purred with delight to see her love again. Hello! The female greeted, her striped tail wagging cheerfully. I had to come when I heard Kiita and Ani were coming over to meet your caretaker's boy. She said with a smile.
"Oh, more than one reason. I hope you don't mind me dropping by without notice or anything." Kiita started as they neared closer to the door, "I was feeling a little bad about not getting Damali nor Ani out much. And I had always made it a point to meet with your Sin sometime!" She said with a smile, "So, who is the little guy? He's cute." She said with a chuckle.
Ani's eyes widened as Damali and the other cat thing ran toward each other. Theyweregoingtofight! "DAMI!" She called immedietely. She wouldn't let Dami get hurt! But Dami's tail was wagging...so...they weren't going to fight?
Kiita gave Anisia a quizzical look, "Something wrong, Ani?"
The Sin girl shook her head after a moment, then Ciaran caught her attention. She kind of just stood there. "...Hi." She said, looking to Inle and Ciaran. ------------------------------------- Tama purred, feathers ruffling and smoothing excitedly as he playfully butted his head against her own. I'm so glad you did, I was starting to go through you-withdrawl again. See what you've done to me? he mock-lamented with a happy growl.
Inle eyed the pair of banthis curiously before turning her attention back to her guests, standing away from the door a little to allow them entrance. "No, not at all, you know you're always welcome!" She ruffled Ciaran's hair at her friend's question. "Thanks, and the same could be said for your little one! This is Ciaran, the carrot er...whatever they were called."
"Sin'aeis, Mommy," Ciaran reminded her, still looking at the cinnamon bun girl before him. She looked almost familiar to him, as if they had met when he was younger. He glanced at her with an almost detached interest, as if he were an adult looking at a piece of artwork in a museum. His gaze kept roaming back to her third eye. Did all of his kind have odd eye-related things? "Hi," he replied after a moment. ------------------------------------- Damali looked a little baffled when Anisia suddenly shouted her name, but when nothing seemed wrong, she turned her attention back to Tama. The female took a step back and looked him over, Hmm...no, I don't see what I've done to you. She said with a laugh. You're still the handsome male you've always been. The blue jay said with a smile.
Kiita laughed, "What Ciaran said. Sin is always easier to remember though." She said as she entered the room with the three eyed girl following behind her. "This is Anisia. Her food was the cinnamon bun." The protector looked around their feet for Damali, but didn't find her until her eyes traveled to the two banthi outside.
Anisia didn't notice as he studied her...because she was studying him. His ears, most of all. Why did the others have such neat things like tails, wings, and those...ears? And all she had was another eye. Moving her yellow bangs out of her eyes, she managed a smile to him, "Ciaran, right? I'm Ani." ------------------------------------- The blue jay stepped a little closer and leaned her forehead, careful of their horns, into his so they were face to face. Really now? Where would this get me...? Damali asked as she gave him an affectionate lick on the cheek with a warm smile.
"Its nice to meet you two also." Anisia said with a shy smile. She nodded to Ciaran's question, "Yeah. Comes in handy sometimes, but wings or a tail'd be better, I think." She admitted. She didn't feel her extra eye was something special, but it was different. "I like your ears though." The three-eyed girl said with a small giggle ------------------------------------- Tama's smile held more than warmth as he growled playfully, leaning in further towards her. That will get you anywhere you would like to go, he replied, sharp teeth lightly nibbling the side of her neck for a moment, before easing off to nuzzle the offended spot.
Inle couldn't help but notice Tama's growl, and she rolled her eyes as she saw what was going on between him and the blue jay banthi. "Gross, you guys," she said before moving around Kiita and closing the door on the both of them.
Oh yes, this was MUCH better! No snapping at him, no edgy attitude, and most importantly, no destroying his mother's flowers. He still hadn't heard the end of that; Inle didn't seem to believe that it wasn't his fault. "Thank you," he said with a touch of shyness that, for once, wasn't feigned. "They come in handy sometimes too. Our extras are good because they're useful, and I guess you could maybe fly with wings, but what good is a tail for?" He was truly curious, not having seen many people with extra appendages outside of his own family. ------------------------------------- The three-eyed girl gave a small shrug, "I dunno, but I like Yuki's tail!" She said with a smile. Then Anisia began to wonder if Ciaran ever met the dragon boy or not. "I think two eyes woulda been 'nuff to see with." She added.
Anisia seemed to pause for a moment, studying Ciaran again. "So uh, do ya hop like a bunny?" She asked. It wasn't meant to be rude...it was pure curiousity really. ------------------------------------- Yuki? Who was this Yuki? He had never heard of him before, let alone met him; just another indication that he needed to interact with his own kind. Visits to his home were all well and good, but they happened so rarely...he needed to meet others. The only problem was getting his mother to take him. Ciaran resolved then and there that he WOULD find a way to meet the others, with or without her.
Ciaran looked up at Anisia's question, his eyes filling with sadness at the recollection of the rabbits that had briefly shared his home. He pushed a lock of hair and a floppy ear out of his face, an almost nervous gesture, and shook his head. "No, I don't think so. I used to have some bunnies, and they hopped, but...they went away." His voice grew small and sad towards the end. Inle frowned down at him, stroking his hair comfortingly.

Meeting Ciaran - Continued
Anisia frowned a little. She didn't mean to make him sad. If anything, she thought he'd get mad at her for asking, "They went away?" She walked over till she was standing in front of him and gave him a small, short hug. Hugs always made things better. Kiita said so! "They come back soon!" Ani said with a nod. After pulling back, she gave him a smile, "Got anything to play?" She asked. ------------------------------------- Ciaran nodded, eyes downcast, although he looked up at her approach. He offered a tiny smile at the hug, although she had pulled away before he could hug her back. "I hope they do. I miss the bunnies." He sighed softly; thinking about his lost friends always made him a bit melancholy. His eyes met hers and he nodded at the question. "There's a play room for toys and stuff cause Mommy said she didn't want our crap lying around in case she tripped and fell and broke her neck and THEN we'd be in trouble." He grinned a bit--Inle hadn't meant for him to hear that part, but she clearly misjudged Ciaran's hearing.
Inle flushed a bit and gently tweaked his ear, causing him to wince and look up at her, rubbing the offended appendage a bit. "Why don't you go take your new friend into the playroom, alright?" Ciaran nodded, offering a hand to Anisia. ------------------------------------- A playroom sounded very, very appealing to the little three-eyed girl. All three of her brown eyes lit up. Anisia looked to Kiita, then to Ciaran and gave him a sweet smile as she reached out to hold his hand. "What kindsa toys do ya have?" She asked curiously as they walked. ------------------------------------- Ciaran's sleepy-eyed smile returned as he saw his new friend's happiness, all thoughts of the past forgotten. As he led her away from the adults, he replied, "All kinds! There's crayons 'n blocks 'n games--I don't know how to play a lot of the games," he admitted bashfully, "and there's balls and things and there's foamy noodle things. I'm not sure what they do, but my big brother used to hit me with them." They were pool toys, and Inle hadn't known that when she had gotten them, thinking that her kids would find SOME use for them. They certainly couldn't be used for their original purpose, as they had no pool. ------------------------------------- As Ciaran told her of what all the playroom consisted of, the toddler swung their linked hands cheerfully back-and-forth while they walked. Ani knew a few games! Like hide-and-seek and tag and just plain chasing the other siblings around the house to no end. She really didn't know what kinds of games he was talking about, having never played any board game or video game before. Anisia smiled, "I wanna see these noodle thingies you said!" She replied, since she really didn't know what he meant when he told her about them, "Almost there?" ------------------------------------- There was an extra bounce in Ciaran's step as he led Anisia to the playroom. He seemed to be more at ease now that they were away from the adults, and it showed. A turn of a corner and a short walk down another hall later brought them to the room's entrance. "We're here!" he said happily, letting go of Anisia's hand to toddle-run into it.
The room was neither small nor overly large, but just right for kids to play in. There was a bookcase and a pair of trunks along one wall, and a pile of plushies in a corner. Random toys dotted the floor. Light streamed in from a high, round window, and dustmotes danced in the sunbeams. The walls, though slate-white, were obviously colored on, lined with pictures and random doodles. Ciaran had situated himself in a corner opposite the plushies, and was digging through a pile of who-knows-what. Eventually he came up with a long, roundish foam noodle, lime green in color. He dashed back towards Anisia, holding it towards her. Although it was easily twice his height, it was very light. "This is a noodle thing." He looked vaguely proud of himself. ------------------------------------- Anisia became wide-eyed as she took in every single toy she could play with. So many! She would never have time to play with them all! Ally, her somewhat of a sister, would faint if she saw so many toys! Now if only she could decide where to start...
before she could choose, she giggled at the noodle thing. "It looks like a big crayon! Only without the pointy end!" She said. The noodle thing looked so tall, she wondered how he could hold it up. "Not heavy?" She asked him curiously. ------------------------------------- Since Inle had moved into the House, she had acquired a nasty habit of acquiring children, many against her will, some by methods unknown even to her. She had learned quickly that, since children kept appearing, it would be best to have something to occupy them with, seeing as she herself was horrible with them. Hence a separate room just for the kids to play in, and the myriad of toys.
Ciaran giggled, shifting the noodle to grasp it in both hands by its middle. "Nono, it's light!" He waved it up and down, the foam ends flapping like wings. "Here you try!" he said, holding it out to Anisia. ------------------------------------- The crayon-like noodle thing was big. Surely it would be too heavy for her to- Anisia blinked as she held it in the middle like Ciaran did. Hm. She began to wave it up and down like he did earlier, "Hey these're fun!" She said with a bright smile.
Then she looked to Ciaran. And a small smirk crossed her lips. Anisia suddenly bopped the rabbit boy in the head with it playfully, then ran the other way to the other side of the room giggling. Maybe she could build a fort with some blocks...

Quote: Dear Diary, Hm...not too much going on. Ani met Ciaran, my friend Inle's Sin boy. They seemed to get along well enough, and I thought it was cute how they held hands. Aww. hehe. Ani mentioned something about giant noodles. Uh...not sure what she meant by that. But she said she had fun and she wanted to see him again. And I found out Damali had a mate! I didn't know this! He was, in fact, Inle's banthi, Tama. Ani thought they were going to fight (we brought Damali with us) but they "reunited" I guess you could say. Uhm...thats all for now. The kids are calling for snacks. <3 Kiita

Playdate with Yukito
Kiita sat out on the lawn in front of the house, watching Anisia and Ally, the dragon girl, trying to teach little Eskis how to fly. She giggled as she watched Ani try to demonstrate how to flap the banthi's wings. She looked so silly.
"Like THIS, Esky!" Ani said, flailing both of her arms in attempt to show the pygmy banthi how to fly.
Ally hovered above the ground, little blue wings fluttering behind her. Her tail whipping slightly. "That s'not how you flap wings, Ani!" She corrected.
Poor Eskis just sat there watching the pair of them looking as if she were about to cry, she was that confused!
Anisia walked up to Eskis and pulled on the end of her wing, expanding it and moving it up and down. She could teach her! She could. She could. She could! ------------------------------------- Yukito walked along, his normal bag slung over his shoulder with a small smile on his face. He was going around today from place to place searching for needed herbs for his experiments with different sorts of potions. He had become convinced that there was a thing out there that there wasn't a potion for. Being smarter, breathing underwater, running faster, love potions, mind reading potions, you name it and he could if given the right ingredients make it. Or at least make a version of it.
He smiled some kneeling down to pick a certain sort of herb then lifted his head hearing voices, he looked back and forth after picking the herb and pushed up to his feet to walk towards the voices. The ber was tucked away into his bag as he went. He would see if he could get some directions from where he was to where was wanting to go from the people he was going towards. ------------------------------------- "NO, DON'T DO THA-!" Kiita yelled.
Too late. In attempt to get Eskis up in the air, Ally tried to pick her up while she herself, was still in the air. Being much bigger than the little girl was, Ally ended up dropping her a few feet above the ground.
Eskis landed with a yelp.
Rushing to the feline, Kiita looked her over before carrying the little pygmy inside. "Stay right here!" She told the two girls over her shoulder.
"That s'not how teach Esky to fly!" Ani said, her nose wrinkling a little. She knew it! Ally couldn't help! "Esky hur-"
Ally wasn't paying attention. She pointed toward the strange, unfamiliar boy, "Boy! There'saboy!" She said to Anisia, flying to get a closer look. ------------------------------------- Yukito took a step back as the one with wings came closer to him, "Ahh. Hello." He said looking passed her to the other girl and the feline. His eyes went wide then as if he had seen a ghost, or maybe a person he had feared never to see again, "Anisia?" He murmured.
His friend from when he was younger, could this possibly be her? He mentally kicked himself, of course it was her but how lucky was he to run across her like this? ------------------------------------- Ally looked insulted! "No! I'm Ally!" She said, giving Yukito a look. "Who're YOU?" She said curiously. Her blue eyes full of...suspicion? Interest? ((Not /that/ way. xD)) Her tail whipped impatiently.
At first, Anisia simply gave Ally a strange look. So what if there was a bo-...she paused. And of course, the first thing that caught her eye...the TAIL! Oh yes, the tail. The tail on the boy! But who was the boy? He looked familiar. Ani tilted her head slightly as she caught him staring, though she did nothing else. ------------------------------------- "Ahh... My appologies Ally. I meant your companion." He said flushing a little bit not having meant to insulted the winged girl, "Ahh. Me, sorry again. My name is Yukito." He introduced himself.
Anisia was looking over towards him but her stare was one that said that she didn't recognize him, then again he had grown since they had last seen each other. A shame really that she didn't recognize him and he felt his heart give a little ache. ------------------------------------- Ally breathed in, about to call Anisia over, but as she turned around, Anisia was suddenly by the dragon girl's side! She gave a small squeak of surprise. "Don't do that!" She said, not even hearing her approach them.
Anisia ignored her as she studied the strange, but not so strange, boy before her. All three eyes kept coming to the boy's tail. Finally, she asked, "Who're you?" Head slightly tilting up to have to look at him. ------------------------------------- Yukito looked at Anisia a little hurt then knelt down in front of her, "You really don't remember me? I guess it has been a while hasn't it?" He murmured then smiled, "My name is Yukito. We used to be good friends, I was even there when Chaco gave you over to your Protector." He told her, his tail swishing back and forth.
There was a hopeful look in his eyes, he really wanted for his friend to remember him. ------------------------------------- Ally gave the two of them a small smile and quietly made her way back to the house to tell Kiita Yukito was here...and to see if Eskis was alright. (She really didn''t mean to drop her on purpose!) Ani and Yukito probably should spend their time together without her distracting them, especially if Yukito was trying to get Ani to remember him.
Anisia''s face held a blank look for a few moments. Perhaps a few more moments than it should have taken, but a grin slowly appeared across her lips shortly afterward. "Ha! Iknewit!" She said as she went to hug her friend (and his tail!) as high as she could reach. "Yuki used t'be smaller!" ------------------------------------- Yukito gave a sound of happy relief when she remembered him and he hugged her tightly, "Yeah, grew a while back." He said, she knew him. Good he had been worried for a moment that she wouldn't remember him since it had been so long, "I have missed you Anisia, I was worried when you disapeared and I didn't hear from you." He murmured. ------------------------------------- "I don't like bein' small." Anisia replied to him as she pulled back from their hug. He was too tall for hugs. If -she- was taller, then hugs wouldn't be too hard to do! Only then did she not like being her size. Before, she really didn't think about it. "Kiita says that its her fault and say that it was a vacation thing."
She paused. Then took his hand into her own petite one and led him to their lawn. There, she sat down in the grass and tugged on his hand to get him to sit, "I missed you and Aard." She said, giving a small frown. She hadn't seen Aard since their little playdate before she left. ------------------------------------- Yukito followed after Anisia sitting when he was urged too and then gave her a smile, "I am glad that you are back though. Its nice to see you again." He said to her, his tail wagging happily. Then he tilted his head to the side, "Ahh... yes. Aard. He grew too and is almost as tall as me. He has neat looking wings though I'm not sure if he can fly yet." It had been a while since he had got to see the Tomato boy. ------------------------------------- "Me too!" The three-eyed girl agreed with a nod. "Aard grow too?" She asked. "Who else grow?" Was she the only one who didn't grow? Why was she falling behind? It was because she didn't spend enough time with her friends. That had to be the reason! Ani knew it. ------------------------------------- He tilted his head to the side thinking on it but didn't know if the other two that had grown if Anisia knew them or not, "The only other two that grew to the same size as me and Aard so far that I know of are Mignon and Kilah." He told her, "There were some others that have grown from babies to toddlers but aside from that I think thats it."
He was a little behind in some places having only been meeting with friends as of late instead of going to the mansion to randomly hang out. Something inside told him to be careful with who he hung out with. As if something bad was going to happen... ------------------------------------- Anisia tilted her head a little, making her streaked hair sway to one side, "Mig-who and Killer?" It was obvious she didn't know the two, for her brows furrowed a little. It seems she missed to much nowadays. There were more babies now? She would have to get Kiita to bring her to the mansion soon. More kids to play with!
After a moment, she shrugged it off. She'd probably meet whoever Yukito was talking about soon. "Whats in there?" She asked after a moment, pointing to the dragon boy's bag. ------------------------------------- "Mignon you should meet and Kilah... is Kilah. I don't know if she likes many people and she doesn't seem to like anyone that likes me. So if you want to make friends with her don't tell her you know or like me." He suggested then turned to look at what she was pointing at. His bag of miscalleneous stuffs.
He took it off his shoulder and set it down in front of them and opened it up, "See. Its full of books, potions, and herbs for the moment. I am collecting new herbs cause I don't have enough at home of the ones that I need to make some of the potions that I want to make." ------------------------------------- That s'not nice." Anisia said with a small frown. This Kilah person didn't sound like most of her playmates. She's never met anyone like this girl Yukito described. They don't sound like fun. If she doesn't like Yuki, would she be a fun person to play with at all?
Ani leaned in a little closer to get a better look at his items. "Potions? Like a witch makes?" She asked, always hearing stories about witches and cauldrons and potions. "What potions Yuki make? You a witch too?" She said after a moment, blinking a little. Don't witches have long noses and green skin with big bumps on them? Yukito didn't look like a witch.

Playdate with Yukito - Continued
That s'not nice." Anisia said with a small frown.
------------------------------------- "So far I mostly make healing potions, it works with my desire to help people, heal people." He told her with a bit of a smile, "I am slowly branching out though. Making potions that help different sorts of things, I found the list of ingredients for ones that shift your form if I could find the herbs would be neat to try some of those sometime. I found a love potion, I might make it but I don't think I would use it." He laughed at that.
"I hope that I am not a witch, I would rather be a healer." ------------------------------------- "So Yuki doctor." Anisia said, a smile forming on her lips, "Good. Yuki no look like a witch." She said with a nod. "Shift form? Whats that? Love potion too? Like make protector love you?" The three-eyed girl asked curiously. Kiita loved her, she could tell. Why would someone want to make a love potion? Everyone is loved by someone! ------------------------------------- "I try to be yes, well at least I am in training with a couple of doctors that have a Sin'aeis child of their own." He told her then laugh, "Ahh. Well not exactly sure what the love potion is for. I just know how to make it. As for the shifting forms its changing your shape, found one for how to switch bodies with someone, one how to change into the other sex, and one how to change into an animal. Rather odd how many things potions." ------------------------------------- "WOW!" Anisia exclaimed. Change her shape? She could get taller! Switch bodies with someone? "You change people to animals, Doc?" She asked. Apparently, she gave him a new nickname. Doc. It fit since he wanted to be a doctor person. And if Doc could change people into animals, she could be a dragon like Ally and Xor! Or a cat.
All these possibilities made her eyes shine. ------------------------------------- "Yeah, I just haven't got to be able to try one out on myself yet or got to have someone try one out. When I set one up I will show you how it works." He said with a little smile, "I think that having someone with me when I test it out could be a good idea. Just in case you know?" ------------------------------------- "I wanna try when you test!" Anisia volunteered right away. Curiousity, fascination, all sorts of feelings shone in all three of her eyes. The toddler stood up and beamed brightly at Yukito, "I want to be a bird!" She said as she spread her arms, "Esky and Ally and Xor can fly. I don't got wings like them or Aard."
She began to run in small circles with her 'wings' spread. How great it would be to fly! "Yes, flying fun." She said aloud, more to herself than the dragon boy. Ani then circled her way to the back of Yukito and put her arms around his neck and gave him a hug from behind, "Or a cat! Like a cheetah." She said with a smile, "I could run fast and have a tail...like you!" She said with a giggle. ------------------------------------- He tilted his head to the side then gave a little smile, "Maybe, let me try it out on myself to make sure that its safe and then I will let you try it out if it works. Is that a good deal?" He asked with a bit of a smile. Hi tail wagged back and forth.
He didn't mind sharing his potions but he didn't want to risk it until I am sure that it works. ------------------------------------- Anisia pulled away from Yukito and sat across from him again, legs crossing indian style. "Uh huh." She said, nodding with a smile. Ani could just picture herself with wings...or a tail...or herself as a cat. A three-eyed cat. That'd be neat!
"AAAANIIII!" Ally called from the house's back sliding door. "Kiita says time to come insiiiiide!" The blue and pink dragon girl poked her head out from the door. "C'mon!"
The shift of her mood was apparent on her face. A bright smile replaced with a disappointed frown, "Do I have to?" She asked. Anisia didn't want to leave Yukito. She hadn't seen him in a long time. They should have longer time. Yes, they should.
"Yes! Come ON!" Ally called, her tail whipping impatiently.
With a sad sigh, Anisia stood on her bare feet and went to give him another hug goodbye, "Sorry. ByeDoc!" She said as she pulled away and walked toward the house. She turned and gave him a little wave before going inside the house.

Quote: Dear Diary, Ally and Ani were trying to teach Eskis how to fly a few days ago, and then well, things got a little out of hand. Anisia really seemed like she knew what to do, despite her having no wings of her own. She really seemed a little bossy toward Ally. Anyway, Ally ended up dropping Eskis on the ground in the air. Eskis didn't land on her feet like I expected she would, being cat-like and all. No serious damage, thankfully. After I carried Eskis inside, Ally comes in and tells me theres a boy outside. I look and Yukito, Rayne's Sin, and Anisia are sitting outside in the grass talking. It seems he grew. How cute. Later she tells me he wants to be a doctor when he's older. I can see him as a doctor. Then Anisia went on about wanting to be a cat or dragon like Ally and Xor...it seemed to come out of nowhere, really. Its probably just a kid's imagination. <3 Kiita

Affinity/Aversion Quest! "Another child who has gone far too long without a quest. There seem to be a lot of these children today, do there not? Well, however long it may have been, she's probably ready for it! In order for her to gain it, however, she will need to be taken to an outdoor play during the daylight. Any and all costs associated with this will be paid for by Aileen Shiroko. " -------------------------------------
It wasn't often when Kiita attended plays. In fact, she's never been to an outdoor play before. This would certainly entertain the kids though, she thought with a small chuckle. She pulled her sunglasses down. The only part she didn't like about today...it was too sunny. She hoped there'd be shade.
"Are we there yet?" Ally asked as she hovered beside Kiita.
"Almost." Kiita replied.
Ally, the dragon girl, and Kaji and Maya had come to watch, saying they'd behave properly and pay attention. It'd be their first outdoor play too. Of course, they didn't want to miss out on this! Kiita felt she'd be leaving them out as well, so she brought them all.
Anisia gave Kaji a pat on the head as he perched on her shoulder. "I can't wait!" She said excitedly to Kiita, taking her protector's hand in her own.
After walking a little ways, they finally reached the open area. A wooden stage was set up with a very green forest background. The classic red curtains were tied to the sides of the wood pillars that held up the top of the stage. Some families of varies species had already taken their seats.
And to Kiita's disappointment, no shade. With a small sigh, she took Ally's and Ani's hands in each of her own and led the four kids to seats near the front.
"Welcome all!" The person in charge of the play spoke into the microphone after a handful of minutes waiting. "I'd like to thank you all for coming today. This school's Drama Club has worked very hard to put this together for you and your enjoyment. Please, I ask of you to try to keep it quiet while the students perform. Now, without further ado, Hansel and Gretal!"
Anisia sat with her feet beneath, despite being close to the front. She focused her full attention as the play began.
Once upon a time there dwelt on the outskirts of a large forest a poor woodcutter with his wife and two children; the boy was called Hansel and the girl Gretal. He had always little enough to live on, and once, when there was a great famine in the land, he couldn't even provide them with daily bread. One night, as he was tossing about in bed, full of cares and worry, he sighed and said to his wife: "What's to become of us? how are we to support our poor children, now that we have nothing more for ourselves?" "I'll tell you what, husband," answered the woman; "early to-morrow morning we'll take the children out into the thickest part of the wood; there we shall light a fire for them and give them each a piece of bread; then we'll go on to our work and leave them alone. They won't be able to find their way home, and we shall thus be rid of them." "No, wife," said her husband, "that I won't do; how could I find it in my heart to leave my children alone in the wood? The wild beasts would soon come and tear them to pieces." "Oh! you fool," said she, "then we must all four die of hunger, and you may just as well go and plane the boards for our coffins"; and she left him no peace till he consented. "But I can't help feeling sorry for the poor children," added the husband.
The thought of leaving her adopted kids made Kiita frown. She could never do it, no matter how pressured she was. She glanced to her right at Anisia...the kids. She'd never even consider it. Her attention went back to the play.
On the third morning after they had left their father's house they set about their wandering again, but only got deeper and deeper into the wood, and now they felt that if help did not come to them soon they must perish. At midday they saw a beautiful little snow-white bird sitting on a branch, which sang so sweetly that they stopped still and listened to it. And when its song was finished it flapped its wings and flew on in front of them. They followed it and came to a little house, on the roof of which it perched; and when they came quite near they saw that the cottage was made of gingerbread and roofed with cakes, while the window was made of transparent sugar. "Now we'll set to," said Hansel, "and have a regular blow-out. I'll eat a bit of the roof, and you, Gretal, can eat some of the window, which you'll find a sweet morsel." Hansel stretched up his hand and broke off a little bit of the roof to see what it was like, and Gretal went to the casement and began to nibble at it. There upon a shrill voice called out from the room inside:
"Nibble, nibble, little mouse, Who's nibbling my house?"
"MY NAME'S ALLY!" A little girl's voice called, peeking over the roof of the gingerbread house. Her blue tail whipped back and forth like it often did when she seemed impatient and not pleased. Who was talking to her? She couldn't see. The sun had fallen onto her face. She squinted her eyes.
A gasp fell throughout the crowd.
Kiita blinked. It took her a second too long to recognize two winged, barely a few inches tall, kids were poking at the fake stuffed bird in the tree. Kaji and Maya.
"This house don't taste good!" Another voice added. Anisia's head peeked around the gingerbread house. "Not real!" She said with a disappointed frown. It would have been so nice to eat something that looked this good. It was so big too! It look yummy.
"Yeah!" Ally chimed in, "No taste good! Hard." She added.
Kiita sat there, frozen in her seat.
"...Uhm, ladies and gentlemen, I'm afraid we're going to have to put our play on pause. Er...can the parents of these kids please come forward and claim them?" The person who spoke earlier asked, looking a little baffled. Obviously he wasn't expecting this.
Kiita finally stood and quietly made her way to the stage, "Eh heh. Uhm sorry about this I didn't..." She gave a fake smile to the speaker, then turned to the kids, "Ally, Ani, Kaji, Maya! Come down here!"
"I don't wanna." Ally replied immedietely, whining a little.
Kaji and Maya flew obediently to Kiita's shoulders. Okay, two down. Two to go...but where was the other one? "Ani?" She seemed to have disappeared.
"What?" Ani called back to Kiita.
Kiita groaned.
Two kids on the roof of the gingerbread house.
"HEY, HURRY UP, LADY! WE WANT TO SEE THE REST!" Someone in the crowd called.
"YEAH, C'MON! WE PAYED 500G FOR EACH OF US!" Someone else shouted.
A rent-a-cop, who was watching over the area to make sure nothing happened, hopped onto the stage. "Come down, kids!"
"NO!"
He climbed the gingerbread house. "Come'ere you!"
Ally and Anisia scooted away. The Sin girl slid down the side of the house while Ally simply glided down to the stage.
Then the house collapsed. Apparently this cop had too many donuts to eat. Standing a little wobbly, the cop shook his head then began to chase the two toddlers, "Comehere! Comehere!" He called.
Both Ally and Anisia began to run around the stage, Ally beginning to scream.
They didn't stop until Kiita came the other way and managed to snatch the running toddlers, "Calm down, girls!" She said, pulling them close to her.
Looking at the fallen props and gingerbread house on the stage, she wondered how much Aileen Shiroko would have to pay for that...

Kid Quest! "Well now! It's been quite a long time for this girl! She was one of the Sin'aeis to grace this world, and now she sees positively ready to grow! But before she can grow, she will need to gather these things together: A skirt, a musical instrument, a bouquet of flowers, a ring of flowers, and two different colored crystals. She must then, wearing the skirt, place the two crystals within the ring of flowers and sit in front of them playing the instrument for three minutes. How accurate the notes or how good the music sounds does not matter. " -------------------------------------
So much running around since Anisia got the notice of her quest! The Sin girl had to admit, she was tired of going back and forth to different stores and having to argue with the choices of her items with her protector.
The first item on the list was a skirt. Now Ani had many skirts stowed in her closet. Kiita had pointed that out to her, but the cinnamon bun girl felt a new one was in order! It was perfect. Red and gold. Her protector thought it might have been a little too dressy, but everything had to be perfect for tonight.
Forunately, there was an argeement with her next item. Kiita told Anisia about how she played the flute for four years. This silver instrument always appealed to her and she considered trying to learn at one point. So, without an arguement, Anisia gathered her first musical item, the flute.
That morning, she and Kiita ran around to different places in the forest Kiita and her other siblings new about. Once again, her job was to collect the most beautiful, fragile things found in nature: flowers. This was easy. Once obtained, Kiita sat down with her to help weave a small wreath of flowers to form a circle. Plus, she could always hang it up in her room later!
And the crystals. Kiita had a little trouble trying to find which store to go to for these sparkly stones, but they finally found one!
Finally, the night she could perform what she was asked to do! Kiita promised her silence and privacy in her own room, so with a last smile to her protector, she closed the door and slipped into her new skirt. Just for fun, she gave a little wave of her hips to see the skirt flow. Ani giggled quietly for a minute before gathering her items and sitting on the floor with her legs beneath her.
She placed the ring of flowers in front of her and carefully put the two crystals in the middle of it, the rose on the left and the white on the right. Unsure of what to do with the bouquet of various flowers Ani had put together, she simply set them to the right of her beside her legs. For a few moments, she listened to the quiet of the house. It made her nervous, especially since she had no knowledge of how to play the flute...except for what Kiita briefly explained to her. Which was how to hold it and which fingers went where. Everyone could hear what she was going to play...or at least, attempt to play.
Anisia took a breath and put the flute up to her lips like Kiita taught her and pressed her three left fingers and first right finger down to only make the flute squeak. With a small jump, she calmed down agan and tried the note F again. After finding herself relax, she tried pressing different buttons and keys to find the notes she played didn't exactly sound like a song, but she continued on like instructed
...despite having a few squeaks after every few notes.
After only a minute of trying, Ani was about ready to pull the flute away and give up. The sounds were hopeless. They didn't sound like notes to her ears at all. No matter how tempted, she carried on trying, flinching a little at the "notes" she was playing.

Meeting Lyrus
She JUST grew into a kid and already Anisia wanted to go and show everyone at the mansion. It couldn't have been at least an hour yet! Kiita gave a small chuckle to herself. Well, her baby was growing, and she couldn't prevent that. She leaned back on the couch in one of the living rooms, a small smile crossing her lips. "Just don't get lost!" The protector called to the cinnamon girl.
"I wooon't!" Ani called back over her shoulder, finally convincing Kiita to let her wander around Aylee's estate. It was big. Real big. But she was bigger now too! She looked left and right for any sign of someone. Anyone! Flitch, Yuki, Aard...anyone that might be here. She doubted anyone would be outside...it was pretty chilly. Fall definitely made it clear it had come.
Where to start looking for others? That was the only problem with the mansion. It was so big, you couldn't tell if someone else was around! Ani began to roam the floor's halls, hoping this place wasn't as deserted as it sounded. ------------------------------------- Banda's house was boring.
Granted, it was much nice than the House in that he didn't have to deal with SO many family members, but it was so...quiet. And a lot smaller. A whoooole lot smaller. That was to be expected, though, as Banda was the one living there, and didn't have much money to his name. It had it's perks and its downfalls. But only after living away from home for a bit did Lyrus realize just how much he depending on his 'brothers' for company.
Haha, screw them.
And off to the mansion it was! For the best of company was certainly not to be found with Jax, but with his own kind. And maybe, just maybe, Kilah or Mignon or Mae or someone would be around, and the day would get that much better.
No such luck. The yard was empty when he arrived so, after waiting for a short while, he decided to brave the indoors once more and started inside to look around. Out of habit, one hand flipped his knife open and shut, open and shut, over and over again while he 'searched'. "Oiiii, anyone around?" ------------------------------------- The unexpected call made Anisia give a small, startled jump. She turned around and looked, "I am!" She call back as she turned back toward where she came from and began to walk. The boy's voice didn't sound like anyone she could recognize. This made her curiousity heighten a little more as Ani continued her search for the unfamiliar boy. "Where are you?" ------------------------------------- Ahha, success! Someone was here after all! Even if he couldn't quite place who that someone was. Following the voice down the hall, he turned a corner and nearly ran into Anisia. "I'm right--Oh. Hi." Blinking, he took a small step back and offered a faint grin in greeting.
Remembering his manners, he held out a hand, but paused when he realized he was still holding the knife and, quickly flipping it closed, pocketed it instead. "Sorry about that. Don't think I've met you before. I'm Lyrus." Nope, he hadn't met this one before. He would have remembered--she had three eyes. It wasn't something you would forget. Not that it was a bad thing. ------------------------------------- "Oh sorr-" Anisia took a step back as well after running into -well almost running into- the one she was seeking out. She gave the boy a friendly smile, but it began to fade a little once she saw the knife. In truth, it disturbed her some. What had he been using it for? Why would he be keep a knife with him?
After a minute of pausing, she realized she was just staring and regained herself. "Oh, I'm Anisia. But people call me Ani." The cinnamon girl finally replied with another smile. "Its nice to meet you, Lyrus." Anisia added. ------------------------------------- "Nice to meet you, too," he replied with a nod. And mentally kicked himself. Why on earth was he being so nice? Was he really so starved for company that he would treat this new girl all happy cheery at first meeting!? Or maybe it had something to do with the fact that his two best friends in the world were girls, and the other girls he had met thus far had been pretty cool too.
Most of the guys were dumbasses.
However, his smile faded slightly when he caught the look she gave his knife. Ahh, this was a wussy one. Pity. Brushing it off, he withdrew his hand from his pocket and folded his arms across his chest, quirking a brow at cinnamon girl. "It's weird. Usually I've at least heard of a Sin when I meet them, but you'd a kid already and I've never heard of you before. Do you know Akilah or Mignon? Or Maelon?" Not that he and Mae had really discussed friendships or anything, but still. ------------------------------------- "We were traveling for a while." Anisia explained, "We just got back a few days ago." And she had no words to describe how great it felt to be back here with the rest of the Sin'aeis. She was back and meeting new people again.
And speaking of people, Ani could recall Yukito mentioning Kilah's and Mignon's names...though he said something like she should only really meet Mignon. "I've heard of them. And I think I've met Maelon before...it wasn't for too long though. They your friends? Are they here?" She asked with a smile. ------------------------------------- "That explains it." And it did. Who knew how long she had been gone. It was perfectly reasonable for him to..never have heard of her. Especially since she didn't seem to know any of his friend. "Well, welcome back, then." Or something. Lyrus had never been on a long trip before. Many of his family members had, including Banda, but he himself hadn't gone anywhere for more than a day at a time, and those trips were usually just nearby anyway.
Brightening up somewhat, he nodded. "Yeah, they're pretty cool. But they're not here today, I think. I'd actually come looking for them, but..." He shrugged, then added, "Not that it's not good to meet someone else, I guess. Who're your friends, if you don't know those three?" Granted, there were many other Sins that Lyrus wasn't as close too, or just hadn't seen in a while. Maybe she knew some of them. ------------------------------------- Anisia smiled, "Thanks. Its really good to be back. I don't like traveling...I'd rather stay in one place...at least for a while, anyway." Then she gave a small smirk, "Always good to get the extra attention from Kiita though. She usually feels so guilty when we get back from places...it takes her a while to get over it."
She began to walk a few steps and motioned for him to follow, "Lets walk. I haven't been around the whole mansion and wanna see the rest of it." She said before answering his next question.
"My friends are Yukito, Aard, Flitch, Ciaran...I don't know too many other Sin. That, I can blame on the traveling we do, which is why Kiita always feels bad." Anisia began to peek into a few doors they passed, wondering if theres anything interesting in this place. ------------------------------------- Lyrus graced her with a dry laugh, shrugging idly. "My guardians'll sometimes suck up when they first get back. Bring me a present or some crap like that. But they forget about me pretty quickly after that." Again he shrugged, slipping his hands into his pockets. "But now I live with my older 'brother' instead, so I don't need to worry about that anymore. And he's a complete suck up." He flashed a toothy grin.
With a nod, he started off at her side, walking 'boredly' to inspect the mansion. Actually, he was pretty curious as well. He hadn't seen most of it. The better partof his time here was sent outside. But she didn't have to know that. "I know Yukito," he piped up, grin returning. "But I haven't seen him in a while. He's pretty cool. He fixed my hand for me when this fox thing bit it. I know Aard too," he added thoughtfully, pausing. After a moment, he laughed softly, smirking. "He's a loser." ------------------------------------- Anisia also laughed a little, "Well, thats good that you live with him now. Kiita just can't seem to let go of her guilt for some reason. But I'm not complaining." She said with a grin. "Most of my siblings are younger than me...well, two of my older ones aren't even over a foot tall. Then I have another who's never around the house. Other than that, they're younger."
"I like Yukito. He's really nice. I talked to him a few weeks ago." She smiled. "Hey!" Ani said with a laugh, "Aard isn't a loser!" She really didn't think he was. He was one of her good friends, but she did find his comment funny. The girl wasn't going to force him to change his opinion...not like she would be able to anyway. "I've known him as long as I've known Yuki. How come you don't like him?" She asked curiously, looking over her shoulder at him then closing the door and continuing to walk. If he didn't like him, he must have a reason not to. ------------------------------------- "Most of mine are older... Lots older. I'm an uncle a few times over already." Looking thoughtful, he withdrew one hand from his pocket and idly counted out on his fingers how many nieces and nephews he had. But ran out of fingers and lost count. How many shorties was Isto on now? And didn't Jack have a new daughter or something? Grimacing faintly, he let his hand fall. "I think I'm technically the youngest, according to when Moo adopted each of us, but I have a few siblings who seem younger than me."
"I haven't seen Yuki since before I grew," he continued after a beat, then grinned. "Wonder how he'd take it. And he is too." Laughing, Lyrus picked up the pace and withdrew his other hand from his pocket, the knife again clasped in it. While he spoke, he flipped it open and closed, open and closed. Habit. "Aard's a complete wuss. I managed to scare the crap out of him while I was still a toddler just by telling him I'd put glass in peoples' food. And he stutters, and he's...Well, he's just a loser." ------------------------------------- "An uncle already? You can't even be a year old yet!" Anisia said. "Looking at how the oldest of the family is acting, I don't think I'll be having any nieces or nephews soon. And the other really small ones I mentioned earlier...their breeder of sorts, like Chaco, isn't around anymore. And their kind don't seem to pop up anymore either." She rambled. "So no more new additions unless Kiita decides to take in yet another sort of pet or kid. Which is really likely. I can't see WHY she would want to take in so many though."
A small frown crossed her lips momentarily before she made it go away. She didn't like how he kept calling Aard a loser, but she wouldn't say something that'd make them get into an arguement. After all, Lyrus seemed like someone she'd enjoy hanging out with...so far, anyway. And if Yukito liked him, he must be a good Sin. "I'd be scared too. Its not something people like to hear from others, you know." She wasn't now though. She had the feeling he wouldn't do that...unless he somehow magically appeared into their house one morning.
Anisia glanced at the knife for a moment, but it didn't really bother her anymore. If anything, it just made her wonder. "Why do you carry that knife around?" She finally asked. ------------------------------------- "My birthday's in February," he replied with a grin. "But they're much older than me, as I said. I mean, the big brother I live with is more like my guardian than my real one. He raised me, not Moo." Stupid Moo. She probably still thought she was a princess or some crap like that. "We have a huge family... It's really irritating. I'm glad I don't live with them anymore." Some of the time. Until the quiet set in.
If he caught her frown, he didn't comment. These were his opinions and, even if she disagreed, he wasn't going to change them. In his book, Aard was a complete loser. Of course, Ani seemed really nice... In that she wouldn't beat another with a baton for being jealous, for example. A different sort of friend than Mignon and Kilah were. He could see someone like her getting along with Aard...maybe. "I haven't really done that," he admitted slowly. "I only said it to scare. I've thought about it, but I wouldn't really feed anyone glass."
With the acception of maybe Jaxom. And Momoro. And Lex.
"Knife?" He blinked, then glanced to his hand, only then realizing he was actually holding the weapon. Shrugging, he went back to snapping it open and shut. "Habit, I guess. When I was younger, I really wanted some kind of weapon, 'cause all I had was these glass roses that I made. And then Kilah gave me a dagged, but it's really irritating to carry around. So when I got this knife for my child quest, I took to carrying it around instead. Never know when you might need one." ------------------------------------- "Mine's January 15th! I'll be sure to drop something by for you when it comes up!" She said with a cheery smile. "I'm not sure if I'm doing anything big for my birthday...honestly, Kiita has missed quite a few of the others' birthdays, so I'm not even sure she'll remember." Anisia could only give a small shrug, then let the topic of family drop.
"Thats good to hear." She said, with a nod. "I really don't think I could intentionally hurt someone. Unless I was like, blinded by anger or something. I don't get angry easily though." Another topic came to her head, "Speaking of scaring, are you trick-or-treating this Halloween?" She asked.
"That's true. I guess it could be handy in some cases." Like if you were camping or something. She wouldn't understand carrying it around in places like the mansion though. Her life was just full of flowers and good things. She never had to worry about having enemies or something. If Lyrus had enemies anyway...would Aard count as one? Probably.
"You used to make glass roses? They must be beautiful!" Ani's brown eyes seemed to shine a little more, "Thats what most of my quests had to do with. Flowers. I'd like to see one of your roses sometime!"

Meeting Lyrus - Continued
"February 17th. You're older than me," he laughed, snapping his knife closed. Replacing it in his pocket, he continued, "I'll be sure to get you something, too. I.. don't know if I'm gonna do anything. It's still a while away, and I guess it depends on stuff closer to then. Moo had a big party for my sister when she turned one, but I don't live with Moo anymore, and she doesn't remember me, so I doubt that'll happen. Maybe Banda'll surprise me, though," he finished, looking hopeful. One could never know.
"You and Kilah might not get along so well." He flashed a toothy grin, chuckling. "Not that she just lashes out without cause, but she'll beat the snot out of people if they bug her. At all. Or acts like she will." For a moment he paused, then, rolling his eyes, he coninued, "She's all talk, for the most part, but very believeable. And then it's usually me and Mignon who actually fight back." Jaxom's broken wrist, for example.
"I think I am," he answered with a nod. "But I don't know what I'm gonna go as yet. We went to the costume store, but I didn't like anything there, so me an' Banda are going to make my costume. I just haven't decided what to do yet. What about you?"
And then the roses. Lyrus' pride and joy. His grin softened to a proud smile, and he nodded, 'designing' one with his hands while he described it. "I still make them, and they're getting better. At first they were just shards or glass hooked together in a sort of vague flower...but now I'm getting better at actually shaping the glass an' such, and they're really nice. See, I have these glass discs, and I break them and reshape the shards into petals , and usually just hook some of the thinner pieces back together for the stem and... I'd be happy to show you!" Finally, someone appreciated them! ------------------------------------- "Not by much though! Just about a month. And I just grew today...how long have you been a kid for?" Anisia asked with a small smile on her face. "And don't worry! If Banda doesn't, I will!" She said with a laugh. "It'll have lots of confetti and sweets! Like cookies! I hope you like cookies. I think my friend Flitch is crazy for not liking them!" She added randomly. "Oh, and what would you like for your birthday? I don't want to get you something you wouldn't like..."
"Well, maybe we would? I don't know. I'll be sure not to er...bother...Kilah if I ever do meet her. Yukito told me how I'd probably like Mignon though." This Kilah person didn't seem like someone she was all too excited to meet. She wasn't sure how she could handle the situation...nobody's ever really been mean to her before.
"Oh definitely! I love anything sweet. And the more candy, the better!" Anisia said with a chuckle. "I've decided to go as a genie. Nothing terribly crazy or original, but I'm sure I'm going to have fun." She said with a nod.
"Oh wow. They sound so pretty. I can't wait to see them!" Flowers were such beautiful things to her...which is why she kept all of hers from her previous quests. Ani gave Lyrus a smile. She could see the proudness in his own.
Then the next door caught her eye. For some reason, she felt the need to open it and see what was inside. She walked toward it and peeked inside to find
...the Jungle Plant Room. ------------------------------------- "Just today?" He blinked, then quirked a brow. "Really? I guess it's been about a month or so since I grew. Wish I'd known you sooner," he added after a moment. "I always thought I was broken 'cause Kilah and Mignon grew so long before me. Would've been nice to know I wasn't the only slow grower."
Briefly he fell silent, looking thoughtful, then blinked and grinned, snapping back to the discussion. "Thanks a lot! And yeah, I do like cookies. Have you ever had cookie cake? It's much better than regular cake." Even if Banda didn't agree. But Banda was weird. "Um... I dunno. I guess I'd like just about anything. I like glass stuff, though. And knives." And shinies in general. Lovely fancy decorative expensive things...mmm.... Anyway. "What would you like for yours?"
And another subject change. "I only heard about Halloween a few days back, so I still don't really get the whole thing," he admitted, probably something he wouldn't even have told Kilah. She was likely to make fun of him for it. Not that he would have minded much--it was Kilah, after all. "There's candy involved?" That definitely made it worth it! "I bet you'll make a good genie. Me an' Banda are gonna try and come up with a good costume this evening. He had to work today."
Without thought he followed her to to the door and, on a whim, pushed it open the rest of the way and stepped inside. And paused. What the heck was this place? All these weird plants...inside? He grinned. "Want to explore?" ------------------------------------- "Isn't that weird? I'm older but growing slower." Anisia gave a little more thought about the aging process. "I wish I would've met you sooner too." She could understand him thinking he was broken. She had thought the same. "I used to think that too. Aard and I are the same age, and he grew way before me. I always felt a little left behind since most of my friends were taller and I guess you could say, 'older.'"
"No problem! It'd be fun. And I don't think I've tried a cookie cake before. I'll have to get Kiita to buy one...it sounds good!" Ani said with a laugh. "I like things every girl would like." She replied, then paused. She wasn't sure if Akilah and Mignon were girly like her...and Lyrus only seemed to talk about them...did he know what girly things she was talking about? "Uhm. Stuffed animals, real animals, flowers, jewelery, anything really." The girl added with a smile.
Anisia entered after the lamb boy and looked over his shoulder to look at the...whatever room this was. It looked like some sort of garden...a very twisted oen at that. "Sure!" She said, returning his grin. "You lead!" She added. ------------------------------------- "Chaco told me everyone ages at their own pace," Lyrus replied reassuringly. "But I also knew you had to have another quest before you'd get the one that made you grow. And I got that quest, but, as far as could tell, nothing happened when I finished it. So I started thinking I had screwed up and broken myself when my child quest never came. But then I grew." And damn, had that been a relief. "I felt the same way. I've known Kilah and Mignon since we were babies, and they've always grown way before me.. It was just upsetting."
"You have to try cookie cake," he exclaimed, suddenly brightening. "It's -great-! We haven't gotten any for a while, though. Acia's birthday was the last time--she's my sister. I'll have to bug Banda about it." He paused. Things every girl would like. Yes, he was very glad Ani had specified. Otherwise he would've gotten her a baton or dagger or something. Or maybe jewelry. So he was close. "Good! I'm sure I'll find something you'll like."
'You lead.' Lyrus positively beamed. That was one of the worst things about being best friends with Kilah--She was mafia leader, he was second in command. And then at home, Jaxom was leader, Lyrus was....er...enemy? In any case, it was good for him to have a chance every so often. Nodding his agreement, he started into the room, not bothered with most of the plants, but pausing every so often as a particularly strange one caught his eye. "I've never seen half of these before." ------------------------------------- "Oh, I didn't know how many quests you had to have before a growing quest." This was new information to Anisia. Was it the same number each time? Probably not. Guess she'd just have to find out when they came along. She didn't expect getting another quest anytime soon though, since she just finished one a few hours ago. Oh well.
"Thats what kind of cake I'll have to get you for your birthday then!" Ani decided, smiling to him. "Maybe me and Kiita can make you one, if we can get a recipe." Then again, Kiita wasn't the best cook out there...hm. Maybe it'd be better if they just bought one.
This girl was a follower. She couldn't picture herself leading in most cases. It was always easier just to go along with someone. As she walked alongside Lyrus, her eyes wandered about. Some of the plants...disturbed her a little. "I've never seen a lot of these plants before...they're really...wild." Ani commented, "Do you think anything else is in here?" Meaning some sort of rabid animal or something. ------------------------------------- He shrugged. "I only knew 'cause of Mignon and Kilah. I don't know for any older yet." Though he had no doubt that Kilah and Mignon would grow before him. He didn't mind so much anymore, though. There were lots of people his age and younger, and now he knew he wasn't broken, -and- had friends who would be growing as slowly as he did. Life was good.
"We have to have it sometime before then, though," he decided with a nod. "Because you don't even know if you like it. But I'm sure you will. Everyone likes cookie cake." Except for Banda, as forementioned. But, also as before, Banda was weird. So he didn't count.
This was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. "Some of them are pretty strange.... I dunno. It seems like the kind of place where an animal or something would live, but at the same time it doesn't...'cause it's inside." Lyrus was used to big fancy mansions--Moo had one. But jungles inside of said mansions were just unusual.
Catching a movement out of the corner of his eye, he quickly turned towards it, but frowned when all he found was a new plant--a strange variation of a venus flytrap, though he didn't know it. One of the traps had closed over something. ....He poked at it. "This one moved." ------------------------------------- "I like any deserts! Cake or cookies, as long as its sweet." Anisia said with a small laugh. Her and her sweet tooth. Someone could probably buy their way into her heart with just chocolate alone. "And if you like it that much, it must be good!" She added with a nod. "Whenever you get your hands on another one, just gimme a call."
"I didn't expect to find a garden...if you could call it that...inside a mansion. They have one outside already." It was becoming clear she seemed a little nervous. And it only heightened when Lyrus pointed out one of the plants moved. "W-what? It moved?!" Ani began to play with her fingers uncertainly. ------------------------------------- "Will do," he promised, grinning. However, his attention quickly returned to the little plant. He eyed the closed trap, then glanced to a nearby open one, marveling at the red center. And, on a whim, he poked it, snatching his hand back as the trap glided closed. "Did you see that!? The plant tried to bite me!"
Coolest. Thing. Ever.
Still marveling at the little plant, he resumed, "Yeah, it doesn't make much sense. How do the plants grow in here?" He wasn't really expecting a reply. It was certainly a strange place... Pulling his attention from the plant, he gestured for her to follow and set off exploring once more. There must be some other cool plants in here somwhere! Bigger ones.. The fly trap was neat, but too small to hold his attention for long. ------------------------------------- "Whoa! Thats crazy!" Anisia said. Gaia had weird things, but she's never seen a plant move before! Let alone try to eat someone's finger! Though she had to admit, the trap did catch her interest. "...Its pretty cool though." She finally admitted after a pause. 'Cause it was. But she wasn't gonna touch it! No way!
"You don't think all the plants in here can move, do you?" She asked, as she passed a pile of vines while following the lamb boy. "Do you think there are bigger ones like that one you were poking earlier?" That wouldn't be good.
...
Who would keep a giant, kid-eating plant in their house anyway?! ------------------------------------- "I dunno." He shrugged and, without really thinking, withdrew his knife from his pocket, casually flipping it open and shut. "I definitely saw that one move, but it just closed, I think. I doubt the plants themself can, like...more from place to place or anything." Of course, the trees in the Forest could. Lyrus wasn't allowed to go into the forest. Even Loony!Moo had warned him against it, and he took that seriously. Moo didn't remember much these days unless it was absolutely imperitive.
But, bigger ones... "There might be bigger ones. The little one tried to bite me.. It probably eats bugs or something. I don't think a bigger one could find anything to eat around here..." What would a bigger one eat, at that? He grimaced. Best not to think about that right now. ------------------------------------- "Lets hope they can't really move from place to place." Anisia said, more to herself than to Lyrus. She felt funny in this place. She was probably being paranoid though...thinking she was being stalked. By what, a leaf? That's just silly. Though in place like this...she honestly wouldn't be too surprised.
"I don't think there'd be many bugs in here...maybe a few. Or maybe one of the gardeners comes in here and just...lets a bucket of bugs loose or something." The idea sounded gross to her. Picking up bugs from outside and bringing a thing full of them inside.
Anisia stopped to take a look at some pink flowers that seemed to quiver every now and then in unison. ------------------------------------- Why would there be bugs? They were in a garden, after all... Only they weren't, Lyrus realized, snapping back to reality. They were inside of a building. Glancing around, Lyrus shot a glare to a bunch of purple flowers hanging from a vine, from which a sickly sweet smell issued. Blasted things mussing his thoughts. Brushing aside the vine, he continued through the plants, but paused as another flower caught his eye.
It was easily the most beautiful blossom he had ever seen: a deep, blood red shade, something of a large orchid, laced with dewdrops... Or what looked like dewdrops. Lyrus didn't bother to remember he was still inside and they couldn't be. The flower rose on a single thin stem from the floor, where a circle of short, velvety looking grass surrounded it, only adding to the flower's grace.
Lyrus wanted that flower.
Not for himself, of course... He could give to it Ani or something. Yeah, that'd work. Without bothering to think it through, he stepped over and onto the circle of grass, bending to reach for the flower. However, a slight shift in the floor made him pause, and he frowned, straightening up and taking a small step back. Or tried to. His feet were stuck fast to the 'grass'.
"Oh hell n--"
The trap fell shut. ------------------------------------- How cute they were, the little quivering pink flowers. Ani began to wonder why there weren't plants like these outside of the room. She was beginning to feel tempted into picking one of them, but she decided otherwise and let her attention wander elsewhere. She glanced around to make sure she wasn't being separated from her newfound friend, only...she didn't see him.
"Lyr-?"
'Oh hell n-'
It took a minute too long for Anisia to realize what just happened. "LYRUUS!" She cried, running forward toward the giant plant that just ate her friend. "Nononono!!" She didn't know what to do! She began to panic. Mygodaplantateherfriendhe'sgonnadie!
Looking around, she spotted a stray branch that looked like she could lift. Rushing toward it, she picked it up and carried it to the giant plant again. Then she began to wack it, "Let.Go.Of.HIM!" She shouted at it. After giving it a few good wacks, she began to kick the base of it.
Unfortunately, she didn't know if she was hurting Lyrus in the process of beating it up. ------------------------------------- Lyrus panicked. There was no way in hell that he was going to sit around and let this plant eat him! However, he quickly realized that squirming did no good--with the plant as it was, it just meant more stick-grass latching onto him, and put him in a very uncomfortable position inside of the plant. And it was getting tighter. He screamed.
But afterwards, he forced himself to calm down somewhat. He wasn't going to get out if he kept freaking like that. What to do, what to do, what to--OW. Someone was hitting him! And then he heard Ani, and his anger faded. He could deal with a few bruises if it meant getting out of here.
Only it didn't seem to be helping. Indeed, the plant was retaliating in its own way--tightening all the more in an effort to keep its meal. This wasn't going to work. It was tight, and dark, and close, and--DAMMIT, Lyrus did NOT like this one bit. Renewing his squirms only earned him a knick on the wrist from his knife, which he had managed to keep hold of. He yelped, cursed, blinked...and shifted his hand as well as he could to cut a short tear through the plant, shoving the knife through afterwards, along with as much of his hand as he could fit. It was a start, anyway.
Deep breath, and shout: "ANI, take the knife!"

Meeting Lyrus - Continued
She was panicking. Badly. To the point of tears. He can't die! He can't die! She kept thinking fiercely to herself. She wouldn't let this overgrown weed take her friend away! Ani tried her hardest to keep from sobbing and crying. She was so useless at a time like this. She needed to calm down and think. She couldn't concentrate if she was crying.
She could run and get someone. But it might be too late by the time she got back. He needs air and soon. Her beating only seemed to make it worse. Oh god, what is she supposed to DO?!
Anisia snapped to attention as soon as she heard him. She rushed over and grabbed the knife at its handle, "I'll get you out!" She called to him. She was shaking from fear though. It was hard for her.
How to use the knife? Cut a line down and let him slip through it? Keep stabbing the stupid thing until it lets loose? But she might hurt him. She couldn't bare it if she did that. Only she'd feel worse if he died.
Without another thought, Ani put the blade halfway into the plant and decided to slice down. Only halfway though, hopefully to avoid cutting Lyrus. ------------------------------------- Had she heard him!? Yes! She had taken the knife, haha! And---wait. Wait.
.....He couldn't breathe. He couldn't BREATHE. Tugging his hand back in, Lyrus shifted as best he could to shove the plant away. But it didn't work. Again he screamed, only afterwards realizing that was about the stupidest thing he could do given the situation. The plant tightened.
He couldn't breathe. Hecouldn'tbreathehecouldn'tbreathehecouldn'tbreathehecouldn'tbreathehecouldn't-- LIGHT!
Lyrus almost cried in relief as a long cut appeared in the plant near his side. There was light now, and air...even if the plant was to tight for him to actually breathe right. But that was hope! Wrenching one arm free, he shoved it through the gap to hold it open, hand groping at the bottom of the cut as he tried to tear it further. Words escaped him from then on. Ani would have to figure out the rest on her own. ------------------------------------- HIS ARM! Thank the heavens, his ARM! Anisia never thought she would ever be happier to see it! After cutting through the plant vertically, the cinnamon girl grabbed his hand with her free one to make sure he wouldn't get sucked back into it. He was going to get out if it was the last thing she did!
Then she began to cut the knife horizontally to make a big cross on that side of the plant. "If I cut you I'm sorry!" She apologized to him as she finished off. Ani dropped the knife and used both hands to cling to the one that was outside the plant. "Push away from the plant with your feet and toward the hole if you can!" She said to him. As her heart raced, she began to pull him away from the giant trap. ------------------------------------- Lyrus wasn't exactly thinking straight. He felt all light headed, mind wandering around on things that really weren't all that important. Such as the fact that his mouth was wide open while he strived for air. But he didn't care about air anymore. Who needed air? No, he was busy chastising himself for looking like a fish out of water. Not that anyone could see him.
And then someone grabbed his hand, and he blinked, focusing on that person. Oh, it was Ani! He had almost forgotten about her. Nonetheless, his hand was like a vice on hers, and, though his mind was slow to analyze her orders, eventually they clicked and he reacted, using both legs and his other arm to shove himself free of the plant.
There was one agonizing moment where the plant held, but just as quickly it tore open, and Lyrus literally fell free, collapsing on the floor as his legs gave way beneath him. Air swept back to his lungs, and Lyrus breathed a sigh of relief, head spinning both from the narrow escape and the return of oxygen. A moment passed before Lyrus realized his eyes were close and opened them, searching briefly before locking his gaze on Ani. He grinned. ------------------------------------- Anisia fell back onto the floor with a small thud as the plant suddenly tore open and finally Lyrus came falling out of it. Her first thought was the little pain she had where she fell, but then she saw him.
"OHMYGOD,LYRUUUS!"
She sat up and quickly hugged him tightly as if he might get eaten again. "I thought you were going to die I was so scared I might have cut you I didn't think you were going to get out I didn't know what to do..." A jumble of words came out of her mouth. "Are you okay are you hurt did I cut you with the knife?" She asked, again the words just pouring out.
That was a really scary experience for her. Realizing she was holding onto him a little too tightly she loosened and eventually let go, wiping away the few, unnoticed tears that had made their way down her cheek. ------------------------------------- Lyrus automatically returned the embrace, but most of her words evaded him, mind wandering over what had just happened as if it hadn't quite understood the first time. Suddenly, he tensed. He had almost gotten eaten. Shock set it, and Lyrus realized he was shaking and near tears himself. He could feel a faint sting near his waist, and his wrist was still bleeding from where he had cut it earlier, but he didn't much care. He'd had worse.
A few deep breaths later, Lyrus straightened up and nodded slightly, releasing his deathgrip on the girl and gracing her with a warm, rather apologetic smile, voice shakey at best. "I'm alright, yeah, uh-" Pausing, he cleared his thought, then resumed somewhat more confidently, "Sorry about...that. And thanks. A lot." Somewhat awkward, but Lyrus wasn't used to thanking people for, well, anything. Let alone people who he had just met that day. ------------------------------------- Anisia opened her mouth to reply, about to say 'Its no problem!' like she usually would in a normal conversation. But...that would probably be lying. Because it sort of had been a problem. She didn't need to say that now though. "Your welcome." She finally said, swallowing a little.
She returned his smile with her own, then stood up and held out her hand so she could help him to his feet. "Lets get out of here." She said with a last look at the plant that almost ate Lyrus. After this little event, she didn't feel the need to explore any further than they did. ------------------------------------- Taking her head, he climbed to his feet, swaying slightly before his legs decided to hold. He nodded his agreement and, without releasing her hand, picked up his knife with his free one and started for the door at her side. Don't look back, don't look bad; Lyrus thought he might throw up if he looked back at what remained of the giant trap. Best not to think about that just yet.
Goddamnwherewasthatbloodydoorhewassickofplants.
And there it was. Once they were out of the room, Lyrus closed the door behind them and slumped back against it, sighing heavily. "Well, that was.. exciting." ------------------------------------- Anisia gave him a weak smile as he held her hand and lead her outside of the room. She hoped they never came across this room again...without an experienced lion tamer and a big whip or something. That was a crazy way of getting to know someone. She certainly never thought that would happen!
"I don't know about you, but I don't think I'm going to be mentioning that to Kiita any time soon." Ani replied, leaning back against the door as well. "Who would keep something like that in their house anyway?!" She thought aloud and whether she noticed it or not, her tone of voice sounded a little angered. Lyrus could have died.
The girl paused, then looked toward his way, "How did you get trapped by it anyway?" She asked curiously. ------------------------------------- "Banda'll ask." Lyrus didn't exactly look as if nothing had happened. Not only were there odd splotches of the velvety plant still stuck to his shirt here and there, but there was also a long tear across his shirt, as well as a shallow scrape beneath it. It wasn't enough to bother him unduly, but there would be no hiding it from his 'guardian'.
Moo would probably keep a plant like that in her house, Lyrus mused. He had always thought Aylee was a loon. Apparently she was worse than he thought if she was sinking to Moo's level. Pleased with her 'outburst', Lyrus settled down to let her rant, absently wiping blood off his wrist, then blinked and glanced back to her when the expected tirade vanished in favor of her question. Apparently he wasn't used to 'nice' girls.
He grimaced. Suddenly feeling foolish, he shrugged and returned his attention to the cut, muttering his reply just loud enough for her to hear. "There was a really nice flower. It was a trick, I guess. A lure. I went to pick it and the plant got me." ------------------------------------- "Will you get into trouble?" She asked, lowering to sit on the floor and beginning to play with her skirt. If Kiita finds out, she surely wouldn't be able to go places by herself without supervision...more specific, Kiita's supervision. That wouldn't be fun.
For the first time, Anisia spotted the blood while he was wiping his wrist. All three of her eyes going wide, she automatically asked, "Did I do that?" Even without his answer, a feeling of guilt crept in.
A flower? They did all that...a flower? Ani caught herself before she almost gave him a strange look. She probably would have done the same if she saw one she really liked. Instead of giving him the look, she smiled amusedly, "So tell me about the really nice flower that we had to cut up a plant for." She said with a small chuckle. ------------------------------------- "Nah." Lyrus actually laughed, shaking his head. "Banda'll get worried, be glad that I'm not dead, and shower me in presents because he'll blame all this on himself somehow. Stuff like this happens to me pretty often, anyway." He shrugged, the paused. "Well...I've never been attacked by a plant before, but you know what I mean. Fights and rescues and crud." It did happen pretty often, now that he thought about it. Never this drastic, of course.
"Hmm? Oh, no." Smiling reassuringly, he shook his head, letting his hand fall. "That was me. When I was still in the flower. Good thing, too, or I wouldn't have remembered my knife." He didn't even want to begin to think what might have happened in that situation.
Lyrus flushed. It wasn't his fault he...hadn't been paying attention! Oh come on, who would expect a giant plant to pop up and try to eat them? Really? "It was just a nice flower," he muttered evasively. He didn't much feel like going into detail and sounding even stupider. ------------------------------------- "This is the first time something's happened like this to me." Anisia said, trying to recall if something...but failing. Yes, this really was her first time. And it scared her to death. "You must have a really exciting life then." Her life was full of siblings and deserts. She found this whole experience...well, something similar to interesting.
She could only sigh with relief when she was told she didn't cut him. "Oh, good...well, I'm not saying cutting yourself was good...well you know what I mean." She said.
Ani couldn't wipe the amused grin off her face and laugh a little. "Well, at least you have another idea for your next glass flower? Unless you only do roses..." She said, turning her head again to give him another smile. ------------------------------------- "Eh, not really." He shrugged, chuckling softly and relaxing a bit. "I just have a good friend with a tendancy to get in trouble, and an older brother who I..er...fight with a lot. Ends up with some pretty strange situations. But day to day life isn't all that interesting." It was really dull, actually. Especially nowadays. "I know what you mean," he assured her, grinning.
A new glass flower... Huh, he hadn't thought of that. "I never done anything but roses," he admitted slowly, then smiled. "It'd be a challenge. Especially to do that flower. But I'm gonna make it." He grinned. "Something to remember today by." ------------------------------------- Anisia wasn't going to point out that the flower he was going to make was something that would remind him of the day he almost got eaten...but if he was so distracted by it, it must have been a very pretty flower. "Something to remember the day we met!" She added with a smile. "I'm sure it'll turn out nicely, even though I didn't get to see it. And when you finish it, I can finally see this 'really nice flower.'"
The girl stood again and began to stretch her arms above her head a little. "So. Do you want to explore the mansion some more or are you going to call it a day?" She asked. If she were in his condition, she'd probably want to call it quits, but she didn't want to make it seem like she didn't want to spend any more time with him. ------------------------------------- True, it would remind him that he had almost gotten eaten. But it was a pretty cool adventure...thing, when you thought about it. He hadn't died, after all, so it was alright, and would make for good stories later on. He didn't intend to keep the flower after he made it, anyway. He grinned. "I think you'll like it. I'll try to color it, too, so it'll be more realistic." Colored glass was always fun.
"Eh..." He hesitated. On one side, he was tired, and he REALLY wanted a shower. The bites and pieces of plant stuck to his clothes were a bit unnerving after all that. However, at the same time, he was having fun just talking with her, and didn't want to offend her or anything by heading home. They could always meet up again, he reasoned. Sooner or later. After he finished the flower. "I think I'm going to head home, actually... Banda'll be getting back soon, and I want to start on that flower before I forget what it looks like."
And then, you know, there was the risk that another room might hold some similar threat. No more giant plants for today, pleezkthanx. ------------------------------------- "Show me as soooon as you get done!" Anisia said brightly, trying to lighten the mood a little after their little encounter. "Then you'll have to let me try some of that cookie cake!" She added with a smile.
"Sounds good." She completely understood why he wanted to head home. Who would want to walk through another door to only get almost-eaten again? Gods only know what other types of things Aylee would be keeping in this mansion of hers.
Unsure of how to say goodbye, she stood there for a minute silently. "So uhm, I guess I'll see you later." Ani said, then gave him a quick hug before beginning to walk back to the living room where Kiita would be waiting. ------------------------------------- Laughing, he nodded his agreement. "Will do! And I'll bring cookie cake with it." A whole big thank you cookie cake. He'd make Banda go buy it as soon as he finished the flower! Neither of them could cook very well.
Lost in his planning, it wasn't until she hugged him that he snapped back to the present, quirking a brow as she started away. For a moment he remained where he stood, then, smiling awkward, he murmured a 'See you' of his own and started away, off for home again.

Reading with Flitch
Yay! Ani was coming over! Flitch was happy. But, he was always happy at the thought of having his friends come over. No matter! Ani was coming over!
Happily the blue-haired Sin' bounced around the house, ignoring his brother Kuzunohara's complaints as to his hyperness. Bah. Kuzu was always hyper himself. Plus, Flitch was busy making sure that everything was just right. Anvion had said that she might take them to the playground if Ani wanted to go. What fun!
But before that, he had built a cool fort out of the couch cushions, his sheets from his bed, and a few books to hold it in place. He was rather proud of his work, since he had made it all himself. Hopefully Ani would want to play something involving his fort. Like pirates! He loved playing pirates. Just... not the really mean pirates. But the fun pirates always going on neat adventures were cool. He was gonna be a cool pirate like that someday, or so he hoped.
Now that the fort was finished and Flitch had finished his seventh inspection of the house to make sure that everything was perfect (which it was, thankfully), Flitch wandered into the kitchen, plopping down into the chair so that he could stare out over the front lawn. Ani was going to be over soon, and he wanted to be able to see her coming. He was so excited... ------------------------------------- "I'll be over to pick you up soon!" Kiita said to the newly grown Anisia, giving her a kiss on the cheek and a wave goodbye.
It was obvious. Ani was in a good mood. A really good mood. She gave her protector a cheery smile and waved back, "Bye!" Then she turned around and walked up to Anvion's door and knocked on the door. She took a small step back and waited patiently for someone to answer.
Their last playdate had ended unexpectedly. She hoped they would get to play something this time. Something fun. But Flitch was just a fun kid to be around, so that shouldn't be too hard. ------------------------------------- Ani was heeeeeeeeere!
Darting off the chair so fast that he almost tipped it over, Flitch shot to the door, opening it and grinning broadly. "Aniii! Woah..." he paused, realizing that she was now much taller than he was. He stared at her in momentary awe, then grinned excitedly. "You got bigger! Neat! How'd you do that?"
He opened the door wider, so that she could come in. "Come in!" Now he was even more excited than before, if such a thing were possible. Ani looked so cool and pretty now! It was awesome. Really awesome. ------------------------------------- "I played the flute!" Anisia answered with a laugh, entering Flitch's house, "How've you been? Do anything neat while I was gone? Read any good books?" She asked with a smile. "Oh! And do you still not like cookies?" The cinnamon girl added. She felt like she hadn't talked to him in so long, she wanted to know everything that has changed and what hasn't! ------------------------------------- "Really? Wow!" Flitch beamed. "So you must have played a magic flute! I read a book once with a magic flute in it. It was pretty neat."
At the mention of cookies, he wrinkled his nose and made a face. "Eeew, cookies. They're so sugary it's gross. Oh, and I read a bunch of cool books! Anvion has so many I think I'll never run out. She's read them all, though. I don't know how she managed to read so many... You wanna see all the books? We have to be kinda quiet if I show you, though. Anvion's working right now." ------------------------------------- "Oh, I'm not sure if it was magic. If it was, I don't see how it could make me grow, because I played it really bad. I kept making it squeak and it didn't sound like a song at all." Anisia said with a small wince. Well, she grew. And thats all that mattered right now!
"I can't believe you don't like cookies still! They're so yummy...they're warm and good with milk...and sweet." She continued, then gave a small chuckle. He'll learn to like them. Ani'll make him see, one day!
"Sure! Does Anvi own a library or something?" Anisia asked. Flitch was smart. He could read already. She couldn't read or write well yet. Kiita told her she'd be learning how to soon though. ------------------------------------- Flitch nodded. "Yeah. It's pretty big, and there's about a million books in there! I think Varlen put magic on the room to make it really big. Like THIS big!"
He held his arms out as far as they could go, so that he could proplerly emphasize the size of the library. "I've got some books in my room too, but only one bookshelf. Anvion has a lot!" he giggled. "If Anvion lets us, we can go exploring in it. Does that sound fun?" ------------------------------------- "Whoa. And Anvion read them ALL?" Anisia giggled a little as Flitch spread his arms out. "Thats real big. I always thought Kiita read a lot of books, but she doesn't own a library!" It was true. She could usually find her protector absorbed in a thick book for hours on end...and she usually finished them in a day or two too. "Sounds fun to me! Where's Anvi at?" She said with a smile. ------------------------------------- Flitch grinned, taking Ani's hand. "I can show you. It's upstairs! Anvion should be in there, too." He led her through the front hall to the stairs. From there he took her tot he second story and to the end of that hall pointing out where all the doors led along the way. "That's Anvion's room... There's my room. That's Kuzu's room, but he's out today. He's my big brother, but I don't like him much."
He stopped at the door at the hall's end, releasing his grasp on Ani's hand. The door looked fairly small, like the room on the other side was barely bigger than a closet. He grinned. "This is it." He pushed the door open, stepping in and peering about for Anvion. Aside from a good-sized desk that sat about ten feet across from the door, the room seemed to be filled with nothing other than book cases. Big ones. They spread just about as far as one could see no matter where you looked. It was huge, bigger than the actual house itself. Flitch beamed. "See? It's cool, isn't it?" ------------------------------------- Anisia curled her hand around Flitch's and let him lead the way with a smile. Her smile became a little faint as he mentioned how he didn't like his older brother much, "How come you don't like him?" She asked as they continued on their way.
That door was tiny. Surely it couldn't hold such a "-WOW!" Ani's mouth gaped open for a bit, "How could...the door was so small...gosh!" She stepped in and gazed about in awe. "Theres got to be hundreds of books in here!" She exclaimed. Her eyes were bright as she took it in.

Reading with Flitch - Continued
Flitch gave a small offhand shrug. "Kuzu pesters me a lot. He's really loud, too. And he... 'hits on' girls." Flitch was unfamiliar with the term, but that's what Anvion said he did a lot. That would explain why he was always bringing weird girls over. But he didn't hit them. Did he? Flitch didn't know, but the thought of hitting a girl was very unappealing. Flitch didn't like hitting in general, and hitting on sounded pretty bad.
Once Ani saw the library, though, his characteristic grin spit back across his face. "It's neat, huh? I don't know how Anvion managed to read them all, either." ------------------------------------- 'Hits on girls?' The phrase made Anisia frown a little, but she shrugged it off. Whatever it meant, it didn't sound nice. She had a feeling of relief she hadn't met Flitch's brother yet. Those words made her want to avoid meeting his brother now...
"It really is! I could probably get lost in this place." Ani said with a laugh. She looked to Flitch with a smile, "What types of books do you read? Can you read the really big ones with lots of pages?" She asked curiously, beginning to walk to the nearest shelf to see if she could find out what kinds of books there were. ------------------------------------- "I can sometimes," he said. "but sometimes the words are too big and it confuses me. Or it's just written funny so that I can't understand it." He followed her, his own gaze sweeoing the titles. Most of the books were collections of fairy tales, myths, and legends, which were usually really fun to read. Anvion had told him that she was collecting and recording them. why, he didn't know. Some of the books were magic too, which was neat. But Anvion never let him try out anything in the magic books. She said that they could be dangerous.
"I'lll read anything, really," he admitted. "As long as it's not boring. Boring things aren't fun. They're... boring." he shrugged sheepishly at the remark. "Good thing Anvion has lots of cool things. You can borrow a few if you want." ------------------------------------- "I can't even read yet! Well, not really anyway. Would you teach me, Flitch?" It felt a little funny, asking him to help her when she was technically the older one. But learning by Flitch would certainly be a lot more fun than learning by Kiita! Kiita had things to tend to around the house anyway. Flitch has got to be one of the smartest Sin...well, out of the ones she knew. "What book would you reccomend me trying to read first?" ------------------------------------- "Really?" Flitch was surprised. He had a small tendency to forget that he was the most literay-inclined Sin' as of yet. There probably weren't any Sin' that could read as well as he could. But the request for him to teach her how to read sounded appealing. Flitch smiled and nodded. "Sure I can teach you. Reading's pretty easy, actually..."
Now, the perfect starting book. Flitch scanned the bookshelf, mildly frowning. Hmm. Not that one... no, not that. Ha! Found it. Smiling, he pulled out a good fairytale book out from some book written in Evish and a heavy leatherbound book. "Here we go!" he exclaimed happily, holding the book out so Ani could see. "It's a fairytale book. And it's got pictures too, so you can help see what's going on if the words get to be too hard." ------------------------------------- Anisia smiled brightly and went over to give the toddler a hug, "Thank you!" She said excitedly. She honestly couldn't think of a better person to teach her how to read. And she knew Flitch was going to grow up as a genius or something. He had to.
Ani waited patiently as he looked over the books. She felt a little nervous at the selection of his, but she knew he wouldn't start her out on a book too hard for her. She gave him another smile, "Okay! Lets sit down somewhere." She said as she looked around for a bench or table. ------------------------------------- Flitched grinned, pleased at the hug he had recived. He was glad Ani still gave out lots of hugs. Hugs were awesome. He nodded in agreement for finding a seat, motioning for her to follow him. "I know where there's a table this way. Follow me!"
He led her past several of the massive bookshelves, until he came from a small break in the evenly-spaced book-laden shelves. There sat a small table with two chairs, a perfect size where Flitch and Ani could sit comfortably. Grinning, he took a seat, motioning for Ani to take the other one. "Here we go! Now, ummmm... Do you know the alphabet and the really basic stuff already, or should I just start from the beginning?" ------------------------------------- Ani followed obediently as Flitch led her to the table. On their way, her three eyes wandered about curiously, looking at the different books and their sizes. It was official. She knew she'd never be able to find her way around here. She was surprised Flitch could though. Then she thought how great he would be as a librarian. C'mon, he had one in house already!
The cinnamon bun girl took a seat across from Flitch with a small smile. "I know the alphabet. Kiita's been teaching me that for a few nights now." She said with a nod. ------------------------------------- "Mmkay, then." With a nod, he flipped through the pages, at last choosing a tale he was rather fond of. It was Hansel and Gretel, and he liked it because both of them knew how to use common sense and their heads. Plus, it was a very well-known tale, so Flitch had decided that using words from stories that the others knew would make it easier.
"I think we can start with Hansel and Gretel," he said, turning the book so that Ani could see and leaning over the table so that he could see, as well. "Do you know the story at all? It's a good one."
