nonbelievers think the bible/cross is stupid, and do best to steer clear, while christians, can see the power, and the message behind it all.

Verse of the week: "Even Jesus was given a portion he found hard to swallow. But with God's help, he did."(Mathew 26:39)
Sometimes we get over whelmed with so many trials and tribulations that we get so frustrated and sometimes we think that we can't handle these things. Well we're right we CAN'T handle these things, unless we stick with God. Even Jesus went through trials but he stayed true to God and he helped him get through.

1 John 1:5-9
"This is the messagehe has given us to announce to you: God is light and there is no darkness in him at all. So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness. But if we are living in the light of God's presence, just as Christ is, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from every sin. If we say we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong".
Basically guys, don't be hypocrites. Don't say that you're against homosexuality, for example, then go say it;s okay to someone else. And be truthful to not only everyone, but yourself as well. Denying that you have sinned is arrogance and you're refusing help from God. Lift up your problems and sins, and frustrations to God, and he will guide you and forgive you and cleanse you. THIS is the meaning of "The truth will set you free".

It seems that this particular sticky hasn't been posted in a while (of course, I can't talk since I myself haven't visited this guild in a while) so I thought I'd share a couple of verses that I've been memorizing.
Galations 5:1- Standfast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hah made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Psalms 23:4- Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfot me.
I just got back from a camp my church does a few weeks ago and that's where the first one came from, the focus of camp was freedom and it was so amazingly, well, freeing. The other is one I found after a sermon my pastor preached on fear, mostly fear of failure and how we should become familiar with it because, face it, we WILL fail but God can use our failures to bring Him victory. He's just that amazing, huh?

Weekly bible verse!
In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also.
- John 14: 2, 3
How comforting is it to know that God has prepared a place in Heaven for us. A place where our differences no longer matter and where we feel no pain.

one of my favorite verses is from 1st timothy. Its 4:12.
"Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young But set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity."
Sometimes as teens we get discouraged, because a lot of us get pushed around by the older church members. Many seem to think we're nothing but sinners that need to get a bath in holy water by all the other members. For some reason many people make Teens ONE stereotype, they don't realize that we are just as good and could even be MORE faithful than some of them. I liked this verse because it was encouraging. I felt a comfort when i learned about it.

Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, since is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it." -Genesis 4:6-7
I read this verse during my devotions a couple weeks ago, and it really stood out to me, so I thought I would share it. It made me think about how many times I get angry when things don't work out right, even when I do what I know I shouldn't. And it amazed me that God loved Cain enough to even warn him that sin was waiting to take over him, and he had to resist it, but in the very next verse Cain kills his brother Abel, caving in...a pattern I see in my life.

When I consider the heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what are mere mortals that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hand; you put everything under their feet. -Psalms 8:3-6
I read this this morning in my devotions. I struggle with depression, and I have been having more trouble than usual with it this morning. I've been feeling unimportant, unloved, and unnoticed. I read this passage and it hit me just how much God loves me. He pays attention to my prayers. He knows my needs and my wants before I even ask. He feels I'm important, important enough to send His Son to die for me. And not an easy death, but the most excruciatingly painful death imaginable. He notices me and hears my prayers. He comes to my aid. And as beautiful and vast as all of nature is, all the animals and plants and mountains and everything, he places me above it all.
How loved and special I feel now. I'm so undeserving, but God chooses to love me anyways. Praise and thanks be given to the Lord!

John 14:6 Jesus Christ is the way, and the truth, and the life.No one comes to the father (God) except through Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him (Jesus Christ) from the dead you shall be saved. By believe in your heart your made right with God and by confessing with your mouth you're saved. Joel 2:32 and Romans 10:13 Whoever call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 1 John 2:1-2 If anyone sins we have Jesus Christ to help us.He always did what is right, so he he is able to defend us from us before God the father.Jesus is the our sins are taken away. and he it the way all people our sins are taken away. And he is the way all peoplke can have their sins taken away too. 1 John 2:15 Don't love the world or the things in it.IF ove the world,you do not have the love from God the Father in you.This all there in the world: wanting to p,lease our sinful selves,wanting the sinful things we see, and being proud of what we have.But none of the come from the Father.They come from the world.The world is passing away, and all the things that poeple want inthe world are apssin g away.But whoever does waht God wants will live forever. 1 John 2:24-25 Be sure that you continue to follow the teaching you heard from the beginning If you do that you will always be in the Son and the Father and this promised is eternal life.

Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature. -Romans 13:13-14
This is just a reminder that not only should we not engage in sinful behaviors, we should not even think about how to gratify them. In giving it the time to think about such things, we are entertaining the idea of allowing the sin into our lives, and it's a slippery slope from there because we have allowed it to enter into our minds where it can then corrupt our hearts, and take our focus away from God and the advancement of His Kingdom. Also,
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
This verse instructs us on those things which we should think about, replacing thoughts of how to gratify our sinful nature with thoughts of those things which are praiseworthy.
